Fellas, I am so absolutely stoked to be able to bring you this content. I hope you're enjoying it as much as I enjoyed making it. Prepare yourself for the United States, as you're not going to be seeing much other than it!
Drongo my man that too many videos!
Thank you for brining great content to us!
But drongo.. what about Sweden..😓😢
AMERICAAA!
I'm officially into this game now.
me: complains about twitch-heavy content
Drongo: puts out 13 quality vids in one day
Awesome stuff mate. Hope you had as much fun making the vids as I have watching them. Also, you are the first person I checked out several times on Twitch by now. Take a break now lol, and hopefully you'll show the upcoming African civs (Ethiopia and Hausa confirmed, look at the flags ;) ) the same love as the USA :D
So is it technically a European civilization with some differences or is it a brand new civilization category exclusive to USA only?
Oh wow, I kind of have not been paying attention if they were going to add more dlc to the game but this is incredible and super creative. I'm so happy to see this game get the love it deserves.
Africa themed expansion coming later this year, per the showcase.
@@Israelyguy14 that is exciting
Drongo: Italians confirmed!
Also Drongo: Wait it is actually the United States!
Also Drongo: I knew this all along.
(Just kidding)
Italians could potentially come in with the Africans DLC they talked about as Italy was colonising in Africa from 1885-1941 I know a majority of that time is out of the AOE 3 Timeline but at a stretch?
@@OULARTDUDE Perhaps. Looking forward to it.
@@thenamelessguy7357 Cool, what else did you see in your glass sphere?
@@thenamelessguy7357 They added portugal with AoE II African Kingdoms Italy is literally closer my dear
I wonder if he knew this all along though. He said he got it 5 days ago, which would be around April 4-6, which is after it leaked that US was the new civ.
i'll be happy if Wars of Liberty modders are invited to join project in DE
Well someone has been peeking out wars of liberty mod for ideas
Moon Map is confirmed!
FOR REAL!! kinda they copied the ideas.. but as long they have permission for using the idea, I'm okay with it
@@imasyourleague did they?
Exactly! it's just WOL US and Habsburg combined of course there's some differences but conceptionally speaking there's nothing new here, I defiantly hope they give the WOL team some credit, or even hire them for doing most of their work for them...
Looks sooo OP. I can already see Sweden players run for USA.
everybody gangsta bashing on sweden until the american walks into the room
Sweden and Japan by far the lamest civilisations of all time.
@@johnlocke4715 lame? yes, lamest? thats up for debate with the amount of power america seems to have in it's entire kit
@@pharaohthutmosis7803 All Swedish players do is make Carolean and falconet. Soooo lame. All Japan does is sit and hide in base. Both have economic buildings that just magically create wealth. At least with the dutch it was thought through and actually leveled correctly.
@@johnlocke4715 thats my point, america seems to have all that dutch, japan AND sweden's tools at their disposal, and also being able to use about 70% of ALL of those strenghts depending on how you build
@@pharaohthutmosis7803 oh okay sorry for the misinterpretation. But, in all honesty, it looks as though USA pay much more severe penalties. They get interesting cards but age up times/cost are significantly higher or unlike french who get 3CBD first card, they have to pay 200 wood. carbine cavalry take 2 population, are 80f/80c each even though they shoot more they're weaker than dragoons. regulars are more expensive than musks. they dont have falconets, only age IV horse artillery/cluvs and gatling guns.
The factory is in age 3, 5.5 vills. what about the british 8 villager shipment? it dwarfs this card.
Even looking at over 10-15 games of USA vs other civs and they got beat a lot because US is a slow and greedy civ.
WooHoo! I’m so excited Indiana is represented in-game, and even more excited that Drongo mentioned the best state in the Union! (As a flyover state, it’s easy to get us happy!)
Are old civilizations getting some love too?
I dont think so...
No, why would they? Lol
You mean Age of Empires 2 and 4?
@@blake7321 age 3
Saloons are supposedly getting reworked (to be a US only building and give EU civs a replacement or smth), otherwise no idea.
