The 80 hour power reserve is definitely something very very cool! I do love the dial on the automatic, and I am blown away by how thin it is! Great job once again
Yes 80 hours is a game changer for a watch at this price point and it happens to be such a useful feature as well. The 11.2mm thickness is great, and when its paired with such a thin midcase it makes for a super comfortable watch! Thanks man!
Great review, as always. The new blue dial looks great and this watch is right near the top of my list. And I f they came out with a blue rubber strap to go along with it… man, that would be amazing. Fingers crossed someone from Tissot sees this video 🙂
We wouldnt want to make a date window TOO perfect with a color matched date disc!😂😂 But yeah color matched date wheels really can elevate a watch and its unfortunate that it's usually one of the last things that watch companies concentrate on
I will be purchasing the quartz soon. It's such a beautiful watch that I would not waste the extra on the powermatic. I would use the extra 300 to buy a second Prx in another colour variant. I like it that much.
Ah thats awesome to hear! If you get a chance, let me know what you think of it when you get one! If you had to choose, which color variant would you buy? I think I would go for the black one bc of the vertically brushed dial but I do like how different the white/silver dial looks with the gold hands and indices
Thank you so much I'm glad you enjoyed it!! Congrats on the pick up and yeah Everytime I see the bracelet move around in the light it just makes me so happy!
Congrats on the 1k suscribers mark !!! 😃 I coudn't decide between them so I've bought the two versions; quartz black dial - always 'ready to go' - and the more 'sophisticated' auto blue waffle dial, absolutely love them both 😍
Hey bro! Liked and subscribed. Fantastic content and really appreciate it. That being said I'm very curious to know what your wrist size is. Mine is a six and I'm not sure if I should get the 40 mm or 35 mm. Thanks so much and keep it up!
I was planning on getting the automatic- but after getting a Reverso duo (my “main” watch) I think I’d be happy with the quartz version in blue. The watch will basically be a daily pick up and go work watch for days I’m too casual for the reverso (currently in the boiling hot office on my own in shorts, t shirts and white reeboks!) Thanks for the review 👍🏼👍🏼
Oh man thats so awesome, I've been wanting to get a reverso so badly for so many years but I just know that it wouldnt get the wrist time that it would deserve. But yeah the quartz would be such an awesome and fun piece to have on for those casual dyas you're describing. It's seriously so much fun seeing the watch on my wrist and just wrist rolling all the time😂
@@thewatchidiot to be honest I have worn the Reverso with shorts and trainers/sneakers most days since getting it and it’s easy enough to dress down- I got some quick release suede straps in cool colours (brown, black orange, green and blue) and it’s not looked out of place with most outfits.
That's awesome technically speaking it was the first sports watch so it should feel right at home with shorts and sneakers😂! Yeah suede straps are my go to for leather albeit far less interesting colors like grey lol I wish I wasn't so intensely attached to divers they make up the vaaaast majority of my wrist time. I sold a bunch of non divers after realizing they weren't being worn at all lol! I'm trying to expand my horizons again to move towards a Reverso so thankfully the PRX is there to help!
I know the feeling. I love my Reverso Duoface small seconds, I actually find it gets more wrist time that I expected, it's super comfortable and the only people who notice what it is are few and far between. Those that do know about the Reverso always seem happy to have a talk about them as well. The PRX in either version would make a perfect companion watch for a daily out and about piece.
@@thewatchidiot I would suggest that you do not try on a Reverso, as you may find that the time devoted to the divers would decrease quite a lot, well it did for me anyway when I got my Reverso 😊 one piece I have that will not be sold.
That's awesome to hear everyone has that one gateway watch into this world so a PRX Powermatic 80 would be awesome to get as that gateway watch!! If you end up getting it let me know what you think of it when you see it in the metal!!
