Austria-Hungary and German Empire are my favorite due to how they progress and work when combined (not very well, which is fun cus you have to work around your ally’s shortcomings)
A request: Could you review or list which are the most independently aggressive paths? I ask this to answer the question: How much of a "Free for all" can I make the vanilla game without the battle royale mod? Rule 1 - Gives you the most aggressive expansion options out of any other path in your tree (How do you get the absolute maximum land area, including cores, claims, and puppets, war with most possible countries on a individual basis) Rule 2 - The path focuses on the nation taking an 'independent' direction, typically making a faction of its own, or never joining one.
I think it's best for Atlas to wait for the release of the new Germany DLC, it will add communist paths for Germany, Austria, Congo, Belgium and improve the Hungarian communist path (maybe even a Luxembourg surprise tree)
France is interesting, it feels like it's on the edge of "needs a rework" I love it, but the monarchist paths especially are undercooked, and it can feel so long at the end. Great video, would love to see more like it.
I like monarchist paths because it's neither a cringe ideology (like fascism and communism) but actually allows you to be proactive (unlike democracies) And the Bulgarian royalist path should be much higher than 22. Having the ability to forcefully puppet and axnnex all your neighbors without firing a single shot is insanely good, and the passive compliance gain of the bulgarian patriarchate allows you to create collab governments in ANY country. Add onto that the fact that you get 40% of their factories on top of the standard 75% for collab governments, and that you can use their manpower as you please, it is basically very similar to coring them. As for the Napoleonic path, I wish it could get similar bonuses as those just above, since Napoleon the 1st was described as a potential world hegemon, so it would fit his ambitions.
In my mind, naming the French Napoleonic faction "Confédération du Rhin" is like how the Soviet Union's faction in the Cold War was the "Warsaw Pact". But I understand why it seems odd.
The thing is fascist UK has the ability to secure the Dominions but the Monarchist don't, which bogles the mind since Canada, Australia and New Zealand still have the royal family it would make more sense to me that the dominions would be more hostile to a fascist regime then a monarchist one but that could be my bias coming through
This is really well made and a bit out of the ordinary in terms of the regular hoi4 content on youtube which are mostly just playthroughs or silly focus trees, I don't play hoi4 that much anymore but I will probably watch this video to the end. Also Denmark in the top 5 🔥
One thing you forgot is that Denmark has a secret formable. Best parh is: Do north sea empire, you get all nordics still through the denmark ask if you want to be a puppet. Then when you get all of the hansa league territories and then form Dansk stor rige. Best Denmark path. Still sad that they removed the ability to do all Denmark formables. Which would give you cores on all of sweden and Finland instead of just scania, while still doing north sea.
Good video, but I believe there is an error in 1:44 It says basic focuses > unique focuses, shouldn’t it be the reverse? Anyway, I love your videos keep them coming (as long as you are comfortable)
Short remake with Götterdämmerung? Personally i like the German Empire path and the 3rd French Empire but i think that Paradox must rework this last (for the moment i use France Completed mod to have a greater focus tree)
Fun fact: Mexico had two empires. The first was ruled by Augustine I of Mexico, and covered the southern United States to Costa Rica. The second Empire was that of Maximilian of Habsburg and was an attempt to make a French puppet in the region, but the Republic of Benito Juarez undermined that plan.
The orleanist path gives plus two building slots on a lot more States than just paris, you just need to fully build them up and then you'll see it starts granting more building slots.
For me all monarchist path are cool, some more, some less, but my three favorite monarchist paths are the napoleonic Path for France, carlist Path for Spain and the Habsburg Path for Austria-Hungary. Cool video 👍
Also I like how the Kaiserreich path mirrors Bismarck and his political maneuvering... at least compared to Hitler who blundered so much by underestimating the Soviets and the US.
28. Is pretty fun to do with some friends, one friend plays Portugal and conquers Brazil with the right-most path so they can core all of Brazil, then one friend plays as Carlist Spain and beats up Portugal and gains all Portugal cores (including Brazil), the 3rd friend plays Bourbon France and beats up Spain, now gaining cores on all of Spain, Portugal, Brazil, and all of their colonies. Now you can go for co-op on France and beat up every other Faction as a 3 man one country play through
With the Götterdämmerung expansion reviving the kaiserreich is significantly the most powerful monarchist path in the game now, I would go so far to say that it is likely the most OP path for Germany too, as you can slowly form a monarchist European Union.
