    Hey man I really appreciate these videos, is there anyway you can help me? I followed all your videos with setting up goxlr mini and this video. Everything works great except for when the Bluetooth headphones die, I'm screwed. You can't just connect wired headphones now because you get no sound through it because the whole thing is set up for the wireless, so I paired another Bluetooth headset with it so I can switch between those two when one dies. But when I put the second pair on it says connected and I can play the test button in here sounds yet nowhere else can I hear sounds, no screaming no music no RUclips nothing.

  • @Turbo_David

    Hey @MachineDaena we had someone come to the TC-Helicon discord saying they watched this video. I want to say that the windows sound settings you mention here are incorrect for this setup. You should not be setting line in as a default device in windows. It would be chat mic as it would be with any other setup. Just wanted to clear that up. 2ndly your gate needs a bit of love as your mic kept cutting in/out in this video. Lower your gate threshold a bit and make sure for a more natural sound to lower your attenuation to about 90%

    • @MachineDaena
      @MachineDaena  3 года назад

      Hey dude, thanks for visiting and the feedback. I replaced the SH55 with the SM7B and that made a big difference but I’ve also since tweaked the attenuation which has helped!
      I use Line In as default and it’s worked perfectly for me, save for one issue I had with one game that needed it to be Chat as the default. Changing it to chat made no difference other than to enable proxy chat in that game (Rust). That was an issue specifically for Rust because of the lack of ability to specify device within Rust game options (it just uses Windows default by default).
      But I do mention in the video specifically for people to try BOTH Chat and Line In out, so the video is still perfectly valid - it’s had a lot of views and some good feedback so far.
      All the best dude, and keep up the good work!

    • @MachineDaena
      @MachineDaena  2 года назад

      You could easily turn off the microphone into your headset using the Routing tab. Just make sure the “mic” across the top of the table is not checked under your “headset” (along the left).
      It’s normal for there to be a slight latency but it shouldn’t be one second, so it could also be an error of some sort but it may not be noticeable only stream if you’re not listening to your own voice!

    • @MachineDaena
      @MachineDaena  Год назад

      You’re welcome, glad it helped! It’s most likely that your mic is picking up your speakers / headset or something like that. Or that you’ve duplicated the source somehow.
      Try playing around with the mic gate to rule out the first issue (set the gate higher so quiet sounds aren’t picked up) and check all your sources / settings to ensure nothing has been duplicated.

    So you have to have the Line In hardware to do this? I have the same headset and a fullsize GoXLR, but don't have the Line In piece for my PC. And also do I not plug my headset into the GoXLR mic port, and just plug it into the Line in Hardware connected to my PC? That part seemed to be missing from this vid.

    • @MachineDaena
      @MachineDaena  3 года назад

      Hi - thanks for tuning in. I focus mainly on the GoXLR mini here but the set up should be broadly the same for the large, just that the ports are in different locations on the GoXLR versions.
      Did you manage to get it working? I can’t tell if you’re trying to correct the vid in comparison to your set up, or if you need (or are asking for) further help?
      The point of a wireless headset is that it shouldn’t need to be connected to any device other than over wireless / Bluetooth. The method I show enables that to happen, with no direct wired connection to any device.
      The Virtuoso does have a mic jack output, and that can be physically connected to the GoXLR (or your PC), but that would do two things that reduce the benefit of the GoXLR / Virtuoso - 1) means headset is wired instead of wireless, and 2) The mic on the Virtuoso is not going to be anywhere near as good quality as a connected XLR mic.
      Let us know how you get on dude! Happy to help.

    • @MachineDaena

      Hey dude, thanks for watching. Wow that’s quite a complicated set up you want there but you should be able to add another source into your StreamLabs / OBS studio for the headset mic too, only problem is duplication of audio when they’re both active so you’ll need to toggle between the two to avoid this! Try adding two mic sources to your streaming software and see how it goes! Keen to know of this works or not!

      The same thing has been happening with me and I’ve have no idea what it is. I don’t think it’s to do with the two PC set up, I have a feeling it might be to do with AI sound controlling via maybe ASUS but each time I try deleting programs or getting to the bottom of it, it doesn’t disappear. Thankfully for me I’ve learnt to live with it, as it’s fairly rarely that it happens. I wonder whether it’s the GoXLR software or something else like ASUS Armoury Crate conflicting with each other

    A bit of a silly question but, I got a wireless headset and used this tutorial to set it up and it worked just fine! However the headset stopped working and I had to return to my old wired pair until I could get a replacement but now no audio is coming through my headphones at all? I tested to see if it was just the headset on another divice and they still work how they had before. And the audio is working as I'm watching the meter go up and down on the goxlr. Would you happen to know what might be causing this? Thanks in advance.

