“We’re here to fly their helicopter (I have one) and drive their boat (I also have one of those).”
lol so true but *2 helicopters 😂
Ultimate flex for sure
@@blakester7not true, google the tail # for "his" blackhawk. LOL
"his" blackhawk is N801WT, and the dauphin is N365SJ. And unless diesel dave is a drug smuggler the title is a lie too lol. FAA registry shows neither one are his and neither are owned by a single person.
@@ProfessorBidoof The registry shows they are registered to his company...
Dave in the Coast Guard Boat acting like he was smuggling drugs had me dying🤣🤣
My wife looked at my smirking and goes what’s got you smiling? Girls? I said nah. Dave dumpin sugar in the ocean lol
He looks like an old fashioned pirate 😂
I liked the music 🎶
Dave killing it as a smuggler. If he had had a real RPG and fired it like that, he would have killed both the other guys behind him with the backblast, lol
*@**0:40** Doesn't that look like Diesel Dave in the tan wifebeater and jorts climbing out of the drug sub?*
I’m a 20 year Coast Guard veteran. Flew helicopters my entire career. Never served at HITRON but I’m still very impressed by your video. Thank you for honoring the men and women of US Coast Guard aviation.
Did you serve in Corpus?
Thank you for your service
Good guys no doubt, but the potential to make a $million in a minute must be hard too control that kind of thinking, you would have to see the bigger picture at all costs and all the time, my hat is off too the men and women that do not sell out, may God keep you strong.
You the man Nelson
Standing ovation guys! Im retired Coast Guard and absolutely loved that you put them in the spotlight. And you “got it” how the CG as a whole is. Its like a small group of friends who train and perform to the highest level.
I call this one heck of a recruiting tool for the Coast Guard!
That's probably why they reached out to him lol
Yeah for guys that aren't interested in joining other services right now
well, that's EXACTLY the point. 77,000 views and it's only been up for an hour--more views than TV and targeted to the right audience.
I thought the exact same thing. Dave has the perfect audience for the coast guard.
If I was 18 again, already did my 4 years in SAC back in the day.
As a retired Coastie, I absolutely loved this episode! My first helo flight was in a HH-65B Dolphin in Hawaii more then 20 years ago, something I will never forget!
Thank you for your service, sacrifice and dedication to our nation my friend. Much respect 🤙🏼
Thank you for your service!
I have served almost 19 years in the CG, this video really made me proud of the work I do. Thanks HeavyD! The CG is in desperate need of recruits and you have made one of the best recruiting videos I have seen.
My dad is retired USCG, 15yrs as a rescue swimmer stationed in Cape Cod, he has a ton of great stories from his time there! Destin's Deep Dive into the USCG gave a ton of great info on the branch and yours added a whole new perspective with taking on the drug runners. So freakin cool to see more about the Coast Guard, especially from the Helo's POV!
30 year Captain here. Love LOVE LOVE The United States Coast Guard, even when they ding me in drydock and I gotta do something about it. When you are in deep kimchee, and Mother Ocean is about to clock you out, seeing the orange "Angel" will make you cry. Respect. Thank You.
The coastguard saved me +12 from the F/V Northern Voyager off of Salem Mass in the late 90’s. We sank about 5 miles out. Thank you C.G!!!
I also am a Navy AM veteran who was working in El Salvador for the Navy Doing Anti-Narco ops. Worked with the C.G. down there too. (Atl+Pac)
i love the channel guys but you don't need the clickbait
Quality video guys! As a grown person, I really appreciate all of our armed forces and first responders. The more of them you get to know, the more you appreciate the quality of the people doing those jobs. The Coast Guard are no exception, they have a job you can be passionate about and proud of at the same time . What an experience for you guys, I am thankful and jealous at the same time!!
I salute the U.S. Coast Guard - I watch CG Alaska. Swimmers actually jump into the freezing water to rescue disabled watercraft. They actually search land and sea for missing people. I'm amazed at their skill, finesse, physical capabilities, courage, selflessness, tactics, ad infinitum. Yes, we are in for a treat...can't wait to see the entire episode. God bless the CG and you and your crew Heavy D.
Sorry, I don't recall the video. But the CG uses fascinating methods to search in the ocean. Box method from center, but also factoring tide and dynamic ocean conditions.
