@@MachineDaena Thanks for getting back to me. I have run into a problem where I did everything in the video and it is not recognizing my microphone at all. Under Broadcast Stream Mix, I see the green bars going up and down but nothing on Chat Mic
Hey! I hope you’re doing well, thanks for watching! If you see the bars go up and down on the stream mic, the mic must be doing something. Try toggling the mic on your headset in the routing tab (top line “Mic” tick it where it says “headset” on the left side matrix” - that way you’ll be able to hear your mic on your headset to test it’s coming through alright. Then untoggle it again so it doesn’t stay like that. From there it must be an issue with the chat routing if you can hear it when you test it per the above. When you say you don’t see the bars go up and down on chat mic, so you mean within OBS / StreamLabs? If so, it means the device in OBS is not linked to your chat mic. But that’s not a problem if the mic is coming through the stream mic (because it’s at least coming through something!). On my settings I have the broadcast stream mix contain my mic output and that’s enough for stream for me! If you check some of the comments, I recent left (I think i hearted) a comment with a OneDrive video showing my settings… that vid might help you dude (you’ll need to browse comments though)….
Great video, with really good information, The only problem i had was with your mic sound, It sounds like you have the gate up to high and your voice keeps going up and down in volume and kind of keeps cutting out. Made it very hard to listen to.

Hey, thanks for watching! The GoXLR software will create Windows 'tracks' for different audios. All the app then does is allow you to map different audio types (e.g. your mic, discord, music etc) to the different faders and to those audio types. Rather than explain each one, I've got videos on how to do this for; wireless headsets, Discord, Spotify / music :) Feel free to check out the other GoXLR vids I have! Best of luck and enjoy the GoXLR!
Hey question about speakers how can I connect them? If I buy this I might need to get different speakers as I currently have krk rokit for the last decade but I would be willing to get whatever speakers just to be able to split my discord and have one stop solution with this kit for my vids and streaming. Much appreciated 🙏
Hey dude! Thanks for watching - I don’t know the answer exactly as I’ve not tested it and down have speakers but I’m sure you could get this working because you’ll probably still have a PC Out cable that can be used to connect with the speakers. You’ll probably have to experiment with the hardware to tweak how it’s set up but I’m sure you can get this working! PS Buy Bitcoin ;)

Aux might work, you’ll need to experiment. If it has no line in, and the aux doesn’t work per the video (use that instead of line in) then I’m afraid there’s a high chance it won’t work unfortunately. Thanks for watching and sorry I couldn’t be more help!
Hi, I came to your tutorial after a lot of research, I have a GO XLR Mini, but I have a laptop for streaming and a computer for gaming. Are the steps the same? I don't have line out or line in on the laptop, do I need a sound card with line in output?
Hey, thanks for watching. It very much depends on how you have it set up. Most people have everything including game, music, discord etc on the gaming pc, and then line out the sound into the line in, from the gaming pc into the streaming pc. In this scenario you’d need a line in!
i have the mini. I'm looking at the GoXLR software. In the Mixer Tab, under Faders, I don't see a "Source" column beside the "Channel" column. 13:50 Was there a recent update that locks in the Channel Sources? Cuz now Channel 1,2,3,4 are permanently Mic, Chat, Music, System
Hey, there have been updates and even as recently as earlier this week that changed the GoXLR software. Make sure you update to the latest version. As far as I’m aware TC Helicon have not removed the ability to remap the faders. Thanks for watching dude and best of luck with it!
Thanks for some great info before my purchase. Looks like I will being going with this over the wave XLR. I was just curious as to how my fiio k5 DAC amp which power my beyerdynamic dt990 headphones would play into the mix. Would I be unable to control audio levels if my headset is not directly plugged into the XLR. My headset is also 1/4 inch and not 3.5mm
No problem! Thanks for watching! The Wave XLR looks like a good product, but doesn't have the same faders capability as the GoXLR. You may have to buy a converter to convert 1/4 to 3.5, but I'm sure you'd be able to hear with that headset yes ! PS if you buy the GoXLR - use my affiliate code below :P

