Ken, are you in Indonesia right now?
Such cold temperatures can be imagined in ancient times. Why the nomads are so obsessed with going south. Without food, the population and livestock were decimated by the low temperatures
The cold is unbearable, rather than unhandable.
Yes, it does happen here in Kiruna, Sweden ✌️
Next visit inner Mongolia
Good for you for surviving -40 degrees!!!!👏👏👏
身体怎么样了?
@@alessiii58 bro your pfp😅
it was -24 not -40... big big difference
though it does get that and below in Ulaanbaatar.
Hi Ken.
1. That photographer at the square telling you names of the other khans around Chinggis khan.
2. That market has much more interesting stuff to see and buy. But I understand it was too cold explore more.
Also those yellow berries are called Chatsargana or Seabuckthorn. Indigenous to Mongolia and Southern Siberia. It’s a fatty, sour and tangy berry packed with lot of vitamins and antioxidants.
3. That dumpling most likely to have a mutton.
4. That supermarket looked kinda small and lacks variety of items.
5. Germany is one of the biggest trade partners of Mongolia. Has been trading for about 60 years. Thus the variety of German brands you see there.
7. Yes that fried noodle is one of the most common dishes in Mongolia. It’s eaten throughout the year.
Thanks for explaining 🙏
@@KenAbroad Yeah but that's not actually noodle. We call that food tsuivan but if it's with soup then it's guriltai shul which basically means soup with flour. Because it's made out of just flour. For us, there is a different dish with noodles (not really traditional). If you google Tsuivan it would say that it's made with noodles, but that's not true.
Our traditional dish doesn't usually use goiman (noodles). More likely to use just flour, meat, and dairy products. And we don't use spices or soy sauce stuff like that. Modern young people might add or eat foreign food. But traditionally we don't use sauces like other East Asian countries.
I like tsuivan. But somehow the most well known Mongolian dish here is Mongolian chicken, which I have not seen in Mongolia.
@hann659 where? In Germany? Or are you mongolian too? That's probably a fake chinese dish, and people would just name it mongolian. Like mongolian BBQ. We don't even use soy sauce. We don't have enough chicken for us to consume like that.
Thanks for travelling to Ulaanbaatar in the intense cold to show us a great city and the wonderful Mongolian people. Шинэ Зеландаас Монголд мэндчилж байна ✌️
Great and interesting sharing. Thank you Ken. 👍👍👍😍😍😍
So interesting Mongolia! Thanks for sharing.

What a fantastic and amazing trip to Mongolia, Ken. THANK YOU for taking me/us along on your journey. Am happy to see and learn more about this country thru' your eyes. Excellent video, incredible content as always. Keep up the GREAT work, Ken. Thanks again.
Are you talking about Mongolia, the country that only writes Russian and Russian? If it is, it's not great.
Mongolians speak Mongolian. Go away chinese bot. Stop Spreading misinformation around here.
Loved seeing Mongolia through Ken's lens! He's been one of my inspirations for starting to share my own travel adventures here on RUclips. I aspire to take people with me on journeys, just like Ken does.
Ken, keep up the GREAT work!💪🏻
Bonjour . quelle intéressante vidéo. Merci beaucoup. Et bon courage
Thank you for visiting Mongolia. I wish you the best of luck on your journey.
Great video, coldest place i have visited is Iceland in the winter, can definitely sympathise with your experience with your hands.
Germany is a cold country too, but when a German guy say it's very cold here, then Mongolia must really be the coldest of the cold.
I believe due to lack of coasts being a very dry country and in high altitude the cold hits harder, I believe, it is the same cold, same temperature but more dry and more windy so you can feel the cold damaging your body, while in the north it is more of a silent killer (I think)
less snowy tho
It’s amazing bro
Tolles Video! Ich habe gerade deinen Kanal abonniert.
Ken, you are so brave for traveling under these conditions. You will never catch me there for sure. I actually don't like to travel during the winter. The luggage just becomes too bulky. Thanks for sharing your experience with us.
Very interesting video on Ulan Bataar especially Mongolia a country where not enough people Ytube. Thank you Ken.
Wow very nice video ❤❤❤
Another awesome country shared today. Wow, really, really cold. Ken, u r exploring this great country which I m looking forward to watch. Tqvm.
Thanks for watching 😊
It's freezing cold at -40'C, let's have a cold beer! Lol Thanks for sharing though, looking forward to your Mongolia series!😂😂😂
Intersting!!!
