AGREED!! Never seen something so in depth with a blackhawk!
BRING IT ON.!
Yessssssss
AMEN!!
As an Army veteran and Blackhawk mechanic/crew chief I want to see everything you do to a machine I knew inside and out a long time ago. Keep up the great videos.
The only thing cooler than buying a Blackhawk is hearing your story on how you started life as a poor kid with not much to your name, and forged your own path through life, to being able to buy your own Blackhawk. Hugely inspirational. Gratz man, I’m stoked for you.
Wow that's incredible

Super
Amazing
Fantastic
Nice video
Heavy D, PLEASE show us EVERYTHING from the start of the inspection process to the refurbishing and everything in between! It will be incredible to see something like this because NOBODY in the Civilian world has done this and shown a step by step in depth detailed video documenting buying, restoring then flying a BlackHawk Military Helicopter. It is very impressive to see you fufill your personal dreams! This has to be the most expensive purchase you have ever made. I have read that just the maintainece on a BlackHawk runs over $800,000.00 anually or $3,000-$5,000 per flight hour. I'm sure you will have a contest to guess how much it cost to purchase so I am going to say $3,500,000.00 to purchase and another $1,000,000.00 to get it fully restored.
Yeah it's really cool when you watch something change especially if it's a few years old the engine work has to be just crazy I was an aircraft industry for a few years God bless

He won't do that for months if not years... he is only controlling the flaps while the actual pilot controls throttle and aux
I was stationed at Kirtland AFB and we had Ch-53 and MH-53s I could not imagine in the 1980s what they would cost per hour!
Served as a HH-60 Pave Hawk maintainer in the Air Force. This is insanity lol. It’s not just “making” it serviceable to fly, it has to be continuously inspected to keep it that way. I know what that inspection process entails and that’s a lot money. 🤙🏽 cool video
Congrats man! This is so interesting and I want to see it all! My Army veteran hubby will be excited to see the military vehicles part of this video. He drove many during his time in Iraq from 2000-2004. Can't wait to see your training, the rebuild, and future missions to help others! I want to get a Black Hawk fuselage that's intact panel/windows/doors wise but don't need the gages etc. I want to make a custom street legal truck out of it like Speedycop did with a Kiowa. Where do I look?
so you work on the Jayhawk. . . HH-60 (now MH-60 as it was re designated) Hell of a rescue heli. . . freaking awesome for search and rescue, must say that being able to work on a bird that helps save lives is one hell of a job keep up the excellent work and thank you for all you have done.
I was a black hawk mechanic and crew chief in the army for 5 years. And this is absolutely awesome man. Was so glad to hear that your having a pm1 and 2 done. That thing is going to be so solid man. That capability of that bird is incredible. You are going to have the time of your life. Especially with a combat experienced pilot to show you the limits. Hopefully he was an mtp. That would be just that much more knowledge on the aircraft.
You may be of interest to help on maintaining it- Cheers
I was stationed onboard the USS ESSEX LHD-2 1994-1998 amphibious ship with CH-46’s, CH-53’s, Cobras and harriers….

Congratulations on achieving your life long goal of owning a ex military Blackhawk. I would like to see more of the technical maintenance side in future videos please. Although my passion is military vehicles I find this is next level, just like to say thanks for all that you and your team do. Cheers from NZ
Hey HeavyD, I'll throw my hat in the ring! I am one of the originals, a 67T Tactical Transport Helicopter Repairer. 3k hours as a Crewchief and just shy of 30 years of service. I've got my A&P and have spent a few years running the Quality Control shop. Heck, I am a school trained crewmember instructor, I just might be able to turn Diesel Dave into a crewchief🤣
In all seriousness though. With the things that I imagine you want to do with this aircraft, please squeeze every little bit of information you can put of your 60 driver buddy. External loads and unimproved landing sites can be very unforgiving. Power management is life and go arounds are free. Please keep your new girl dirty side down.
2.4 million views in 9 days tells you all you need to know about our interest. Show what it takes. Congrats and fly safe.
Indeed pretty dang awesome. Cool 3.25m I have seen a few 85" UH60's going for. Incredible.

