Mostly talking about the issues, digging and analyzing what WRC lacks compared to its DiRT Rally 2 predecessor and how they can improve on it going forward. Or not, and create a recipe for a better competitor to be to them, what Codemasters was to Kylotonn. Also, a sloppy onboard run trhough the longest Portugal stage in a WRC2 Skoda.

Lovely guide! Really great information here.
No TrueForce settings? Also, what was your reasoning on soft lock and steering centering? Thanks for the overview, it’s tough finding videos for somebody that has the same G Pro base!
Spot on, always good. I enjoy the rhythm of Chile and you are very right, accumulation of taps and knocks ruin your rally over multiple stages.
If you increase suspension height, shoulnd't you also increare wheel camber?
Much Thanks👍🏻
Thank you for the useful tips
Thanks !!
Cool
The blue Subaru Impreza with those yellow/green decals will never stop being my favorite rally car ever. Even when McRae was driving the Ford, I still loved watching the Subaru drive the most, no matter who the driver was, and I always picked it in the old rally games. Today's rally cars are just boring to look at.
Bro, give me your config the car ??
Echt gutes Video. Es hat mir sehr geholfen besser zu werden. Ich hab das Video in verschiedenen Zeiten meiner Lernphase geschaut und ich habe immer etwas aus dem Video ziehn können. gut gemacht, Hohe Anerkennung
what gpu do you have?
I can barely make out what the guys saying because all the background noise and he talks so low
sieht das alles hässlich aus, ich hoffe UE 5 wird es verbessern, dann irgendwann ..... soon
With default set up, I am still 7m 11m.. 😅, may be next time bro... Thanks for great sharing.. 🤝🏻👍🏻💯
I manage to become second every single race except the person in first can be racing in a shitbox and still win😂 it’s actually so crazy that they can do this to players
How do you find it driving at night in heavy rain? Just drove Latvia in Career mode yesterday and RNGsus gave me that weather and I couldn't see 50 meters in front of me.
This could be a great video if we could actually hear you
Please do not call the game Dirt Rally 3.0 :D I like the game, but being a step backwards in so many directions, 3.0 is the only thing it's not :D
Thanks for sharing this video with us. I've watched a lot of your content on EA WRC and I've improved a lot by listening to your great advice and explanations. The video where you explained all the different tuning definitions was a game changer for me and how I understand this genre of racing. I am a fellow G Pro Wheel user and saw you have trueforce turned off. I'm curious why you chose to turn it off if you wouldn't mind explaining. I'd love to hear your opinion on it if you get the chance to see this comment. As always thanks for the awesome informative video, and I look forward to the next one!
Excellent as always!
Thank you, our German sensei
Am glad am not the only one that has wheel and tyre friction at 0, find my wheel very sluggish when l move these two slider's
The whole game looks so artificial, it's really a shame for a game like this in 2024. I think even the sounds where better in DiRT Rally 1
Good tips but I'd also recommend going with tuned (via in-game tune search), older, lighter cars - you'd be surprised how effective that tactic works. Manual is key too - drive that to get an edge on performance. Ramming other cars is bad form.
I think the beginner stuff should be included in this video. Considering guides are usually aimed for beginners or someone running the event for first time, it would be helpful to go through all of the few challenging corners that can catch you out if you dont know the road yet. Additionally that one corner where it is tempting to exit wide but will slap you 5s penalty while the corner cut bollard is not there is very nice to know. Although it is easy, some of the seemingly non harmful banks and ditches are very punishing, small oversteer can lead to puncture. There would be many more things to say about Latvia as a location when using cars with simple suspension systems. Setups meant for other locations is kind of ok but it is far from optimal for the best time trial results.
It seems you speak from a primarily time trial point of view? These nuances are true and I fully understand that time trial-ers could benefit from different setups for every location, even different for some stages in the same location. But, I consider time trial as basically driving a different game, than to do rally. And my channel is aimed for the immersion of rally driving. To which it belongs, that a setup has to work for different weather, different seasons, different tyre wear and tyre choice and several stages back-to-back.
@@skyrex2465 I mean the full rally length, but this also applies to time trials when studying a stage. In a time trial, one should learn the stage inside and out, but for a full rally length, drivers mostly rely on notes since there's too much road to memorize by rote. However, it can be easy to miss a call, like "3 left long tightens," which may cause action. For beginners, knowing in advance that a potentially tricky corner is coming up is beneficial. This can help avoid damage, corner cuts, 30s resets, and 90s tire change penalties, which can set you back much more than losing a few tenths here and there by driving carefully. Typically, there are only a handful of such places in each rally, and they are relatively easy to memorize. If I recall correctly, Latvia has about seven of these locations, one of which can easily cause punctures. It has a seemingly harmless grass-covered bank right next to the racing line. Three other locations can cause significant damage if you miss a call, and one leads to a lake and reset penalty. Yes, its definitely a skill issue, but that is part of being a beginner. In Finland, most accidents occur during calls for 4 that have some sort of modifier. However, there are so many of these in Finland that its better to drive all the 4s with extra caution until you memorize them. Anyway, it would be great to include these critical spots in the guides, even though they might not be the same for everyone but you would get most of them. This would mean less frustration due to skill issues. In my opinion, setups are less significant than rally knowledge. Driving the default setup leads to far less time loss than making driving mistakes. I tune for the location and road profile rather than for individual stages, tire wear, or weather conditions. However, these are personal preferences, and I believe either approach can be effective.