Still trying to dial it in, but my in game volume etc, although maxed out within app, windows etc. still seems low af. Lol Keep up the 🔥 thanks again.
Heyo, thanks for the sub, view and positivity! Glad you found the vid useful! I'm having the exact same issue with my headset... I'm not sure yet if this is a hardware issue, or if it's due to Windows, or if it's due to the GoXLR software. I've currently getting my headset refunded under warranty, but if the problem persists with my next headset it could be the GoXLR and my next step would be to contact TC Helicon in their Discord group. You may want to do the same dude. Fortunately you can use the Headset volume slider (last tab on the right, on the MIXER tab in GoXLR software...) and put it to 100% which (for me at least) is a temporary workaround when this happens (it happens about 25% of the time for me).
@@MachineDaena will that work with usb headsets? I love my current headset short of the usb issue and would really hate to have to buy a new headset lol
You can use a 3.5mm mic and get all the same function as an XLR so not really sure what you mean when you said you are losing the functionality? Can you explain?
The preamp in the GoXLR is completely redundant if you don’t use XLR. So the quality kick from XLR capability is nonexistent if you just use a shitty 3.5mm mic.
@@MachineDaena I can hook up a good USB mic with it and get all the functionality of the GoXLR. I guess if it was an actual straight 3.5 mic that makes sense. I was referring to a Usb mic hooked using the mics headphone output which works just fine with the GoXLR and all the features still work.
@@NewYears1978 From a features point of view, the GoXLR still operates as normal, but some of the literally monetary value, and value for money, is because it has a Midas preamp within the XLR connector that enables analogue to digital sound. If you're not using that, you're not making the most of al the features, but it's still an incredibly useful product (just lower value for money!)
@@MachineDaena I understand. Yeah with a USB Condenser mic the preamp wouldn't be needed. I just want it for the routing capabilities. I have a Wave 3 and use the Wave Link software which does this, but introduces a delay that I HATE. So looking for alternatives. If there is something cheaper that does the routing, submixes, etc then please let me know. My plan was to get the mini though, it's only $219
@@NewYears1978 GoXLR Mini is certainly better value for money than the full sized, for sure. You might want to take a little look at the PC Panel Pro; www.getpcpanel.com/product-page/pcpanel-pro It's half the price, and isn't for XLR, but is pretty much a dedicated (new on the market) audio routing panel. However, they're releasing in batches as far as I can see! Otherwise... get the GoXLR! FYI, you could probably sell the Wave 3 for like $100-130 dollars, and just get an XLR mic for similar cost, and then you'll be using the preamp ;) Best of luck with it, whatever you decide to do!

Power pack thing at the end of the USB line?????? What? That's a ferrite bead, and it's there to reduce high-frequency line noise. Has nothing to do with powering it.

Here’s the vid with the addition OneDrive video within the comments; m.ruclips.net/video/8m4O0_4CWRw/видео.html hope it helps!
great video bud
Thanks dude, glad you found it useful!
This is an amazing tutorial. Thank you for your help
This video is so helpful and clear thank you so much!
THANKYOU, you helped me set up my spotify and discord on the sliders much appreciation. bout to watch some more vids
Hey! Glad the vids helped!
Thanks for tuning innnnn! :)
Great video, with really good information, The only problem i had was with your mic sound, It sounds like you have the gate up to high and your voice keeps going up and down in volume and kind of keeps cutting out. Made it very hard to listen to.
Hey thanks for watching! Yea I rushed to do that video too quickly before getting it set up more properly. I’ve since tweaked my mic settings a lot and also changed mics to the SM7B! But I’m leaving the content up :P
Best of luck! :)
Is it possible to use the software without the actual GOXLR?
I’m not sure - I think so yes! Give it a try and let us know! Be good for others to know!
Can you actually explain the seperating of audios? That’s the last part I think I’m stuck at
Hey, thanks for watching!
Dam really wish you went into more detail how to change system bar to game sound
you have the go xlr why no de-esser
The mini does not have de-esser. The full size does. I have the mini.
THIS WAS AMAZINGGGGGGGGGG
Thank you! Really glad it helped :)
@@MachineDaena thanks for the reply, yeah I’m just going to get it and worry later, I like this board a lot. Yeah bro btc all the way keep buying my way out of the matrix system don’t want to work till I’m old 😫btw great vid and that Shure mic you got looks dope, in general nice looking setup subbed and 👍

