My paternal grandmother was born in Macau and married my grandfather in Guangzhou. I have relatives in Macau, HK, Guangzhou, Shanghai and different cities of USA. I’ve been to Macau in 2001 right after the handover from Portugal. My paternal uncle (my father’s cousin) was a senator in the 1999 handover ceremony in Macau. If you watch the handover ceremony in 1999 and the inauguration ceremony, you can see a tall and slim male with gray hair. That is my paternal uncle. When we were in Macau visiting my paternal relatives, there weren’t as many casinos. Now they added more casinos. The food is still Cantonese cuisine but with some Portuguese twist, such as the Portuguese egg tart (a little sweeter than the Cantonese egg tart version).
This area is not a colony. In fact, the Ming Dynasty and Portugal were once an alliance to deal with pirates in the South China Sea. This place was given to Portugal as a reward by the emperor at the time.

It is also worth while visiting some smaller cities if you want to get the whole picture of China, but be warned it could be challenging because potentially less people speak English there. Typically bigger cities and coastal cities in the south and east of China are more developed and wealthier, cities inland especially in the north and west are typically industrial cities and less developed, but the infrastructure would be similar. Inland cities like Zhengzhou, Shenyang, Chengdu and Changsha are also good choices (first two more typical inland cities, last two are inland cities with better developed tourism).

@@justwonders-w7w Las Vegas is all hype. It is full of homeless, drug addicts, criminals and money launderers and its filthy except inside of the hotels. Just came across this set of videos for first time, after spending a few years watching other vloggers. Very impressed with the excellent presentation and you're so positive and friendly with local people etc and trying new things. We were in Macao last December and were amazed by the place and visited that hotel, just for a coffee, which was good. I didn't realise the price for a room was quite as reasonable, as we'd visited an hotel in Sanya (just for coffee) which was over 2000 yuan per night. Guess this was how Marco Polo reacted when he went to China, in 13th Century.
Las Vegas has the same thing but I bet you won’t call it “fake Paris hotel” it’s called the Macau Parisian hotel, why do you feel the need to call it fake Paris hotel? You need to work of your western programming it’s really cringe.
What a wonderful meet up with Steve and Ivana in Macau and trying the famous milk pudding. An awesome walk about in beautiful Macau city center and the old fort. I have a good laugh when you, Ken said that back in Germany, canon will be full of trash 😅 Another great experience, trying some luck at the casino. Ken, l think that white piece of thing from that Taiwanese minced pork rice is pickled radish. Hope to see you travel to Taiwan soon. Wow, such a lovely night view from your room balcony. Thanks, Ken for always having great content. You show us so much and you teach us so much. I always love ❤️ your amazing videos. Keep it up, Ken 💪🫰💞
Room is certainly vey nice. But, somehow, I was expecting it to just blow my mind; it doesn't seem to. I was thinking of hotels in Quebec or Banff. The $150 charge it rather inexpensive. Looks very hazy. Is that fog or smog? Great vid, as usual.
Your videos are very interesting!😃 I've watched almost all the videos about China today haha. My hometown is Zhengzhou, Henan Province, China, which is also the birthplace of the most famous Chinese Kung Fu, maybe you've heard of "Shaolin Temple"? Haha, you are welcome to visit Henan Province, I can entertain you!💗
There's nothing "fake" about the Parisian Hotel in the same way there isn't anything fake about the Brandenburg Gate in your native Germany, even though it's a copy the Propylaea of the Acropolis in Athens, Greece. The hotel is owned by Las Vegas Sands (which has a similar property in Vegas); replicating famous monuments is not unique to China, yet the term "fake," driven by racist stereotypes, is only associated with China in the westerner's mindset.
I've watched many videos taken from you about China and they were really interesting and informative. I think I could make up my mind to go back to my own country and make it even more beautiful. I was in south part of Germany and I was shocked by the travelling experience close to Lindau and Friedrichshafen, where these were all quite beautiful cities with Alps as backgrounds and Bodensee. High Tech places + Nature, wish me I can do that and make that happen also in China.
