    I’m a recent convert to hammocks, I love them. I must say, an under quilt/blanket is a must. Even on a warm day the mornings can be chilly and your back will get cold. Also it’s worth pointing out that if you are a side sleeper you can still very comfortably sleep on your side in a hammock, especially with a diagonal lay. Thanks for the video Scott. Nice one. 👍🏻

      Yeah definitely mate i use a cocoon can open it up on warm mornings and obviously 'cocoon' yourself on cold one.
      Thanks for watching mate.

      To be honest, I've never tried a cocoon. I think I'm a bit broad at the shoulder to fit them comfortably. I have to be choosy with sleeping bags too!

    Good video, mate. This hammock is massive once your in it, ive got one. I cut 3 sticks with little ‘v’ sections at each end and place them between the mozzy net cords to hold it spread wider open. Only about a foot or so in length, it keeps the netting held apart and further away from you. Iv just made my mate watch your video to prove how simple the set up is.
    Thanks again

    I kept the paracord on for the novelty of it. I own a few hammocks and i use whoopie slings with my own DIY tree straps but I'm digging the extra beefy paracord Snugpak are using here. People say it stretches but these are folks assuming because they clearly haven't ever used the jungle hammock as it has never stretched for me.

    • @OscarOutdoors22
      @OscarOutdoors22  2 года назад

      Good tips and points there my friend. Never stretched for me either. Did cut through it once whilst swinging violently but thats another story!

    Good review mate. My only gripe with the hammock is the bug net, it’s way to flimsy and easily torn. Not sure why they didn’t run a central ridge line under it. Swapped the carabiners on mine too as the supplied ones have sharp edges. Apart from that for the money it’s a great bit of kit

    • @OscarOutdoors22
      @OscarOutdoors22  4 года назад

      Yeah i just wanted to show what you get when you buy... without any swaps. I use daisy chains now instead of the paracord ones etc. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment

    What length would you make a structural ridge line for this hammock mate?
    I am planning on using this hammock in the colder months upside down with the cocoon but not sure on what 83% is of the total length.
    Jungle hammock is listed as 275cm in length, is this the length I need to take the SRL from?

    • @OscarOutdoors22

      Officially its ling enough when coupled to go around a tree and back through. But there are simpler ways. Using a Structural ridge line between carabiners and running through the bug net loops.

    Is it possible to use the Snugpak Cocoon with tje Jungle Hammock?

  • @HikingFeral
    @HikingFeral 2 года назад

    Just a tip for folks watching this. Order yourself a pair of ultralight DMM aluminium climbing carabiners and this is a fantastic, budget friendly, strong hammock for beginners and day camps. Remove snugpacks stainless steel biners as they weigh more than the entire hammock it's self. Obviously if you're car camping that's a non issue.

    Must be really hard to get a good hang with the amount of stretch in the paracord. Can't see it actually being 550 paracord with that much stretch. Foot ends too high and line angles too steep, not surprising with the line stretch. Good video though.

    I’m not so sure about this. I don’t like the dual ridge line and the fact it doesn’t have a structural ridge line.
    Get the kompound from Onetigris and some 7/64 Amsteel. Watch a video on how to make a continuous loop and structural ridge line. Replace the ridge line and continuous loops. Do that and you’ll have a far superior hammock for the same money. It also has better carabiners and tree straps.
    Edit: You can even get fancy and make a whoopie sling ridge line that is adjustable. All for the same price and you will have acquired a skill.
