    1.)Banks also don’t take from your pop. So you don’t have to build as many houses and can focus your villies to hunts and use that extra wood on trappers
    2.) they don’t run out resources like mines and are cheaper than plantations In the long run. Plantation require settlers and settlers cost resources and pop.
    3.) you can make banks faster than villies .every second a head can make a big difference.
    4.) you can make villies while you make your banks

      You can see my comment in his '1v1 deck building guide' . I gave him some ideas on how to make civ gradings. I am posting that comment below tell me if you like it:
      @Aussie_Drongo After this series is finished can you start doing civ overviews and grade and rank them? I just had some ideas I would like to share with you.
      @t can grade Infantry, Cavalry and Artillery considering homecity shipments. Like german cav is stronger bcoz 3 homecity cavalry attack shipments boost their cav stats by 45% and hence their WW have 92 attack and Uhlan 94 attack. Whereas Spanish cav is weaker bcoz they dont have much homecity support nor they have royal guard status. For Natives like aztecs and Inca consider their cavalry equivalent like Coyote runners and Eagle runner knights. Swedes although have weak miliitary but their merceneraies are just insane. With mercenery contractor their landsknect have 99 attack and Fusiliers have 129 attack with 114 siege! Its like grenadier musketeer hybrid. This makes swedes a strong military civs so considering homecity is important.
      2. Another category can be Defences which can be on various factors. Russians can be considered to have strong defence due to their instantly spawning infantry which can defend the town at any moment. Incas have strong defence due to their 8 town centres.
      3. This category should include economy and talk about how strong a civs economy is in early, middle and late game. Like aztecs can have good early economy due to their warrior priests they can generate extra XP by dances and hence get shipments more quickly. with their extra shipment get 3 warrior priests and use them to produce villagers quickly and reach 80 vils in Age 2 only. Brits obviously have good early economy.
      4. In all above categories you can subdivide into early game , middle game and late game. Like swedes have weak early game military (Absence of crossbows). Better middle game as high attack hakkapelits come in . And very strong lategame military due to their merceneries.
      These are some ideas which might help you you may or may not include them. BTW thanks if you made this far to my commment.

    On a side note, shrines in age 4 can be upgraded with Tempo Reforms which increases gather rate of Shrines and the Toshogu Shrine by +350% food, +300% wood, and +300% coin. With kami heaven, Toshogu shrine and this card, your base trickle rate for wood is 0.5s, the equivalent of an un-upgraded settler on wood. With 4 hunts it can reach 0.78 per shrine which is nothing to scoff at, especially if you can control a reasonable 50% of the hunts on the map. Don't worry everyone forgets about it, including me mid game. :p

    I think you can also mention Incans on water, the card the makes Chincha Raft able to build boats makes their navy very flexible and mobile.
    Considering you go full on wood at age 2 to stack your houses, you have a lot to spare on boats and you only have to build 1 port when Chincha can be used to create more boats.
    Furthermore, they have a bunch of fish and navy home city card also.

    i think the Portuguese should be higher in the tier list, the fact that every age up you get free 500wood in theory and tc which can be very useful to protect vills, and on top of that your vill production X2 X3 X4 on each age, means you get to use the wood invest into eco upgrades and other buildings or units. The extra vills you get overtime will never be caught up to be anyone other than maybe the British. In boom match up, having saved time at not delivering 1000wood and time to build two tc means you have vills doing other types of gathering and replace the shipment with a royal mint or refrigeration. aoe2 aging up to 3rd age and building two tc was the best boom ever. and here you get two for free and one already build by the time you get to age 3. Also the fact you can keep production vills while aging up is just as broken as the Asian civs.
    thank you for join my ted talk

      Portuguese don't get a villager shipment which means their early boom is much slower than other civs. On land maps they really struggle and in particular have very bad matchups against ALL the top tier booming civs.

    Aztec war priest boom is worth of 20 villagers communing and 11 tps on XP ceremony. You can have this by the 5min30 6min. With fertility ceremony you get +158% villagers production which is the equivalent of 2.5 and can be boosted to even more with more vills.

    I would've thought Ottomans would be a bit higher. They start off a bit slow, but with settler cards, free settlers, and the millet upgrades, by age 3 you can really pop off. They wouldn't be top tiered, but they pick up a lot of speed when more tcs go down.

    • @clementdenis4212

      Otto will never reach the settler production rate of ports for example. The difference being that while ports are spending time all their ressources booming, Otto is making units.