Hey! I just wanted to say theres a technically 3rd path for Bulgaria! If you go Bulgaria, choose oppose to the monqrch, go democratic way, you can still get the option to get Simeon or the return of Ferdinand the first, after that, rush to ally with greece and form the united balkan confederation (i dont remember the name) That makes you annex by the diplomatic mode All the Balkans(and maybe Turkey). Also giving cores in every balkan state including albania, Zara, and Istria in Italian Hands, and you can annex Turkey(if they didnt join) completing a focus after the return of King Ferdinand, Its maybe a rlly good path that gives you some good bonuses and a fun game if you play it correctly
To be fair though, you can expand as Bulgaria with Boris aswell. The axis will just agree to hand over their conquered balkan territory to you, without you even having to join the war
Two quibbles: - Cossack Poland gets you the strongest cavalry in the game. - Manchuria vs Japan and China at the same time is a deeply satisfying fight to win. Then, since you're a united China, you get to do whatever you want. Also Puyi's pimp cane.
the Cossack king can be one of the most OP nations you can get if done the right way, makes carvery op where I took over the whole world with carvery better with non-historic along as you set a the Baltics to historic, since the leader gets 15% attack and defense with carvery, you can make your leader a field marshal too to lead your first army, make sure to set all units to carvery tho you get a free template you can edit and make really good
I love Brazil. The Monarchist path ends with coring all that land in either the friendly or aggressive sub-paths. But it's worth mentioning that the friendly path is also open to the Democratic and non-aligned paths too (and obviously the Fascist path gets the aggressive sub-path too lol)
Any chance you can rate all Democratic paths and all Communist paths? I’ve seen some insanely powerful and fun Communist and Democratic paths… and some that leave me wondering “If not the historical AI needing something to do, why would anyone willingly play/do this!?”
Another thing that the Polish Habsburg path has going for it is the Soldier King. These boni are quite strong. And work surprisingly well with the exiled government mechanics, in case you want to capitulate and go into exile in the UK (to get the Warsaw uprising cheevo maybe).
One of my favorite monarchist path was the french legitimist one because it allowed to annex and core spain in 1938, meaning it left you in a perfect position to build up and defend yourself alongside the allies. Too bad that paradox recently completely ruined everything (banning communism doesn't stop the civil war anymore. And since it is required to intervene in spain in historical to make the carlist spawn you will always get bellow 25% stability and have a civil war ruining everything)
Fun fact: Simeon II is still alive, making him the only hoi4 leader that can actually play himself
But to play himself Simeon would need to make a coup against his father and kill him, i don't think this poor old man would survive such trauma

MY FAVORITE HOI4 RUclipsR POSTED!
No way the goat just posted on this channel
I love you
but you are my favourite hoi4 youtuber
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS MAN. I remember seeing one and thinking “oh this is cool” then saw your sub count. Keep doing what you do man. Remember me when you are as big as bittersteel, and others. This is top tier.
At 2:47 i agree with you as a Romanian he was one of the worst kings cause he kept throwing parties
i mean you can do the all parties must come to an end focus or however its called
@@LamasareBRW3 Yeah b it historically Our King did a lot of parties and did nothing he was the only bad king in my opinion tough
Rule 1 - Gives you the most aggressive expansion options out of any other path in your tree (How do you get the absolute maximum land area, including cores, claims, and puppets, war with most possible countries on a individual basis)
Rule 2 - The path focuses on the nation taking an 'independent' direction, typically making a faction of its own, or never joining one.
Picking a bear as your leader sounds like the most Polish thing ever
I will never forgive him for leaving Wojtek out of 1st place
Puyi kicking the Japanese out by summoning 100000 loyalists is so stupid, he was a manchild with zero charisma, couldn't even tie his shoes.
Now do every communist path in HOI4
I think it's best for Atlas to wait for the release of the new Germany DLC, it will add communist paths for Germany, Austria, Congo, Belgium and improve the Hungarian communist path (maybe even a Luxembourg surprise tree)
France is interesting, it feels like it's on the edge of "needs a rework" I love it, but the monarchist paths especially are undercooked, and it can feel so long at the end.
Great video, would love to see more like it.
Loving the content!! Something refreshing and new!!
This video is so well made, we’ve been needing something hoi4 like this for a long while
This guy is gonna be big. I’m telling you
I like monarchist paths because it's neither a cringe ideology (like fascism and communism) but actually allows you to be proactive (unlike democracies)
And the Bulgarian royalist path should be much higher than 22.
Awesome video. Cool to watch and high quality
another amazing video by atlasproductions
This channel is always great so new, but I look forward to every upload!
In my mind, naming the French Napoleonic faction "Confédération du Rhin" is like how the Soviet Union's faction in the Cold War was the "Warsaw Pact". But I understand why it seems odd.
You deserve more attention. Your Video is really really good!
