      @@MADEEveryday do you use the zipper foot for the entire project? and do you switch zipper foot sides when you sew each side?

    • @MADEEveryday
      @MADEEveryday  4 года назад +7

      @@CrazieRacie You could use the zipper foot for the entire project. But I like to switch out to my standard presser foot for the sides and bottom. Your standard foot gives you more control because it has more surface area pressing down on your fabric. But your zipper foot is nice because you can get real close to the teeth of the zipper. So they both serve a purpose. But you can always make it work with what you have!

    Great Tutorial. I am new to sewing and not real sure what zippers are appropriate for the different bags. Never new there were so many different ones. You explain in the simplest way keep up the great work. I think it is great that someone would take the time to make these tutorials I know that they have to be very time consuming. In my case I have begun to learn my way around my sewing machine somewhat and learning sewing terms. Think of something you have never done before itls like going from Fractions to Calculus over night with some of the tutorials I have tried to follow. I wish a beginner could sit beside someone and help break it down so true beginners understand. I think you are great well spoken and sweet. I was able to complete my first bag but had trouble with my fabric shifting hoping it will get better. Never would of thought of the word shifting if I hadn't read it before :) I would have said dang fabric keeps moving. Bless you and thank you for your hard work

    Hands down - this is the best tutorial for zipper pouches! I was having trouble getting my top corners square. I tried using the "zipper tab" method but was not happy with the results. Little things like paying attention to the seam allowances and the position of the zipper foot made all the difference. I made a bunch of flat pouches, and then some with 'box bottoms'. All came out great and made great gifts. Thanks!

    Making these for my Mother in Law who travels a lot to keep her jewelry and small items in. She is going to love these she loves practical handmade gifts instead of store bought ones. Picked a fabric in her favorite colors and every time she is far from home she will remember how loved she is by those she left behind. Made my first one already and turned out great thanks for the tutorial couldn't have done it without your step by step video.

    I’m one of those people who learn by being showed face to face. One lesson with my sewing teacher and everything i struggled with made sense. I mastered a zip pouch with no lining before lock down so was determined to do one with lining, with instructions from my teacher I’ve got in a right pickle over the sandwich process, written down just made no sense so thank god for your video, sooooo easy to follow. Thank you

    Finished my first bag. New to sewing and used same fabric for liner. Sewed together wrong at first so had to rip it all out. But I marked liner 2nd time and got it to work. Thank you for the great video.

    Thank you so much for this video! I just made a sling bag for a lady and I thought I would make a zippered pouch to go with the purse. Just a little "thank you" from me to her, for asking me to make the purse for her. She's paying me for the purse, but not for the zippered pouch. It's my little gift to her. Again, thank you so much!!! I have subscribed!

    Thank you for the tutorial! My journey was a complete disaster! This was my first time working with a zipper and a zipperfoot. My machine jammed even though the broadest part of the zipperfoot wasn't near the edge, it would give me 1mm from the edge to do the line. One side went fine. But the other was a disaster. I had to take my machine apart and rip out the stuck pieces. Then when I thought I fixed it, I did a test on some fabric so I had to take it apart again, oil it switch needles and then do a new test with a normal foot and thank god it worked! I'm not gonna do anything with a zipper for a long while! My zipperbag has uneven edges up by the top of the seam. But it's still cute even with its faults but what a mess of a project 😂❤

    These are great videos, and I've now made several of these pouches. Lovely gifts. One point to emphasize, though, is to peak inside, and really line up the zipper teeth when preparing to sew the lining and outer fabric. The rough edges can always be trimmed, but if those zipper teeth aren't lined up properly, the zipper will be wonky. Took me several pouches to figure this out. Thanks!