    • @Portulak007
      @Portulak007 3 года назад

      While im more of a average player, I still do think, that the ottomans can boom pretty good in a ff tactic.
      I usually go for a outpost for the extra xp + mosque in the first age and then age up asap with the outpost and 200 gold.
      I collect extra 100 gold with treasure and immediately go age 3 with the 700 gold from the hc.
      When im age 3 I send the 1000 wood and 1 wagon so I can build up 3 more tc.
      The booming comes automatically after this, since the constant and free villagerproduction with 4 tc is pretty good.
      I always and up with most economic points in the game but then again: Im only an average player. Guess it falls off in higher ranked games

    Great video! Could you make a video on comparing the economy a bit further? For example, in 7:41 we can see that China is quite far down in the C-Tier. However, as you have pointed out in your recent China video, aswell as being obvious in the recent game of H20 vs Soldier in China vs Portugal, economy is not just about booming. Because features like Porcelain tower, which provide 8 villagers on Wood, the Summer palace, which provides free armies and Confuzius Academy or factories all add up to your economy and can be translated into ressources and villager-seconds.
    I would also be very interested in a short overview about Export for the Asian civilisations. How valuable exactly is export? We could measure it for example if we look at the usual Consulate Shipments: Besteiros from Japan, Redcoats from China. But there are even more possible economic bonuses like reduced villager train time, reduced unit production costs, or even unlockable ressource trickles and even a factory for China. If you decide to make such a video, I am going to look forward to it!

      The age IV shrine upgrade it's called "tempo reforms" and it's located in the shrines; you click any shrine being in age IV or V and you'll see an upgrade on top of the food option and that is it, it costs 500 food, wood and coin and gives your shrines +350% base food trickle rate and +300% base wood or coin trickle.

  • @love2understand
    @love2understand 4 года назад

    The Japanese have an age 3 or age 4 upgrade at the shrine itself which increases the gather rate even higher.
    The Inca estate has an bigbutton upgrade which gives them 0.8 coin per second, with an max build limit of 20 estates.
    I would place China as an honorable mention. They can make 20 exta villegers if aging up with a wonder, which brings the total villeger count to 119. In addition, porcelain tower wonder gives tricle. The consulate gives wood/food/gold trickle for the Germans and a factory with the Russians.

  • @GideonAI

    The Lakota in the bottom tier below the Haudes? Not needing to use Villager seconds building Houses and gathering Wood for Houses is a big deal for booming. They also just got their 4 Settlers card moved to Age 1 which is the only equivalent to the 2 Settler Wagon card iirc. And sure the Adoption card comes out a little late in Age 3 but at -40% Villager training time it's still a greater reduction than any other nation's cards.

      @sunspot42 3 года назад

      I play 30 minute treaty games against the AI, using Asian Dynasties. At first I had a really hard time with Lakota, but once I figured them out they're virtually unstoppable. With the right cards you don't have to worry about farms or plantations until you've reached your max villager pop limit, and of course you don't have to worry about houses ever.
      * Get the 9 and 16 buffalo cards, and send them fairly early in the game
      * Build your market and get its improvements
      * Get the mine upgrades
      * Get at least two of the hunt upgrades
      * Get the shipment bonus - Lakota seem more dependent on home city shipments than the other civs so it's worth the 500 units of gold, wood and food.
      * Build a community plaza as you enter the third age and build out your two town centers. Task it on fertility and stock it up until villager build rates are boosted by 100%, then dedicate units spawned by your original town center to hunting as well
      * Get 20 villagers on gold and dedicate all the rest to hunting the increasing number of buffalo swarming around your TC
      * Age up to IV with the 30% bonus to hunting and even more buffalo
      * I usually have almost enough gold to do the final age up by this point.
      * I age up and as the meat runs out dedicate more villagers to plantations / mines or wood
      I can actually reach max villager population and age up to V faster with Lakota than I can with any other civ. Finally I slap up military buildings, then build military units, and build farms and plantations and upgrade them as the meat and mines are depleted.

    I mean yes 20 British settlers can gather 1008 food in a minute... if you're lame about it.
    With the right cards and a little economy micro around animal pens, that can easily hit 9,600 food in that one minute due to the british access to an age 1 card that gives +300% gather rate from herdables, upping their rate from 2 food per second to 8 food per second.
    That's the same as gathering from a shipment. With a little micro you can have effectively infinite food shipments. The Chinese can pull the same trick but even better, since their villages can fatten more animals total than the british livestock pens.

    China can do a massive explosive boom after age 3 towards age 4
    You have max amount of villages and perhaps send the card that increased village build limit in age 2
    and then send the villager Chinese cards and gain from each one like 8-9 villages depending on amount of TCs and villages you have
    on top of that you also move towards age 4 using the wonder that gives you 10 more villagers
    and on top of that you can on age 4 send a factory from Russian embassy and age 5 you can do porcelain tower for factory number 2

Additionally, the dutch boom has a slightly higher ceiling than Sweden (8/9 banks > 20 torps), and is not on a timer. Of course late-game dutch isn't that amazing, but their late fortress and early-to-mid industrial is better than Sweden's.

    The Ottoman boom is highly unconventional, but I don't think it's "F-tier." Unfortunately, its logistics are rather sordid so it's hard to mathematically compare to other civilizations.
    As everyone knows, the Ottomans produce settlers at a slower rate than other nations, but they do so for free. What many non-Ottoman players forget is that this is scalable. An Ottoman player that rushes to the fortress age can potentially quadruple their settler production by their fourth shipment (four town centers), though in practice this is usually the fifth or sixth shipment. The rate at which Ottomans produce settlers can also be increased.
    At its highest potential, the Ottomans can have six town centers constantly producing villagers for free, though this is fairly overkill.
    I haven't thoroughly tested how the Ottoman boom stacks up against most other civilizations, and the strategy itself is extremely inflexible in its early stages. Generally, however, the Ottomans can exceed all other civilizations in practical settler production at virtually no cost once the boom is established.
    Edit: If anyone is wondering, the Ottoman shipment order for a boom is typically 3 settlers --> 700 coin ---> 1000 wood ---> 1 TC Wagon
    Boom. 4 town centers.
    Typically in 1v1 games, I add some resource crate or military shipments prior to the Fortress Age.

