A Much Needed Improvement To A Very Dated Toy | Studio Series Galvatron Review #transformers - Развлечения
My favourite bit in AOE is when he said "It's galving time" and then galved all over those guys.
Yeah and the movie made galvillion dollars which was shocking
It's Galvin' time!
😑
It's morbin time
@@TFN_Araque genuinely my reaction too lol the morbin time meme has run its course
I still feel like Galvatron's transformation in the film still felt lazy. I would've wanted him and the KSI drones to transform like all transformers.
The whole point that they weren’t real Transformers though. So I get what they were trying to do. The sound for it is amazing but the execution of the cube like transformation just looks really bad and cheap.
This whole version of galvatron was lazy
More complex than you thin
@@nightmarelyoko I think its badass
*Still better than G1*
This is an example of something you appreciate for the sheer genuine effort against impossible odds. Like....by its very design, no take on it is going to be any level of undeniably objectively good, especially for the more affordable mainline official figures.
But for all this thing's flaws, you can tell they tried their absolute damnest, and it stumbles, but it doesn't fall flat on its overdetailed face...or into a mess of a million cubes.
On that alone, it deserves massive respect.
Since I'm not that big into the character, I'm not in a hurry to get this. But he's charming enough to still want down the line, coz that's how respectable he is.
How has Nero not aged well? It’s an amazing figure.
Yeah pretty sure he said that out his ass. First off the figure hasn't even been out for a year yet, secondly there's next to no reported breakage or tollerance issues.
Personal bias from him. That's why.
@@NexusProductions-rz1sv Awww about that the figures has break and also has some tolerance issues
That caught my attention too, I think the Studio Series Galvatron is a good figure, perhaps aimed at a different market segment than Unique Toys R-04 Nero (Galvatron). I think the original Hasbro offering is well deserved of a spot in one's collection for those that like the live action figures but there is no comparison with the 3rd party offering from Unique Toys, good video review, appreciate the effort.
@@devilbringer1102 own it, transformed it several times. No tolerance or QC issues or breakages during transformation. It’s well designed.
I love how BumbleBee just went “What was that?” Instead of continuing to shoot at Galvatron.
Pro tip: Use the "fiddly" nature of the back to push the head farther forward for "looking down" poses!
Ok but that "I am Galvatron" edit into the song at the beginning was smooth
I understand the issues people have with the proportions by I mean.... This is fuckin bangin, especially for CHUG
I don’t have any issues with the lack of silver (especially since I was “brave enough” to colour him with a silver sharpie. Yes, it makes him look better but it also increases the chance of him collecting dust on the shelves).
Easily one of the more impressive engineering they have done in Studio Series.
I freaking love this figure. Much more than I thought I would. I didn't like the character much in the movie but this is a great figure with a really fun transformation and quite good posability. I've already custom painted mine!
This might just be me, but I think his transformation, as well as the transformations for the KSI drones, fits for what they are in the story: lazy, mass-produced products. The transformations feel like something that was decided on in a boardroom by a table full of corporate executives in an attempt to make something that looked "futuristic" and "advanced". This isn't to say I don't like any of the designs themselves, but I think the film's style of transformation for them fits given the context of what they're meant to be.
Congratulations, YOU GET THE POINT!
You have ANY idea how many people completely miss the fact that they outright say why they make them transform like that, and then go on to bitch about the transformium transformations not looking like the natural transformations.
That's a cool idea, but they shouldn't have intentionally made the transformations bad to make that point. They could've done it in so many better ways than just cubes, that also made toys nearly impossible to make.
@@ThyBigCheddarthey're not bad. But yeah the toys had it rough. Poor galvatron
why do people say the cannon is too small, THATS EXACTLY HOW IT WAS IN THE MOVIE
Ye but big gun go boom 😢
It was massive in the film
I really wanna get this, I'm gonna try my hand at designing new feet who maybe unfold once more to look like the back is just kibbly in a "G1 style Optimus always have truck backs that are thicker" kinda way, just them unfolding into something more squareish.
But yeah, in this case I agree, this should've been a leader, just make him a smidge taller, add maybe the blades, and effects parts that looks like a swish of cubes for transformation effects and add more paint, specially more gold and blue, he looks too monochromatic.
But overall, I'm really surprised by the engineering at display here.
I never really thought that the ksi drones transformation as lazy. I mean looking at the animation in a technical way it is harder to do their morph(transformation) compaired to actual "transformers" which is not really shown, rather they only show some parts shifting then the rest of the transformation happens off cam. Another is that the inuniverse explanation is that we humans like effeciency, by having our car robots morph is more effiencient and easier to code rather than having complicated transformation sequence.
