A rotary legend spending a few important minutes of his DCS life, showing the rest of us how to be succeed with whirliebirds. I wish all community mods were this amazingly detailed! Thank you Mav!! Top gun and volleyball!!
Thanks. As an old Army crew chief, I love this module. The sound is spot on. I have just about 600 hours on her as CC and TI ( inspector ). My all time fav helo
If I’m being honest, I don’t play DCS and don’t even have a computer to do so if I wanted to, but this video is just oddly satisfying to me and just really cool!
Excellent video Mav, thank you. FYI, The UH60L doesn't need power pedal on lifting. She seems to have the same system as the Apache, when the weight comes off the wheels, heading hold kicks in. I'm not sure which version I'm using but she doesn't need any pedal on lifting or in the hover.
I don't have decent pedals so I assigned pedals to a rotary on the X56 throttle, adjusted a slight amount of power pedal and was having fun with the UH60. Wish I did that during the Apache trial, had trouble with that. Also wish the littlebird had trim functions, what a nippy wee c**t to fly.
@@104thMaverick I checked, I have no assist on. Casmo told me that weight off wheels brings in heading hold, unless you hold the SAS interrupt button, in which case, it's manual all the way. It seems to be the same in the Blackhawk :)
@@104thMaverick I just checked with the devs on the Blackhawk discord, yes, she does have heading hold on lift unless you interrupt (like the Apache). She also has turn coordination above 60kts, oooh fancy! (Though I've found she needs some help with turn coord at any speed. Awesome mod though :)
@@phil73805 Yes however you still need left pedal when coming off the ground because as you said, its only active once WOW is off AND is only active when yaw rate is below a certain percent so if you allow it to turn on lift off it will continue to until you correct it. However I don't know how its modeled in game so it may be a mute point but I do fly the Mike variant and that has been my experience

You might have some kind of assist on mate as the Apache and Blackhawk definitely need power pedal to get airborne brother

2:50 And _that's_ where they'd employ a Kalman filter!
brooooo..what a legend
Good stuff! where's the navigation tutorial?
ChatGPT start the blackhawk and take me to finish our enemies, then we need to stop in a Mcdonalds
Great video, thank you!
My pleasure!
How do I get the input control screen up? RCTL + Enter doesn't seem to bring it up. Searched through the controls menu but unsure what its called
I think it’s left control and enter in the BH mate
@@104thMaverick was right shift and entry. Didn't notice the bh specific bind. Thanks!
Thanks, it was very helpful, i bought one last week and couldn't figure how to start the APU, I'm definitely ready to bring democracy in middle east 😂
love the video, do you have your DCS graphics settings linked anywhere?
I don’t mate no but if you contact me on discord (link on my twitch) I’ll send you them
When will DCS or Eagle release the Blackhawk?
Chinook is next, no word yet on the Blackhawk
is your outro actually "I am NOT Scott Manley"?!?!?! BECAUSE YOU 100% SOUND LIKE HIM OMMGGGGG
I’m honestly not him 🤣
Can anyone tell this DCS noob (without VR) how to slew the camera view to be able to more easily see the upper and lower consoles? Thanks!
You can use your mouse to look around mate if you press LAlt + C
@@104thMaverick Omg thank you so much. I was using keys like a doofus, knew there had to be a better way but couldn't find it. Thank you!
shame the FM radio doesn't get Forth2 eh ;)
Filmed in BusterVision™
You’ll be hearing from my legal team 🤣
@@104thMaverick they have me on speed dial already 😆
Batts, GENs, APU…
Send it!
Taliban take notes😂😂😂😂😂😅😊
Meanwhile taliban pilots watching😂😂
it feels more like Arma in flight, not DCS.
What did you expect a full fidelity flight model from a mod that you get for free???? C’mon son 🤦♂️
@@104thMaverick I am just not a fan of idea to make Arma from DCS. and not a fan of idea to make DCS from Arma.