Discovered your channel during your Philippines' series. I really like watching vlogs about non-touristy countries, same with touristic ones, there is always beauty in every country to be discovered. Thanks for this video, about Mongolia, been curious about this not well travelled place as it is my dream to see everything. Although I've only been to two countries outside of my own, am looking forward and hoping to travelling in the future.
I have family members who spent 8 years in Mongolia. This was really interesting. Thank you!
always love your videos like how you commit to do what every locals do to showcase what's the typical daily life
💯✨
Thanks for the trip in ulaan bataar
又是一段奇妙的旅行,跟着Ken游世界
Now i know gut and gunsting means good and cheap 😅 i like cracks from this Germany’s brand. Thank you for visiting our country. Hope you had warmth memories even temperature is freezing cold 😊🤩 come back again during summer 😊
I have great memories from Mongolia 😊
Amazing!
Excellent video I would like to go on a food tour there. I hope you can go to Yakutsk one day.
I am quite surprised that you felt that weird "enjoyment" of the cold. The Mongols get that craving, I am really missing the cold as I am far away my country. It is so refreshing and energizes you.
Ken if it gets too cold l will come keep you warm🤗
Didn't expect you to go this far into the north ! ! ! Dont forget the lamb feast😁😁😁
The guy in the square wanted to introduce you the other statues apart from Genghis Khan, like General Mukhulai, Ögedei Khan and Kublai Khan.
Welcome to Kiruna, Sweden next January. Not very exotic but you can test your winter skills 😆
they should design a special system to replace those fridges and freezers in the supermarket during winter. It is so funny to see them using electricity while it is so cold outside.
The building behind the Chinggis khans statue is the parliament house. The orange berry is called seabuckthorn in english. Very sour but nutritious berry full of vitamin C.
Hi Ken! I grew up in Chicago USA so like you, I can tolerate cold weather. But I don’t think we ever got to -40°F. I just kept thinking that you should have a scarf because any exposed skin will get frostbite in a very short amount of time. But I really enjoyed this video. Mongolia is one of those countries that’s a little bit mysterious to outsiders. I love that you take us into grocery stores and show us the prices. I’m looking forward to my next video. ❤️
Hello Ken very enjoyable video, thank you.
Would love to expose you to Papua New Guinea on a medical outreach
Yeah great I love Mongolia music it's good than others 😂😂😂
Sir sir ken i love you vlogs coz of your speed 😂😂😂 very clear English in earphone
Yes, i can. Winter in Ontario. Minus 40 Celsius in winter. Manageable with heat tech.
This channel is getting interesting 👌.
Definetly👍
Feeling cold 🥶 already watching you from Malaysia 😂
Pls take us to yakutia.
Ooh the land of the eternal blue sky, Mongolia ❤️ I've been there last year in May. I was in awe of the steppes, and the sand dunes of the Gobi desert. The people, the culture, the food - it was everything. I miss it. I'm planning to come back this summer. 😎
Sees Mongolian winter weather, instantly understands why the Mongols were always trying to invade China to the south. 😆
Hello ken good evening watching you
Good evening 🙏
That’s my favourite fried noodle. I love it❤️🫰
Greetings from the kalahari desert 👋
in mongolia there currency is small value compare dollar. but food also is pricey. mask and gloves is a good protection against cold and jacket.. moreover is a great travel thanks Ken
The Taxi driver is took you to the city cheaper bro and that dish is called Tsuivan which is the most famous dish in Mongolia.
❤️ YOOOO! Nice video!!! I a Small Struggling Travel Channel and you really inspire me to make better content 😌 Thank you!
Bus driver avoided conversation your exactly right😂
20:36 Ken, you should buy a larger mask in that market where you bought gloves, to cover both nose and chin at the same time 😄
23:54 Just a little english correction . Flavor is taste of a food or drink , what you meant to say is Scent which is the smell of something 🙌🏼 Happy travels ken
Wild Carlos appeared
Hello, no more videos in XinJinag? would you go to China again later?
I once live for 2.5 years in Canada. Some days -37 during winter
🥶
My beautiful wife was born in UB & lived there most of her life before moving to Australia with me. She finds winter in Sydney cold now! 😮😂
Extreme climate😨🥶
I want to visit cold countries in the future as well as someone who's coming from a tropical country
man, your vlogs gives unique vibes, love from India 🤩
Greetings to India 🙏 planing to visit soon!