I was already looking forward to this, but I'm a bit blown away about how different and fitting this seems. I absolutely love it and can't wait for tuesday :D Also African expansion confirmed for later down the line? Happy. Nufff said. Congrats on your chance to preview this!
Jesus christ alot of videos got posted lol
What this dlc announcement means in and of itself is that the devs have gotten a green light from Microsoft for long term investments into the development of the game, so much so that a lot of additional modelling and new mechanics can be put into new DLCs. This means that we're only at the start of a long and fruitful road, and doubts of 3DE being a throwaway product can definitely be thrown out the window.
Seems like an OP copy of the USA in Wars of Liberty
FOR REAL!! kinda they copied the ideas.. but as long they have permission for using the idea, I'm okay with it
I like how tiny the washington monument is given that it was once one of the tallest buildings in the world.
'.... Interrupting your brrrrting'... Lmao Drongo
Drongo you are amazing, so much content ready to go day one -thats a real effort thank you
WoL has their own version of the immigration mechanic for the Latin American civs, which feels more elaborate imo, and is probably going to be even more so in the next updates. The Federal State Age Up mechanic feels like the Age Up mechanic of America, Canada, and Australia from WoL, only with two cards instead of one tech, and no new exclusive unit. State Militia seems to be a more defensive version of WoL British Redcoats. And the Book crates are also present in WoL, but gives Faith (similar to Favor from AoM). There's also a crate that gives experience in WoL, but it's exclusively acquired from a Native Site. US civ still looks interesting, though.
WoL?
@@maartencuyvers6017 A mod called War of Liberty.
Unique(=strong) army and navy Units,
Unique(=Shamelessly Efficient) shipment,
Unique(=Resouce generating) Buildings,
Unique(=More option then other nations) Age up,
Unique(=Even use other nations good things Shamelessly) Immigration option.
Long story short. It's OP as HELL. Shamelessly.
yeah seems a bit much for one civ, i like all of the ideas for this civ but it will make them really hard to balance
All set for the most broken civ at release, will be worse than Sweden was...
Its USA, what did you expect?? This was one of the reasons I had for not adding US, OP as hell
surely you can just know that with your galaxy balance brain
Kappa
Am i the oly one who isnt so sure about this one? I think it was working just fine as a revolution of the british, and that it was perfect in the vibe of the game as that, instead of an op civ by itself
What do you mean not sure about it?
who else more excited about this than age of empires 4?
I'm curious as to why the AOE3 devs decided to include United States as a civ when it was better represented as a revolution. This seemingly slowly sends the revolution mechanic into oblivion.
If they can make other revolution nation more unique and powerful, like Mexico or Brazil.
American sharpshooters should be able to camouflage due to guerrilla tactics they did to the british
TBH I hate the minutmen mechanic that USA has, it allows them to harash in age 1 and in rebuild army very fast, also Im not sure if I like the inmigration mechanic, it kills a bit of the special perks that has each nation.
Yep here comes the bullshit that’ll make Sweden’s release seem balanced...
I mean i like the mechanic about taking perks of other nations because that is what the US is, a cultural mix that all european countries migrated to and influenced, maybe the big inmigration to the country happened more into the 1900 than the 1700ish that the game says it covers (plus that flag is totally innacurate, that flag was used after 1795, so that is a timeline that goes out of the game)
oh god just reliased what can age 1 100 hp minuteman do. kill the explorer and then you're set to harass villagers
@@davidpereira5969 they do limited damage to villagers but they will lose 1-2 if they fight or be forced to idle, either way you win
@@francocaronte8811 Well, to be fair, Napoleon was Emperor of France in the early 19th century, so I dont think its just the 1700s
Really impressed by the developers. I went in cold and had no clue as to the unique aspects, and hence I was slow. Twice my TC was rushed and I was shocked to see I could call Minutemen a second time. And now I know why! :) Great video. Subscribed. Take Care.
Another broken civ is joinning the swedes train
Oh but it’ll be so much worse than Sweden
The Swedes might be broken but they fit the games timeline perfectly, the US is not only broken it is completely misplaced
@@EpicMetalTime Swedes are strong but manageable now... and now that we have hit a point where there is almost balance they’ve decided to smash that to pieces...
