@@niels12321 in an interview the muscle says he is actually not licensed. he can fly but he always just flies with a licensed pilot. (He doesn't have time to get his license with everything else he does)

100%. Dave even said it himself, old tires. No one wants to admit it when dealing with low-usage vehicles but old tires are bad tires. The tread can be perfectly fine but the tire is still done. Even if they're expensive, you still have to replace them regularly, that's the life you choose when you drive something that takes special tires.
@@raynetorrin Not an excuse. If for whatever reason the OE-spec tires are no longer available new you either change to a different tire or do what the LM002 owners do and get together a group buy that justifies a new production run of the original one. For off-road use where you're only risking yourself and/or your equipment do whatever you want, but knowingly taking a truck pulling a load on the highway with dried up old tires that are actively failing is plainly irresponsible. Yes it's expensive, but specialty vehicles require specialty parts and maintenance. No one's ever been forced to buy one of these things, pay the cost to be the boss.

I believe you need a stc for a cargo hook for both choppers. You could deliver tools, supplies, tires, generators etc at any site. The hooks are located on the center of gravity ( cg ) right along the center line of the main rotor mast making it easy to calculate your useful load along with your fuel load, pilot weight, operating altitude and mission distance. The chopper could had delivered jacks tools and tires right to the site. No need for the tow truck at all. I’m a retired A&P, IA…
I could be wrong but don't you then need a certified guy to load it as well as a different license not to mention it might not be in the initial paperwork for registering the heli so that would have to be amended.
@@jono6379 It requires a FAA part 133 certification of the company and the aircraft to be at least in the restricted category for the former military aircraft since they are taking video of it to make money. And a minimum Commercial rating for the pilot. The Cargo hook on most Blackhawk helicopters are certified for 8k-9k lbs so what he has will work, just going to take getting the paperwork finished for the restricted category since its currently in the Experimental/Exhibition category now. Current utility pilot here with a Hawk rating that worked for a company that had a Hawk for work
@@jono6379in my original post I mentioned STC that’s means that the current aircraft could be certified for cargo providing it has been approved via a supplemental type certificate ( STC ). For helicopters of that class such as the Blackhawk and the dolphin. I’m pretty sure STCs are available for that modification. Both of those helos are used in cargo operations in the military, for the Blackhawk and the dolphin for Coast Guard Usage. Obtaining an STC should not be a big deal. As far as a certified loadmaster for the helicopters. that could be one or many of his employees who would normally be assisting and directing him for loading and dropping off the cargo at the correct landing/ takeoff site . The loading and mathematical calculations to operate the helicopter safely within its flight envelope would be very easy to install that on board computer program.. the loadmaster would sign off on that data input. Ultimately, it is the pilots responsibility that all. Data paperwork and flight operation are done within approved standards by the FAA pilot operating handbook including STC alterations.
*Do you need addl paperwork for anything slung underneath? Cuts your cruise speed and range also I imagine?* Almost seems like a Huey would be a good daily driver, specification wise.*
There are strict limitations and rules around flying with a suspended load. One of the main ones being you cannot fly over populated areas. There is also extra paperwork, certificates, and licenses requirements. Much much easier to just load things into the cargo bay.