      Hey, thanks for watching - and sorry for the delayed response.
      If you managed to get it working the first time following the steps, that means it works! But sometimes Windows and/or the GoXLR (usually Windows....) will change the settings, particularly if you've added new USB devices or new devices that have an audio channel (like a monitor, etc)
      It's an annoying little Windows quirk!
      So If you managed to get it working the first time, I'd definitely recommend repeating the process from start to finish! It definitely doesn't seem from your comment that it's an issue with your headset -re more of an issue with windows settings changing.
      Best of luck with it :)

    @MachineDaena I am wondering about what you said at 7:55. Why exactly does checking or unchecking the Mic under input make no difference? I cannot hear myself unless I enable "listen to this device" through Windows. However, from what I understand, the Windows setting has longer latency so it takes longer to hear instant feedback from your mic. The GoXLR app is meant to be much faster, but it will NOT give me any feedback whether it is checked or unchecked.

    • @MachineDaena
      @MachineDaena  3 года назад +1

      Hey dude - there’s a few set up vids out there for multi-pc rigs on GoXLR but basically it depends how you’ve set up your rig. Most people have PC1 doing everything (gaming, Discord, Spotify etc) except for streaming, and then PC2 does only streaming. If that’s your rig then you would 3.5mm jack line from GoXLR line OUT, to line IN on PC1, and then to get sound into OBS Studio or SLOBs (or whatever you use on PC2) you would Line OUT of PC1 into Line IN on PC2. The USB connection from GoXLR would go into PC1.
      Then you could use the BROADCAST STREAM MIX as literally just a single sound source in PC2 OBS software.

    • @MachineDaena
      @MachineDaena  2 года назад

      Hey dude, thanks for watching. Glad it *sort of* worked! Assuming your headset isn’t broken in any way, this sounds like it’s more than likely not a GoXLR issue, but a headset config issue. In windows settings (the ones I show in the video) you can check properties for surround sound, plus you may also have settings in the software from your headset provider (eg for me iCue from Corsair has surround sound settings).
      Unfortunately with stuff like this, a lot of it is trial and error, and researching online 😫
      Rule out that it’s a faulty ground loop by trying it without the ground loop. If it does the same thing, then you know it’s not that.
      From memory I don’t think there’s any surround sound settings within the GoXLR app but it’s worth checking the software there too!

    This video has helped me out so much but I have one problem and that is when playing sounds.
    When I play music or play games I can hear the sound clearly but when using the faders and when it comes to a certain point the sound can jump loud or quiet but this only happen when using the wireless headphones.
    When using the wireless headphones directly to the wireless receiver there is no problem but doing this set up in the video some times the sound can jump high or low depending on what sound is playing.
    E.g playing a game like a shooter I can walk and it’s quiet to the point I can not hear people walking around me but as soon as some one shoots the sound just jumps up very loud then a sec later it drop back low again.
    I have changed the aux cable from the GOXLR to the PC and it’s the same. I hardware the headphones to the GOXLR front and it’s perfect but I would like for it to be wireless.
    Is there any other recommendations you think I could do to get this fix?
    Again great video ☺️

    • @MachineDaena
      @MachineDaena  2 года назад +2

      Hey, thanks for watching! I have exactly the same problem exactly as you’ve described it, and I’ve honestly tried everything to try and fix it including getting a replacement wireless headset.
      I think it’s either a windows bug, or more likely, a bug with the GoXLR software.
      It could also be AI sound adjustments from ASUS Armoury Crate but I fiddled with the settings / uninstalled that and it still did the same thing for me.
      I honestly just managed to learn to live with it (it happens quite rarely for me these days). But you can turn up or down the headset within the GoXLR to adjust to the sound- it’s not a fix but it does mitigate the issue.
      GoXLR should investigate this as it’s annoying AF and is happening with other people too.

      Thank you so much for the reply back just to know you fully understand what I mean just made my day lol. I have also done what you have said as well and it’s the same outcome I even try the TC Helicon discord but no luck but I do think you are right I feel it’s more of the Windows side as when I plug the the headset directly to the GOLXR there is no problem but doing it the wires way that’s when the problem happens.
      So what I have done now is (using the music for example) put the fader for music right up so it’s at its max and then with in the windows sound software turn down the sound with in windows and turn it down to the area I know where it would just about jump high or low.
      Doing this would make a “cap” on the fader so I can turn it down or up using the fader with out it jumping high or low but also doing this would not make the music be able for it to be it’s loudest but where it jump for me is just at the point where it’s just below 72% of the volume before it plays up so to the fader it’s at 100% but to windows I have only used up to 70% of the max volume I have used.
      This has helped a lot so I make sure to use for example Spotify only work with the music fader and I know it will not jump as much when using the fader as it can only be caped at 70% because of what windows is letting it have.
      I do hope later this is something windows can fix.
      Thank you again for the reply and again great video.