Although that lack of subtlety, tact or thought does fit the US strangely well haha
@CaptainHeckYeah They didn't exist till the late 1700. This whole thing is made to force sales and to satisfy some nationalistic ego in the USA. What is going to happen is that people will sabotage this faction somehow. It is possible to make the USA beat the dust in the game, some angry gammers have done it, really good players and I fear when the USA players get that tactics they will easyly counteract. But is not balanced, cowboys are OP. Mechanics are in the faction are OP.
You can also encounter the United states if England changes to the United States in Revolutions.
So there can be 2 USA player son the same map, but your United States would be unique
Where is the oil well mechanic hahaha
I like it for sure but i think its a bit forced into the game ... what does the unitated states do in the 1600?? And we still don't have italians or other civs that fit much more
I thought when hearing the rumors about the US being added was that it was a bad idea. Now I take it all back and I'm excited for them.
Really? I thought the idea was cool, now seen it and hope they nerf them into the fucking ground ASAP before everyone abuses them to inflate their ranks...
I hated it when i heard they were being added and after seeing some videos i hate them even more
It looks like a mix from Wars of Liberty Hapsburg and South America immigrants
gating gun that dont reload in a treaty game where people dont usually micro? IM SOLD.
Sound like it's gonna be broken for a few months
Or forever... time shall tell
Every new civ is broken at first, accept France.. broken since start.. haha
@@andreasjonsson3419 different levels of broken though...
@@luggy9256, yes I looked at the USA vid and saw that they can have a total of 30 cards... insane
@@andreasjonsson3419 but it’s worse than 30 total cards, because they get 10 flex cards to pick and chose every game, there is a 20 card deck plus 4 lots of 10 cards to pick as the game goes on...
In other words they get almost 2 extra decks worth of flex cards to pick during the game...
So...what happens to the united states revolution as the British? Can they still do it? Is it removed?
I want to know this too
I like the fact that you changed your name to "American Drongo" in the game for this video lol
This is basically a "european greatest hits" civ and i don't mean that as a compliment. This has to be a joke, i can't believe they actually added US as a starting civ. I'm baffled.
Ah the iron clad was known from the civil war, not the revolution. Not complaining just pointing that out.
He was referring to the shipment of iron clad which is available if you choose to do revolution as United States.
Very interesting! I wonder if the British are still going to have the option to revolt as the United States, now that they’ve been added as a full civ.
So is it technically a European civilization with some differences or is it a brand new civilization category exclusive to USA only?
I've been trying out builds centerd around minutemen marines, surprisingly good!
My RUclips is flooded with drongo videos, good day, good day
Now I want more North America civs like Canada and even Mexico. An applause to AOE3 Developers!!
Canada would be just a mix of brits and french which dsnt make anything new or you can count sioux/iroquois, if you want mexico then go play aztec they are like native mexicans😁
Now you have Mexico, isnt that great :)
@@Alexander-en9zv yes! Mexico is one of my main civs. Now I wish for Canada! Haha.
@@ivancarrillo8809 Yes, Canada would be nice
@@AfrQTV so...you were saying something about Mexico and the Aztecs, can you come again?
British revolted to US vs US would be awkward
Probably a Civil War.
Oh wow this sounds really interesting. Crazy III got new official civ so many years after release. I remember changing my OS from W98 to Windows XP for this game. Cray-zee.
15 videos. wtf drongo
Microsoft: We are bringing you new civs and mechanics
Wars of Liberty: but those are mechanics and civs we already though about and ours are even better programmed
Microsoft: well yeah, whos hungry? I got a AoE 4 stream
Then they should also add another country that got their independence from another colonizer such as brazil, mexico or something like that, but if that the case, then 'revolt' mechanic should abolished maybe
I was already excited for this civ, being an American myself. Now, I absolutely can’t wait to play this! They did a good job introducing a new civ that’s unique enough to make pretty much anyone want to try it. I suspect even the haters might like it once they give it a test run 😜
But they are realy overpowered and might break the game
@@lunabork5909 Exactly, does anyone understand at all the idea of game balance and why it is necessary for a fun game? It certainly appears NOT. Instead just pump out OP DLC which doesn't keep in line with the genius design of Emsemble back in the day. The designers themselves admitted they make new civs op on purpose to generate sales. Anyone who thinks this civ will be balanced needs a reality check.
