if this was your first video, you did a better job (lighting, sound, editing and pacing of your V.O.) than many, MANY seasoned youtubers out there. keep it up!
Oh wow thank you so much that's so nice of you to say!! I appreciate you saying that I put in a lot of thought into those aspects and making the video was so much more difficult because of it. I guess my countless hours of watching RUclips over the years wasn't a waste of time 😂😂
Yeah I'm seeing the ads before pretty much every video I watch! I hope it comes in quickly for you because its such a fun watch to wear and see in different lights
Amazing watch. I got the black one and i've been wearing it non stop ever since. Paid 475.00$ Canadian + tx and i did not regret this purchase for one second. Fits perfectly too.
Thanks for the review. One thing i like about your review: You actually measured the dimensions and laid it out for easy reading and comprehension. Please keep the detail review style. We love it.
Thank you so much! Yes for me having detailed dimensions is a critical part of any watch review bc there are soooo many dimensions that make a watch wear the way it does. I'm glad you liked the video, stay tuned!!
Awesome welcome to the channel! Yeah it's always bizarre when a review only mentions the case width and nothing else! Btw are there any watches on your radar that you're looking to potentially get? Who knows I might own one or might be looking to get one soon too and I can try to make a video on it
@@ocb05 I love both microbrands and mainstream brands and I'm always open to finding more about brands I don't know about! I'll admit that the microbrand world is currently hogging most of my attention. My next few videos are going to be microbrands like Lorier, Zelos, and Christopher Ward (if they can still be considered a microbrand lol) but then I've got videos planned for Seiko, GS, Tudor, Omega, and Rolex
Thank you so much! Both options you're choosing between are awesome Seiko is my favorite brand! But the tissot is just so striking and so different than any other watch I have so you'll definitely be happy with it if you're ok with the downsides of the Tissot that I talked about. Let me know which one you go for when you make the purchase!
I got mine yesterday, black dial, and I’m simply in love with it. While wearing it today/yesterday i have noticed that it calls peoples attention as well. I’m very happy
the quick release springbars are the for convenient battery change. It has snap on case back, then when you remove strap it is easier to put back the caseback
Ah ok yeah that would make it easier and it would avoid potentially scratching up the more visible parts of the case. Even then, I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for some rubber straps lol
Enjoyed your video. I'm thinking about getting this watch because of the overall looks. I think the automatic version might be a better choice because I'm like you. I can't stand misalignment between the seconds hand and the indices on quartz watches! Nice job. Look forward to more reviews.
Great review!! Convinced me to pick one of these up, also quartz version. Really looking forward to future strap options and hoping I don’t regret not getting the automatic
Thank you so much I'm glad you enjoyed the video and I'm glad i was able to help out! Yeah im still waiting for some extra straps months later but still no sign of anything! Thats awesome that you have both versions which colors did you get for each one?
Great vid! I got my PRX 2 weeks ago and I love it so much to the extent that I’d be just watching video reviews of it while wearing it on my wrist haha.. Hv also subscribed, cheers!
Thanks so much!! Yes I've been wanting an oysterquartz for a while but it was just wayyyyyyy to expensive but this more than makes up for it! As much as I love mechanical watches the ease of use and accuracy of a quartz is just so nice to have so I'm hoping you'll enjoy quartz as well. You're definitely starting off with the right watch 👍
I don’t mind the metal band it keeps it flush but a rubber band would make it more every day use for me, hopefully they come out with some maybe even leather too
I can't wait for Tissot to release a rubber strap! It'll be so comfortable and I feel like it'll really highlight the case finishing too. Fingers crossed they do it soon!
Really good review, thanks alot! The video quality is amazing and ur voice is nice to listen to. I'm considering getting the silver dial. I would label myself as a casual watch collector, I just have an average income and I think this watch is some great value at this price point. I especially love the look of the case and the simplicity of the dial. I already own the blue Tissot PR100 of which the dial looks kinda similar, but I'm just in love with this case. The only thing I actually dislike is the style of the text PRX. I'll give it a good thought but will probably pull the trigger. Anyways, thanks for the review, I subscribed and looking forward to future videos! Keep up the good work. Greetings from the Netherlands
Thank you so much, your words really mean a lot to me! The silver dial is really cool I love that it has the vertical brushing which isn't seen around very much and has a nice lower key feel. And you'll definitely enjoy the case a lot it was surprising to me how good it looks in person! I can't stop wrist rolling every time I wear it lol. Idk what the market is like in the Netherlands but in the US I'm starting to find them at a slight discount which is pretty cool Thanks for your comment and I hope you'll enjoy my future videos, I'm hoping to release weekly videos on Fridays!
Awesome thank you so much and welcome to the channel!! Thankfully I've been able to get out some more since then I'm going for weekly videos! (give or take a day😁) The PRX is an awesome watch despite the flaws, the wrist roll saves all! Definitely a unique watch given it's price point
I think if I got one I’d take off the seconds hand to make it really clean. (And like an original RO.) Kinda helps forget that annoying quartz tick and misalignment issues.
Oh wow I never thought about doing that!! That does sound like an awesome idea bc the misalignment is a bit too visible. I think it's time for me to look up some hand removal tools😁
I subscribed! And liked! I watch most of RUclips watch videos.... I can tell you that if you keep up that good informative, passionate, Opinionated content you will go far in that game. I love your Tudor silver bb vid too !!!
