    Fractal is killing it with case design recently. Was never really a fan of the meshifies, but the North and Terra are beautiful. I just went with the Ridge for the htpc look, but if I wasn't trying to go that route, I'd definitely go with a Terra or North.

    Hi Everyone! I noticed some understandable confusion regarding the PSU orientation and wanted to provide some additional info, as typically you would face the PSU fan out. The idea of facing it inward is to intake the hot air expelled from the blower-style cooler on the FE graphics card and exhaust it out the top of the case. This orientation option is provided in the Fractal Terra’s user manual provided with the case. It even has been brought up as a viable option by multiple well-established and highly credible RUclips channels (assuming you use a high-quality power supply), so I wanted to try it myself. (See Page 38: www.fractal-design.com/app/uploads/2023/05/Terra-manual-V1.2.pdf)
    For some additional context, Fractal also includes 2 sets of PSU bracket standoffs (10mm and 6.5mm) to create more space between the graphics card and the PSU. The configuration in my video can only fit the shorter 6.5mm standoffs.
    After a few comments stating concerns, I decided to test the GPU thermals on both orientations (the PSU fan facing in v. out) and found that the GPU thermals increased by an average of 8-10ºC across the games I tested with the fan facing OUT.
    Of course, if you are planning to build in this case, the option is 100% yours on how you want to orient the PSU when using a FE card. Or if this is all weird and confusing, I would recommend not using a blower-style FE card and orient the PSU fan toward the outside of the case.

  • @PHOBIAx57x
    @PHOBIAx57x Год назад +5

    • @tobiaspcactus

    Hey Nightwatch, Michiel here, the developer of IceCube Adventures. Nice to read you really liked our game. I was inspired by the zelda kind of story driven gameplay and temples with keys and ability keys, and the single touch gameplay was inspired by a demo of my internship leader. I asked his permission to use the concept and thought of how an IceCube is always sliperry so it makes sense it moves by itself. The music is made by Dylan Groot and the soundfx by Arjen Schut. I May have some artwork on a disk.. Yet a playable game isn't possible anymore because it was compiled for an old ios version. Yet I may have a Adobe flash demo somewhere...

    • @BroiledSourGrapes
      @BroiledSourGrapes 7 месяцев назад

      Considering he did a pea-sized application and then showed the thermals under max load being well within operating temps, I don't see the point of this comment. All you accomplish with manually spreading is the far greater chance of getting trapped air bubbles. The heatsink will force all air pockets out on its own.

    idk how he's getting under 80 degrees CPU temp but mine is 100 degrees when playing cyberpunk, tried both Noctua NH-L9a-AM5 and Noctua NH-L9x65

    I personally hate the beige and brown Noctua fans. I think the all black ones would look better or the Be Quiet LP cooler but still think it's an excellent build and one of the cases I've been looking at.

    Is the CPU at stock or is under-voltted in anyway? I have the 5800X and since the 5000 series and AM5 platform, all i see is every chip runs hot so i am just curious about the cpu and how it runs with a low-profile cooler?

    • @Drangatang
      @Drangatang 9 месяцев назад

      Plenty of people use the 5800x with a thermal right am90x47 full copper, and it works. The 5800x3d is actually much faster and more efficient (less heat) for gaming, so most people use that CPU in the Terra case.

    This might be what I need for building a separate small form factor streaming PC, and I think I wouldn't need a 4080 for that; a 4070 or even a 4060 would do just fine, as the main PC where the action takes place would have the 4090.
    Do you think I'd be able to fit an internal Elgato Camlink 4k four-HDMI capture card inside it along with a 4070?

    • @Blinkhs1
      @Blinkhs1 Год назад +1

      Probably not, ideally you would go with something single slot like an rtx a4000, keep in mind you also need to cool your cpu which you would also want to be decent. If it were me I would go with something from sliger or an nr200p with those smaller sized matx boards (I was able to get a gigabyte b365 ds3h to fit) Also you really don't need a 4070 for a streaming pc, I would go with a 3060 or a 4060 and call it a day

    • @MrRakushin
      @MrRakushin 11 месяцев назад +1

      No, internal Elgato Camlink, you don't have another PCI-E slot on itx- motheboards - so you need to choose gpu OR camlink ;)