Love this 😂. I lived in Las Vegas for a long time and their Eiffel Tower is pretty cool. I can’t wait to visit Macau to compare 😍 (Edited because I thought you were at a different fake Eiffel Tower, haha)
Ken - The yellow thing is daikon, it's a pickled radish that's quite common in Japanese food, but popular in Taiwanese cuisine also (due to Japan's occupation, and thus influence over its cuisine). (interesting videos btw!)
Nice video Ken BUT the use of "fake Paris ... " is kinda derogatory. it is just a scale down replica of the Eiffel tower..Replicas of world monuments or other landmarks can be found around the world.
Hey Ken, big fan of your content! 29:34 is actually a pickled daikon radish! It's not traditionally taiwanese, mostly found in Japanese or Korean foods.
Pickled daikon radish醃蘿卜 is a traditional Chinese food. It is also the technique of Chinese food. Only ancient China has this food. Today "fake"Japanese and Korean food are mixed with traditional Chinese food and other countries. Traditional Japanese food is only fresh seafood, sushi, and (white rice and noodles with Chinese food). Traditional Korean food is only fresh seafood. (White rice and kimchi is Chinese food).
WOW... These are excellent journeys... I am in a wheel chair so can not make these trips sadly... I was in Vietnam for the war as a Marine... what a time there... at least I survived,,,
I don’t follow your channel for long now and I want to travel to China myself. So I have a question: How do you afford this? Like for me the holiday times wouldn’t allow this.
8:48 The beds in China are traditionally hard but I wouldn’t necessarily assume it would be so there! Good to know. As others said, it’s more of a Paris-themed hotel than a fake version of the city itself… it’s cool to see that besides the bed, the quality seems the same as in Vegas! Appreciate this video & the transparency about paying for the view.
When you sleep on a soft mattress, your body may sink too deeply into the surface, causing your spine to curve unnaturally. This can lead to back pain, muscle stiffness, and joint discomfort. But if you are already suffering from back pain, then a soft mattress do provide more relief for these people. People who sleep on their stomach and back tends to prefer firm bed and those who sleep on their sides, soft bed.
The yellow stuff is the “Radish “, Japanese call it “Daikon “, they pickled it and dyed it into yellow color, it’s very popular in Japan and Korea, so as in any Japanese restaurant in Taiwan and China.
Ken, your friend is misinformed. And I quote Culture Trip, “The original structure was made of wood, which burned down in a fire during a typhoon in 1835.” So the church was not destroyed by a storm. (23:15)
The yellow food item, that’s pickled radish. It’s kinda like an appertiser as most ppl find sourish food improve their appetite. Also common in japanese cuisine I love Tsingtao. Tsingtao has its history as a german beer, but of course over the years the taste has been updated. But I still love it

Let me explain why there are so many police in Xinjiang, because history has left a very tragic experience for the people of Xinjiang, because terrorists have been active in Xinjiang before, they have planned and killed many innocent people. If you are traveling in Xinjiang, no matter which country you are from, when you encounter a police officer asking you or checking your ID, please do not feel that you are being violated and restrained, because most of the time the police do not want to deal with foreign tourists because if he knows that if he checks your personal ID, it will make people from many countries feel uncomfortable, as if their human rights have been violated, but they continue to do what they have to do because they want to ensure your safety. The big cities in Xinjiang are very safe, but in some The public security in very remote areas is very backward. The police question you about your ID first to make sure you are not a criminal because there are too many Western journalists who go to Xinjiang to report and deliberately smear with bad intentions. Secondly, they have to register your information to ensure your personal safety. If you disappear in a place or encounter danger, the manager in charge of this area will be in big trouble. He does not want you to have any safety problems within his area of responsibility until you go to the next area. Finally, I want to say that the people of every country do not like their own government 100%. I admit that many ridiculous things have happened in China regarding human rights, and maybe there are still some now, but it is slowly getting better.