Awesome thank you so much and welcome to the channel! And wow your words mean so much to me I'm so happy to hear that my style of videos resonates with people! The nice thing about it is that the content of my videos are pretty much my end of the conversations I have with my watch friends about the watches I get. Except in a much more concise manner😂 I really appreciate your support, I started this because I wanted a place to talk about watches and hopefully build a community so I'm here for the long run and fingers crossed that others think the way you do!
Thank you for those kind words and welcome to the channel! The new video will be coming this Friday on the Lorier Hydra Series II so I'll see you then!
Thank you so much! Definitely having fun wrist rolling it everywhere I go! And yes next up is the Lorier Hydra Series II! A youtube short is coming out tomorrow and the full in depth review is coming Friday. See you then!
The selling point for this watch is the Bracelet and finish. Tissot kept it somewhat original with the quartz. The quartz is the better bang for your buck. The automatic version is not worth the extra 300 with that movement and dial. It should’ve had no date I agree. I rather get the Automatic Gentleman Model.
Good review and video. Subscribed. Just a request: please mention your wrist size when you show wrist shots. Without that information it's hard to judge if a watch that looks good on you, will look good on me too. Like your calm style, keep it up.
Much appreciated and welcome to the channel! I knew I was forgetting something not sure how that of all things slipped my mind considering it was one of the first things I said in my upcoming review! My wrist size is 7.5 inches, thanks for the reminder 👍
Awesome review man, lookin forward to more. It doesn't bother me as much that the seconds hands doesn't line up with the markers. I think it just authenticates the character of all Swiss quartz's. I'm dying to get one of those PRX's with the deep blue dial. Subbed 🤘
Thanks so much and welcome to the channel! That really means a lot to me and a new video is coming up tomorrow so good timing👍 Yeah I think I've gotten used to the misaligned seconds hand thankfully. And I actually never thought of it being a swiss thing until I just realized all my quartz watches are japanese😂😂 Hopefully you get one soon these are awesome watches. And when you do, let me know what you think about it!
Great video question I see this watch is hot right now is selling out fast especially in the blue dial quartz version. will this watch go up in value sky rocket? Thank you
Thanks man! Yeah it's a hot watch but at this point I think that, at best, all it will do is retain it's full value bc it's a regular production watch being built in large numbers. If Tissot for some reason decided to pull the plug on the PRX then it would be a different story but that doesn't seem likely. Either way it's a super fun watch!
Thank you so much and welcome to the channel! Yes definitely try it on to see how it is and if you have any other questions about the PRX Also do you have any other watches that you're looking to potentially get in the future? I could by chance already own it or may be looking to get one and then I can try to make a video on it!
Thanks! The upcoming videos will be the Lorier Hydra Series II and then the Zelos Swordfish 40! Oh man I've learned that it's best to wipe the misaligned seconds hand from my memory and just do wrist rolls all the time lol
good review, this is a handsome watch and is being heavily advertised...full page ad in this months GQ magazine...so the seconds hand missing some of the marks is poor...I have bought 6 quartz watches in the past 3 years from £40 to £170 UK,3of them(citizen, rotary, armani)miss a few marks but hit most of them, the other 3(2seiko solar and an accurist)hit all the marks...so it's pretty much hit and miss what you get (excuse the pun)
Totally agree with you! I would have been fine if the seconds hand even just touched the markers I'd be happier but it just doesn't. If the rest of the watch wasn't so much fun I would have definitely returned it already. Yeah I've had much cheaper seiko and citizen quartz movements land pretty much spot on so no excuses for the Swatch Group! (pun excused it was a good one😂)
i have this watch black faced---thin-lightweight-brushed bracelet-its unique-doesnt look like a homage-the second hand issue is a total non issue with me----whats not to like?....my everyday efficient timepiece:)
I didn't realise from your recent sotc vid you were so new to the game, you have a really cool laid back style and nice humour, channel will grow and grow. Just bought one of these on offer and hoping it will fit my 6.5 inch wrist OK
Congrats on getting a PRX! How are you liking it in person now? DId it fit your wrist well? Thanks man that really means a lot to me that youre enjoying the overall feel of the channel! What you described is what I was going for bc in the end my videos are pretty much my side of the conversations I have with my watch nut friends lol! Yeah hopefully the channel keeps growing to be able to connect with more fellow watch nuts!
@@thewatchidiot yes I have it and yes I have no issue with the fit on my 6.5 inch wrist. It's a great versatile piece to have in the box and really love the fact its a grab and go quartz and always ready for action lol
Very happy to have found your channel and I hope you continue. Great review and love your informal style., I was not planning another purchase but this one has me seriously tempted. Like a lot of folks, I see the 40mm diameter as a drawback. Would have loved much smaller. Love the integrated look. Wondering if this is not a trial balloon by Tissot and if we will not see an auto version with some changes soon. Keep it up! Best of luck. Already subscribed, Awesome ! P
Thank you so much for your words they really do mean a lot to me! These videos are a lot of work but I'll be continuing on bc it's fun and I just love talking about watches! Yeah I wish it was 38mm that would have been perfect especially since the integrated style makes it wear larger. Yes the automatic version is coming soon! It's going to have a waffle/tapisserie dial and everything else will stay the same. I'm hoping that they release some straps soon bc that'll make the watch wear much smaller and I also do hope they see the response and maybe release a 36mm (if they don't want two sizes close to each other) bc I would totally wear a 36mm version!