The thing is fascist UK has the ability to secure the Dominions but the Monarchist don't, which bogles the mind since Canada, Australia and New Zealand still have the royal family it would make more sense to me that the dominions would be more hostile to a fascist regime then a monarchist one but that could be my bias coming through
I just come to leave my comment before this channel becomes one of the most famous in the Hoi4 community.
Great video! Would it be possible for you to do the same but with other idealogies? Keep up the great work.
THE GOAT UPLOADED!!! 🗣️🔥🔥
The fact that you can core Quebec as Chile but not as France is painful
bro has made 3,5 videos and they are all ABSOLUTE BANGERS 🔥
AtlasProductions uploaded!!
VIDA LONGA AO IMPÉRIO 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
I loved the video, your editing is wonderful ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Comunismo mt mais divônico
Your content is so good, please make more videos!
This is really well made and a bit out of the ordinary in terms of the regular hoi4 content on youtube which are mostly just playthroughs or silly focus trees, I don't play hoi4 that much anymore but I will probably watch this video to the end. Also Denmark in the top 5 🔥
Extremely good editing! 💪
You make the best hoi4 videos
Super high quality video. Commenting for algorithm
I remember having a really fun game down the Oranje Boven line, the Kaiser Unit defectors from Germany was also crazy useful
I’d love to see more videos like this for the other paths.
dang this needs an update badly now, after Gotterdammrung.
One thing you forgot is that Denmark has a secret formable.
Best parh is:
Do north sea empire, you get all nordics still through the denmark ask if you want to be a puppet.
Then when you get all of the hansa league territories and then form Dansk stor rige.
Best Denmark path.
Still sad that they removed the ability to do all Denmark formables.
Which would give you cores on all of sweden and Finland instead of just scania, while still doing north sea.
22:54 There is a focus that lets you send volunteers, but of course you can't easily force Carlist Spain to pop out like you can with France.
the way you ranked them is so perfect apart from maybe germany and brazil apart from its extremely accurate
Good video, but I believe there is an error in 1:44
It says basic focuses > unique focuses, shouldn’t it be the reverse?
Anyway, I love your videos keep them coming (as long as you are comfortable)
Damn you're right. I do in fact like unique focuses more than basic ones :D
Why do you prefer basic focuses over unique focuses? Shouldnt it be the opposite?
Brazil mentioned !1!1!1!1🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Now you can go for co-op on France and beat up every other Faction as a 3 man one country play through
You have 3 friends that play MP hoi4 with you? Lucky duck
@@naturalbornpatriot6369 No just 2 friends, one for Portugal and one for Spain
I like this format, could you do a communists next ? I know it would much longer video (And we would need to even include basic focus tree...)
Thank you for making this video.
i absolutely love this video :D
Please make an updated version for Götterdämmerung, those monarchist paths are so great.
Thanks for the great content once again
Fun fact: 5:00 this is actually the path Romania took in real life, so points to that!
Bae wake up new underrated god tier content of hoi4 dropped
Waiting for a next video :(
BTW this could turn into a nice series...
Byzantine empire is underrated. Its challenging in the beginning and can make you very powerful.
To be fair though, you can expand as Bulgaria with Boris aswell. The axis will just agree to hand over their conquered balkan territory to you, without you even having to join the war
Two quibbles:
- Cossack Poland gets you the strongest cavalry in the game.
- Manchuria vs Japan and China at the same time is a deeply satisfying fight to win. Then, since you're a united China, you get to do whatever you want.
Also Puyi's pimp cane.
At 10:41, why are Italy and Tibet switched? And China and Lithuania? And Guanxi Clique and Iran? And Honduras and Mongolia?
33:30 they alway's say no so good luck with that buddy
the Cossack king can be one of the most OP nations you can get if done the right way, makes carvery op where I took over the whole world with carvery better with non-historic along as you set a the Baltics to historic, since the leader gets 15% attack and defense with carvery, you can make your leader a field marshal too to lead your first army, make sure to set all units to carvery tho you get a free template you can edit and make really good
What you're forgetting woth the oranje boven path is that ending the war causes that puppet to gain independence unless you are in a faction iirc
You put bulgaria too low. The master impact bonus Ferdinand gets is extremely fun
I love Brazil. The Monarchist path ends with coring all that land in either the friendly or aggressive sub-paths. But it's worth mentioning that the friendly path is also open to the Democratic and non-aligned paths too (and obviously the Fascist path gets the aggressive sub-path too lol)
I love this guy's videos
If you wait for a bit to do focus for stability, you can get just enought stability to not trigger the automatic civil war
@@thzpp6845 If you wait too long Carlist Spain wont spawn because the nationalists usually take the north very quickly meaning no cores on Spain.
24:10 The Kingdom of Holland was an independant country from 1806 to 1810, he was ruled by Louis Napoléon.
