I sold the SM300M to get the Monochrome on rubber and would never go back! Love the Monochrome on the rubber but only on the rubber! on other bracelet find it very boring, no stand out at all, the rubber makes the difference(at least for me)! ✌
For me, it has been as good as I hoped. Maybe because it's my first entry level diver which I bought new and I got that new watch tape off experience, or something else. I had BB smiley and selling that to buy this is easily best decision I have made. Just loving contrast of all the shining parts against matte black bezel. And that jubilee is pure awesome.
the new watch experience is a pretty satisfying one no doubt! Tudor did a great job with this watch for sure its pure quality. And I agree, whenever i wear it i love all the crisp contrast and the look of an aluminum bezel is fantastic. Makes me want to keep it now!
Personally I’m loving my BB41 Monochrome. Honestly surprised how much I do like it. Simplicity and the 5 link is different from my oyster Rolex bracelets on my Explorer and Submariner. It is my Explorer which is loosing out on wrist time with the addition of BB41. That’s great thing about this hobby - we can all have our own opinions and wear what we like. For me the BB41 is a huge winner and my preferred daily over my Rolex and Omega collection.
There is no reason that the clasp could not have a hardness coating on it, it is inexpensive and very practical. I have the Tuseno Shellback which has a similar monochrome look, Tuseno put a coating on the clasp and I still have not managed to put a mark on it. I love the look of the Black Bay 41. Nice review.
Great vid as always. But help me understand that a monochrome black bay goes away, but the monochrome SPB stays? Both dont have a lot going on on the dial and could be considered a bit unremarkable. I’m considering the spb but the absolute lak of enbelishmants on the dial hold me back.
It's all about the burgundy bezel for me. I was initially not a fan of the snowflake hand but have come around to it. The combination of the colored bezel and gilt/offwhite handset and markers are what make my particular example a standout in my collection. My only gripe is that the center polish clasp does scratch easily and I don't know why these larger companies refuse to use any protective coating. The clasp on my Zelos Vitesse is still flawless...
Given your last video about your seamaster I'm not surprised! Although the seamaster and BB41 are pretty different i can see how they might step on each other's toes in your collection especially with the pelagos around. It would be interesting to see a comparison video of the BB41 and seamaster as well as the pelagos
Yeah the writing was in the wall the moment the SMP came back lol! But while I was editing this video, the BB41 was tempting me again making me want to keep it but I know I can't. Yeah a comparison video between it and the SMP would be interesting given their similar ish price point and overall quality and the BB41's bracelet advantage. Time for me to get to work then!
Great video as always. Really can’t blame you for blowing the Tudor away with the arrival of that stunning black dial Seamaster. Kinda hard to beat that Omega!
I'm saving up for the monochrome 41mm 😁 already a BB owner of 54 and 36mm (Anthracite). Need something big in my collection and the BB monochrome 41mm seems the perfect tudor sub for me!
@iamjzr 5 link 100% that's a sexy bracelet and I also got 3 links on my 54 so don't want none on my monochrome 41mm. I have tried the watch in person at an AD it was nice man but I couldn't buy the display one have to wait...
Nope, ISO but more importantly, what are the specs? Bare minimum and outdated considering the number of powerful magnets that are ubiquitous today. The mag chargers are about 2x ISO, laptop speakers, desk top speakers… Just get a basic compass and test your watches, and that might explain if they are running off of specs. Fortunately, demagnetizing and/or demagnetizers are relatively easy and cheap. But annoying.
Yeah unfortunately magnets are getting stronger especially magsafe magnets. I have a peak design back pack and the main latch is a fairly strong magnet and there are multiple other magnets around the back pack. When i was traveling i tried to keep the willard as far from the magnets as possible but over the course of the day it got magnetized. Thankfully demagnetizing it afterwards was very quick!
For someone who lives in Switzerland and have been owning watches for a very long time I can tell you that Tudor is currently the best built watches out there...even surpases some Rolex
Forstner is awesome but unfortunately they havent released bracelets for these new 21mm lug width BB41s. Hopefully they release them soon, although it would make be reconsider selling mine lol
My honeymoon is over and here’s what I’ve learned. 1. The five link bracelet is amazing but slightly too flashy in my everyday setting. I’m currently seeking the rubber strap for everyday use and will dress it up with the five link when needed. 2. The snowflake hour hand is just amazing for readability and is now possibly my favorite hour hand for a diver. 3. The longer power reserve is appreciated when I pick it up after a few days of non-use am surprised to find it still right on time. 4. T-fit may not be necessary but I find myself adjusting size five or six times a day for that perfect fit. Bottom line I’ve found myself adjusting my other watches with flashy straps etc so they will still get wrist time as this one is so versatile I’m wearing it more and more.
I’m kinda in the same spot with my monochrome. I love the 5 link but need a rubber strap to make it a tad more casual. Trying to source a good strap to set it and forget it
Iv been looking at this and the burgundy both on 3 link and think im slighty more for the red as im worried i may start comparing it to the submariner i used to have. The red is nothing like it tho so i wont be comparing
The monochrome looks phenomenal. Personally, I prefer the BB to the Seamaster, although I do very much like the Seamaster, as well. Ever since I started collecting, Tudor has been a top 2-3 brand for me, that is, until I received a bad example of a brand new Pelagos 39, followed by Tudor’s lack of quality customer service.
The Black Bay as a line is a submariner homage with vintage flair. Between the gilt / fauxtina and use of colors I think this works really nicely as it isn't too close to the sub, but this watch strips away many of those degrees of difference. I think of this as a modern inspired take on a watch that's just a vintage inspired take on a modern watch, i.e. this doesn't really make sense and comes off as a "poor man's rolex" (something I wouldn't say about most of Tudor's other watches) Also, I agree with you it's a bit bland. I think this could appeal to buyers who want a single high quality watch, but as someone who has a decent collection I prefer variety & intrigue over versatility
Je te l'aurai bien acheter mais je suis en France, du coup , c'est mort! Je vais donc acheter Sea Master :) je cherche le meilleur site en Europe , on m'a dit qu'on arrivait à avoir 30% ?
There are many great watches out there today and the Monochrome is one of the best releases in recent times although I think the lollipop seconds hand doesn't quite work with the hour hand snowflake, it was better before in my humble opinion. If I didn't have a dive watch (or more) in my collection it could be right there on my list but like you I already have watches that occupy this space so a purchase in the near term for me is unlikely. My SMP300M, BB58 along with my Pelagos LHD can sleep well. As always many thanks for sharing.
I feel this monochrome BB41 exists solely because the average watch customer cannot just walk into a Rolex dealer and walk out the door with a brand new Submariner. At least the Omega has it’s own identity
I think next year we will see a blue dial and blue bezel. That will be the one to get because the blue is associated more strongly with Tudor. You will never see a blue dial blue bezel submariner.
The SMP is very distinct from the submariner and the tudor and thats why its so appealing because its unique The tudor is a slimmer submariner with a dress (jubilee like bracelet) as the maxi case of the sub does not allow it to have a jubilee (looking like The Rock wearing high heels) If we get the Tudor in the 3 link its basically a less classy submariner which will always leave a taste of frustration Imo, the 5 link is the only option for it and if you dont like it, better move to SMP (in rubber) or sub (oyster) that will fit respectively better than the Tudor Owner of the 5 link tudor and loving it so far
A date only watch that is 13.5mm thick? No thanks. The new bb58 gmt is under 13mm thick and metas certified + 100m water resistance and has a domed sapphire. No reason the tudor shouldn’t be under 12.5mm thick outside of laziness.
@thewatchidiot nice try.......but too dissimilar!! Although as someone who never liked the modern SMP, your latest review has got me intersted in the black dial one.
It's a matter of taste, but apart from the movement, there is nothing attractive about this watch. Longines can offer a level higher quality of workmanship and visual aesthetic, and no less reliable movement for less money.
True, it's literally the only brand where the watches seemed less impressive to me in person; even Seikos look far nicer in real life than in pictures, but not Tudors.
I agree. I still have the BB58 blue from 2020 and don't wear it. I gave my BB58 sliver to my cousin a couple of years ago and don't miss at all. Having said that, one of my treasured watches is my Tudor Sub 75190. Still haven't found a modern Tudor sub that impresses me as much.
Here's a tip...stop buying homage Tudor watches and buy a Rolex Submariner. Then stop buying divers from other brands because you have the best one. You'll be able to move on with your life
I kind of agree. Here's a similar but somewhat opposite approach: For me, after I got my 14050M, I felt liberated to buy other watches that I considered more fun, which is also moving on with my life. :)
@saneepeopleonly that's fair. He needs to stop kidding himself on and tick the Submariner box though. Then he can move on and stop messing about with Tudor
@MylleZ nobody said that Rolex were the pinnacle of watchmaking. I was merely stating that the Tudor knock off of a Submariner is not going to scratch the itch. Better getting the real thing