Yeah and it's not like the car went directly to blob that then went directly to robot, the various parts of the vehicles came off layer by layer starting with the body panels and ending with the frame, with each section becoming a different blob, which then recongfigured into the robot's frame, mechanics, body layout, and armor. You have to appreciate detail like that.
The problem was it really hindered the toyline, which is what these movies are made for, let's be honest.
AoE had a very bad toyline. Everything was simplified with a few exceptions; and having a transformation sequence where the character shatters into millions of Rubik's Cubes didn't help.
What I prefer about the original figure is that it’s less blocky but the kibble is removable but this figure is a major upgrade
That's not how weapon storage works. The figure is engineered first, someones fiddles with the test model and acessories, and if space is found to fit them there are tweaks made to put them there be it simple tabs and pegs, or even folding. The only time accessory storage is engineered with the figure is when the accessory becomes a part of one of the modes because then the figure needs to be designed around it. Example for post work fitting: 07 Deluxe Bumblebee. Example for designed in fitting: Classics Voyager Optimus.
You can even notice it on this figure! The missiles store in a compartment that would be empty regardless of putting the missiles in there!
I am super excited for this guy, I think he looks fantastic. A leader would have been nice I suppose, but this is amazing nonetheless. I love it when Studio Series improves on the old figures.
Imagine Lego creating the bayverse galvatron, especially for the transformation
I really dig this transformation and I like how positioning them just right you can store both accessories in the chest in robot mode
I picked up this figure about a week ago and I really enjoy just holding him. I know that most people hate this design from the movie( with lockdown being much more loved) but I enjoy his ss figure.
Awesome! Not a fan of the huge price hike, but just means that I have to be extra discerning in which figures I buy. I'm sure there'll be an upgrade kit to fix this guy's issues, or at least most of them.
“We shall meet again prime, for I am reborn”
I put the side panels tabs from vehicle mode behind the wheels in robot mode in order to stop the foot from transforming back. you still get some wiggle for articulation
5:35, hopefully some third party companies come up with upgrade kits for this
We ain't gonna talk about how fire that intro was? Like damn that was smooth
Hear me out here.
SS Galvatron should of been a Parts former.
Would help the truck modes kibble, would be accurate to the source material, and would be clever.
Well I do have an issue with the price. The fact it has a $30 budget but costs nearly 50 euro over here.
Thanks, Hasbro.
Though, uh, what do you mean by Nero not ageing well? Just asking because I'm only getting into third-party stuff now.
The joints not holding up over time and the limbs becoming floppy
@@thomasmelder7538 And that's standard for many third-party figures, is it? I recently got TE-01b and I'm considering picking up that Challenger re-issue.
Yes I have an issue too with the prise in my country and that i unfair fo us
@@Pamjamelia some copys may be perfect or some could be loose and for most 3rd party companies they don't really have quality control on products and it sucks
@@thomasmelder7538 Ah, makes sense.
I said I got into 3P recently, and my first purchase was TE-01b and holy crap, the shoulder buttons and how much I had to fix those tabs. And a piece broke off that I was able to fit back on. It was a nightmare. Buuuuuuut after the fixes I fell in love with transforming it. I guess it explains why they're cheaper than official MP products, but even then I doubt HasTak's QC is really that much better with how many official figures I've bought with joint tolerance issues all over the place.
I agree with the notion that this should've been a leader figure. While the $55 price tag has made it hard for me to justify buying leader figures now, I would've gladly paid that for this guy. The extra budget could've gone a lone way to help hide the feet more and made the cannon, which is laughably small, a little bigger. Here's to hoping DNA Design has something up their sleeves with an upgrade kit for this guy.
I already know that DNA Design would make an upgrade kit for the weapons an the feet for Galvatron in the next few more months or weeks if they plan to do it
“Altmode first.” *looks at SS Optimus
Some folks don't seem to like the size of the robot mode. I get it, but, it's actually pretty accurate considering that AoE Galvatron (and TLK Megatron) is supposed to be only 30' compared to the 35' of 2007/RotF/DotM Megatron. The downside of this is that we're gonna need a new mold for the AoE/TLK Knight Optimus to properly scale (that version is also 30' instead of the 28' of 2007/RotF/DotM Optimus)...and given how both SS90 AoE Galvatron & SS05/32/44 Optimus turned out, *I don't trust Hasbro's designers & engineers to NOT screw it up again*.
