- The new Mercedes-AMG C63 S E-Performance is faster, gripper and comfier but is it as easy to love as the V8 model it replaces? Alex drives it on track and on road in Spain to deliver the verdict on one of 2022's most controversial performance cars.
What would you guys take? The new C63 or the old 4.0-litre V8?

Great review❤❤
My dream car, great performance without bragging about it❤❤
It’s a beautiful eco daily driver, while true V8 C63s parked in garage for special drives 😁
What a slap in the face to any car enthusiast

Congrats on the first time launch at Ascari! I get the need to change and Fast yes, more expensive yes and more engaging ? The sound just didn’t do it for me and agree the theatre and sound is not there. Keep up the reviews Alex.
Cheers mate!
Looks cool but the car has no soul / character
Overall, this appears to be a deeply impressive sports car and an engineering masterpiece, but my feeling is that AMG have made a huge misjudgement retaining the C63 badge, because the core of the C63 DNA is that glorious V8 rumble. For me, and I am sure many others, a C63 this car is NOT. Mercedes should have retired the C63 nameplate, just as Porsche should NOT have used the "Turbo" badge on the fully electric Taycan. This is a marketing driven decision, understandable to a point, but it's lazy marketing in my opinion, that risks a backlash from the brand purists and enthusiasts.
My thoughts exactly! The C63 badge should've died with the w204
Yes, it's a different beast. I'm not a fan. Why not continue to produce an authentic C63 and add this new thing to the lineup and see what people buy? Oh, that's right, we know people won't gravitate to a complex Camry Hybrid style drivetrain given the choice.
You absolutely nailed that summary. I couldn’t agree more.
"just as Porsche should NOT have used the "Turbo" badge on the fully electric Taycan."
Ok, that I disagree with. Enthusiasts are really fucking stupid at times... _It's literally just a word._ Just like how "C63" is just two numbers and a letter. This new car is definitely disappointing, but at the end of the day it's still got that C63 badge on it.
Like the looks of the car in and out but a 2L in a C63? No sound and a whopping 900lbs more than the previous generation? 900lbs! Takes a lot of marketing magic to spin these attributes into a better driving experience than the W204. IDK, if I had the $ and were in the market for a fun car this would not be it.........
A great car to buy new with a long warranty.Too complicated for me.I prefer the current C63 which rattles your neighbours letter box on start up. That’s what an AMG should do.
Less bark, much more bite.
Take away the star, because of it's psychological effect.
And realize how beautiful Mazdas are designed not too different than a Mercedes.
If only Mazda made high-performance sedans... - Mike Stevens
@@WheelsAustralia Fully agreed.
C63's have been trashed in reputation by a certain ethnic demographic here in Australia. You all know who I mean.
😂😂😂😂 I am a member of the certain ethnic demographic you have referred to.... I would like to apologise for the cringe, ugly stereotypical character that has ruined the C63 in most cases 😅😢😂
Well, If your whole experience with this car is on track and you already now that it's completely different then all of it's predecessors and put simple worse, then why no strong statement/verdict?
There is no sugarcoating. C63 was loved because of its V8 rumble and performance. No one needs 800bhp on the streets. Everyone want a loud growling sound. This car is a complete miss. No one cares about the figures at this point when every electric car does 0-100 in a very short time. Such high power can be experience only way above any speed limit.
Crap car, too bad w205 c63 will be more expensive that this joke very soon