@@thewatchidiot Fingers crossed. And kudos for being the only one to spot the non-alignment of the seconds hand with the indices. A bit of a bummer but still in the running. Stay safe.
Thanks although I would have preferred not having to spot a misaligned hand in the first place! But it's still such a fun watch to wear so I'm glad to hear it's still in the running for you. Stay safe too👍
Yeah looks great and since I wear it only every so often it doesn't bother me as much as I thought it would. Mostly bc I'm wrist rolling the whole time😂 Yeah Casio gets it right pretty much all the time I had a duro a while back and it was spot on! Swatch Group needs to step up!
Hey man, great video (especially for a first video). I’m sure it’s WAY harder than we all realize. Keep ‘em coming. You had me at “I’m a guy that’s going to talk about watches” ;)
Thank you so much that means a lot to me!! Yes when I went into making this video I thought it would be much easier than it actually was! Definitely didn't expect how much time, coordination, and editing it all takes! But it's very fulfilling and fun to be able to help and talk to fellow watch nuts! (And hopefully I've earned a sub from you😁)
most quartz don't line up with the markers, only some high end quartz like Grand Seiko quartz or earlier generation Seiko Grand Quartz plus a few other high end quartz does that
Yeah for sure gotta love GS quartz movements! That's true that most don't line up perfectly but I just wasn't expecting an ETA quartz to miss completely! I was hoping it would at least land somewhere on the indices and markers I think I got spoiled by my Citizen ecodrives cheap but all perfectly aligned! Hopefully I didn't jinx myself 😂
Yeah I've learned to just do a wrist roll every time I see the seconds hand to forget it hahaha Nice! I actually love it when a watch like the PRX knocks out the bigger players in my collection for a little while 😄
Really impressed with the video if it's your first one mate! New subscriber here.. I'm really tempted to buy this, but I might wait until June when they bring out the automatic version of this and consider getting that. Tricky one though because this is like half the price of what the auto will be so I could get this and use the leftover money to get my next watch! Love tissots also tempted by the le locle in white
Thank you so much, that means a lot to me!! And welcome to the channel! (Good timing my latest video is being uploaded as I type 😁) Yeah the PRX is so much fun! Yeah unless you're having a serious urge to get one immediately, you might as well wait to see what the new automatic is like. I really like it but yeah the price doubling scared me a bit hahah. And you can't go wrong with the Le Locle! Absolute classic👍 Both the Le Locle and the quartz PRX with leave you with a few more dollars for the next watch so you've got quite the decision coming up!
Thank you that means a lot to me! I had to put in a lot of extra effort for it and thankfully it's getting a bit easier😁! My next video is coming out on Saturday and I stepped up the b-roll so hopefully you'll enjoy it👍
Awesome thank you so much and welcome to the channel! I'm going to be posting a youtube short tomorrow about the Hydra II and the full in depth video will be coming this Friday so stay tuned! (Spoiler alert it's incredible 😁)
Oh man those beauty shots got my wallet feeling nervous lol! Also how often does the dial become a matte finish? I can see it bothering me but if it's not too bad I think I can make it work. Awesome video, new sub 👍👍
Hahahahha oh man my wallet and I know that feeling all too well 😂 But the matte finish doesn't show up to often or at too many angles. Pretty much only when it's directly facing a light. That being said, the matte finish is more apparent than the finishes on other watches with the same type of dial. On my Zelos Swordfish 40 and on my islander the matte finish barely ever shows up
Thanks for the review, I bought it yesterday new for less then 300. I usually collect hand crankers and I enjoy quartz watches for the reason you mentioned of just picking them up and having it running.
That's an amazing deal!! Can I ask where you bought it from? Yeah the ease of quartz being ready to go all the time is so nice. It's happened a few times that I didn't wear the watch I wanted to wear simply bc I was too lazy to go through my time and date setting and synchronization process 😂😂
@@thewatchidiot Eli Adams Jewlers, I bought the black one I think they had sold out of the blue. But I figured for the price if I did not really like I could sell it and get the money back no problem.
Nice I'll look them up but yeah at under 300 it's totally worth it and yeah should be easy to get your money back if need be. Btw does the black dial have the vertical brushed dial? I've barely seen any videos on it and the one I saw looked to have the vertical brushed dial even tho the tissot site shows it as a sunburst dial
Yes it looks great. The second hand not hitting the markers is a big no for me. My Seiko's and Citizen's all hit the markers. Probably take the Casio Oceanus over this. 375 is a lot for this fashion watch with a cheap quartz in it. Parnis offers Seiko Mecca Quartz for 75 bucks with domed Sapphire.
Yeah all my Seikos and citizens hit the mark too at lower prices. However, the experience that the tissot gives when it's on wrist is pretty much unlike anything else at it's price point bc of how well the bracelet flows over the wrist and how incredible the finishing is on the case Definitely would have liked paying less bc of the seconds hand but even at 375 the case and bracelet are so good that I have no regrets!
