To make it more simple to explain the game General Scales was controlled by Andross and since Andross saw Fox with General Scales he took away the last of the Krazoa spirit and use it to fully revive himself once again since he was just a brain and at the beggining Krystal saw him and he was not showned to keep it a mystery
Man, both tests remain in my memory as some of the most difficult moments in my gaming experiences, it was very frustrating! Specially the Test of Fear, man, I really really struggled with that shit, I had to convince myself I was a fearless bastard in order to complete pass it! Of course I was 11 at the time so the fearless bastard part didn't stick too long, but anyway, fun game!
Exactly, it would've been nice to go against him in melee combat for at list a little bit before the cutscene! It's especially funny because if you don't take out your staff then the cutscene isn't activated so its just Scales walking into you lmao

Apparently there was originally supposed to be a full-on General Scales fight and that's where Falco was supposed to come back, but with Microsoft acquiring Rare, they basically had to rush-finish the game, and as a result, the General Scales fight was canned for that crappy cutscene.

Well, when we first started the game, me and my bro, we were like 7-8 years old, I didn't really understand english at the time so I had no freaking idea what I was doing. We did 30-40% of the game. 7 years later I found the game again in my vacation house so I played but I get stuck at the first Volcano Point. Summer after, I finally understood how to open the door. I played a lot and get until where you are on the big bird and you have to destroy the 4 towers. I gave up. Last summer, by miracle, I destroyed the towers. I was so ready to beat the crap out of that big lizard and the monkey showed up and beat the crap out of me. And I just decided that I didn't care, I won the game anyway. So yeah, that's why it took me so long.
Apparently in the early stages of the game Drakor was meant to have a much bigger role as the main antagonist, but they deemed it would make the plot too confusing and wrote Andross as the primary antagonist.
Also in my opinion, it would have been better for the player to fight Scales, but as he's lying on the ground dying, he mutters "you will regret this" before releasing the final spirit, making the player wonder what he meant.
The Krazoa Test of Fear is still the only part I haven't beaten. I've been bailed out and finished the rest, but I cannot do that damn spirit to save my life and I'm a grown man now

it's because the game originally had nothing to do with Star Fox, but was altered to become one after Miyamoto noticed the similarities between Fox McCloud & the original lead character Saber. Krystal was also initially meant to have a larger role, with the ability to swap between her & Saber throughout the game. Can't complain too much though, Krystal is my favorite Star Fox character :P

It always bothered me how Galdon and Drakkor have their name spelled before fighting them, but not King Redeye. It seems like he was added late in development. Also, I didn't remember that Galdon looked that good. The lightning and details are amazing. He could almost pass as a boss from a Xbox360 game.

IMO, 64 had the best bosses, SNES had the best music, AND SNES also had the best stages, oh also 64 had the best dialogue. I like Adventures though.