This is absolutely incredible!! WOW...want to hear and see what ever your doing...to own a Black Hawk...to incorporate this machine into your line of work...don't want to miss anything...
yes, to all of it. Show me everything. The Blackhawk has been my favorite helicopter for many many years now and i am absolutely flabbergasted that a civilian can own and operate one. So yes, i want to see the whole process. Please and thank you!
Agreed.
I totally agree. And this may sound strange, but I have dreamt of owning three large helicopters that I customized for my liking. I learnt how to fly without having military training and services. LOL
This will be fun to watch the team replenish the gem and what a gen of a gift to a father on this Father's day. 😊
Please document the entire process of the Blackhawk over haul please! If it's here on this channel or on it owns separate channel it'll make for some great content. I've been a fan of yours since the vlog of going out of your way to help the farmer who was in dire straights for hay in the winter after an awful harvest. It's a fantastic thing to see such a generous honest person give up so much of their time and equipment for amazing causes. I know this Blackhawk will be a work horse of the fleet when she's up and running. Honestly either this helicopter or the BO105 would be a dream for a helicopter nut to fly in. I wish only the best of luck on you and your amazing crew!
Wow so he's also blessed he also gives his time and money that's fantastic that really is God bless
Massive congrats! Feels real good to achieve your dreams, especially when you know you've worked hard for it. Well deserved!
This is awesome! Super excited for you. I actually was on an auction few years back looking into a Blackhawk. I wanted get in there and fix it up myself and started researching if it was even legal and what companies were out there already doing this type of work. After seeing what you went through I know I wasn’t ready to do it. Instead I started applying to Sikorsky which had been bought out by Lockheed just so I could work on these beasts. Fate had other things in stored for me, but I would love to see what Thoroughbred found as far as overall condition and then the mods and options you chose to outfit yours with and of course the finished product! It’s funny I used to live right there in Lexington and Utah. To think I was so close the facility that is making your Blackhawk airworthy, now I wish I stayed! I was doing my ground courses right there at cornerstone by SLC airport too. Oh and I would love to hear your buddy’s thought on the commercial flavor of this helicopter and how it compares to his military variety with the avionics and even seat comfort

Dave: How much do you wanna see ?

Congratulations heavyD, I'm looking for word to seeing more videos of you and your Blackhawk my friend
Watching the things y'all are doing makes my life in a wheelchair a little more bearable keep on, it's awesome and thanks for sharing
I was a crew chief on Army Black Hawks. They are amazing aircraft- fast, reliable, easy to fly. Hope to see you guys do some rescue missions, that's what it's all about. You may want to consider a rescue hoist as an accessory.
Thank you
i saw someone on a video that also bought a helicopter. he said he had to take off the hoist as it was a regaulatory nightmare. this was in canada though, so maybe different in us
Absolutely awesome. Would love to see the whole process. As an ex-tank crewman, I love seeing all the vehicles you use.
How are you doing today, I hope you're doing fine if I may ask
Show us All of It!!!! Fantastic content. Love it. Can’t wait to see you fly it yourself 👌🏼
Amazing video. Unfortunately I came late, I'll see what you have already filmed, but I'd love to see the nitty gritty detail that goes in all this.
I'd love to see a lot of in depth stuff - having never seen anything really in depth on a blackhawk I'd love to see updates going over showing the mechanicals and the technical aspects of it, and yeah, love to see stuff you have to do to get it certified and signed off.
I would love to see everything. Upgrades, flight training and everything in between. I think most, including myself, will never have this experience, so it would be great to see as much as possible. Good luck.
No one..noone but you guys can pull this off, how many guys your age, with ability, finances and a place to use it, a real future for it.. Heavy D, living the dream
Cool...let's see it all. Beginning to full use...I know this is your dream but I love the fact that you will use it to help others as well. Good job and God bless 🙌 👍♥️