You’re welcome, thanks for watching!
and where can i download the goxlr software????
On their website. www.tc-helicon.com/downloads.html
Thank you so much for this . Exactly what I was looking for .
Glad it was helpful! Dont' forget to like and sub :P
whats your mic gain?
Hey, thanks for watching! I’ve completely changed my mic and my mic settings since this vid! I wasn’t happy with the audio settings when I first set up my GoXLR (when this vid was made!).
May audio is significantly better now and I’ll more than likely do a vid about this very soon!
where do i get goxlr mini sofware?
hey mate great video showed everything so simply. I just have an issue i was wondering if you could help with which is im trying to get my mic to work for in game chat. it works for everything else but talking in game. i have a xlr and am using a wireless headset (dont know if that changes anything). again great vid and keep doing what your doing
Hey dude, thanks for watching! Glad you found it useful.
I’ve got a small playlist for GoXLR set ups for Discord, general, music and for wireless headsets here; ruclips.net/p/PL7WNyW8upBjaoLwmiuML2yXx8B7CYtY9Q (there’s a few other hardware vids in there but it’s mainly GoXLR!).
You might find them useful!
I’m using a razor laptop and it only has a aux out what do I do?!?
Aux might work, you’ll need to experiment. If it has no line in, and the aux doesn’t work per the video (use that instead of line in) then I’m afraid there’s a high chance it won’t work unfortunately.
Thanks for watching and sorry I couldn’t be more help!
Is your OS Windows 10 or 11?
10! But I have some plugins that make it look nicer than normal W10
Was there a recent update that locks in the Channel Sources?
Cuz now Channel 1,2,3,4 are permanently Mic, Chat, Music, System
Hey, there have been updates and even as recently as earlier this week that changed the GoXLR software. Make sure you update to the latest version.
As far as I’m aware TC Helicon have not removed the ability to remap the faders.
Thanks for watching dude and best of luck with it!
@@MachineDaena fixed the issue.
In the Global Settings of the System tab,
"Lock Fader..." was checked 😅
All good now
@@GunJam_ Thanks for reverting back and letting people know dude, appreciate that! Glad you sorted it!
PS if you buy the GoXLR - use my affiliate code below :P
you can unscrew the 6.3 audio jack on the dt990 and it will become a 3.5 jack
Not sure if you still need this, but you can just unscrew the 1/4 inch and it becomes 3.5mm
Nice vid👍
Ive a problem, maybe u can help me.
I play warzone & want to mute just the game sound. When I select "game" as output it works. But I have to do it every time I start the game new. 🤷♂️ otherwise it just works for the sound in the lobby, but not ingame. (Hope u know what i mean😅)
Hey, thanks for watching! I had a similar issue- I think if you just save your GoXLR profile when you’ve made the changes, it should keep the settings each time you restart your pc!
@@MachineDaena dont work. Its in windows, not the go xlr app
Phenomenal informative video my man. Thank you for taking the time to make it! Liked and subscribed to support. I just got the full size with my Sure SM7B and using Hyper X Orbit’s.
@@MachineDaena thank you!
You should make this a series and not title it the only the guide you need otherwise great video, like from me 👍
Thanks for the feedback! Appreciate it :)
@@MachineDaena no problem I like your video flow tho not sticking on the same subject for too long respect ✊
get a go xlr they said it makes it easier shits more complicated then it should

i dont get it, everytime i channel to 'system' instead of my headset for audio i lose ALL AUDIO lol
Heh dude! Sorry we haven’t been able to connect yet! Is it a wireless headset or wired?

I'm struggling, I can't hear people on the game
You might want to take a little look at the PC Panel Pro; www.getpcpanel.com/product-page/pcpanel-pro
It's half the price, and isn't for XLR, but is pretty much a dedicated (new on the market) audio routing panel. However, they're releasing in batches as far as I can see!
Otherwise... get the GoXLR! FYI, you could probably sell the Wave 3 for like $100-130 dollars, and just get an XLR mic for similar cost, and then you'll be using the preamp ;)
Best of luck with it, whatever you decide to do!
Bro. How you gonna have a best mic settings video and the mic sounds like your talking underwater…
Lol I know I know. TBF it’s a GoXLR vid not a best mic settings vid, but I literally set up the mic and then recorded this vid without sorting out my own mic settings.
My audio took the L this vid!!
@@MachineDaena I respect the honest answer. I’m out here with no knowledge of this product I just bought just trynna learn. Your video was great, but the mic quality was distracting/ made me worry that the go xlr isn’t that great…
Thank you
Power pack thing at the end of the USB line?????? What? That's a ferrite bead, and it's there to reduce high-frequency line noise. Has nothing to do with powering it.
Nice.
thhaaaaaaaanks
Thank youuuuu for watching!
one of your settings is off the whole video your voice is cutting in and out check you gate i think it is or your compressor
This video was a long time ago. I’ve since dramatically overhauled my compressor settings and swapped out my mic for a Shire SM7B.
Owning a goxlr and having such a badly equalized mic is a sin.
You're really bad at explaining how to plug everything in
I use the ps5 and i have the GoXLR. my only problem is.. i can hear game audio. But my stream can’t hear the game audio. do u know why that is 😩😩
Hey, thanks for watching!
This is most likely a routing issue (check "Routing" tab on the GoXLR software).
Does your GoXLR work directly with your PS5 or is it via a capture into a PC? I'd need more info about how your stream works / set up works before I could try and help here (sorry!).
Hope you sort it - happy to help if you can provide more details.
