He did both. He sent armies to two SS and then the major push to his base. As he put it himself: "I'm gonna hit him with the three-pronged attack".

NONE of you guys see that beasty decapped the bottom sacred site at 44:28 . THAT is the reason SAS surrendered, cause he could not push into beasty base with what he had left, not because beasty was in SAS base.
I think SAS could not defend beasty's base trade army at that point as well since SAS' production is camped by the elephants. Basically beasty won over SAS on all three fronts: he defended SAS' main army into his base, his base trade army stands firm enough to potentially kill SAS' landmarks, and he decapped SS to have an upper hand in win timer. That was really peak strategic decision making, probably one of the cleanest I've seen in any RTS matches
SAS didn't surrender, Beasy killed the king. You can see the king die on screen in the last second.
Holy moly, Beasty was base racing, neutralizing the SS and took out the king all at the same time. What a GIGACHAD

I think for FFA, less rules is better. Running with the king is fun, even on a transport ship, and leads to more unique situations
Problem with king donations isn't that you don't get a king you think you deserve. The problem is that if you intentionally give your king to a specific player, you are teaming by definition. And not teaming to win, literally teaming to boost another player. Which is never allowed. King donations (if it's obviously intentional) should be treated the same as teaming.
Especially for tournaments.
(for regular games too, but tournament big impact)
I can’t play ffa because it’s always people teaming up. Some people like the politics, me personally I think chat should be turned off. But I don’t play ffa anymore…usually do all the work not reaping the benefits lol
I agree that donations aren't fun. I think it's fine to run a king away and accept as part of this there is a risk it might get taken out by someone else but no one should be sending a king purposely into enemy territory as a gift.

I love watching this after watching Beasty's POV where he was casting the fight between SAS and green using his scouts to watch the battle. I can see the little yellow spots running around greens base so he can watch the fight while he booms
the apm at the end from beasty... you could see how overwhelmed sas was in comparison
SAS made some good moves especially recognising that he needed to hit Vu early rather then mesing around trying to get Beasty on board to team up (which would have given Vu the chance to hit 300+ pop)
I dont get why transport ships shouldn't be allowed to keep the king, there were SO many interesting things that happened with transport ship kings in OO2
uuurm, it's not a tap out right? Sas's king gets sniped under the chaos. (Dude even neutralized the SS during all of that). An absolute legend.

For Outback Octagon - Can you make it so you don't have a king but a designated capital that can be switched between TC's and Keeps. That allows you to move within your base but not run into an enemies.
You asked your question with exactly the right wording in this video, Drongo; because I don't mind King Donations so much in a NORMAL game. But in a tournament, in a competitive setting like Outback Octagon where money's on the line and helping one player and screwing another literally costs people money, you cannot, CANNOT allow King Donations.
If you allow that you're gonna create a sort of bad blood that makes people not even want to show up to your competitive environment to begin with. Not to mention you're gonna create some real out-of-game animosity I wouldn't recommend between players who have to interact regularly.

A king should go down with their ship, not abandon the town. I think for FFA, starting when the first TC is built, TCs, towers, and keeps should have their furthest attack range aura work like a king checker as well. Meaning if a king isn't inside the aura of a nearby defensive structure, it'll take damage over time like Malian poison or something.
Also, if a player is mid or late game and getting their base sieged, and they knowingly evacuate the king to avoid hostile units, the king shouldn't make a run for the wilderness unless there's a legitimate proxy base or defensive hold to run to.
Similarly, in the situation at 23:06 if the player is knowingly exposing their king in a tournament where king kills matter (even in a situation where 3 armies are in your base), they should be aware enough to at least run the king in the direction away from all enemies, which would've been east/north-east at 23:06 . For that example, Beasty and SAS both had units chasing with the speed of cavalry, so they don't have a skill issue when chasing the king. However, Liems flagrantly donated the king to Vu by slowing down, then obviously running directly into greens army. It may have been a micro mistake at the time. But even so, they're playing in a tourney and made the dangerous move to manually move their king, so they should be responsible if their king acts unusually and runs directly towards enemy spears.
Thank you if you take the time to read this, I think these conditions are a fair solution.

maybe in addition to awarding points for king kills, award points based on how long a king survives? Like, if I'm going to lose a round of FFA assuredly, I could still try to eek out some points by sticking in it, so I don't want to give my king away.
I think leaving the king in the transport ship is fine.
Its obvious its gonna happen on water maps so is it really unfairness that the defender does it when the attacker should obviously make a few ships to take care of that

Should reduce points for intentional king donation, it’s the same as teaming.
I think gifting kings could be (mostly) stopped under a "no resigning, stay alive as long as possible" rule. It might be a skill issue for the person who misses the king, but that doesn't mean it's not scummy by the person who does the donating.

If you don't want king donation, don't use king mode. If you want a win condition that isnt mobile there is the traditional approach, just say you loose when your main tc goes down, and it awards 50 pop. If it is movable, then don't penalize players for moving it

It's really hard to decide on donations, especially because it can be hard to decide what's a donation.
When someone's running their king away, there's a decent chance that they'll end up running toward another player when they're being chased. Should they be required to just stop and let the initial player kill the king?
I think the ideal solution (though logistically more difficult) is to have a council of sorts (3 or 5 people) to make calls in situations where it seems like someone might have donated, but even then, it's only something that can be viably done after the game so it doesn't negate the impact of the donation on the game in question.

The worst king donation, and i see it all the time, is someone pushes you, you defend, push them back and by the time you get there, they have already run the king to someone else. It puts you so far behind and you get nothing for it.
why did it show 0 scholars for beasty if he had at least 4 of them speeding up the sultan elephants?
maybe a rule where you can't extract your km ng if a bunch of melee units attack his house