Another impressive video. Hey Ken, did you taste Germen in your first "Chinese beer"? In fact, that beer was more Germen than Chinese. It should taste Germen lager 100 years ago.

Inland cities like Zhengzhou, Shenyang, Chengdu and Changsha are also good choices (first two more typical inland cities, last two are inland cities with better developed tourism).
Hi,! Ken, I agree with you, last Friday and Saturday, I also stayed in the hotel Parisan😂😂❤
Macau brings in 28 billion in revenue. Vegas only brings in 6 billion.
Paris hotel in vegas: themed hotel
Paris hotel in macau: FAKE hotel
😂
Imagine if America did this with lots of world monuments and put them all in the Nevada desert!
Seems to be great episode, going to watch 😊
lovely, takes me back in time when i visited Las Vegas, :-), stayed in Excalibur Hotel, nice one if you are going there in the future :-). thanks for the info and the tour . :-)
I believe you hardly got this kind of hotel in Germany.
Not at all. Not even USA, Las Vegas is hype. With homeless, crime drugs, money laundering, and it's filthy too.
Not even in America
@@DK-ev9dgdont forget las vegas
@@justwonders-w7w Las Vegas is all hype. It is full of homeless, drug addicts, criminals and money launderers and its filthy except inside of the hotels. Biggest drawback of Las Vegas is it's not family oriented compared to Macau. Families dominate Macau. Families with young kids don't go to Las Vegas may be very few.
Don’t go to Chiina!
Foreigner will be put into jail if you say
Taiiwan passport or Taiiwan president1
Las Vegas also has a Paris Casino/Hotel with a 1/2 scale replica of the Eiffel Tower. This Casino/Hotel in Macau was funded by Las Vegas Sands, an American company.
Would you use "fake" on the Eiffel Tower in Las Vegas in the US?
We all know he wouldn’t. Typical westerner behaviour 🙄
@@melize7035typical RUclips non westerner chst from you, lumping everyone together from the west and saying ‘typical behaviour’. Good one. Yeah Icelandic people are so similar to people from Kentucky. You’re the problem,
Just another misleading stereotypical RUclips title to attract views…
Bruh that's what everyone calls it. Same with the one in Tokyo...
sehr gutes Video! Das Essen, das du fragst ist gewürzte Rübe.😊 das gibt es in Deutschland nicht, aber super lecker, hoffe es gefällt dir 😀 beste Gruesse aus einer Chinesin die seit langem in Deutschland lebt :)
Interesting. There are some fake hotels in Las Vegas as well. Paris, New York, Venetian
all owned and operated by Sands
@@yunlongli2771 good to know. Thanks
Reminds me of the Marriott I stayed in Jakarta Indonesia
That room is for poor people, not ordinary Chinese!
😅 just a normal room, why u say that?
Hi Ken try the rice pudding with strawberry or another jam in it it tast even better
The trio🎉🎉🎉
Jacques-Louis David, The Coronation of Napoleon, 1805-07, oil on canvas, 621 x 979 cm (Musée du Louvre, Paris)
This city is way better than Paris
Ken, I am a friend from Jiangxi, China. I like your videos very much. They are real and interesting
Thank you 🙏
Thx for sharing
Room is certainly vey nice. But, somehow, I was expecting it to just blow my mind; it doesn't seem to. I was thinking of hotels in Quebec or Banff. The $150 charge it rather inexpensive. Looks very hazy. Is that fog or smog? Great vid, as usual.
29:36 This is pickled with turnip,腌黄萝卜
Your videos are very interesting!😃 I've watched almost all the videos about China today haha. My hometown is Zhengzhou, Henan Province, China, which is also the birthplace of the most famous Chinese Kung Fu, maybe you've heard of "Shaolin Temple"? Haha, you are welcome to visit Henan Province, I can entertain you!💗
Didn't manage to try the Portugese egg tart? You can also get that in HK and Malaysia where there was some Portugese influence.
