Honestly,the studio series toyline is a huge improvement over the original movie toylines,and optimus is a great exemple,along with ss aoe galvatron(even tho,some rotf,dotm and hunt for the decepticons still unique),i think this toy is a mini mpm,because of the accurate paintjob and design,i do wish if we can get a old bayverse toys with today's accuracy and engineering(like dotm skyhammer,rotf bludgeon and hunt for the decepticons seaspray and tomahawk and 2007 longarm and overcast etc.....)
Hot take, I think the 05 mold is better than the others. I think proportionally it looks cooler. I enjoy the transformation more. I also love the original colors for 05. The super dark colors I think look very cool and unique. This premium one does looks pretty damn good, may have to pick it up.
i had this, left this on my desk for 5 MINUTES, and my cousin got hold of it and broke the chest and arm piece. I hate my cousin.
No amount of paint can make this toy look good, they should of use the studio series 32 mold instead
For me, battle blades mold still is the best bayverse optimus voyager
while the retool they released for this studio series prime looks fantastic, I still dont hear enough people commending this figure as much as it deserves, its not perfect and has some issues, but it is far from a bad prime movie figure
I love reminiscing on the earlier SS figures, feels like they released so long ago and kinda fell by the wayside, were forgotten. Especially this Optimus, who was replaced by the 32 mold.
always really really preferred this to 32 even though I don't know why. Always planned on picking it up but these early studio series figures man...they've been scalped to absolute shit
What’s sad is that a lot of the early studio series and Netflix like prime figures got gimped by that silly safety rule which shortened their smokestacks, which makes little sense since apparently SS38 and every prime onward didn’t get that memo since their smoke stacks are huge. Heck even the re issue of the G1 prime of 2018 got the tall smokestacks back so really SS05, SS32, and earthrise prime deserved to have longer smoke stacks right from the start.
I really wished they threw this guy with the 15th anniversary pack as Jazz seems to be the one who has that premium finish
it was never a bad mold to even begin with, it was always good and this new paint job proves it

Oh god this Optimus looks gorgeous. I've always wanted a bayverse Optimus but it had to be one from the first three movies as I'm not a fan of his robot mode from the last two movies. Definitely gonna get this guy sometime.
I have the star leader take of this figure, he comes with multiple faces and has die cast parts. For the price can't beat it, but that repaint is really sweet too
This is why I always get figures with a good mold, since I know I can bring out the awesome details with paint myself! Also, just FYI this figure is sold out on hobby genki so either they had very little stock or your promo code made everyone go there immediately!

Dayum this is actually my Optimus Prime figure rn. First Optimus Prime figure that I bought in fact.
bayverse optimus is my favourite version of the character after the unicron triolgy and animated and g1 optimus's,he's really badass and always gives me a chills,and also has a great and unique design&color scheme,especially the blue flames,i think optimus should always have flames on his paintjob like bayverse prime and g2 laser prime,and its funny how back in 2008,everyone sent a death threats to bay just because of the flames on optimus's paintjob
