I don't care what people say, (I've heard people hating on this) I still want it. I've always wanted a new version of the character and I'm glad it's not a Blitzwing repaint.
To anyone with issues with this figure, I highly encourage watching a review of the G1. I know Peaugh has a nice one from a few years back. G1 inheritance is definitely not a valid excuse for everything, but it's hard to see the original in detail and not like this version a bit better as a result. I do kinda wish they could've kept the dual powermaster for different modes gimmick, though.
Christ, the dead black eyes of the bird mode still give me the creeps years later. Lol! The bird head always reminded me of the Skexis from 'The Dark Crystal'. Pity they packaged Knox and Skar seperate from Doubledealer. They could have included them - you are paying leader class price after all.
The removable engine might be a reference to him being a power master, meaning that Knox and Skar his partners turned into his engine to unlock his transformation

Mafia man Veto Thrilling thirties Doubledealer was a recolour of the notoriously bad thrilling thirties Blitzwing mould. For more on that mould I recommend Jobbythehong’s video on it. I was making a joke that now that there’s an Earthrise Doubledealer, everyone will be trying to sell there old Doubledealers on eBay
This figure is the perfect example of the good and bad of Earthrise. It's exactly the same as the original figure but with more modern engineering. That's really cool for those who just want that but to me it means they're way less interesting.
I think the g1 theme is really cool for the wfc trilogy, however i think it’s a good idea for the next stuff after kingdom to be either other old transformers interpretations, or something entirely new

Double dealer is not an autobot or a decepticon he is a mercenary which means he is not on any side. Some other members are Knock,Skar,and Lockdown. Knock and Skar are tapes that can go in his chest. They were originally his powermasters/godmasters in G1
This character's colour scheme is so nice, gonna be good to finally have a blue WFC figure in my collection. Very worried about those legs, my Jetfire had pegs I had to file down or I felt like I was going to snap stuff. Definitely a case of too well-engineered! :')
His abs are sculpted to look like Knok. His power master from his original toy which they also made gen selects versions of. His original toy was an Autobot robot and a decepticon bird with the missile truck being his neutral mode. Knok is his Autobot powermaster and Skar is his decepticon powermaster.

This looks damn near identical to the Doubledealer I had as an 8 year old. I see what they're going for there. I actually still have it complete with the two powermaster engines (Knok and Skar). The original did not have the tape storage feature, as a matter of fact, the chest plate was not attached to the figure and would only be put on when in robot mode. It was made to cover the long plastic folding joint that his head was attached to. The chestplate however could be attached to the back of the missile assembly when in vehicle or beast mode and it could hold a powermaster in engine mode. It didnt make much sense though so I never did that lol. My girlfriend just pre-ordered this newer figure for me and I'm really excited now after seeing this review! Great video!
The Thrilling 30 failed right off the gate when you consider that the context of his Jet(bird) Mode was supposed to be what the Decepticons see 100% of the tine.
He was a GodMaster/powermaster in G1. Knok and Skar were the PM names. He was DoubleClouder in Masterforce. His human name was Clouder and had Cybertron and Destron armor. Thats why he has the compartment. I assume that was your question but if not... Sorry lol.
As for the removable piece on the stomach, my only theory so far is that it looks like the engine of the bird powermaster, who put him into decepticon mode, which was the bird mode, and thus you'd never have seen that engine there in robot (autobot) mode. That's SUPER obscure, though, but then maybe they had an issue getting the mold to fill that far and opted for a 2-piece solution that also has a little Easter egg.
You put the back piece on upside down in vehicle mode, those pads are stabilizers for dispersing kinetic energy from the rocket. Look at construction equipment like backhoes and power line utility trucks with crane bucket lifts.
The removable section on the torso is a nod to the original who was a power master a small figure would plug in so you could transform the doubledealer
I don't know what it is about the earthrise but very little of the figures are actually catching my eye unlike siege did. Like I think some figures (including this one) look decent but none are jumping out at me
I think this should get a remold as Machine Wars Soundwave. Would work great with the chest cassette storage gimmick...Stalker would be another great figure from this mold!
Speaking of the Blitzwing repaint I wonder if we’ll get a new Blitzwing figure hopefully with 3 different faces again to represent his Animated counterpart while still having a G1 accurate body.
Considering how accurate the Earthrise Trilogy is trying to be, I doubt they’ll do the 3-face gimmick. Plus it interfered with the thrilling 30’s head ay. Best to leave that gimmick as a unique trait of the animated character ay.
Just got mine today! Got him for nostalgia because I have the very used g1 version at my mom's 😄 Question though. There is this red square that came tapped to the back of the plastic packaging but I'm not sure what it's used for.
The undue-force knee parts require an imperative running-change improvement to end up sans stress marks! (Neither of merchantable quality nor reflecting an official Hasbro product.)
I'm not too fond of the gaps in the lower region of the figure in particular the thighs, the leader price point can't be justified with these gaps and I hope a 3rd party company makes gap fillers for this figure
I was also thinking he'd go well with TR Sky Shadow, and honestly with POTP Punch/Counterpunch. A shelf of side changers would be fantastic and this guy is a must for such a shelf.
I went to look up his bio a while back and read some story about how he was found, talked into being a Decepticon by the one powermaster, but then later regretted his actions and turned Autobot with the help of the other powermaster.... and now I don't see that anywhere. I know his bio doesn't read like that, but I had thought it was his planned US cartoon storyline or from one of the comics. I'm now thinking it might've been somebody's damn fanfic and I somehow didn't realize. Anyway, glad I've got it right now and that I wasn't the only one confused.

