I just got the GoXLR Mini in today, and this is one of the best, easy to follow and perfectly laid out videos that I've ever seen. You did awesome on this. Thank you!!!
By far the best video for setting up audio, Thank you so so much for helping me with this much love bro. Highly appreciate the effort you put into making this video man :)
Wow this is great!! I'm so glad I found this video. Getting this set up is such a hassle. Do you think you could explain how to connect the sounds from both PCs to the stream on OBS? That would be extremely helpful. And it would be the final part to my set up.
Great video and a neat little device, but one thing pretty much disqualifies it for me - no equalizer for the headphone output. And you can't use Equalizer APO, because that would affect the audio going to the stream, not just my headphones.
would the optical port capture chat audio from console or would you have to plug the line out from the go xlr into the el gato capture device, i stream from ps4 to pc and not many people nailed the video you been the most clear.
To me, the whole reason of having a second PC to do the actual streaming is to take the load of all the other needed programs, like spotify, discord, etc to the other PC. So why would we connect this up to the gaming PC? Isn't there a way to have it run on the streaming PC instead?
Hello, I have a problem with the goxlr mini and super video super well explained but it's normal that I hear myself back when I speak and I hear all the ambient noise
If you don’t want to hear yourself - on the mixer tab uncheck the microphone option on the headphone row. That will keep it from going though. As far as the noise, that would depend on the mic type and noise gate settings. It is very user specific so unfortunately something you will have to play with in your scenario. Hope this helps.
Great video!! I have a couple questions I am hoping you can help with though. Are all of the settings within the GOXLR software adjustable if you are using a USB mic? I am most interested in the mute options that it offers. Lastly, if you have a wireless headset, can you hear your mic monitoring through the GOXLR? Any help is appreciated!
Is it possible to not have to use the front headphone port for a 3.5mm pair of headphones? I want to avoid having to use the front ports as it doesn’t suit my cable management, I tried the audio out port in the back of the mixer but the headphones didn’t get very loud
I have a problem where the "GoXLR App" is using the microphone output according to Windows, and this is preventing my PC to automatically go to sleep. There is a microphone System Tray Icon which says that the GoXLR App is using the mic and this comes every time I reboot my PC, the PC wakes from sleep, or I restart the App. The app, however doesn't seem to actually use the microphone, since if I go to the settings and uncheck/check the "Allow apps to use microphone", the icon disappears, but microphone and the App works just fine and the PC can now automatically sleep. However, as soon as it wakes up, the icon appears again and PC won't sleep until I go check/uncheck the "Allow apps to use microphone" setting
Do I have to set up my headset to the front of the goxlr mini ? Or can I just leave it plugged in to my pic because when plugged in to the goxlr mini I can hear myself talk and it’s annoying
You can remove your mic from playing through your headphones. Uncheck that setting in the table. Or you can just lower the volume of your own mic to a low level but can still monitor yourself.
Hey man, do you know why I can't hear Discord through my headphones when I set discord's output to "Chat" same thing for Spotify when I set it to "Music" in output settings I can't hear it
Hey man when i plug my headphones there is a huge interference and when i click on mic set up there is also a significant interference when adjusting the gain.
Hi, I came to your tutorial after a lot of research, I have a GO XLR Mini, but I have a laptop for streaming and a computer for gaming. Are the steps the same? I don't have line out or line in on the laptop, do I need a sound card with line in output?
can see get a setup for obs with goxlr? my line in with the ground loop isolator is still making a buzz on my stream, i cant find a single fix anywhere
Also, I see configurations with different people. Some recommending plugging the USB of the go XLR and to the streaming PC and using the line in / out 3.5 audio cables to the back of the gaming PC. Others recommend plugging in the go XLR USB to the back of the gaming PC and then running the line in / out 3.5 cables to the back of the streaming PC. What's the difference of doing these, and which one is best? I'm trying to find the best configuration for my setup. I appreciate the great content 👍
If you figured this out let me know! just ordered the Go XLR and i Plan on trying the first method. Ill be Using a Streaming Laptop which only provides a 3.5 audio OUT
The line out controls gaming pc, but i can not seem to get any audio in gaming pc, but when I switch to my streaming pc everything works. Any suggestions
Alright so this might sounds weird cause I'm a sound engineer but the GoXLR mini is the only super-portable interface on the market with an optical port, proper vumeters and faders. So I was wondering - if you can tell me : I guess that's a given with Spdif but do you know whether or not the GoXLR mini support ADAT over spdif protocol? Because this would mean I could connect up to 8 channel of audio through that port, and also hopefully route back the line out to have proper connection for monitoring. I can only imagine the possibilities... how could would it be to just walk-in any studio as a host and connect 8 channels of audio from a state-of-the-art pre-amp to a device the size of your palm for broadcasting :D
I hope you are someone else can help me out with this. When I select in the sound system options "System XLR Mini", no sound plays to my headphones, how do I fix this.
Hey there - you should be able to adjust what you want the sliders to control under the “Mixer” tab on the GoXLR app. You would select your channel then the source you want it to control. This would give you volume control and mute ability for the 4 sources. Hope this helps.
i recently got one now my mic sounds better than it ever did , having a Lil prob thoe whenever I record my gameplay though shadowplay im hearing a slight echo in the gameplay footage & i have no idea why or how to fix there also no info about this online plz help
Lance Luther hey there. In a dual Pc setup - nothing really. Some of the options in the mixer really only apply if you are using a one PC setup. Hope this helps.
Hi! So it seemed like you mightve answered this, but I can listen to audio from my pc and console at the same time? Also would this mess up my mic usage? like will it just not work because I need to plug my hyperx quadcast into the go xlr or something? Mostly just wanna know the first question. Thanks in advance!
You should be able to have the PC and Console sounds both coming through as long as they are both routed correctly to the headphones/output. That way you could have you the game sounds from the console and the pc notifications etc come through and you can adjust the volume of each in the app settings - or by a slider if you assign it to one.
And for the quadcast - you would need to connect the 3.5mm from the headphone out to the mic input on the front. And use the go xlr for all your settings. You will still have to connect the mic to usb power - but don’t select that mic in your pc settings. You would have to use the GOXLR Mic to have all the mixer power. Let me know if I can help more.
Nice guide, thank you for making this and being clear and concise. However, I would not call this complete when the subject of using a USB headset (a no go apparently), or wanting to hear sounds from speakers while not streaming / recording are not covered at all.
Hey there - that is a great question that I am actually not sure of. My Pod Mic is a dynamic mic - so I actually haven’t had to use the condenser option and tested it. You are correct though on the app it does list as the 48v. Sorry I couldn’t be more help.
@@ConvincedTech Thanks for that fast reply!! It's alright! I'm just planning to buy this on amazon. @@29GiaN23 That looks like a good deal - the only thing I will say that swayed me to a dynamic mic like the pod mic was how directional they are. It was much better at not picking up other sounds in the room and only what was right in front of it - which fit my needs better. Either way - you will love the goxlr. One of my favorite pieces of tech I have bought.
@@ConvincedTech i see the gain goes up to almost half without there being any sound from my mic or pc before i stream, so yes its safe to say it does it when recording too