Time to trot out the "misaligned second hands argument" again. The major cause of second hand misalignment is backlash in the gear mechanism that drives the watch hands. Yes, quartz watches have gears, and backlash is necessary in any gear assembly to function properly. Another factor is slight misalignment of the movement inside the case. This misalignment can be caused by thermal expansion in the case. A movement surrounded by "anti shock" material actually "floats" within the case, so as it moves slightly due to slight physical shock or compression and expansion of the case, it can get slightly off center. So does this only happen to quartz watches? Nope Of course not. But it's due to Quartz's, 1hz tick, that it is much more noticeable. Even automatics have misalignment, but because their secondhand "ticks" typically in 3hz or 4hz intervals, it is basically not discernable with the human eye. Quartz watches could do the same. All it takes is to make a stepper motor that operates at 4hz instead of 1 hz. This is easy because all you have to do is vibrate the quartz crystal at 4 times the current frequency and use the same divider network to lower the frequency to 4 hz, or simply remove two division steps. Either way. you can get the stepper motor to run at 4hz with no real issue. Except power drain. And there in lies the rub. When quartz watches were created in 1971, watch batteries were lucky to last a year. So putting a 4hz stepper motor and vibrating the crystal at 4 times the rate meant you had to replace the battery every 3 or 4 months. Not good. So, in order to make quartz watches consumer friendly with existing battery technology, the decision was to set the stepper motor to 1 hz, and thus the distinctive "quartz tick" was born. It was and continues to be, a power saving feature, nothing more. Battery technology has gotten better, so watch manufacturers could "fix this" pretty easily and cheaply. But why waste battery power on something that is utterly and purely cosmetic? Bulova added a buttery smooth movement to it's Precisionist lineup, and it really hasn't translated to greatly increased sales amongst watch enthusiasts. Even though it's 8 to 16hz second hand movement is smoother than most mechanicals, these watches haven't really been embraced by those who complain about the 1 second "tick", or "misalignment". It's still quartz, and that's the real issue. So misalignment is little more than a cudgel, designed to denigrate quartz movements with. And it's patently ridiculous. The original 1978 "seastar" which served as the model for the current PRX was in fact a quartz watch. The quartz version is actually the more accurate representation of this watch's place in Horological history. The quartz version is roughly 10x more accurate and 1/2 the price. It seems to me, the powermatic was simply created to appease watch snobs, too closed minded to wear a quartz watch.
hmmmm so I think that the PRX could work for your wrist size but it really depends on the shape of your wrist. I happen to have more circular wrists, whereas some people have smaller BUT flatter wrists (on top) which lets them wear bigger watches. what shape is the top of your wrist? So in the end, If possible it would be best to try it out in person or to buy from a store/site that has a really good return policy👍👍
Hey THE WATCH IDIOT , The GREATEST thing about you is that you reply to each & every comment below, which almost none on the RUclips does ! keep it up 👍👍 BEST regards, from 🇮🇳 I N D I A 🇮🇳
I tried to reply to your comment when you first posted it but it said it was unavailable for some reason!!!! Sorry about the delay but thank you so much for noticing it!! And no worries whenever you comment in the future my reply will come in much quicker😁😁
Subscribed :) The seconds hand not hitting those markers is a complete deal breaker for me. Might wait for the automatic version, though I am not the biggest fan of waffle dials.
Welcome to the channel, it means a lot to me! The seconds hand was one of the main reasons I came sooooooo close to returning it. For the first week I had it I didn't even size it for my wrist bc it would void the return to Tissot! The automatic version will definitely be really cool although I do wish they had non waffle dial options. But seeing how popular the PRX has already gotten fingers crossed that they'll release more dials!
YES that dial is so cool and I love the rail master! Actually I mention it in my next review on the Lorier Hydra Series II bc I fell in love with the railmaster bracelet when I first wore it and the Lorier bracelet gives me that same vibe
Interestingly, I realised (after quite a bit of time) that the only thing I hate about quartz is when they don’t hit the markers on the chapter ring. I feel I need a quartz in my collection, and I was kind of hoping the PRX would be it... but.. sadly no. Btw. watching your video the blue sunburst is not that bad... I mean clearly there is sunburst and there is sunburst.. not all the same. Great video btw, I like the presentation style and the details you are mentioning.
and by the way I was thinking maybe walking into one of the AD’s around and trying on a few PRX-es until I find one that hits the markers with the seconds hand ? What what would you say are my chances ? I think all I’ve seen in reviews the seconds hand was misaligned with the dial/markers.
Right there with you I can't wait for Tissot to release those straps it'll fix most of the big issues that I have with the PRX Fingers crossed that it'll come out with the automatic version!
Thank you so much! The black dial is sososo cool how's the vertical brushing on the dial? Thanks! it's from Warby Parker and I'm 95% sure it was the tortoise shell "Percy" style👍
@@thewatchidiot it’s insane! I really enjoy it. Most of my collection is automatic, but I really like this being quartz. I didn’t really have a black dial quartz watch except a duro (but that’s a dive watch). And thanks for the information! I’m gonna try that style of glasses to see if it suits me!
