HOW TO DiRT Rally 2.0 | Tips for Handbrake Turns

- My 2nd 'How to', this time focusing on one technique only. I try an extensive explanation about the usefulness of handbrake turns and how to do them. Directly following my short statement in the first How To Video.
All I was looking for was the timing for using the handbrake - very helpful! No other videos would say when to pull the handbrake and instead they just said use handbrake on tight turns
Great video. The voiceover is actually layered on clips that relate! Unlike most voiceover tutorials just talking over any game-play - thanks!
This is really informative and helpful - thanks a lot!
You deserve waaaay more attention. I pretty much learned everything else on my own but using the hand brake as a save NEVER occurred to me at all. Keep up the good work.
Clutch, turn, pull. My new mantra.
Thank you for the informative video. Too many others are disrespecting learners needlessly.
I'm new to the DIRT RALLY 2.0 I know I'm late but dam this game is brilliant it feels real life, the best racing game I've played I'm still getting used to it but it's a hell of a game 🔥
best video on handbreak turning
Expertly divulged. Concise and thorough. Thank you!
Just discovered your channel today and immediately subbed. Very nice videos man. This is exactly what I was looking for; tips that assume I know general car physics and terminology but will help me refine my skills. Thanks!
Very well Explained 👍🏼
I love the "slow down footage" during your explanation. One of the best Handbrake tutorial of seen on U-Tube 👌🏼😊🚘⚠️↪️
Thanks
You only handbrake when it's a U turn shape of a corner (using the Scandinavian flick can replace the handbrake before entering a corner "if it's an L shape, it helps slowing down the car and prepare it for the right angle), other than that the G force will take care of the regular curves and corners with a good handling.
Nice video! Well done!
I wish there was more content like that!
Keep them coming
Is a cool setup, but if you haven't tried this in VR you've got to.
Thanks for the vid
I'm just starting my youtube videos with different driving games and I can tell you deserve a subscribe and like button! Keep up the good work. Learned a lot from you
These are epic and useful, my sister is better better and better at DR 2.0 because of these videos, keep it up :)
Your tutorials are really really good! Thank you!
*Hits every corner like boss* ......then
*bumps into small ass hill while making a turn*
*car flips * *46sec penalty *
*class leader already done *
If you want to really learn how to use the handbrake, then go to Argentina and rally there. Set yourself up a Custom Championship and randomize all 12 stages, if you want to go all daytime you can. If you want to mix in some night stages, do that too; but make sure it's in the wet.
If that's too extreme, pick the hairiest looking course in time trial and keep practicing until you don't wreck.
Remember, don't train until you get it right - train until you can't get it wrong.
Nice video, excellent information! 🏆
I have a G27 wheel and pedals. I set the gear selector to be sequential with auto clutch (usually), and then set the clutch pedal to act as the handbrake. It takes a bit of learning to use the left foot to handbrake, but it really works well -- much better than steering one-handed while you handbrake. I'm seriously wondering if a setup like that would work in real life.
First time I hear this creative solution!
I'd be afraid that by getting used to this I might be stepping on my clutch if a handbrake would be needed in real life :D (I'm always trying to justify my hours spent with driving games with a possible quicker and better reaction in a tight situation in real life driving.)
Good simply tips . Greta work,, thanks.
i thought i might be doing something wrong but I guess its just really tricky. sometimes it works beautifully and sometimes I go into rocks.
Anyone got any advice as to why my XBox series x, fanatec handbrake connected directly to the CSL elite 8nm wheelbase only registers as on/off and not linear like on EA Sports WRC?
I understand dirt rally 2.0 is rated as a better "game" / sim, but that one thing I am finding incredibly disappointing tbh.
Thank you, very helpful
I know nothing about cars so I have no idea what all of these tuning settings do. Please help
Could someone please help me confirm that dirt rally handbrake is analog? Meaning its only either 0 or 100%, unlike throttle
what is the monitor and size in this video ? pls
What is your display size? Looks rwaly immersive 👍🏻
Force pull? Jedi driving tips
I didn't have a problem to use handbrake on first Dirt properly, but here on 2.0 I just struggle badly, car often just lose power and have problem to
ramp up on first gear.