Really awesome video dude. You have a new sub. I also have a question. I can see that the specs for the GoXLR Mini state "GO XLR MINI is designed for use with USB 2.0 ports. USB 3.0/3.1 ports can cause audio dropouts and disconnections". Have you experienced anything like this?

yohannsphotography videography you sure can. You would just go under the settings menu in zoom -> then Audio and select the output and input that you want for the way your system is setup. Something like “System” for the output and “Chat Mic” for the input. Hope this helps!
hello guys, i have a question. I want to use the GoXLR for personal use. i dont stream (yet) and i have the same headset like u but wireless. I cant seem to set it up tho. can someone help me? :)
My problem is i want the usb goxlr mini connected to my streaming pc not the gaming pc cause i only have 2 monitors. I want my spotify, slobs and discord on my streaming pc monitor so i dont have to click out of my game to see these apps. I wanf to use my gaming monitor just to game from the gaming pc. Problem i am running into is my stream cant hear my alerts sounds cause if i audio track them on slobs using desktop audio it doubles up my game sound. I cant seem to split the 2 up. Help.. does anyone know how to fix this issue?
Hey Gunz - I think I understand what’s going on - let’s try something. To confirm. Your headset is plugged into your go XLR - and we are just wanting game sounds coming from gaming PC back into streaming PC to hear on your headset and on stream. Everything else is handled on streaming PC.
One thing you could try is to plug your line out from the gaming PC directly into your line in on the Streaming Pc - this would give you a separate input for your game audio from your desktop audio on SLOBS. You would prob just want to select the cog beside the mixer on slobs - and turn on “monitor and output” for the line in - to ensure the game audio is going through your headset.
SSaanngSS hey there. The aux cables are for the 2 pc setup (in/out) from the second pc. If you are only using a single pc you just need an XLR cable and the supplied USB with the GoXLR. Hope this helps - let me know if you have more questions. It’s an awesome setup you will have.
@@ConvincedTech hey, thank you so much for replying so fast! i'm only using one pc so you defo helped me there! thank you so much, and have a great day!
Hey there. So when you are talking and the noise gate is open - it will pass through any sounds that the mic is picking up. So adjusting the gate threshold wouldn’t ever make that go away. I believe the only thing to help wouldn’t be inside of the GoXLR but would be more things like - a bigger distance between the keyboard and mic, different switches or keyboard that isn’t as clicky, or a more directional mic like a dynamic one if you don’t already have one like the pod mic that picks up a lot more of what’s in front of it and not as much on the sides or behind. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions! Thanks for watching!

If this doesn’t work - let me know and we can troubleshoot some more.
hey, i'm buying the Røde podmic along side with the goXLR mini. I didn't understand do i still need 2 aux cables? Since its an xlr mic. :)
But what if my treshold is on -28 db but i still hear my keyboard while talking and while not talking and when go higher my mic will cutoff me talking
Should my mic be plugged into streaming pc?
The way I have mine routed - I have it plugged into the gaming machine.
What if your headset is wireless
