    Would it help the final turning if you put another tape at the bottom of the vinyl instead of making the vinyl to the end? Or warm the iroing board with a hot iron and then rub the vinyl to heat it up and make it more flexible?

      A plastic snap would work great, there is an example on my facebook page made by another lady, and it looks fantastic! On my main RUclips channel page, there is a link to the facebook group top right, I'd love it if you shared a pic when its dine, I love to see how everyone makes their own versions.

    Have to say your machine is so quiet and a great extension table on it. What type of machine have you got if you don't mind me asking.

    • @SewingAlchemy
      @SewingAlchemy  6 лет назад

      Its a Babylock Crescendo, I have a video about it on my channel. Its a very nice machine!

    • @tracybrewer8237
      @tracybrewer8237 6 лет назад

      I have looked online for a Babylock Crescendo. Can't find one in any store at all or even online in New Zealand. They only seem to sell Babylock overlockers, not sewing machines. So looks like I will have to lower my hopes a little. In next few weeks will actually go round stores to see what they can do. Happy sewing

    • @SewingAlchemy
      @SewingAlchemy  6 лет назад

      There are a few here and there on ebay. but for the most part you have to get them at their dealerships. Brother sells almost identical machines. I believe they come out of the same factories. I think the Brother Innovis is the equivalent.

      Thank you so much, Joann Going to check them out. I have an Elna 6600. It has around 200 stitches but they are so small and can only lengthen around 10 of them. Especially the alphabets and numbers. Has quite a few buttonholes as well. It would be ok if I only want basic stitches. So would love to get a big fancy machine.Thanks again for the info.

    I'm so confused. I've made this twice following your exact instructions (I thought) and the clear vinyl ended up on the back. I wanted the vinyl on the front when the ziipper is closed to the left - just like yours. Also, to me it looks like you sewed the D-ring on the opposide side of where the zipper was closed so it seems like your D-ring would be on the right side of your pouch when it's closed.

    • @SewingAlchemy
      @SewingAlchemy  Год назад

      I am so sorry you are having problems, I tried to be as clear as I could, it is tricky getting everything in the right place sometimes.

    • @UnusuallyWonderfulbyTT
      @UnusuallyWonderfulbyTT Год назад

      @@SewingAlchemy That's ok, I made another one and it came out perfectly. I just made sure and doubled-checked that the vinyl and the ring was on the right side before I sewed it. Thank you.!

    Do you put the lining piece on top face up or face down? Your material was white on both sides my material for the lining has a right and wrong side. So, the outside piece is face up, then the lining piece? Pretty side up or down?

    • @SewingAlchemy
      @SewingAlchemy  4 года назад +1

      It will go front or pretty side down.🙂

    Went to all the trouble to add lining but you left exposed seams inside!

    • @SewingAlchemy
      @SewingAlchemy  6 лет назад

      I did it that way so the lining is held inside the change purse, I have found when I am digging around in them for change if the lining is loose you tend to pull it out with the contents, you can turn the lining inside out to stitch leaving a small hole at the bottom to turn it right side it, and then hand stitch the seam, that will leave you with no seams. but I run a tight zig zag around the inside and never have any fraying. :)

    • @BeatlesFanSonia
      @BeatlesFanSonia 5 лет назад

      JoAnn Harvey you can tack down the lining so it doesn’t move around but exposed seams are unsightly!

    • @SewingAlchemy
      @SewingAlchemy  5 лет назад

      It is easy to make the lining seams turned to the inside, but keeping it in place is a bit harder. Let me try making one and see what I figure out. I will let you know what I come up with.