A lot of people will be FORCED to try this civ to remain competitive in ranked because it’s overloaded as fuck, so there will be a lot of haters and for a damn good reason...
@@luggy9256 Why would you be 'forced' to use an OP civ? I am forced to never use an OP civ because I consider it cheating. When I win I want it to be because I outplayed my opponent, not because I chose an OP civ. No one on earth gives a rat's ass what your 'aoe 3 rank' is. That's why I have never played as Japan, Incas or Sweden and have no plans to until they are balanced such that people aren't constantly laming them in ranked.
@@100toeface but when the civ is just all around a better version of all the others then you are basically forced to play it because it can counter everything you throw at it.
The USA should have stayed a revolution civ, which actually makes sense. This does not. Devs are ruining the game.
how to force MP players pay for every new DLC?
always make new civ OP "by mistake" first. give it time until you adjust "following player feedback"
Probably would've been worth a shot to see what happens when there's a veto civ option in quicksearch.
I can definitely see Tilanus’s handiwork in this Civ. More or less what it was in NE.
Turn it up turn it up turn it up!
American Drongo general, I like that.
I mean, the flag, the carbine, the ironclad, all of that is post 1800, and i though that the game was about the 1400 to 1700, i dont like this, is a civ that breaks AoE3 as a saga, this US is more for a 1750 to 1900 game, not a 1400 to 1700, its just dumb to see the spanish fight with rodeleros and pikemen and the US just arrives and get 1860 carbines, 1863 ironclads, 1862 gatling guns and 1830 paddle ships
The game does reach into the 1850s but still the US are better as a revolution option than a main civ. Can't believe they actually added this mess of a civ.
OK good that there making something unique with the USA. So I am a bit more positive now. Still.. I do think is a bit off the theme.
Well well well I might just get DE now...
United States Playable Faction in DE are inspired from Wars of Liberty Mods ;)
#woah
Best race ever, sharpshooters are busted in stalemates
I hope one day they make my Brazil full civ.... It will be my patriotic duty to buy the DLC!!!!!
Ok so I was kind of skeptical. I still think that historically and lore-wise it makes very little sense, but the DEPTH of the civ is quite insane! Can't wait to try them out. Thanks for the vids Drongo!
happy they added immigration cards but i can already see things will be nerfed in the first patch
Because they’re busted as fuck?
I think a good second for this civ would be Brazil. Similar to how there are many different civilizations per continent/culture group.
Is there a final date until I have to complete the challanges, to get the DLC for free? I am quite bussy this month
does anyone know when the challenge is supposed to drop? i have a bombard challenge up on my thing right now?
@@raymondfernholz367 4/13
Aussie is George washington voiced by Arkantos again? New voice lines or old ones from the campaign?
This civ is so unique!! My mind is completely changed, I love the USA addition!!!
You are in the future.
And we have Regulars, guys with cool pants!
content drop of the year
Have been playing AOE2 forever, picked up AOE three definitive today. Had time to play three quick skirmishes to get a feel, its diff but it’s similar. So far i like it. But watching this has got me extremely interested in features I didn’t know existed. And in USA! So thanks for these videos. One really dumb question: why do all the maps seem so tiny compared to AOE2? am I missing something?
So this is for-real for-real??
hey how do you get this civ for free again?
Is it released and available now?
4/13
@@cnp12 thanks
does this DLC provide a new "story" mode? or is it just a new country to use for multi-player or historical battle?
Not a fan really, too different compared to other civs
And going to be hell to balance, be months before it’s not bs...
Cowboys in age2!?? Thats like early goons! we're all doomed!
This civ looks very unique and im very impressed. I wasnt super hyped for them at first, now I am
So MC Murica hops on the sweeden train. I am hyped for aoe4.
I think Drongo is more excited for the US civ than actual USians lol
Haha I think Americans is the proper colloquial term.