Yeah it's a super fun watch to wear and to just stare at it moving on wrist hahah! Same I'm mostly automatics but I love quartz watches the ease of use and accuracy is a welcome change of pace. I really need to get myself a casio duro at some point. I've seen so much of it and I think I'll love it quartz+diver+amazing price is a good combo😁
Amen to that, if the likes of Seiko and Citizen can get the seconds hand right the Swatch Group should too! (That being said Seiko has their own problems to deal with😂)
Yeah pretty ridiculous and at first I thought ok maybe I was unlucky and got one misaligned seconds hand. But pretty much every watch in every video I've watched messed it up! They've got some soul searching to do😄
I really do think it is better than the automatic! I wasn't a huge fan of the tapisserie dial when it was released and I wasn't a fan of the price doubling either! As a watch I think it's definitely cool because of the powermatic 80 movement. But for me personally, a full on dive watch guy, I just know that I wouldn't wear it much
Great review, love the format! How the hell can an affordable luxury watch brand have a watch which misses its indices? It makes it look like a cheap fashion watch.
Awesome thank you so much!! Yeah it's unfortunate that a few of the bezel markers don't line up for sure but thankfully it's not Seiko level misalignment lolol! Thankfully the bezel is usually covered in it's own reflection or that of the crystal so it's not visible all the time 👍
Oh wait my bad I thought your comment was on my other video 😂! I feel waaaayyyyy more strongly about Tissot's seconds hand not hitting its marks!!! Definitely shouldn't be happening with a Swatch brand and I was sooooo cost to returning it because of the second hand! But everything else was just too cool to do so haha
So yes and no. It's very eye-catching bc of the way it plays with the light but in terms of flashy and blingy I don't think it is because it doesn't have polished surfaces. I usually wear small dive watches so the PRX is definitely more bold than I'm used to but I absolutely love looking at it bc of how incredible the bracelet looks when I wear it! The silver dial is an awesome choice I think it'll be a bit more understated too👍👍
I wish that was it but the calipers I use are plastic! The scratches came about within the first few days despite me barely wearing it initially. Thankfully the watch is here to stay!
Great review, but really every 316L watch will scratch the same way, unless treated or coated in some way, which are rare exceptions. As much as people would like to justify to themselves that their high end luxury watch is more resistance to scratches, that's just nonsense. There's no dark magic here.
Thanks!! Yeah treated steels are awesome for someone who babies their watches like me lol! I totally agree that most steels are roughly the same however out of the 40+ watches that I've have come through my collection of various price points (and some titanium which is technically more scratchible) the tissot really was scratched the most easily despite doing some ultra babying because I was thinking of returning it😂 my other watches that I've worn way more are still looking fresh. (That being said I want to start getting some natural scratches on my keeper watches to give them some character!)
Loooool oh man they don't make them like they used to!! Sad to see that the misaligned seconds hand is so common especially for a big brand like Tissot
Yes it's supposed to be June, can't wait to try it out! And hopefully they'll release some extra leather and rubber straps, it'll give the watch a whole new look and feel 🤞🤞
@@thewatchidiot have you heard of Armand Nicolet watches? I've been looking at em online send the j09 I believe the number is, is a great looking watch, and a strap monster from the looks of it
Very good video ! Excellent edition and also very good job 'in front of the camera' if you know what I mean. Regarding to the watch I love it, it reminds me my old Oysterquartz which unfortunately had to sell. I could not deside between the quartz and the auto so I've bought the two - love the quartz as an 'every day watch' always 'ready to go' and the movement, the exhibition case back, and the more elaborated dial of the auto for a bit more 'sophisticated' ocational watch - As I said, very good job, thumbs up and a new suscriptor here ;)
Thank you so much and welcome to the channel!!! I'm glad you enjoyed the presentation and the video. But yeah it's an awesome watch for sure and it's so cool that you got both versions bc I do think that their experiences are quite different. Which dial colors did you get for each??
@@thewatchidiot thank you for the reply my friend 😉 I've got the black face for the quartz and the blue 'waffle' dial for the automatic. Both excellent watches for the money! 😃
Yes I still have this watch! And it's like you've read my mind bc my next video is actually going to be about the PRX😁! But I still do like it very much bc it offers crazy good value bc there arent many other watches in this price point that manages to pull off this look this well. I still really love the finish of the case and they way the bracelet feels and looks on my wrist. That being said, as much as I love it, I dont wear it nearly as often as I would like to bc i'm a full on dive watch guy. So I think I'll be selling it unfortunately
Thats so awesome to hear I'm so happy to hear that I was able to help out a bit! It really is a pretty cool watch, how are you liking the watch so far?
Nice bro - I just recorded a review of this too will post it soon once I edit it - had all three in hand it’s interesting to see them side by side - blue is for sure the best color for me
@@thewatchidiot yes the black is very dark it feels like it absorbs all the light and the white is really more metal/silver looking to me you can really see the vertical brushing on that one
"I'm a dive watch guy." *shows a SARB Alpinist in the photo montage* On a more serious note, this may be the first watch where I would prefer the quartz version. I fear the Powermatic 80 version will be noticeably thicker.
Loooooool the alpinist can perform better than some divers I guess! Hahahah I included that in the part I was talking about having any sort of rotateable bezel/inner ring to time all the useless things I time lol Yeah I completely agree with you on the thickness they haven't released the thickness yet so fingers crossed it's not too much of an increase! If it hits 12mm I think the flow of the case might be ruined a bit
I’m afraid I became distracted from your review as soon as I became aware of how many times you said “ER...” I don’t mean any disrespect to you sir (most of us have some kind of verbal tic) but if you are going to speak in public, it’s important to understand how you ‘come across’ to others. Slowing your delivery down a little may help. Good luck with your channel.