      @Last First The definitive edition (at least as of last week) changed the TC wagon cards to increase TC build limit as well as providing the TC wagon. Thus, it is actually possible to get 6 TC with most civs (1 TC wagon shipment in age 3, 2 TC wagon shipment in age 4).

    I wonder what makes the Chinese so bad at booming in your eyes. To me, the refugees card in Age 1 when combined with maxing the # of villages allows the Chinese to spawn 7 settlers by Age 2 also the wonder I often like to take for Age 3 gives another 6 settlers. Not to mention the extreme defensive capabilities of the villages themselves when herding or mining or chopping. But I'm still a new player to this game, can anybody tell me why the chinese are listed so low?

      I'm not an expert either but i guess it's because the video is subjetive, chinese have some pretty nice booming bonuses as you say.

    • @Xohslol
      @Xohslol 3 года назад

      Booming is heavily dependent on either cheating out villagers very quick (multiple TCs help this), or cheating out good gather rates leveraging your civ's unique bonus. China has neither of these. doesn't mean it's a bad boom, just means it's always going to be slower than British/Swede/Japanese booms.

      1) nerfed explorer. Aztec relied heavily on a great age 1 using the convert ability which has been nerfed (it is not as big a problem for Iro and Lakota for complicated reasons)
      2) weak coyote runners missing 5hp compared to the EP patch.

    I don't get why the aztecs are so low on the list. Once they get 10 priest's don't they boom better than the indians or most other B tier civ's?

    • @Dingleberry69420

      Because the aztecs take too long to get all 10 priest and when they do they’re already behind in economy because you chose to put them to dance for other priest instead of getting xp for more shipments.

    In my opinion, thorpes are still a balance breaking feature. Not only do they allow an explosive boom, but also require less micro than villagers and use up no population space (it's the contrary, in fact, they provide it) thus allowing the Swedes to use those pop slots for additional army units with which to clobbeer the enemy. To top it all up, they are quite tanky, which means they are not easily brought down before you can field cannons. How do you even deal with those guys?
    I really think the devs should consider making them more brittle so as to force Swedes to pamper them more and actually make punishable their greedy usage on the map.

    • @dimitrisoikonomou3568
      @dimitrisoikonomou3568 4 года назад +2

      Torps have limited use in the mid to late game and are depended on the enemy ignoring them. The same can be said for the shrines, difference is that the shrine always produces resorces and only needs one card while the torps need two (and one comes on the expense of the three settlers card that results in slow start). I feel that if Swedes have come in the original game, no one would care, it would have been just another top tier european civ like the Ottomans,Germans and French.

    • @vladimirlagos2688
      @vladimirlagos2688 4 года назад

      @@dimitrisoikonomou3568 Perhaps, but remember that shrines do come with the caveat that Japanese can't hunt, so they are rather more of a replacement than a direct buff. I am not a big fan of that Japanese feature, though, but I find it less broken than torps for the aforementioned reason.

      @@kojack635 well, you can try playing treaty if you dont like to get rushed, that way you can set up your economy and fight without worrying about vills in 40 min treaty, but still seems that that's not the only problem. I'll make you a mini guide for the german in supremacy and tell me how is working out for you.

    • @pabloduarte1722
      @pabloduarte1722 4 года назад

      @@kojack635 First, in a supremacy game you wanna get to age 2 ASAP (as quickly as posible) in most cases, as you are playing with German when you start the game, recollect all crates and as soon as you have 100 food start creating vills, and when you done recollecting crates take one settler wagon yo build a house and them move all your settler wagons to gather food from huntables and all the vills you spawn send them to the hunts as well, at the start of the game gathering wood or coin, at least for German in most cases isn't anything you wanna do... You keep gathering food until you have 800 food and then you age up (keep in mind you should build vills non stop, so when you reach 800 food don't build more and cancel the accumulated villagers, just leave the current one) and the first shipment you want to get is the 2 settler wagons. The age up you want to get is the quartermaster i think it is, the one that gives you 400 wood, or you can also get the logistician with 900 food, depending on your playstyle, and as soon as you click the guy you want to spread your vills, just let some still on hunts, and put some to gather coin from mines (the amount is depending on what you need in age 2) and wood you will get from the crates in age 2. Now, at this point you can do several things dependind on a lot of stuff, but if you say you get rushed, as soon as in age 2 recollect the wood crates and start building walls to secure your base, you can do pillarless walls if you want to save some wood wich i recommend, and you can go to age 3 and then spam skirmishers and war wagons to defend, or create some crossbows to get to 3 safely (i think the AI don't attack you if you have enough army). And have you done *The art of war* missions? Those can really help you out...