Doubledealer looks great and I will definitely get one. Good to see they have him a wrist swivel. It was rubbish that Sixshot didn't get one and I dont get why Hasbro cheaps out on their leader figures (higher price point whatever 5$^$@%ing scale it is) over the last five years. Like what it costs them a million dollars to put in a wrist swivel? It's just BS when you don't get on on a leader figure, it's a BASIC feature of action figures for like two decades at least.

I went to see this video for one important thing, I saw this on IG, and finally knew the name of the figure. This was my very first expensive transformers (I grew up in the Philippines so yeah, expensive lol) that my mom bought as a reward for finishing 2nd grade as first honors. I used to hate it, but now as an adult, I wish I held on to it and now I want one back again! 😭

The original G1 was modeled after an SS22 launch vehicle and that missile would be angled and about 45ﾟ rake and that is missing from the look of this new figure
Double was a powermaster in G1. That's why you could remove the engine. Maybe HasTak knows about the 3rd party market and knows that some 3rd party company would make a custom powermaster engine for him.
at 13:39 I believe you might, perhaps, be attatching the tailfeather/support struts parts to the back of his vehicle mode... upside down? I suspect this is so because, as you observe, the feathers part only folds one way and not one that would let it go up against the back of the vehicle mode.. Also the wider parts of the support struts are probably the feet, and so should be pointing down, no? Then again, I see on the underside there's some tabs that Might conflict with the head above if its turned over so maybe that really is how it should be mounted
Watched your video when you first put it out! Watching it again as I just got my figure in today I paid $42 from Amazon and I have to say that overall I am very disappointed with the quality of this figure! Total crap quality. Leg came off mushroom peg with very little pressure took me 10 frustrating minutes to get it back on. Legs are super loose in all their joints and the arms suffer the same issues. Highly disappointing! Won’t transformer it into it’s two alternate modes as I am afraid to break the figure. Hasbro/ Takara could have done better. This figure looks great in all forms such a shame. Anyone else having these issues with this figure?
A little disappointed he doesn’t have the Mercenary insignias that he does in the show. I mean the symbol changing is a cool feature, toy wise, but mercenaries don’t dawn allegiance colors, regardless who pays them. They’re always their own agents
Voyager sized figures with Leader class prices are not my "cup of tea". The last Leader class figure that I've purchased was SIEGE Ultra Magnus. I will say that this review was far better than Ton Ton's. But the blocky Bird mode and the stocky Bot mode with hollow legs still aren't worth $50 unless you're a core Double Dealer fan I guess. Call me when it's on clearance for 50% off otherwise I'll just stick with the T30 version.
I passed on this dude kinda cool but kinda half unfinished looking in the leg area. Ill just be happy to see sunstreaker hit the shelf at Walmart which they don't have yet are supposed to. So sick of hasbro at this point and almost only gonna buy 3rd party here on out
Also I would add that the original G1 figure was a triple changer a headmaster but he was also a spy he could change from autobot to decepticon and back again this figure is missing that part of the original character