I just ordered the PRX. The marketing was relentlessly following me around and I had to pick it up.
Nice the black dial is pretty awesome with the vertical brushing! 475 CAD is definite a great deal for what youre getting!!

@@thewatchidiot subscribed. Yeah, that kind of info helps a lot in buying decisions. Some review videos don't even do that.
Awesome welcome to the channel! Yeah it's always bizarre when a review only mentions the case width and nothing else!
Btw are there any watches on your radar that you're looking to potentially get? Who knows I might own one or might be looking to get one soon too and I can try to make a video on it
@@thewatchidiot do you do micro brands or mainstream brands?
@@ocb05 I love both microbrands and mainstream brands and I'm always open to finding more about brands I don't know about! I'll admit that the microbrand world is currently hogging most of my attention.
My next few videos are going to be microbrands like Lorier, Zelos, and Christopher Ward (if they can still be considered a microbrand lol) but then I've got videos planned for Seiko, GS, Tudor, Omega, and Rolex
I've bin wanting to get a tissot prx or seiko SRPE53 and now I'm leaning more towards the tissot. Great review.
What a complete review! Definitely enjoyed this video! Keep it up!
Awesome I'm so happy that you enjoyed it! Onwards we go this Friday I'll be posting my Lorier Hydra Series II video!
the quick release springbars are the for convenient battery change.
Hv also subscribed, cheers!
a watch so nice you commented twice! 😂
Love it for the Oysterquartz vibe. This will be my first quartz watch. Great review 👍
You're definitely starting off with the right watch 👍
just bought it last monday and loving it !
That's awesome congrats man!! Wrist rolling with it will never get old 😄
Nice first video, covering the pros and cons well, in an honest and real way.
Thank you so much I'm glad you appreciated the info! Sometimes it's the little details that can make or break a watch that should be talked about!
@@thewatchidiot agree. Have my eyes on the powermatic 80 version to be out middle of the year. Looking forward!
Same here that'll be so nice and hopefully at that time they'll release some extra straps too!
Idk what the market is like in the Netherlands but in the US I'm starting to find them at a slight discount which is pretty cool
Thanks for your comment and I hope you'll enjoy my future videos, I'm hoping to release weekly videos on Fridays!
Great review I've subscribed and looking forward to more reviews. I'm definitely thinking about getting the PRX it looks stunning. 👍👍
Awesome thank you so much and welcome to the channel!! Thankfully I've been able to get out some more since then I'm going for weekly videos! (give or take a day😁)
The PRX is an awesome watch despite the flaws, the wrist roll saves all!
Mines ticking on the dots.. I'm happy to be lucky lol!

great video, and a beautiful watch, enjoy it; looking forward to your next video!
That really means a lot to me and a new video is coming up tomorrow so good timing👍
Yeah I think I've gotten used to the misaligned seconds hand thankfully. And I actually never thought of it being a swiss thing until I just realized all my quartz watches are japanese😂😂
Hopefully you get one soon these are awesome watches. And when you do, let me know what you think about it!
great review love the Leica in the backgroud
Interesting , informative and balanced review! 😊
Awesome! I'm glad you found it useful!
Great video
question I see this watch is hot right now is selling out fast especially in the blue dial quartz version. will this watch go up in value sky rocket?
Thank you
Really Nice review! Im thinking of buying this watch but i will try it on first to be sure it fits my wrist. It looks great!
I subscribed btw :)
Thank you so much and welcome to the channel! Yes definitely try it on to see how it is and if you have any other questions about the PRX
Also do you have any other watches that you're looking to potentially get in the future? I could by chance already own it or may be looking to get one and then I can try to make a video on it!
I just bought one (4/22) and the second hand aligns perfectly. Either it’s fixed or it varies copy to copy.
Great thorough review ! Looking forward to what you have coming next! Thar seconds hand alignment tho 😡
Thanks! The upcoming videos will be the Lorier Hydra Series II and then the Zelos Swordfish 40!
Oh man I've learned that it's best to wipe the misaligned seconds hand from my memory and just do wrist rolls all the time lol
Great first video, looking forward to more
Thank you so much!! Yes lots more to come there's going to be a video every week! 👍
good review, this is a handsome watch and is being heavily advertised...full page ad in this months GQ magazine...so the seconds hand missing some of the marks is poor...I have bought 6 quartz watches in the past 3 years from £40 to £170 UK,3of them(citizen, rotary, armani)miss a few marks but hit most of them, the other 3(2seiko solar and an accurist)hit all the marks...so it's pretty much hit and miss what you get (excuse the pun)
That's great to hear and yeah quartz definitely has its place in a collection! I wouldn't have it any other way😁
Very happy to have found your channel and I hope you continue.
Stay safe too👍
Definitely looks super good. The hand alignment would bother me. My $80 Casio edifice is right on. The look is killer though.
Yeah looks great and since I wear it only every so often it doesn't bother me as much as I thought it would. Mostly bc I'm wrist rolling the whole time😂
Yeah Casio gets it right pretty much all the time I had a duro a while back and it was spot on! Swatch Group needs to step up!
It's a reissue of the 1978 Tissot Seastar! Nothing more, nothing less! I have one! The quartz movement is not easy to set on my original!