Plus galvatron is just a truck while Megatron 1-3 was a giant jet, a giant tank/"jet", and then a truck and trailer
1-3 Optimus was 28', he became taller when he scanned the Western Star truck as that truck is noticably larger in the sleeper cab section than the Peterbilt 395. 4-5 Optimus should be the same height as Galvatron and 5 Megatron.
What's wrong with those primes you mentioned?
"You have no soul!"
"That is why I have no fear!"
This figure makes me hate how early lockdown released.. with more studio series practice, he could’ve been able to pull off what Galvatron and dino did with their inside-out conversions.
They've said in the past that redoing or re-releasing old figures isn't out of the question. They've done it as of late with Grindor being a better version of the mold than the OG Blackout and is still a cheap figure despite being a year old at this point, as well as the new Autobot 5 pack re-releasing those figures, some of which (Prime and Ironhide) have been scalped to hell so people have another chance to get them.
Man a wekk ago I would have told you to shut up, but after seeing Hot Rod you might be on to something.
@@NexusProductions-rz1sv oh thanks-
@@chadderbug7587cheap?! Grindor is €90!!! How Is that cheap
I really hate how people are comparing this with UT as if they have the same price.
What's really stupid is UT also has hinges all over it, slightly off proportions, and kibble on the truck bed. But it gets away with all of that, while the retail figure 1/5 the price gets shit on for being 1/3 as good.
Like NO! It should be the REVERSE of that! 3P MP figures are more expensive, and thus should be held to more scrutiny. This is a retail voyager performing black magic. And what's really fucked here is that this is the same people praising BBM Soundwave which barely even fucking transforms!
@@NexusProductions-rz1sv Man spitting facts here
3:06 bumblebee like: hold up. Something ain't right.
I wanted this one but at the same time, there was the Legacy Galvatron for only around 20 dollars more at the same store, and I just love that purple more.
My guy really said NERO hasn't aged well.
Nero is arguably the BEST post DoTM Toy to have come out alongside Dragoon/TLK Megatron. By far among the greatest works of engineering UT has put out.
I dont have it, i want it, it looks like possibly the greatest transformer ive ever seen.
1:54 funny I'm playing with that ASTRO train while watching this
More paint (Silvers and Blues), bigger cannon, arm blades, and this could be more complete.
One thing I don’t like is that they removed the plastic window thing from the box and my box came in damaged
$30? I paid £38 which is over $40!! That is retail price at a toy store in the UK.
Just got this figure and I’m loving it. I was probably one of the only people to like the design of galavtron. I will agree the arms may be a little small but it still looks way better than the original.
Galvatron looks amazing! Hope i can get a chance to buy him
Fun fact: when galvatron first transforms it actually makes the original transforming sound
Actually it's his third transformation that does it
I hope we get a tlk and aoe prime and the other autobots, despite all the hate of the movies, they had the best CGI and the best design imo especially tlk. Like getting a crosshairs and hound would be awesome
Crosshairs was recently confirmed.
Amendment to my previous reply*
Croasshairs was recently revealed.
I do 100 percent agree that he should have been a leader class figure and give him more accessories like the rist blades and a seed. Also what that red figure you had never seen that one before
It's the JD knight toy.
You'd pay an additional $30 for just a seed and larger arm blades?
@@NexusProductions-rz1sv well at the time I thought he would be a leader class figure since we got him as a voyager but the wrist blades should be on there same woth missiles but I would have like to see if he got the seed since the whole point of age of extinction was that lockdown hunting autobots and galvatron wanting an army to conquer earth as a decepticon home but an extra 30 dollars for him being a leader sounds like shit he should 40 bucks since he didn't do shit in the movie also sorry this long to read.
@@spartanimus621his actions cause the whole plot to happen
It's technically a leader class because for some reason the transformers price became even more expensive 😕 voyagers cost 45$ now 😐
I paid like 37 dollars shipped to me off amazon?
@@bingbong6988 how 😐
Inflation be damned
@@hasefharris357 exactly
i cant believe i found Galvatron at all!!! i got him at Target last week or 2!!!
They could probably do a heavy retool of this into an AOE optimus
The SS and old AoE are equally good in my opinion. New one have a proper and interesting transformation, but his square chest and robo-feet in vehicle mode kinda ruin the look. The old one have a "perfect" bot mode, if you conveniently ignore the giant backpack due to the shameful shellforming. Both worth owning.
I just grabbed one at Walmart today because my movie 1 and movie 3 collections are done and now im addicted.
I really, really like him.
Bad, bad movie. Very fun toy.
It's a great movie what are you on about
Galvatron had one of the best movie designs, it's a shame they can't make a right toy for him.
Didn't they release a silver Galvatron for aoe, that was really bad i thought?
