I bought my PKP recently at the Christmas sales mainly for steaming green veg mixed with potatoes and diced up beef and it works perfectly for that. If I want to have a chicken breast or pork chops to go with my meal I use a halogen oven for that which is also very fast. When the timer has counted down I simply lift the the plastic steam valve using a long utensil until all the steam has stopped and the small floating steam valve has dropped and then I open the lid carefully.
Hi Sammie! Been using my PKP 6l for about 5 years, but very seldom use all programs as my included recipe booklet does not include a whole lot of information or recipes for certain functions. One I’m really curious about is the multicook function. Can you explain what it does or what it’s for. The other question I have is how do you remove a cooked pizza from the inner pot once cooked per the recipe booklet?
Hi,I noticed you used a plastic steamer trivet in some vids ,I haven't got one of those with my 5ltr pkp,can you use the amazon stainless steel steamer trivet with legs, have you tried these at all? CHEERS.
Have 3lt king po everything l have tried.has been great except potatoes have change the times up and they either come out as mash or not cooked what am l doing wrong
I've just bought the PKP 3L and it didn't come with a trivet, can anyone suggest a non-metallic (so it doesn't scratch the bowl) trivet that will fit the 3L. I've had a look on Amazon and the FB group accessories page for the 3L, but I can't seem to find one small enough? If not a trivet, does anything else work instead? Thanks in advance.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge and hints and tips Sammiie. I’m a new convert from traditional stovetop pressure cooker and feeling my way around the PKP 6L. Some initial queries that I would be grateful for you or anyone to comment on. 1) have not managed to release pressure the natural way yet - I’ve unplugged PKP when it’s finished cooking and left it untouched for 20 mins, expecting the pressure to gradually release. But the float valve remained ‘up’, no visible sign that any pressure was releasing and ended up having to do it the quick way. Where am I going wrong? 2) how long should it take from pressing start to getting up to pressure and cooking time counting down? Seems to be taking almost 20 odd mins so wondering if that’s normal or not? 3) as a general rule of thumb, would cooking time be same for stovetop pressure cooker vs PKP or is there a knack to converting one to another? Thanks everyone.
Hi there Koala! Ive never used a stove top sadly i cant comment on that however.. There's loads of recipes and info in my group if u need it. The natural release of pressure is usually 15-20 minutes, and then it slowly releases on its own.. It can take a little longer depending on the amount of liquid. If youd care to join the group i and other members can help you xx
Hi, Our pot sticks after a first use. We cleaned before the first use with hot water and soap but we don't know what we did wrong. We used a silicone espatula to avoid any scratch but after the first use all the food stick into de base of the pot. Any idea o recommendations to avoid this, please? We ordered a replacement pot. Thank you
Thank you for all the info, I just got mine PKP 24 in 1, but am bit disappointed that it takes so long for the pressure to build up, I did not expect this and am struggling to time and plan my meals. I was deciding between the instant pot and PKP, so I wonder if I should have gone for instant pot as it seems to build up the pressure in only 5 minutes according to my neighbour. Is it normal for PKP to take this long and various times as well? Thank you.
Thank you for the video. It was really helpful. I have just purchased my first PKP 5L and was disappointed that it didn't have the cake function (I should have chosen the 6L). I'm wondering if it's still possible to make cakes and sponge puddings in the 5L version. I can make them in my slow cooker, so surely it wouldn't be too hard for the PKP?
There's a confusion about the steam function. The manual asks to leave the pressure valve on open position. But steam doesn't build with it open and it goes on the second step (building pressure), and doesn't go to the third step (cooking). Steaming makes it to default to 3 minutes, but only if the pressure is kept to close. So what's the proper way to steam? Open valve or close?
I've just bought a PKP and used it a few times and I am very pleaded with it. I was looking through the recipe book and looked at the recipe for yogurt. It says to add Kefir. I reserched this product and only found out how to make it into a drink. Do I buy it in a bottle or do I make my own culture. I am eagerly waiting for your reply. Regards Carol Hendrick.
Sammie my King Pro has started not showing the digital numbers. It is not in the guarantee period. It is still cooking ok though. I wondered if there was anything that I could do. Kathy Woodward
Hi sammie. How the pressure cooker is working but the digital numbers aren't showing the time. For example struck at 30mins. Not showing time left. Just started using pressure cooker today. Help!!!😔
Really helpful, thank you. Liked and subbed also joined the fb group. I've not got a KPK yet, I have been tossing up between the KPK 6L and the Instant Pot 6L to be honest, I've still not made up my mind yet.
Scratching you inner pot, can cause Altimzer sorry for my spelling. This happens when you have scratched the surface and very small pieces gets into your food. Be careful. Tony
No, for chips you need a deep frying [190 C] or an air fryer, go to high street TV. PKP is to cook watery food, when I put chips in they were soggy and crumbled.

Thank you so so much, you have a new subscriber ⭐️
Do you think a silicone mat at the bottom of the inner bowl would be ok to stop it scratching the base, just a mad thought
Silicon doesn’t conduct i’m afraid

Depending on the portion about 20mins. The rice button is best. Boil water while peeling then add to PKP.

can u do chips in them?
No, for chips you need a deep frying [190 C] or an air fryer, go to high street TV. PKP is to cook watery food, when I put chips in they were soggy and crumbled.