@@KenAbroad please come to Chennai, Tamilnadu
We have same as dumpling but its mongolian and less dough more meat try them u like it 😊
oh man at the 29:00 you were sitting in front of the national library, a public place, you could have went in and ate the egg bread and left.
哇有意思
You should buy snow pants and wear a hood from your jacket. Also make sure your boots are at least one size bigger than your shoes
❤❤❤
Im excited know more about mongolia culture and food
There are shuttle buses goes to city on fixed schedules.
23:03 fun fact we call those big beers "Үнээ"-Unee meanig Cow cuz its big.
22:46 these kind of bottled beers are called "unee" or "cow" in Mongolia. When you gotta feed the whole squad but running low on budget, those are absolute lifesavers.
Beef or mutton fried noodle is a popular dish. The noodles should be softer, which means it freshly made. Store-bought noodles are usually hard or premade frozen ones.
Hiya Ken. I deliver frozen and chilled foods for a living and we have a freezer at work set at -25° It's so uncomfortable being in there for even short spells. Gives me a headache. Well done for getting new gloves 👏
Hope you're safe and well Mein Freund. 🇲🇳🏴🙏
🥶🥶 I wouldn't have survived that 😅
Definitely challenging 🥶😅
Why you going at this time? Omg… 😮 bravo to u
A Darwin Stubby refers to several large beer bottle sizes in Australia.
It was first introduced in April 1958 with an 80-imperial-fluid-ounce (2,270 ml; 76.9 U.S. fl oz) capacity.
The 2.25-litre (76.1 U.S. fl oz; 79.2 imp fl oz) Darwin Stubby has an iconic, if kitsch status in Australian folklore.
Stopped production in 2015
8:30 He said that statue is Boorch (Genghis Khan's general), Mukhulai (Genghis Khan's general), Khublai Khan (Genghis Khan's grandson, King of Yuan Dynasty), and Uguudei Khan (Genghis Khan's son, King of Great Mongolia).
I know what -24 feels like , I live in Manitoba. You are lucky there was no wind as it would have felt more like -40.
Maybe one day Ken will visit Iakoutsk, in Siberia 😅 the coldest village on earth.
I would LOVE to visit Mongolia but it would not be enjoyable in that weather! 😂
When I went to yakust, it was -62c their
I used to work at minus 30C in Alberta,,not much fun 😊
9:56 a BIG YAWWWWNNNNNNN
Dear Mr Ken Abroad.May I know when you want to come back in Malaysia again? I need to meet you when you visit in Malaysia. I hope you come back in Malaysia again 😊😊😊😊
That was extremely cold!
19:37 Mongolian dumplings have different flavors. Mongolian dumplings are not made with pork meat. Always consist of either sheep or beef meat. Korean or Chinese dumplings with pork.
5:19 it’s usually 2000 tugrugs for kilometer
8:15
Square Chingis Khan 2sides
Borche General
Muhulai General
Kubilai King
Ogoodoi King
Actually, Mongolia does not produce lot of goods, but on the other hand the imported product has so much variations. You can find lot of other Asian countries product such as from Korea Japan China etc, as well as from western countries easily even in a smaller local grocery stores, not to mention bigger supermarkets.
That Siberian cold goes straight to the bones
Wow this place is full of Toyota pruis
lol @ Ken. I do live where it gets -40f -40c it is where the temperature scales meet and "shake" hands. Just don't get caught by the wind. Stay warm.
Wow that taxi driver gave you a very good price. Less than the usual fare. Nice to see the rare honest taxi driver.
No bus service to downtown??
The man mumbled, pointing excitedly at the statues, "Those are Boorchi and Mukhulai, two of Chinggis Khan's nine great generals. And that's Uguudei, his son, and Kublai Khan, his grandson!" Tsuivan, the noodle dish he's eating, is a daily staple for locals. They cook it at least once a week.
-24 was around the lowest I did downhill skiing in... maybe a little above that (-22 or -23 Celsius)... not comfortable, but you can quite easily spend the whole day outside in that, though, going up on the open chairlifts was a little Freezing.
but that's if you are kind of adapted to winter... you see, a persons physiology very much changes... literally, if you are living in a cold climate your organs will start forming a special kind of fat that helps with maintaining body heat. your blood composition also changes, even the skincells will mutate to adapt to the climate.