Thank you for showing Macau.
Xinjiang tour vlog is over?
BETTER than Paris, France! No dog poop, No rude frenchies, NO crime!
it’s not fake. it has the proper license to build the replica of EF tower
Love this 😂. I lived in Las Vegas for a long time and their Eiffel Tower is pretty cool. I can’t wait to visit Macau to compare 😍
(Edited because I thought you were at a different fake Eiffel Tower, haha)
😊also in Chinese foods, like pickled cucumber, mustard head
Pickled daikon radish醃蘿卜 is a traditional Chinese food. It is also the technique of Chinese food. Only ancient China has this food.
Today "fake"Japanese and Korean food are mixed with traditional Chinese food and other countries.
Traditional Japanese food is only fresh seafood, sushi, and (white rice and noodles with Chinese food).
Traditional Korean food is only fresh seafood. (White rice and kimchi is Chinese food).
@@barbiebarbie1813 I believe so
This hotel looks like a royal palace.
China probably offers the best value for money. Especially for travellers.
There's another bigger Eiffel Tower in another city in China which is based on Paris called Hangzhou
Thank you for bringing me back some old memories when I visited Macau back in 2002! I love that little charming city ❤!
If you ever get a chance to stay in the Wynn tower suites in Las Vegas, you'll be very happy.
房间真小,不像豪华房间
the milk pudding is my fav as well! There have to be two layers of “milk skin” made from the boiled milk cooling down
8:48 The beds in China are traditionally hard but I wouldn’t necessarily assume it would be so there! Good to know.
As others said, it’s more of a Paris-themed hotel than a fake version of the city itself… it’s cool to see that besides the bed, the quality seems the same as in Vegas!
Appreciate this video & the transparency about paying for the view.
Chinese people prefer harder beds to soft ones because the former are kind of ergonomic, preventing your back from sagging all night. :)
Also common in japanese cuisine
I love Tsingtao. Tsingtao has its history as a german beer, but of course over the years the taste has been updated. But I still love it
They have that Paris theme hotel in Las Vegas also
But they won’t call it fake, only if it’s done by Chinese then it will be fake.
@@MRT-co1sd the one in Vegas is also fake
@@Seanney25582he meant all Westerner vlogger won't be calling those is fake but anything that built or make by Chinese especially this hotel(clearly named Parisian Macau hotel) is called fake/copy.
Since his XJ video, the way he presenting seem to go south. Picturing the patrol car as if he were in Middle East.
When fake paris is better than real paris.
Ken, the real Taiwanese “braced pork rice “ is quite different from what you have eaten, it’s color of the pork should be much darker.
Another impressive video. Hey Ken, did you taste Germen in your first "Chinese beer"? In fact, that beer was more Germen than Chinese. It should taste Germen lager 100 years ago.
It’s Tsingtao beer青岛啤酒. And the city Qingdao青岛 was a German colony before WWI. Guess that’s why.
Do you call all those China Town throughout the world fake China Town? Or Japanese garden outside Japan fake Japanese garden ? Give me a break.
Give him a break.
Why so sensitive? Just relax you psycho, you're making Chinese people look bad if you get so triggered over such minor things.
I like your video. Thanks.
❤❤❤❤
Glad to see the room is a decent size. In Vegas, the nicest casinos often have the tiniest rooms because they want you to go elsewhere and gamble 😂
There's aother " Fake Paris hotel in Las Vegas ! ! and you don't know these 2 hotels are own by the same casino company ! ! ??
Caesars Entertainment owns both Paris hotels in Vegas and Macau. MGM has big casino in Macau too.
I am glad you found the chicken no probs...chicken experience!😂😂❤
XDDDD laugh out loud moment when Ken goes searching for a Chicken! for the first 5 mins..... i had subtitles on and Ken had a 40min chicken experience
correct me if I was wrong, some of the hotels are buffet included, you can eat for free of you went into the casino there