AMZWATCH's always amazes me how much beauty and precision are added to the parts of watch 99% of people will never see.
I bought mine in June, and I really loved it, but since then, for some reason I think I'm over the hype

I also sold my BB58 after purchasing a Seamaster. Different watches, but if I am gonna wear a dressy diver I prefer the SMP300
Is it as top heavy as your Seamaster professional?
I love the monochrome. I own a shyteload of modern Tudors. Prolly get a 124060 next or Glashutte SeaQ Panorama Date.
The bezel on the Tudor monochrome sounds like a dolphin mating call. Cool party trick
The new GMT clicking sound is the same as the clicks on the safe at Tudor. By design as well. I thought that was a nice touch tbh
BB54 is their best current watch 👍
Great video and yeah I can see why you’re letting go of the Monochrome. It can’t hold a candle to your black SMP 300.
Great video as always. Really can’t blame you for blowing the Tudor away with the arrival of that stunning black dial Seamaster. Kinda hard to beat that Omega!

I don't think your back pack would magnetize your Willard. ISO standard will definitely with stand that level of magnetism
I had an SPB143 (which has the same movement), and that thing got magnetized all the time.

Always Omega >>> Tudor Seamaster is a great diver though I think the the 39mm PO is their Ultimate diver watch.

You have a lot of Tudor haters in your comments 😂 Tough crowd, huh?
Something I’ve come to know is that is those that hardly own any nice watches or those that only buy Rolex crap on almost every other watch brand

Tudor makes a fantastic watch on par with the seamaster. Though I’d go with the seiko SPB453J1
STOP IT😂😂😂😂 TUDOR IS NOWHERE NEAR THE LEVEL OF A OMEGA SEAMASTER 😂😂😂😂
The strap options are off. Three link without rivets, or fitted rubber like a seamaster would be better.
Bringing back mm300? Hehehee

Id of bought this if it had a ceramic bezel
The movement hasn’t changed. It’s just been tested. Can’t help but feel you should just buy a submariner.

The deep sea is the best
Wow! What happened to your voice? Seamaster is too big for wrists smaller than 17" imho. And Tudor is too hyped.