(And hopefully I've earned a sub from you😁)
@@thewatchidiot Yes you did
Thanks man! Welcome to the channel!😁
most quartz don't line up with the markers, only some high end quartz like Grand Seiko quartz or earlier generation Seiko Grand Quartz plus a few other high end quartz does that
Yeah for sure gotta love GS quartz movements! That's true that most don't line up perfectly but I just wasn't expecting an ETA quartz to miss completely! I was hoping it would at least land somewhere on the indices and markers
I think I got spoiled by my Citizen ecodrives cheap but all perfectly aligned! Hopefully I didn't jinx myself 😂
If Casio can do it regularly, maybe it’s not rocket science.

Wow it's fantastic... blue dial is out of stock hard to get...if Tissot can do so well so do ap and Rolex totally salute them...👍👍👍
Oh wow I didn't realize that it's still out of stock! Tissot definitely deserves a salute for this one hopefully they can keep it up!!
İ have the silver, left sidd not hitting the seconds markers but right side hitting it. İ dont care overall its not a rolex
also i have a submariner and i am not wearing it about a month thanks to prx :)
Yeah I've learned to just do a wrist roll every time I see the seconds hand to forget it hahaha
Nice! I actually love it when a watch like the PRX knocks out the bigger players in my collection for a little while 😄
I would buy a quartz prx if i can grab it in person. And make sure that second hand is on point. Its next on my list
(Good timing my latest video is being uploaded as I type 😁)
Yeah the PRX is so much fun! Yeah unless you're having a serious urge to get one immediately, you might as well wait to see what the new automatic is like. I really like it but yeah the price doubling scared me a bit hahah. And you can't go wrong with the Le Locle! Absolute classic👍
Both the Le Locle and the quartz PRX with leave you with a few more dollars for the next watch so you've got quite the decision coming up!
Good production for your first video, keep it up.

Oh man those beauty shots got my wallet feeling nervous lol! Also how often does the dial become a matte finish? I can see it bothering me but if it's not too bad I think I can make it work. Awesome video, new sub 👍👍
Hahahahha oh man my wallet and I know that feeling all too well 😂
But the matte finish doesn't show up to often or at too many angles. Pretty much only when it's directly facing a light. That being said, the matte finish is more apparent than the finishes on other watches with the same type of dial. On my Zelos Swordfish 40 and on my islander the matte finish barely ever shows up
Subscribed - good video. I'll check out some of the other reviews you've done since this one. Cheers!
@@thewatchidiot its supposed to be brushed once I get it will let you know.
Awesome that would be great! I might then try to sell my blue one and get the black one if it has a vertical brush bc it would just look so cool!
Mine hits 6 to 12 markers spot on 😁
You're so lucky!!! If only mine would even just touch the sides of the markers instead of completely missing it😂
Yes it looks great.
However, the experience that the tissot gives when it's on wrist is pretty much unlike anything else at it's price point bc of how well the bracelet flows over the wrist and how incredible the finishing is on the case
Definitely would have liked paying less bc of the seconds hand but even at 375 the case and bracelet are so good that I have no regrets!
Nice to see your debut. Best wishes.
Hahaha oh man this somehow feels like ages ago! Thank you for the wishes and I'm glad you're enjoying the videos!
Hello, my wrists are 17 cm. The shoe distance of this watch is 52 mm. Do you think this watch is suitable for me?Please help
hmmmm so I think that the PRX could work for your wrist size but it really depends on the shape of your wrist. I happen to have more circular wrists, whereas some people have smaller BUT flatter wrists (on top) which lets them wear bigger watches. what shape is the top of your wrist?
So in the end, If possible it would be best to try it out in person or to buy from a store/site that has a really good return policy👍👍
@@thewatchidiot The watch is not in stock, I have to order it, we will see it when it comes, thanks

The seconds hand not hitting those markers is a complete deal breaker for me.
I also don’t like sunburst dials. That vertical brushed silver dial looks awesome though. Almost as cool as the Omega Railmaster.
If it had a rubber strap I would be interested just cant get on board those bracelet straps .
Right there with you I can't wait for Tissot to release those straps it'll fix most of the big issues that I have with the PRX
Fingers crossed that it'll come out with the automatic version!

Awesome review! I got myself the black dial version! Side note: really like your glasses! Do you happen to remember what kind they are?
I don't mind a quartz watch. That second hand better be hitting the indices though.
Amen to that, if the likes of Seiko and Citizen can get the seconds hand right the Swatch Group should too!
(That being said Seiko has their own problems to deal with😂)
@@thewatchidiot Somehow my $47 Casio Duro can do it but a watch SEVEN times more expensive can't figure it out?
Yeah pretty ridiculous and at first I thought ok maybe I was unlucky and got one misaligned seconds hand. But pretty much every watch in every video I've watched messed it up! They've got some soul searching to do😄
detailed dial dimensions super helpful!
It's hard to argue with a fairly successful video for a new channel, but I don't like the title. Better than the automatic? (Which doesn't exist yet).
I really do think it is better than the automatic!
I wasn't a huge fan of the tapisserie dial when it was released and I wasn't a fan of the price doubling either!
As a watch I think it's definitely cool because of the powermatic 80 movement. But for me personally, a full on dive watch guy, I just know that I wouldn't wear it much
The brands may not have things line up on purpose what do you think??