I'm glad to hear that others are thinking the same! All I want is a black or blue rubber strap, thats not too much to ask right?? Yeah the new dial is pretty awesome but definitely take a look at it in person thats always going to be the best way to go about it and I think the dial works better in person than on video
@@edshamaham5719 Of course. And maybe one day Tissot will release the 12mm lug rubber strap. As the ‘idiot’ says. The bracelet must have a quick release thingy for a reason.
11:01 straps are coming this year around spring/summer from Tissot, and it's friggin awesome and compatible with both quartz and automatic! Then they'll also release the 35mm quartz (with second hand ofc) in same blue dial and white dial/pink gold marker, and additional ice blue dial, forest green dial, and full yellow gold pvd case/bracelet with champagne dial. Then another gold knurled bezel version but with blue dial and rose gold indexes.
Congrats on the 1k mark.. I came across your channel after Adrian featured it on the 925 review.. Enjoying the style of your presentation.. Cheers and wishing you many more subs
Yeah it really is pretty great value when you see everything that it offers especially that powermatic 80 movement! Hope you get one soon, I'm excited for you!
Well done - great review. You really touched on everything. I skipped the PRX quartz because without choosing to get flamed - I found it rather simple looking. The Auto with the textured waffle dial might be a bit copy cat yet but it just adds to the overall look of the watch. Already done my pre-order so really looking forward to it. And yes this on a rubber strap if Tissot ever release would look awesome I think - like you said why add quick release if this wasn't the case.
Thank you so much I'm glad you enjoyed it!! But yeah I totally get where you're coming from for sure! The dial on the quartz really could have been a lot better like the waffle dial but in the end it's a question of balancing the dial vs the movement vs the price for me That's awesome let me know what you think of the auto when you get it! The dial looks even better in person I'm sure you'll enjoy it👍👍 Yeah this watch would just sing on a rubber strap. I'm glad to hear more people agree as well so hopefully Tissot will get some straps pushed out asap!!
A great balanced review TWI. I like both the quartz and the automatic versions. Simple yet elegant retro-modern designs. I'm not sure which dial finish I prefer but I think the automatic just nudges it for me. I agree with your comment about the date on this dial, it looks a lot better framed on the automatic however it would be far batter at the 6 position although I'm not sure the frame would work quite as well at 6. Great camera work TWI. Congratulations on passing the 1K!
Thanks Anthony! Yeah I was in the same boat as you and while I do like the dial of the automatic better that ease of use of the quartz is just too good! Yeah I agree, bold frames at 6 o clock dont quite work i think because its easy for them to just disappear away without affecting the overall flow of the dial. But for 3 oclock its pretty much a requirement! Thank you so much, and looking back, designing that Pelagos GMT was definitely one of the highlights!
@@thewatchidiot I'm more than happy to assist you with future designs TWI. I think we share the same passion for design. It's good to bounce idea around and get new views and suggestions.
@@thewatchidiot You never know, we just might get the call from a watch manufacture to provide consultancy services for future designs 😎. What is strange though is how our preferences change over time. I used to be into the ton of functions world with busy dials and buttons but now I focus more on simplicity, symmetry and elegance, all of which also apply to the ton of feature watches as well.
That would be a pretty awesome call to receive!! But yeah my preferences changed quite a bit at the beginning I was much more of a dress watch guy and I loved Nomos a lot. At that time I used to think why would anyone get the Nomos campus club over all the other offerings. But now the campus club is my favorite Nomos! And on top of that dress watches have almost been completely wiped out in my collection in favor of divers😂 really makes me wonder what my collection will look like years down the line
Nice review presentation of both I ended up getting the Tissot Prx Quartz Blue Dial its keeping to the original version so quartz for me plus the blue dial on the quartz looks amazing were on the automatic looks off Weird thats just me doesn't look right. PRX Quartz Thumbs Up
Thank you so much! And congrats on the new watch! Yeah the quartz is definitely a great watch and I still love mine to the point that I'll be keeping the quartz over the automatic actually! The ease of use for quartz and the lower price really makes it a watch that is hard to beat even against the auto version. Yeah I can definitely see why some people wouldn't like the waffle dial especially in comparison to the sunburst dial of the quartz!
great point on the quick release strap, why there is no extra strap available from Tissot to take advantage of this feature is beyond me, I hope they release one soon in rubber...that would be amazing !