You’re one of the few guys qualified to fly a Dauphin- so cool you got to ride with the Coast Guard!!
No type rating required for a Dauphin. Good knowledge 👌
@@joecambodia1326 I know there’s not a need for a type rating, but having seat time in a specific piece of equipment is something you’re going to want if you’re flying with someone.
Just because I fly MD500’s doesn’t mean I’m qualified to jump in a AS350. Yeah, mechanics of flight are similar but having everything turning in the opposite direction would take some time to get comfortable with.
@@RealRickCox no reason you couldn’t jump in an AStar, 206 or 407 and fly it away if you were a 500 pilot. I’ve seen guys go from single engine to a crane fly like a champ. I’ve seen Air Force Blackhawk guys go to a 61 couldn’t fly it worth a shat. Never heard anyone reference direction of rotation being part of a learning curve.
@@joecambodia1326 It’s not a huge learning curve, but muscle memory. When you fly a piece of equipment over and over, all of the checklists start becoming second nature. And if you have a flame out or lose tail authority or who knows what - that’s when having seat time matters.
I’ve only flown other helicopters that weren’t a MD500 a few times… the R22 was the worst for me. Then I got to fly the AS350 and H125 with another friend. The basics are all the same but I felt uncomfortable flying new equipment because I didn’t have the confidence that I’d be able to instantly respond in an emergency.
@@RealRickCox I mean that's anything tho. A little bit of training/seat time and you gain the same experience. But that works the same with shooting, driving, swinging a hammer, anything; if its new to you, you aren't as confident.
Actual non-clickbait title of the video: "Coast Guard pretends to shoot at Smuggler's boat while I'm flying IN their Helicopter".
Coast Guard drill ride-along. I'm sure it was cool to do! But watching was less than meh...waiting for the promise that never was.
@@branchandfoundry560it’s not that it wasn’t cool. The clickbait. Not a single shot fired at any smugglers
Spent 10 years active duty in the Coast Guard driving boats and loved every bit of it. I'm glad you got to see a small part of what makes the USCG so awesome.
I have family members who are in the Coast Guard, one stationed in Washington State and another down in the Keys. Thank you HeavyD for your video.
What’s their Social Security numbers?
🤣🤣. Diesel Dave played his part PERFECT.
Not gonna lie he looked almost exactly like Randy Savage
Yes I cracked up the first moment it showed him in character.
Booger sugar was great!
Almost TOO good🤔 hmmmmm :)
Reminds me of Ritz the rapper
much respect to the coast guard thank you for your service. Thank you for keeping my family and other families safe
This is next level RUclips. Thanks for using your platform and influence to educate and recruit.
My nephew was in the Coast Guard he loved it . After he got out, he went into law enforcement . He had to deal with cartels also . Lots of drugs come by sea infact anyway they can get drugs to one country or another they will find a way, unfortunately, but our guys are always looking out for it . Thank you, Coast Guard ❤ and thank you for the video 🫠❤ !!!!!!!
Good thing you're blabbing about your nephew dealing with cartels with your full name attached to your account. Pure GENIUS. 😑
Very cool Dave, I loved this my dad and Uncle was in the Coast guard during the Vietam war. So proud of his service
It really shows your skill and level of respect that you have garnered on this platform. Really speaks to your character off camera. RESPECT. KEEP DOING YOUR THING!!!
"They'll sit, or stand, or place their body parts on the engines"
The shrug and smirk tells the story of _exactly_ how much that matters to him lmao
I legit came here to say that. You know this video was reviewed by someone from the coast guard and they were like “yeaaah ….. we’re gonna need you to cut that part out” haha
Yup. Stop the craft means, well... stop the craft. Doesn't say much about things in the way, lol.
Yea. There is a reason they keep doing it...nobody makes it back to tell the tale.😂
@@olligesd9343They're out to shoot the engine, and you can't cover all of it. If the shot's a little off, well.... shouldn't have been on the engine.
Yea that clip was stopped before he was like it doesn't protect too well. We still disable that motor lol
*HeavyDSparks* Bravo well done, thank-you gentlemen for taking the time to bring us along. GOD Bless.
Let’s be honest we all came here for the title
Yeah