@@thewatchidiot True, your review changed my mind about buying this watch, for that I thank you :)
Hahahahaha I'm glad I could help save you some money! Do you think the automatic version would be more up your alley?
@@thewatchidiot Hope so, I really dig the gerald genta design and zenith defy classic is still out of reach haha
Is it formal looking enough for a wedding watch?
Isnt the watch too blingy or flashy / eye catching when wearing? I consider the silver dial version.
The silver dial is an awesome choice I think it'll be a bit more understated too👍👍
Good luck with the channel.
Much appreciated! Hope to see you in my future videos 👍
Great Job!
Thanks!! I'm glad you enjoyed the video👍
Scratch seems to be from your measuring tool which you used to chk width.
I totally agree that most steels are roughly the same however out of the 40+ watches that I've have come through my collection of various price points (and some titanium which is technically more scratchible) the tissot really was scratched the most easily despite doing some ultra babying because I was thinking of returning it😂
my other watches that I've worn way more are still looking fresh. (That being said I want to start getting some natural scratches on my keeper watches to give them some character!)
I subscribed! Nice review 👍
Awesome thank you so much and welcome to the channel!! I'm glad you enjoyed the video too😁😁
Just checked my 15 years old PR50 and the seconds mark hit rate is close to 100%, Tissot is slipping!
Loooool oh man they don't make them like they used to!! Sad to see that the misaligned seconds hand is so common especially for a big brand like Tissot
I'm excited for this prx to come in the automatic version, I've read it's coming in June?
Yes it's supposed to be June, can't wait to try it out! And hopefully they'll release some extra leather and rubber straps, it'll give the watch a whole new look and feel 🤞🤞
@@thewatchidiot have you heard of Armand Nicolet watches? I've been looking at em online send the j09 I believe the number is, is a great looking watch, and a strap monster from the looks of it
The name rings a bell but I looked it up and they look solid! The gmt and chronograph versions look pretty cool in the grey
@@thewatchidiot thank you for the reply my friend 😉
I've got the black face for the quartz and the blue 'waffle' dial for the automatic. Both excellent watches for the money! 😃
That's awesome! I love the vertical brushing on the black version so it sounds like an awesome duo😁
@@thewatchidiot indeed my friend ! Again, thank you for the reply, excellent job, keep it up !!! 😉👍
I feel like one can scratch polished steel just by looking at it… I think air scratches it… 😉👍🏻
Looool air is abrasive so I'm pretty sure that's exactly what happened to the case scratches! 😂😂
Excellent video. Not idiot at all
Hahahaha thanks man, much appreciated! (For both compliments 😂😂)
Nice! Wow!
Do you still have this watch? has your opinions changed since this video or do you still think the same?
Yes I still have this watch! And it's like you've read my mind bc my next video is actually going to be about the PRX😁! But I still do like it very much bc it offers crazy good value bc there arent many other watches in this price point that manages to pull off this look this well. I still really love the finish of the case and they way the bracelet feels and looks on my wrist. That being said, as much as I love it, I dont wear it nearly as often as I would like to bc i'm a full on dive watch guy. So I think I'll be selling it unfortunately
I got it the next day I watch you’re video
Thats so awesome to hear I'm so happy to hear that I was able to help out a bit! It really is a pretty cool watch, how are you liking the watch so far?
@@thewatchidiot it’s great my friend
All good, just please don't do the "click it!!" thing, MWC does it already ;)
He said doodoo. “Once you doodoo that”.
Only bc it was my doody to say so
You’re awesome!!
Thank you and you're awesome for thinking I'm awesome! 😁😁
Nice video man! Out of curiosity what race are you?
Thanks so much! Watch lubricant runs through my veins lol
@@thewatchidiot haha! For real though! Indian?
Hahaha I'm originally from Bangladesh!
Nice bro - I just recorded a review of this too will post it soon once I edit it - had all three in hand it’s interesting to see them side by side - blue is for sure the best color for me
Awesome! Yeah as much as I like the vertical brushing of the black dial the blue just looks too good😁
@@thewatchidiot yes the black is very dark it feels like it absorbs all the light and the white is really more metal/silver looking to me you can really see the vertical brushing on that one
Ah nice nice I might need to try one of those on!
It's good on you cause you have a huge wrist!!!! Otherwise, the size is idiotic!
"I'm a dive watch guy."
*shows a SARB Alpinist in the photo montage*
On a more serious note, this may be the first watch where I would prefer the quartz version. I fear the Powermatic 80 version will be noticeably thicker.
Loooooool the alpinist can perform better than some divers I guess! Hahahah I included that in the part I was talking about having any sort of rotateable bezel/inner ring to time all the useless things I time lol
Yeah I completely agree with you on the thickness they haven't released the thickness yet so fingers crossed it's not too much of an increase! If it hits 12mm I think the flow of the case might be ruined a bit

37 is a good number especially for watch sizes lol! Welcome to the channel
Great vid! I got my PRX 2 weeks ago and I love it so much to the extent that I’d be just watching video reviews of it while wearing it on my wrist haha.. Hv also subscribed, cheers!
Awesome welcome to the channel! Hahahah I thought I was the only one who did that!! I usually overload on rewatching reviews before I get a watch and then finally I watch my favorite reviews with the watch on wrist bc I can just glance down and there it is!