Yeah i cant wait for a rubber bc it would look incredible and it would fix the jutting endlink issue! yet here we are months after both releases and nothing...
I recently bought a Tissot Powermatic 80 (non prx) with saffhire glass.... My absolute favourite watch right now. Tough im scared to wear it during the day because of scratching the wrist band
Congratulations on the purchase! Yeah I am scared of scratching my watches as well and I always end up babying them but for the watches that I know will stay with me forever, I have been trying to wear them more and scratch them up more bc I think scratches add character to a watch and it adds to the story of the watch! If your Tissot is a keeper then some scratches will end up looking good especially if those scratches come through living your life!
Yeah the waffle dial is pretty awesome! And congrats on the big birthday! I love my BB58 Blue very much and the PRX is awesome but quite different and I'm very much biased towards dive watches loool but you've got quite a decision coming up! Which way are you leaning right now?
@@thewatchidiot I'm leaning towards the BB58 blue as I was on waiting list for original BB58 for years but passed on it during first week of pandemic. The BB58 looks more wearable and will hold its value.
Yeah the blue bay is definitely going to hold it's value better and yeah the overall versatility of the blue bay is a big plus point especially since it looks incredible on all sorts of natos!! If you can, let me know which one you go for!
Awesome man congratulations!! It really does look and feel spectacular in the metal and on wrist and I'm glad to hear your endlinks aren't loose like mine😂 Wear it in good health😁
Thanks for the comparison bro. I'm probably in the minority here but I prefer the quartz version to the automatic one. I've owned the quartz since it was released here in the UK and there aren't no other watches in my vast collection that I've received so many compliments about. ☺
Sure thing I'm glad you enjoyed it!! I'm in that minority with you! I actually ended up selling the automatic off just bc the value and ease of use the quartz offers is just too much! And thankfully I've solved the misaligned seconds hand issue so it's even better now!
Would you say the automatic wears worse or better from the additional thickness? I’d think the quartz be better. 0,7 should be noticeable. No? What’s your opinion? :)
To me they wear pretty much exactly the same although when they are worn back to back you can feel the difference ever so slightly. Had the 0.7mm been added to the midcase then it most definitely would have been noticeable. For me the most important aspect of the overall thickness is the midcase's visual thickness bc it can change how a watch looks and feels on the wrist immensely. The 41mm Black Bay GMT has giant slab sides and it was simply too overwhelming for me but my Seiko Marinemaster 300 wears much more comfortably despite being 0.4mm thicker. It all comes down to the amazingly designed midcase!
CONGRATS on your 1,000! Of course, you are well on your way to 2,000 now, and 10,000 subs is imminent! The Tissot watches, while a touch intriguing, have not inspired me to make a purchase. Thank you for the informative and visually entertaining review, however!
Thank you so much!! It's been great seeing you in the comments throughout the journey and hopefully into the future as well for other milestones😁! Yeah Tissot can be hit or miss with their watches but hopefully they've got a lot more lined up for the PRX lineup! Glad you enjoyed the video👍👍
Let’s not be too swayed by the 80hours. That means the L888 style C07 eta based movement is ticking slower less frequently than 28k so is slightly less accurate than a faster tick but it has longer reserve. However, I suggest very few of us getting this watch will be wearing it day in day out then putting it down for 80 hours and wearing it again. So unless it’s fully wound when we take it off the reserve will be less. Plus when you take the watch off the accuracy will change so after 80 hours you will reset it so you may as well hack wind it. So it’s a great ETA based movement but the power reserve is a complete red herring and not something we will ever be exploiting.