3y old but it’s because you weren’t pushing in and releasing the clutch at the right times. You’re used to arcade games and not real vehicles/sims.
More specific: Use handbrake only when your car will not rotate fast enought.
these are good tips
Those disliked can't drift. Well.... I can't do it but I left a thumbs up XD
Yea this game is a struggle but I like it
witch handbreake do you use?
don't you need to use the clutch when pulling the handbrake?
cars don't stall in dr2
i have a question for you mate, i see you know your shit and drive well, also your FOV is set correctly for the screen and distance and i like that, so i was wondering what is your take on the steering wheel angle in drivers and in game? do you use 900 + soft lock in game or are you running 540 in drivers and soft lock disabled in game?
Hi, thanks for the words. I prefer to use highest degrees in driver and soft-lock in game. Cause it is part of a cars difficulty for me: An R5 is partly so easy to control because it has a quick and short rotation. Whereas for example the Subaru Legacy is quite hard to drive fast, cause it has a lot of rotation. It is part of a cars character for me.
what degree of steering you are using?
Depends on the car, its softlock automatically changing to the real degrees
Ok it doesnt matter. I just use handbrakes on 6's as well
Got this for ps plus 👍 great game, but I struggle with sharp turns. Please help me, I beg of you 🤣
Fun fact : Group B 4WD Monsters didn't have a handbrake ;)
They did, they just locked all wheels, so drivers rarely used it
What if we have a controller?
@Charlez ツ 😂😂
Wheel settings pls
My Settings are in the channel discussion tab
Use a wheel button to handbrake is pretty difficult, I better don't do it
Why the fuck doesn't my game look this good
Subtitles French please
Dude plz turn off the sound of the game, it s hard to listen for a no native english speaker. Thx
Dude, I, along with thousands others heard just fine.
Thx nice tips. 👍
These are excellent tips. Thank you. The accent makes for even more authenticity. :)
0:51 yup like this, i exactly do what you did right there. make sure the rotation the wheel to the right and pull the handbrake like that with addition of gas. but still fail
lmao im crazy about this.
5:48 bunta would be proud
Well explained, dude. Very informative. I thought I knew a bit about handbrake turns until you schooled me, made me feel like an idiot and inadvertently helped me get better. Thanks. 🤓
Anyone got a tip on how not to stall your car? 9 out of 10 times when i E brake a hairpin my car stalls
I saw a video where the guy says, you should steer first into the opposite direction and then steer into the corner, handbrake, throttle.
has something to do with shifting the weight or something... I don't even know if this is simulated in DR2...
what do you guys think about this?
if you even understand what I am talking about 😛
Finally a great video how to rallye!! well done man
What about deadzone and saturation settings?
Great video. Thanks a lot!
can you please help me with the FFB in dirt rally 2.0? what should my settings be?
also should i do 900 range 720 or 540 on my wheel?
My Settings are in the channel discussion tab
Great Video, straight on point and actually helps, Thanks!
thanks a lot!
Mate this was spot on!
Does drifting on dirt or asphalt affect the tyre wear?
Any suggestion on what key I should bind the handbrake? I also have the T300RS wheel and i have the handbrake on X and this literally keeps breaking my fingers when i try to pull the handbreake while steering
While I didnt have my fanatec handbrake, I mapped it to the right shift paddle. Worked quite well. Left Paddle was upshift and a Button I could reach with my left thumb was downshift, so the right paddle could work as handbrake
@@skyrex2465 I always use the th8a shifter with my t gt wheel allowing me to use the right hand paddle as a handbrake. Works great and feels better than a button. Would like an actual handbrake tho...
Can you do a video on clutch kicking?
Bad advice. You didn’t even talk about when your should or shouldn’t use the clutch. Clutch makes a big difference with handbrake turns.
with rwd its so hard to handbrake and catch the slide, feel like its better just to go slow around the hairpins sometimes
ohh you covered this haha
There are front wheel drive, rear wheel drive and all wheel drive vehicles, but why are there no side wheel drive vehicles where both wheels on the right or the left drive the car?