The going to the next time reminds me of AoM
I like the card and age up ideas, but they get way too many unique units. Unique goon, skirm, musk, caravel, and galleon? Plus gatling gun? Keep in mind that Dutch get one unique unit, Britain and France get a whopping two.
Also, there's not really any rationale for giving them a *stronger* musketeer, let alone a unique one. If anything, American regulars should be weaker than e.g. Brit or French musks.
After von Steuben started training American units in Prussian drill and tactics, American regulars were on par with European infantry. Von Steuben served in a Free Battalion. Many Americans had experience in frontier fighting. Combined with von Steuben's training, Americans were able to outfight the British in later battles. Research the assaults on the redoubts at Yorktown.
@@jacquesstrapp3219 doesn't explain why they get three unique infantry units, including a unique musketeer, while the other civs at most get one, and some no muskets at all.
@@patsy02 Since the US has historically been big on firearms, it seems appropriate to be focused on that type of unit. I think the regulars should have had a firepower bonus instead of a hit point bonus though. European infantry focused on discipline and cohesion while American infantry focused on accuracy and firepower. Having sharpshooters and stronger militia makes sense to me. For play balance purposes, I would like to see more unique units in the game. For example, give the British the green jackets.
This civ is gonna be broken at launch isn't it.
crazy how many new features, ideas and stuff they put in ONE civ. like you could have distributed that stuff on 5 other civs. Quite excited to be honest
it sounds broken and probably needs to be balanced many times.
OP
So are they going to buff all the other civs now? To compete with US. I like all the new features with its just broken asf.
Basic, is Wars of Liberty Mod mechanics, amazing
Aren't Immigration cards a Napoleonic Era mechanic?
The question is do they have the balls to do Paraguay. I loved them in WoL
Hi.
We will get new maps too or just the United States civilization?
I mean scirmish maps too.
When is the last day to start doing the challenges to unlock USA? Is it there for a month?
The Ironclad is from the American Civil War not the Revolutionary War.
Murica is finally playable
Absolutely disgusting. Don't get me wrong, the ideas and uniqueness of the civ is great, but it seems that balance was thrown out of the window while making it. At this point, it seems producers don't give a shit about long-term health of the game, but instead wants to make quick cash while it's still alive and be done with it. This civ will totally break the game for minimum half a year if not longer, and will require serious tone down.
I'm looking at them from a treaty perspective and they have a fairly strong looking military but aside from some of the immigrant cards their late game eco will leave something to be desired. That being said, any civ that trades can generally live off of that unless your match turns into a complete slog.
@@viktorbarney6795 The standard for keeping balance, and the backbone of game itself is 1v1. And this thing is not healthy for that. Obviously, they will nerf it overtime, and maybe at some point it will become alright balance wise. But since the player base is small, DLC like this that breaks the game do more harm than good, in my opinion. Unless it brings a whole new crowd, which I seriously doubt.
Do you need have the Microsoft account linked to AoE3 to unlock/keep the US civilization?
Finally, the raging fire of democracy
I wasn't digging it at first but my mind has been changed. Welcome USA!!
Till they get nerfed into the ground in the first patch after their release...
when are the aoe 4 videos coming drongo?! i understand the US takes priority as you are mr aoe 3 but when they gonna be a thing mr drongo?
wonder if there is a USA unit that throw bottles or six packs of beer at the enemie soldiers?
To be onest, I'm disappointed. I don't like very much how they implemented the US in the game. Some of their unique features are cool and well thought, like the exp crates, or the immigrants feature, but others like the general/explorer, or the flag feature seems a lot exagerated and based on cliches onestly. Also, the american continent was already well explored, while europe is still ignored (at least we'll get africa...). I'll try them anyway of course, and buy the DLC (I know I can get it for free, but I think that for that affordable price the game deserves all the the supports form who can afford it) but nothing will ever dislodge sweden from my heart.
Even if I wanted, I don't have that much time to play that much and do a game a day, not even one a week. And anyway, new civs aren't made out of thin air, if we want to hope that they'll keep releasing content, we can't think that it'll be for free.
they should add Brazil and Gran Colombia
What happens to the revolution option for the United States? Does it get removed?
So whats happen to the USA revolution? Is it replaced?