Yeah the 80 hours wont make a difference for people who will wear it daily but everyone wont be wearing it daily. Different people will be wearing the watch differently and maybe they'll wear something else during the weekend at which point the 80 hours will come in handy! Like I said in the video, the PRX for sure isnt a watch that I would wear daily so I'll gladly trade accuracy for a higher pr. (although my PRX was running about +3 seconds a day)
I have a feeling the strap will be coming with new dials and new models next year or end of this year (that will be a surprise i guess, because this is integrated, so we are very yet to buy all these wonderful PRX, but I am anticipating the links between PRX and another model with the straps/integrated bracelet connection. scarcity is marketing.. wanting to have is having to want.. i guess.. thanks for the nice review.. the blue one is the best IMHO.
Yeah fingers crossed that they release it soon and loool yeah i guess by not having straps theyre making me think more about the watch so its working!😂😂 But thank you so much I'm glad that you enjoyed the video!
Nice review. Enjoy your channel. Waiting for my powermatic as we speak. The quartz would already have been on the wrist if the second hand hit the indexes. You can't beat Grand Seiko in this regard.
Thank you so much I'm glad you're enjoying my videos! And thats awesome congratulations! Which dial color did you get and if you get a chance let me know what you think of it! Yes the quartz would have been next level if it actually lined up correctly! You're absolutely right my Grand Seiko and even my Citizen definitely have spoiled me when it comes to perfect hand placement!
I just ordered the Quartz version because it went on one day sale in The Bay for $356 CAD. I originally wanted to keep this Quartz and sell it when the Powermatic is out and buy that one, but halfway through I got scared it would be real thick compared to the Quartz. After watching this video, I feel confident I would like the Automatic much more (specifically, I like that dial much more). But I think it'll be some time before the Automatic goes on a sale like the Quartz did, so I'll wait :)
Thats awesome congrats on the new watch! and yeah thats a great price especially considering how much watch youre getting for that 356. And I'm glad that I was able to help out with the decision making process bc both of these watches are so similar yet still quite different. I'm sure you'll love the auto when the time comes for it!
@@thewatchidiot yeah I just certainly will. I've been wearing a HK branded Aision watch that has a similar style, I like the face but the bracelet is lacking in 3 dimensionality. I've been working with the creator to come out with a new custom bracelet design for the next batch.
I’m too cheap to buy the quartz watch but now I find the automatic too expensive..🤣 I agree with you quartz movement paired with the new dial is ideal. Almost double the price for the upgraded movement is not worth it in my opinion. Great review once again! 👍🏻
looool our minds work in interesting ways😂 Yeah it definitely would have been awesome if that combination was available although I get why it isnt unfortunately. For me its not so much that the auto isnt worth 675 its just that getting 95% of the experience with the quartz is a better deal for sure! And thank you so much!!👍
Thanks man! Yeah fingers crossed they release some straps soon bc these will look awesome! If not for my sake at least for their own sake bc theyre leaving so much money on the table😂
I guess the quick release is for the watchmaker when they need to disassemble the watch for service, I guess... A lot of omega in the 70es did that. And you could always ask people to make a custom strap that fit the style of the watch. Too bad it's not released in burgundy.
Yeah that could be the case but man they're leaving a lot of money on the table😂 ooooooo a burgundy dial would be so awesome! I'd totally choose that over the blue
@@thewatchidiot or green dial with gold accents in the indices and the hands. Burgundy dial with gold indices and hands. Then in gold pvd. I think it'll be a best seller
Those are some cool combinations for sure! Especially the burgundy with golf hands and indices since it's not seen very much. Hopefully Tissot is reading the comments here😂
Great value for sure, and 80 hours is a great technical advantage. Only thing is, and this is personal for me , if you have many many watches.......are you always going to put in on on Monday’s.......and that collection has allot of nice Monday/work watches, likely not. But in a 2-3 watch collection, for sure being able to take it off Friday and put back on Monday without working the date, yes. Almost better of with Quartz. And at my age, I’d get a Royal (e) with cheese, save and get a Tudor.