I have the original AOE Galvatron toy although most of the truck mode was a backpack I used my imagination to think it’s a jet pack because the exhausts smoke stacks were pointing down
Great video! While the design of galvatron is questionable I think this figure is definitely one of the highlights of this wave. I do think this figure isn't the best looker, it's still pretty good
Design is pretty cool
Yes, his torso looks box like, but I don't give a damn. This looks really nice to look at, and the transformation is quite cool.
How to transform galvatron: put it through a shredder and glue all the pieces back together. 😂
Great figure… It’s time they do a another take on Knight Optimus. And redo Lockdown who could be much better.
well, now I will probably be getting this and the SS87 bumblebee on amazon because I don't want to wait for the stocks to go up in november for galvatron and january for bee in Romania
I've seen ss prime (the best one, without the trailer) going for 250$ on ebay and I wanted to minecraft endgame myself
Italy doesn't get much stuff, especially in backwater towns like mine and it hurts
Imagine you had to take the figure apart like Lego and than build the truck with the pieces
I will buy this. Definitely. Is not perfect, of course, is not a mpm figure (Nero) but it's still good for me.
His cannon isn't small its average sized, it must have a great personality too.
The figure is good for what it is. I can't believe there's people hating on this guy just because he isn't superior to Unique Toys Nero.
Unique Toys Nero also costs like what, 10 times this guy?
If this was a Masterpiece version it would be one thing but it's Studio Series.
Looks dope
I'm not a fan of this design, nor this version of the character in general, but I still want this figure, I don't know why
Could just be that it looks fun to mess with, or the engineering is impressive for what they were given to work with. You don't need character affinity to want to play with a toy, after all!
@@Pamjamelia True I got the Trans Craft Cliffjumper. Don't like how little of the car mode is actually in the design and how most of it is flat smooth panels that can't even really be interpreted as vehicle parts, and the alt mode is pretty agregious looking, but the transformation is fairly impressive.
Wait, then I got La Hire and Challenger and realized that these kinds of designs can be done without faux parts and bad alt modes... but for the few months I didn't he was pretty cool.
Can you store the blaster in the chest cavity lilt the missiles not tabbed in just sitting there loose
Weapons storage is easy. It could have just had a peg anywhere on the back nobody would have complained but now that the feet are this way a lot of people aren't going to get the figure probably. Not me though I still need a good Galvatron
I still really like the 2014 version in spite of its flaws but I know a lot of people don't and will be happy to get this new figure. It's weird that they couldn't engineer the feet properly and have a peg somewhere else like you said since the majority of studio series figures have actually been really impressive with their designs
Also is your name quoting Thor The Dark World because if so, respect
@@Tom-oz7wk OK I'm fucking tired of this. Even fucking Nero had a bit of kibble sticking out on the truck bed but people excused it because of the design and how much they already did with the engineering. How does this figure of the exact same design for 1/5 of the price with only a bit more kibble on the back get so much fucking hate!? This figure literally has the engineering for this kind of design that everyone has been BEGGING Hasbro for since the 3P AOE lockdown came out like 5 years ago. This figure has the CLEANEST transformation of damn near any movie figure, even cleaner than SS38 which people praise like the second coming, AND IT HAD A BLOCKIER TORSO THAN THIS, AND IT HAD THE WRONG VEHICLE MODE ENTIRELY!
If you're such a damn smart guy then you tell me exactly how the feet would fold away, without adding any more parts as this is already one of the most complex voyagers to exist. This has nearly 3x the moving parts of ER Optimus, both the figure AND trailer, which means this figure actually COST Hasbro money to make.
@@NexusProductions-rz1sv Okay dude, calm down. For one thing, you need to watch your language. For another, you need to learn what an opinion is and stop trying to tear people apart for having one. Once you've done that and chill out a bit, then we'll talk
Also, your username indicates you're a content creator and using that kind of language is not gonna do your channel any favours
@@NexusProductions-rz1sv It's because of the fact that the feet stick out WAY more than the kibble on nero. Not saying that that was avoidable though, this was the best they could do in a small voyager toy compared to a big mpm one.
@@revampedrenegotiate Not even, but THANK YOU for acknowledging what's already here.
His face is easy to remove… I accidentally did on my copy, but since hasbro is ditching the plastic windows on packaging, some in store galvatron’s may have their faces stolen
"give me your face"
Prime is at it again damnit
If he had the seed, he would've shoved it way up there...
MORTY
Galvatron looks like he should be motormaster
Remove the GeeWunner notion of every character having to be the exact same thing, and be exclusive in what they do across continuities. Motormaster should not be the only Decepticon truck.