There is no complex context around the skill issue discussion. Many people do not want to take personal resposibility for their failures and would prefer to blame external factors like game design instead. There is a belief among many that games should not require significant time investment or practice in order to achieve what they percieve as success. The biggest example of this in popular culture was with the release of Sekiro, when games journalists complained about their inability to complete the game and decrying the lack of an easy mode to improve accessibility.
Wheels friction and tyre friction at 0 is a joke😂
You are free to play with settings you like or how you think you understand them. And everyone else is free to try out different settings and see what they like best.
I like Poland a lot more than Latvia
This no longer works.
Quick question, what monitor size are you using?, because it seems to fit perfect with the setup
It's a 55 inch curved 4K TV at 60Hz
@@skyrex2465looks awesome
Once I get used to a track and cars handling I turn those you have on 57 down a lot - down to 20-50 depending on how loose the grip is. Asphalt on 20 and Snow on 50. Logitech G29. It's barely there and feels less thrilling but I think my driving experience is much better. Especially when I've lost control of the car or misjudged a corner.
Thanks for your videos! The banks are much less forgiving than DR2
yea bro their wingless base 5.0 mustang should totally be faster than my 1100 hp viper with 1200 lbs of downforce on each end. oh and outcorner the shit out of it. yea. they cheat.
Big difference in grip with new cars.. and the Hyundai is just a blast too drive.. engine sound👍 and that klonk when you change gear, love it😎 I looked at your video about graphics settings, I tried them now game is runnning great no more flickering and it’s running smooth👍 big thanks that you shared it👍👍
I'm glad neither of the new rallies is in the mountains. Those are a grind.
2 seconds in and I'm predicting a massive skill issue 😂
How do you adjust the image up and down?
In the controls the options for move seat. But only works for true cockpit, not the dashcams.
I can't get over how ugly the sides of the roads look in this game and this map seems be no exception. Where the road meets the grass looks so jagged and low effort.
Whole game aesthetics look like crap and low effort. Colors are unnatural. Lighting/shadows are way off. And I just hate how generic everything looks
The colors might be my fault. Drive on HDR Screen, but cut SDR for RUclips, and am still experimenting with the best Color Space Transformation. Tried a different waz for the new Poland Video, do they look more natural there?
@@skyrex2465 My issue isn't the colours it's more the modeled quality of the environment. It looks low poly and very serrated around the edge of the road. Nothing wrong with your videos btw! I always apprecite them :) Will watch the Poland one now.
Does the Puma WRC really have a sunroof?
No. What you see is only one windscreen with a bar o the rollcage infront of it. The rollcage is not part of the car's frame.
I think for many viewers it's worth stating your pc specs in the video notes. This will help viewers to gauge whether it's worth switching to pc like you did yourself. I tried the PC version with the intention of using VR and the VR implementation is terrible for my PC. Standard, flat screen gameplay was at times far better than PS5 but the stutters were worse and I went back to the PS5 as I found it more consistent! I don't have a mega PC, but one would think that the game should run well considering my following specs. Graphics card: AMD 7800XT, CPU 5700G, 16GB RAM 3200mhz!
Ryzen 7700, RX 7900 GRE, 32GB RAM at 6GHz
I literally just searched for this on your channel. Thank you.
I am happy for this video for more reasons. Firstly the Graphics settings can get a bit tricky without G-force experience profiles and I like how you picked the settings which are causing the most problems. Second, I have also Logitech Pro Wheel and there is not many people talking about its settings. I understand you have it set to default with no dampener or filters. Does it mean that you changed the default value of dampener to 0 or left it on 10? A quick tab out to LG hub to show the settings would be very appreciated. Even for a few seconds to pause the video and double check our settings 😉 I already tested your game settings and wheel on default (dampener to 10), just pumped strength to 11 and it started making more sense. I must say I enjoy the wheel behaviour now more than before. I am using your settings and advices since Dirt Rally 2 as they always worked for me well! Even adjusting it to my liking got much easier after your explanation of how it works and why you tune the parts you do. Thank you and keep up your good work SkyRex, looking forward for next videos
I highly recommend the Sim Hound gloves with the external stitching. I have been wearing the XL and they only cost 37$ USD. They hold up extremely well and are great for Rally driving. Im looking for a better sim shoe. At the moment I’m using water shoes. Thanks so much for the graphics and especially the ffb settings. Going to test them out tomorrow. I happen to have the Logitech pro DD wheel. I also just ordered the handbrake/shifter, round wheel and universal hub.
So you postponed the guides for Portugal, Greece and Monte Carlo for 3-6 months? Maybe just make a different video whan the content comes out to talk about the new stages and their unique challenges, which also may bring you some new viewers looking up for the new content guides specifically, and release the guides for the locations as thay are now? Probably they will still be mostly usable for the new tracks anyways. IMO it would just be logical if you released the videos this way, but its up to you i guess
Thanks for this. Set my first sub top 200 on a track ever in some part to your help. Finnland is superfun!
nope...the ai cheats, it has something like f1 drs when they get near you. When you get near them its like they slow down just a tiny bit so you can overtake them...? its weird.
How to disable visual pacenotes?
thank you very much for info and details!