Yeah i totally get what you're saying! For me, with watches that I know I wont be wearing very often it can sometimes get a little tedious to have to set the watch every time I want to wear it (which take a bit longer for me bc i sync my watches up to atomic time and line up the hands perfectly every time lol) even if its just for a few hours around the house. And a lot of the time I want to fiddle around with my watches and wear the at night to get them ready for the next day and I cant set the date after 9 pm! Unfortunately, a lot of the time I end up just not wearing the watch if its not set. But with quartz I can bypass all of this which is super useful for my situation. looooool Royale with cheese, looking forward to the next Tudor tribute to Pulp Fiction😂 The Royal is a pretty cool watch for sure I'd love to see one in person! It would be cool if they made a variant with regular stick indices bc that would be more my style although the roman numerals fit the look of the watch very nicely👍
Oh man those look pretty intense, actually someone else on Instagram sent me a pic of their 925 and it has similar spots. I'm grateful that mine isn't like that! But it's interesting that there are specific variations of the tarnish. If only we knew what caused the variations😕
Yeah I agree, the quartz hit the sweet spot for me! I knew that the PRX would be a watch that i wear occasionally so the convenience of quartz is awesome. And it helps that 95% of the experience can be had for $300 less!
Thats an interesting match up bc theyre both similar yet so different! If I had to stick to only one watch or If I only have one of these and a diver I think I would go for the Gentleman bc it is far more versatile in terms of its look and its strap options. On top of that the silicon hairspring is very impressive as well. However, since I have more than a few watches, I think the PRX is probably one of the best watches out there just bc its so fun to wear and you cant really find another watch that looks and feels the way it does with the specs it has. 80 hours power reserve is a giant plus point for me. Which one would you choose?
@@thewatchidiot haha you basically summed up my dilemma. I think the Gentleman is more versatile, while the PRX is so unique in its style it stands out in any collection and is a great conversation piece. I use the 62 MAS reissue as my daily wear. I'm looking for a lighter watch that I can wear every day and dress up whenever necessary. These Tissot watches fit the bill, but I'm not yet sure which to choose. I have an appointment at my local AD to try them on. I hope that helps me make a decision.
Looool I'm glad we're on the same page! But yeah seeing them in person will definitely help in terms of making a decision. But given that you wear a 62mas reissue (I still want one so bad lol) as a daily and you're looking for something light then I'm now leaning towards the PRX. Main reason being that the PRX wears extremely comfortably and it's really quite light compared to all my other watches bc of the thin links. I haven't worn the Gentleman before however by the looks it'll probably wear very comfortably but it'll most likely weigh more than the PRX. Of course it all comes down to what you think of them in person so if you get a chance, let me know what you think of them after seeing them and which one you end up choosing!!
Loooool I think you're on your own on this one😂😂 I actually like having a date window on my watches however I prefer 6oclock ideally. That being said if a 3 o'clock date window is done right and is not treated as an afterthought it can look really great!!
I think it may be the viewing angle that makes the date look off but thankfully in real life its lined up! However the seconds hand is definitely not lined up right but I got rid of the problem by taking off the seconds hand altogether in a video i did after this one!
If only we knew!!!!!!! I still have hope that they'll do the right thing and sell the straps and make a bunch of money while they're at it but who knows
hmmmm i think it can work for your wrist size. however the way the endlinks come out and drop down with the bracelet could pose a problem for you depending on the shape of your wrist (whether or not it is more flat and wide or round and narrow). That being said I really do think that theyll be releasing straps for these at some point and at that point it'll work on your wrist for sure! In the end the best way to go about it would be to try it out in person if thats at all possible!