@@NexusProductions-rz1sv If we shouldn't rely on G1 then why did they use an iconic G1 name on an unrelated character and then remove it immediately after. Either don't use a G1 character, or use the right one.
it "kinda" transforms, its still a panel former, but it turns inside out rather than just having the ENTIRE altmode on the back, I want to see how they try AOE prime, cause the only good version of that truck and bot mode is the 3P one, and that thing sucks
The tlk voyager wasn't too bad for prime. The arms were a nuisance but that's about all
Where did the red truck come from? Is that third-party?
For posing this galvatron you should do the Ion Prime titan termination pose except the laser is coming from Galvatron's chest

Plz give wave 2 legacy review, me and my bro don't have any of wave 2 yet and wanna know what to skip
All I have so far is Jhiaxus (who is great btw). Wave 2 doesn't release in Canada for another month or so
Bro, I'm sorry, but the thumbnail just looks like Galvatron is shitting on his altmode.
It made me click so I guess it works lmfao
"Not a lot of people don't display"... is a terrible excuse for when figures are designed terrible. I do hope someone like DNA Designs comes up with some upgrade.
I mean true but this figure isn't designed terrible. ER Ratchet is terrible, it's only doing about half the things right but theres so much wrong that they frankly shouldn't have bothered with anything. This however is almost entirely right and only has one major issue.
Even if I was into this design this figure looks awkward to me. His torso is too squared off. I don’t really collect Bay studio series anyway. Glad everyone else is happy with this
I kinda wanted it
really don't see why they didn't make the feet jus split and flatten out into a fifth wheel plate in trucc mode? it'd be a simple solution and make it more accurate
Considering ER Optimus was "stretching the budget" with less than half the moving parts this figure has, and at leader class no less, then it's a miracle this even does so much apparently.
@@NexusProductions-rz1svyou'd think hasbro would give them all they need budget wise
What's his name again?
The price of modern voyagers are MORE expensive then leaders a years ago, Thats not the issue
For some reason i thought that galvatron was shitting in the thumbnail i dont know why lol
Man I actually prefer the look of the old one overall but this functions better and I'm biased against both cause I don't like the design to begin with
He's one of the best movie designs
i believe this figure is the best ss figure they've released in a long time
I know i am very late but galvatron’s feets are kinda bulky right?
Galvatron is just as the same size as Optimus so making him leader class to make him a bit taller will make the height inaccurate
But it would give the illusion of it being as good as it could be, which is what people are really paying that extra deluxe worth for.
"WhAt WAs thAt?"
"It coulda been done if it was a leader class budget" dude... buddy... come on. You've seen all the leader priced voyagers, they don't get any extra shit. They're made as voyagers first, then slapped in a leader box with a couple extra accessories. It's not even a conspiracy, we know exactly how Hasbro would have done it because they've done it before TWICE! ER Optimus. Every single damn person says it's a leader because it's more complex than a voyager (Blatantly wrong), has better plastic (Hillariously wrong), more paint (A literal flat out lie when compared to the siege figure), and more polish (Half the truck doesn't even tab together). And then the released it as a voyager in the netflix line and the literal only difference was they changed the grey plastic sprue to a navy blue colour. Same amount of paint apps, exact same figure. Then ER Starscream, slapped in a leader box, given 2 additional paint apps while 2 were removed, retooled the hands so now it only has 6 fewer points of articulation than 8 from the Siege Starscream, gave it the coronation gear, and a chair that has absolutely no relevance to him and called it a day. And while that may seem a lot for starscream, are you really going to tell me that all that stuff crammed down somehow into ER Optimus? Or, the far more likely situation, they did that to make it seem like they actually do cram all that stuff into leader priced voyagers. If you think option B is more likely then congrats, you have a functioning brain.
Point is this in a leader box is proven to be exactly the same. They'd slap in some meaningless extra plastic that cost them 2 cents to make and then shills like you would push it to be commander class.
Sure, for generations… but have you ever SEEN an SS leader class? I don’t think any of them are repackaged voyagers.
@@jaydenpatterson5165 SS does barely better. Actually they prove my point more. SS 44, one additional paint app, and just barely a deluxe worth of plastic in the trailer and weapons. Then Shockwave who is a remold of voyager Megatron who has a less complex transformation but weighs a bit more due to the rubber and is ultimately dissapointing.

The mid transformation state is considered another mode. It was programmed in to make the KSI transformers flashier than the real Transformers, and it also acts as a mid state to allow cleaner transformations which can be stacked repeatedly.
