  • @FreddyGabriel
    @FreddyGabriel 3 года назад +1

    This was the last video I saw before I'm about to decide going one PC stream is more viable than this headache. For me I've tried everything. GOXLR, SM7B, line in and out all set up perfectly. The issue I'm having is no control with the PC stream from GOXLR. I keep hearing my voice from the PC stream and it's making my audio clip. I can disable headphones mic from GOXLR router using single PC setup. With a dual, it's nearly impossible. Every video I've seen has a different way of doing this and none has worked thus far for me. It's sad that there's no control the PC stream so Mic/Aux acts as one channel. Can't separate the mic from aux. Thumbs up, good video though.

    • @CodyRiffs
      @CodyRiffs  3 года назад

      Sorry if I’m misunderstanding - your problem is that you are not able to control your XLR mic and the audio coming from your streaming PC? Assuming you are using a dual PC setup? Just want to try to help get you up and running!

    • @FreddyGabriel
      @FreddyGabriel 3 года назад

      @@CodyRiffs Yes. It's a dual PC setup. The audio from the streaming PC (when line in is enabled in router of GOXLR software) gives my sound a 5db gain when raising the volume. When I use my SM7B not only can I hear myself (which headphones in GOXLR software is unchecked) I still hear myself loud and not very clear.
      I use a ground loop noise isolator for my headphones. I've noticed with this dual PC setup there is static from the line in. I purchased a rush delivery last night for a ground loop noise isolator only to find out the problem with the static noise still persists.
      I'm at the end here. I've done exactly what the videos tell me to do. Quite simple tutorials. Unfortunately, something doesn't want to work.
      Thank you! I appreciate you taking time to help.

    • @CodyRiffs
      @CodyRiffs  3 года назад

      @@FreddyGabriel That is strange - I wish I could see your setup to get a better idea of what's going on. Do you use a headset that also has a mic? Maybe that's where it's coming from?

    • @FreddyGabriel
      @FreddyGabriel 3 года назад

      @@CodyRiffs Yes sir I do. It's always on mute. I use the SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless headphones. It's also connected with a ground loop noise isolator to silence the noise. Here is my setup.
      GoXLR, SM7B and two pc's. The wiring is exactly how you and others have stated. There is a ground loop noise isolator in the line in of the goxlr that connects to the stream pc. The GOXLR software is ajusted exactly how you stated.
      When line in is checked, I hear noise regardless of the ground loop noise isolator. I can also hear my voice when talking on the mic unless I uncheck the line in which shouldn't affect recording voice. Then again, since the begining switching from the Hyperx mic, I've had an echo sound on my SM7B and not sure why that's there. Reverb and Echo on GOXLR is on 0. If line in is enabled in the software, that's when the sound gets to clipping and is very loud.
      Something wrong with the Audio portion and not physical connection. Even when I try to use obs.ninja. My voice cannot be heard but I can hear them. Really weird.
      Thanks for taking the time and dealing with my issue when you don't have to. Appreciate it my friend.

      This can be done, but it's going to require that you set your GoXLR up the opposite way that I advised. You will have to have your GoXLR plugged in to your streaming PC instead of Gaming PC. Only then will OBS be able to recognize all of the separate channels instead of just the broadcast mix coming from the line in. both aux cabels go in the streaming pc ?

  • @Flak_TV
    @Flak_TV 2 года назад +1

    I have a question. I have dual pc and currently have my goxlr just hooked up to my stream pc because when I route the aux cables to and from the stream pc they don't pick up the cable as if they aren't plugged in. Do you know what might be causing this issue. I've used it just on my stream pc for about a year now and it works good but I have to have discord on my stream pc and I have to use a separate mic for my game pc if I want to use game chat. Kinda annoying.

    • @CodyRiffs

      Hmmm. You are saying the line in/out doesn’t seem to work? Just verifying that you know for sure that you have everything properly routed in the software as well?

    the audio sounds super washed out when I record a video. also my laptop (streaming pc) doesnt have a line in option in obs, the only option there is that works is "microphone (realtek(R) audio codec with THX spatial audio)” my laptop has separate in/out ports. I don’t have a ground loop isolator tho, could that be causing the problem ?

  • @zedzed9one

    • @CodyRiffs
      @CodyRiffs  3 года назад

      Unfortunately I don’t believe GoXLR’s are designed to work on Macs. The solution would be to just use it there and bring in game audio from the gaming PC line out to the line in on the GOXLR. Is there no audio input on the Mac? Only a headphone jack?

  • @DeadDylan
    @DeadDylan 3 года назад +1

    why do you need the isolater? what if you dont have a wireless mic

    • @CodyRiffs
      @CodyRiffs  3 года назад

      The isolator is to take away the interference coming from the PC back to the GOXLR. If you don’t have this, it’s possible and likely that you’ll hear a buzz in the audio. As for your second question, I think you mean what if you don’t have a wireless headset? If your headset is wired, you can simply plug them in to the headphone jack in the front of the GoXLR mini (or in the back of a regular GoXLR).

      So you will have an aux cable that will go out of the streaming PC into one side of the ground loop noise isolator. Then there will be another aux cable coming out of the other side of the ground loop noise isolator that will go into the GoXLR. The one I bought came with a small aux cable already so it's not unnecessarily messy. Does that make sense? Hope that helps!