Have you looked into the Maurice Lacroix Aikon automatic version of the AP Royal Oak homage? A bit more $$$, but enhanced in terms of the high quality bracelet, beautiful finish, and ability to interchange proprietary ML straps. My wife has the 35mm ML Aikon with white Mother-of-Pearl dial and a couple of straps in addition to the stunning bracelet. It’s gorgeous and well worth the $$$. Your thoughts?
Yeah the Aikon is an interesting watch for sure! I haven't handled one in person but their latest diver and gmt variants are pretty interesting and they look to be really good value for money. Overall quality of the case bracelet and straps look to be pretty amazing and I'm always going to be a sucker for quick change straps so hopefully I'll get to try one on at some point!! Although I do hope that at some point they release a diver or gmt with a fully steel 6 pointed bezel bc at this point I'm not sure I've warmed up to the bold bi-color bezels And your wife's watch sounds awesome and I'm sure the Aikon absolutely sings at that size as well😁
Both versions, the dial is too big for the movement's date location. But they are a bargain. You're the first new watch channel i've subscribed to in ~2 years because you seem like a dude. YT already has enough money-grubbing shills for grey-market resellers & Folex fanboys.
Yeah thats true, its definitely not in the ideal location on either version granted the situation is improved by the silver frame on the auto! And wow thank you so much that really means so much to me! I'm glad that that's the sense you get from my videos bc everything i say in my videos is pretty much exactly what i say to my watch nut friends when we talk about those specific watches😂👍
Quartz for me, I just think the powermatic is yuk! A cheaper version of the 2824-2 with a slower more jerky 3hz sweep. 80hrs doesn’t mean a thing to me, I couldn’t care less what a watch is doing when I’m not wearing it, so it would have to be quartz for me (unless they put a much nicer movement in it) ymmv. :-)
Describing this movement as an upgraded 2824 is not really a correct characterization. While it does have improved power reserve, and much improved antimagnetism, it also has a lower beat rate, and the biggest shortcoming which you didn't mention about the movement is that it cannot be regulated. It's similar to the Sistem51 movement in that way. If it's not keeping good time, you cannot do anything about it but send it back in to Tissot and having then replace the balance.
You're right about those factors for sure and I originally had mentioned those things however it did not make the final edit of the video bc I dont believe that those particular shortcomings will play a large factor in the purchasing decision for most people when it comes to the PRX. The PRX is uniquely the PRX and many people would buy it regardless of the movement! I would have loved to put out an hour long video on these two watches bc I could talk about them for hours but unfortunately not very many people would watch it😂 I wanted to talk about the main differences between the quartz and automatic in the most helpful yet concise way possible!
Problem with the powermatic 80 is it has plastic components, can't be regulated and needs to be serviced by tissot directly ideally. Normal watchmakers / service centres hate this movement. Just something to consider....
Yeah its not a perfect movement for sure! I do wish it was able to be easily regulated. However for 80 hours of power reserve i'm willing to kick that can down the road a little and deal with the servicing then lol. Also given how much fun the quartz version is I dont think itll be in the collection for very much longer either😂
I'm still edging towards the quartz PRX! Am I alone on this?
yep, i would still choose the quartz PRX ! cuz it's half the price....
I only buy Citizen quartz watches. For Swiss it has to be mechanical.
I’m wearing the silver dial right now. Love the look and it’s my only quartz watch.
I prefer the sunray dial.
@@thewatchidiot I'm waiting for your citizen Promaster review for a loooong time

Yes power in numbers!!! Oh man a blue rubber strap would be incredible, at this point I'm just hoping for any extra strap 😂
Completely agree with the date window. They also need to start matching the colors of the date window to the dial. Not enough companies do it.

Congrats on the 1k mark.. I came across your channel after Adrian featured it on the 925 review.. Enjoying the style of your presentation.. Cheers and wishing you many more subs
Thank you so much it's been a fun journey!! So glad to hear you're enjoying the content and lots more to come as well!
just got my prx 80 yesterday. Its awesome.. glad i didn't get the quartz model. no complaints
That's awesome congrats!! Yeah the dial on the auto is so good it's almost worth getting it for the dial alone!