You can remove the engine block and attach it to Knok and Skar's flip out 5cm peg to replicate the powermaster engines.

It’s the character choices. The movie characters and the 84/85 bots are the best imo.
on the truck mode try turning the extra bit upside down,it can cover the head and over all make the truck more believable

looks like the black clip on the missile may connect to the top of the tank of Overlord or Sky Shadow
First change right off the bat, on the G1 figure the missile attached under the belly of bird mode.

This was my very first expensive transformers (I grew up in the Philippines so yeah, expensive lol) that my mom bought as a reward for finishing 2nd grade as first honors. I used to hate it, but now as an adult, I wish I held on to it and now I want one back again! 😭

I flipped the back piece. Folds up over the head and the legs go out 90 degrees for the hydraulic stability when launching the rocket

No he's not. He was never marketed as a Horrorcon, he was never called a Horrorcon in any form of fiction, Apeface and Snapdragon are a generic ape and t-rex, not Godzilla and King Kong... why do people make things up and try to pass them off as fact, man?

The original G1 was modeled after an SS22 launch vehicle and that missile would be angled and about 45ﾟ rake and that is missing from the look of this new figure
Look forward to combining Doubledealer with Airwave that is coming.
It's part of the motor master gimmick. It looks just like part of the motor that u insert on the g1 figure.

Double was a powermaster in G1. That's why you could remove the engine.
Maybe HasTak knows about the 3rd party market and knows that some 3rd party company would make a custom powermaster engine for him.

at 13:39 I believe you might, perhaps, be attatching the tailfeather/support struts parts to the back of his vehicle mode... upside down? I suspect this is so because, as you observe, the feathers part only folds one way and not one that would let it go up against the back of the vehicle mode.. Also the wider parts of the support struts are probably the feet, and so should be pointing down, no?
Then again, I see on the underside there's some tabs that Might conflict with the head above if its turned over so maybe that really is how it should be mounted
Watched your video when you first put it out! Watching it again as I just got my figure in today I paid $42 from Amazon and I have to say that overall I am very disappointed with the quality of this figure! Total crap quality. Leg came off mushroom peg with very little pressure took me 10 frustrating minutes to get it back on. Legs are super loose in all their joints and the arms suffer the same issues. Highly disappointing! Won’t transformer it into it’s two alternate modes as I am afraid to break the figure. Hasbro/ Takara could have done better. This figure looks great in all forms such a shame. Anyone else having these issues with this figure?

A little disappointed he doesn’t have the Mercenary insignias that he does in the show. I mean the symbol changing is a cool feature, toy wise, but mercenaries don’t dawn allegiance colors, regardless who pays them. They’re always their own agents

Voyager sized figures with Leader class prices are not my "cup of tea". The last Leader class figure that I've purchased was SIEGE Ultra Magnus. I will say that this review was far better than Ton Ton's. But the blocky Bird mode and the stocky Bot mode with hollow legs still aren't worth $50 unless you're a core Double Dealer fan I guess. Call me when it's on clearance for 50% off otherwise I'll just stick with the T30 version.

I passed on this dude kinda cool but kinda half unfinished looking in the leg area. Ill just be happy to see sunstreaker hit the shelf at Walmart which they don't have yet are supposed to. So sick of hasbro at this point and almost only gonna buy 3rd party here on out
Looks like I’ll just never mess with bird mode. And just use robot and truck/base mode
Also I would add that the original G1 figure was a triple changer a headmaster but he was also a spy he could change from autobot to decepticon and back again this figure is missing that part of the original character