As a coast guard veteran I really appreciate this video! So awesome to see
I'm a Navy veteran and I'd like to shout out to the Coast Guard for the awesome job they do on the fight to get rid of drug running! It's so cool to see you guys out there with the Coast Guard training. Great video and I'll see you on the next one! 👍
Right back at you brother, 🫡

Thank you Dave for sharing the Coast Guard experience with us. God Bless the USA and the men and women that keep her free. Cheers from Texas.
Honestly one of the coolest YT videos ive watched in a long time. I was entertained, i learned many new things, shows respect for our coast gaurd which i feel gets left out of the so called "glory" too often. Super cool
From a Veteran of CG Aviation, stationed at AirSta Savannah and ATC Mobile for a while, thank you for this! Brought back some great memories. Keep up the amazing content fellas!
The lowest cost, most effective recruitment video ever. well done guys.
OMG!!! Outstanding video and great information here. So good of you to give such high praise and show respect to this organization along with all the armed forces out there.
That was a great video Dave! You’re always surprising us with contents. Kudos to the US Coast Guard. And thanks HeavyD and crew. 🤙😎
Thank YOU sooo much Coast Guard for all that you do for us. God Bless
Thank you coast guard people for helping keep america safe 👍
The "Duck Hunt" patch on the door gunners helmet is great.
Yall had a blast. I served in the coast guard back in the late 70's and 80's was a rescue swimmer and I enjoyed it but back then we flew there retired helicopters HH52's and the 53's I was down in miami for the Cuban refugees. would love to go back up. Be safe
This is an absolutely awesome PR move for the US Coast Guard!
Definitely a great move having Sparks along for a ride to show some of their capabilities.
I see this as a great recruiting opportunity towards their target demographic.
Thank you for putting a video out with the Coast Guard and you guys. They never get enough credit for the very important and dangerous job they do. Fantastic video 👍.
Did my 20 years and a great video to show what we did. Was involved in multiple patrols with that unit. Thanks for sharing.
This was amazing to watch. Thank you!
Civilians and military usually poke fun at the coast guard branch but they play an incredibly important role to our nation. Hats off to you guys for showcasing them and respect to those men and women who serve.🙏🏻
They don’t do anything to protect our nation all the do 99% of the time is fly around they are rarely rescuing people most of the time they can’t even find the person in the ocean
All they do is rescue people and stop a drug shipment once every few months
@@williamsherman2776 They do lot more than that, you just don't realize it.
Loved my time working alongside HITRON when I was a pursuit coxswain for the CG. A lot of fun and training. Those guys are professionals through and through.
Hell yeah! We had a few HITRON crews hitch a ride on the Venturous around 2010! Those were some mighty productive patrols!
Thank you!!!
Ford model a
"they'll never get us alive" lmfao i was cracking up at diesel dave hahahaha
I’m a 22 year old machinery technician “mechanic” in the coast guard in Alaska on a 110’ cutter. I have learned and seen so much I never would have if it wasn’t for the coast guard. Absolutely love everyone I’ve meet and get treated like family. Definitely give it a look there are plenty of rates other than just in this video.
52 yrs ago, I was hanging out the side door of the then current model HH-52A while we cruised the length of Virginia Beach at about 250' checking roof tops for naked sunbathers. Yep, the Coast Guard was a different breed, even back then. Viva la difference.
And what about the chalk board stowed behind the SAR board in back of the H52?
Do you remember what was always written on that chalk board…LOL
Sorry, I was stationed at AR&SC, only flying on check rides and basically as a glorified passenger. Most of my crewmember flying was on Guam in C-123B cargo planes primarily as Loadmaster. By the time I got to E. City, I was just putting in time to discharge.
🫡 to all you guys from a CG veteran!
No need to apologize, AR&SC/ALC did/does what it takes to keep Coast Guard aircraft updated & airworthy, via the routine overhauls. The backbone of CG Aviation on the maintenance & supply logistics side.
That’s what’s up brother, 20 years ago, we would cruise up to Murrels Inlet or Myrtle Beach and do some T&A boardings. Good times!
My son just joined HITRON a few months ago and is currently getting qualified in aircraft maintenance.
I’m a Navy vet and was stationed on a carrier, and I thought this video was super cool! It’s amazing what these pilots and gunners can do at those speeds!
I love our country, and what a great opportunity. Thank you for sharing your experience and explaining everything so well. Wish it was longer.
Hats off to the men and women of the USCG. Thanks for their services to our country.

Coast Guard Snipers are a different breed of skilled marksmen
You do realize that’s a ar with a rifle scope right not a actual rifle people do that all the time just look up videos of people shooting hogs out of helicopters
@@Atomic-db1hna hog runs 80 to 100+ mph? Moving up and down on water with other hogs on it trying to keep you from shooting body parts with their bodies? But you can’t shot the other hogs riding on the 100+ mph hog or you’ll go to jail.

You can still get in if you want.
@@mikeorjimmy2885 I’d love to but unfortunately I’m afraid my recent knee injury while mountain biking will cause problems.

So cool of the Coast Guard to invite you in, and so cool of you to help tell their story. These people in the services and on the front lines who put their lives on the line to save ours are heroes in the truest sense.
I know a couple of guys that were in the Coast Guard. They said it was the best part of their lives! One was a pilot and the other on a boat in the Port of LA. Damn the stories they have!!!!!! If I could back in time I would definitely go into the Coast Guard!!!! They kick ass!!!!
“You see there they’re covering the engine with their body’s, so what we do there is we pull out the bigger weapons “ lol
Interesting fact, my next door neighbors only son 4 or 5 years younger than me kept asking me what he should do with his life while a young teen n grateful enough he listened to my advice n joined the coastguard 20 plus years ago and stuck with it! Congrats brother! U made your father, mother n next door neighbor proud of my mans!!
Thanks so much for the Coast Guard who doesn't get nearly the recognition they deserve God bless you all !!! And all veterans!!
You worked so hard for your community and Family. You deserve this and so so much more glad you had fun. The episode was very well done and entertaining thank you.

Being in the Coast Guard was the absolute best time of my life. Your shipmates are for life. It's a tight group, a small group that cover the globe. Oldest continuous sea going service in the US is the CG (sorry Navy) .
This video is awesome, seeing what the Coast Guard actually does or can’t do is amazing. Having a little fun with Diesel Dave being a smuggler well, let’s just say was awesome to. Glad to see you guys having an amazing time in Florida. Until the next video.😀👍❤️❤️❤️