Agree. Mine came in yesterday. The automatic looks way classier.
Nice!! Yeah the automatic is definitely a step up in terms of overall feel
The automatic is really worth it with that price range, the level of details, and a Swiss movement... I am going to buy one when I can
Yeah it really is pretty great value when you see everything that it offers especially that powermatic 80 movement!
The dial on the quartz really could have been a lot better like the waffle dial but in the end it's a question of balancing the dial vs the movement vs the price for me
That's awesome let me know what you think of the auto when you get it! The dial looks even better in person I'm sure you'll enjoy it👍👍
Yeah this watch would just sing on a rubber strap. I'm glad to hear more people agree as well so hopefully Tissot will get some straps pushed out asap!!
I’m getting my PRX 80 blue dial this weekend. Here in Malaysia almost no stocks for blue dial PRX 80. I think i am lucky to have it 😄
keep up the good work man
loving watching you
Thank you so much!! It really means a lot to me that you're enjoying my videos!!😁
I just started watching recently. Great video!
Thank you so much and welcome to the channel! So glad to hear that you're enjoying the videos!!
Yes it's always good fun designing something with someone with an eye for details!! Looking forward to more in the future👍👍
I can't wait to be able to get my hands on a blue dial automatic. Plz Tissot make that thing availible already!
It's pretty awesome for sure! Hopefully they're fully released very soon😁
Nice review presentation of both
I ended up getting the Tissot Prx Quartz Blue Dial its keeping to the original version so quartz for me plus the blue dial on the quartz looks amazing were on the automatic looks off Weird thats just me doesn't look right.
Great video! Just subbed, keep up the great work 😁👍
Awesome thank you so much and welcome to the channel! Yes lots more to come for sure and your support definitely helps!
great point on the quick release strap, why there is no extra strap available from Tissot to take advantage of this feature is beyond me, I hope they release one soon in rubber...that would be amazing !
Enjoying your content, keep it up!
Thank you so much that means a lot to me!! Thanks for the support and I'm so happy to hear that you're enjoying the channel!!
Congrats on the milestone man!
Thanks man! Glad you were here for the ride!😁
I have the original! The 1978 Tissot Seastar Quartz( no,not the Royal oak) I have never checked the Alignment on that one though!
Great job. Subscribed!
Thank you so much I'm glad you enjoyed the video and welcome to the channel!! 😁
Looks very nice. The waffle dial makes a huge difference. Torn between this and Tudor BB58 blue for upcoming landmark birthday.
@@thewatchidiot I pulled trigger on BB58 blue. Looks even better in the flesh. Also my lugs don't rattle!
Awesome man congratulations!! It really does look and feel spectacular in the metal and on wrist and I'm glad to hear your endlinks aren't loose like mine😂
Wear it in good health😁
It's a great little every day wear.. Mine is performing at +1/s the last four days I've owned it
Yes definitely a very fun piece to wear! And wow +1 sec a day is just about as good as it gets! You got a good example for sure👍👍
@@thewatchidiot Yep, Enjoyed the video very much.. Thanks.
I did a video on why I chose the quartz over the auto
That's awesome yeah watches of this style are definitely interesting to look at and wear. I'm glad there are people innovating a classic design!
I’m too cheap to buy the quartz watch but now I find the automatic too expensive..🤣
I agree with you quartz movement paired with the new dial is ideal.
And thank you so much!!👍
Hey great video. I do agree with your frustration on the strap/bracelet but I’m guessing it is coming soon
Are you going to make an update video on the 925 anytime soon? =)
It's like you know my video schedule! The update video will be out this Sunday at 10 am and actually it goes beyond a normal update as well😁😁
@@thewatchidiot Thank you!

Oh man those look pretty intense, actually someone else on Instagram sent me a pic of their 925 and it has similar spots. I'm grateful that mine isn't like that! But it's interesting that there are specific variations of the tarnish. If only we knew what caused the variations😕
@@thewatchidiot we'll see how yours looks but this is kinda steering me away from wanting the watch, which is a shame because it's a stunning.
Well done on the 1k sub man. Glad that you're getting the recognition for something you love doing.
Thank you so much!! I still cant believe its happened lol and I'm just so glad that my work is resonating with the watchfam!
I love quartz especially it’s 300$ cheaper and looks of split blue dial looks better because of sun burst well to me anyways.
Yeah I agree, the quartz hit the sweet spot for me! I knew that the PRX would be a watch that i wear occasionally so the convenience of quartz is awesome. And it helps that 95% of the experience can be had for $300 less!
Thoughts on PRX Powermatic 80 vs Gentleman Powermatic 80?
Hi, what is your wrist size for reference?
Sure thing it's 7.5 inches👍
I think I’m one of the only watch guys that prefers the date window at 3 o’clock 😂
Loooool I think you're on your own on this one😂😂 I actually like having a date window on my watches however I prefer 6oclock ideally. That being said if a 3 o'clock date window is done right and is not treated as an afterthought it can look really great!!
The date doesn’t even line up in the date window on the quartz. Nor do the second hand match up with the markers.
I think it may be the viewing angle that makes the date look off but thankfully in real life its lined up! However the seconds hand is definitely not lined up right but I got rid of the problem by taking off the seconds hand altogether in a video i did after this one!
Either way you go the watch is definitely a good looking dress watch.
Yes definitely they'll make for great dress watches and I'm glad that they managed to keep the price down on these as well to make them even better!
I love the watch but would love a rubber strap for work. Why why why why would they not release them?
If only we knew!!!!!!! I still have hope that they'll do the right thing and sell the straps and make a bunch of money while they're at it but who knows
Would this fit a 6.75" wrist?
hmmmm i think it can work for your wrist size. however the way the endlinks come out and drop down with the bracelet could pose a problem for you depending on the shape of your wrist (whether or not it is more flat and wide or round and narrow).
Although I do hope that at some point they release a diver or gmt with a fully steel 6 pointed bezel bc at this point I'm not sure I've warmed up to the bold bi-color bezels
And your wife's watch sounds awesome and I'm sure the Aikon absolutely sings at that size as well😁
Both versions, the dial is too big for the movement's date location.
Tissot’s PRX looks a lot like a Patek Philippe Nautilus
Need to see these on straps
Yessssss I hope Tissot watches this video and reads the comments bc it's about time they make some straps!!
I may be alone. Would never buy a quartz over same version auto.
Yeah quartz is definitely the way to go for me! And now that it doesn't have a seconds hand it looks and feels even better!
The powermatics are also Lazer regulated which makes it difficult to repair or adjust without sending it back to a Tissot approved repair center!
Where from you are?
I'm from Bangladesh! and yourself?
@@thewatchidiot I guessed so and I live in Dhaka. A watch nerd, have been watching watch chnnels for around 14 years now. You live in???
That's awesome!! I'm in the US in Maryland but I have lots of family in Dhaka👍 I'm glad you found my channel!!
I would consider changing the channel name before it's too late.
loooool i see what youre saying and thank you! If only it wasnt such an endearing name for me 😂

@@thewatchidiot Good Review
Thanks for that and I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
0.4 of a millimetre? Don’t you mean centimetre?
lol no, I actually said .4 mm no "of a" 👍 Although a PRX thats 0.4 of a cm thicker would make for a pretty wild PRX diver!
Buy the quartz, more true to the original sea star and the Powermatic 80 has plastic components, making it almost a non-serviceable watch.
i have the quarts movement i wish i went with the automatic
Ah hopefully you'll be able to sell it and switch then! But in the meantime the quartz is still pretty awesome👍👍
Awesome video, subscribed.
