- This is the third video of an 8 day trip lure fishing for big pollack on the Outer Hebrides. The wind was blowing so we left the kayaks on the car and set off on foot to try and access a new pollack mark.

My thumbs up had blue tape around it in solidarity.
Gorgeous marks that just go on and on and on - and on.. Loads of pollack but nothing else?
Thanks for sharing another day in your adventure - cant wait for the next one. 🎣🐟🐟🐟
So, 9th July is forever known as National Pollack Thumb Day 😂
We caught a couple of mackerel but there seems to be no other main species like cod, there should be wrasse but we didn't target them. Tight lines LV
Eyup Nathan. I could cope with frustrated plans of that sort. Cheers! Dave.
Alreet Dave, think we scored well with the back-up mark. Tight lines!👍🎣
Loving these videos of your trip, you're living the dream up there. Cracking session this one, that bend in the rod had me convinced you had that double figure on.
Keep up the sterling work and don't forget to check your nut sack for ticks 😂😂😂😂
Very enjoyable viewing lads ! Thank you both.
Thank you for watching!
Brilliant! I nearly fell out of my wheel chair on the way down to that first mark, thank God I'd strapped myself in for those traverses. What a series Nate, the best out there.
Glad you stayed upright mate! And chuffed you're liking the series. Get In. Tight lines John
What a piece of catching! Outstanding weeks fishing. A great calibre of fish, I’m just amazed you didn’t get any proper biggies but for a first trip that’s not bad going.
Well worth a return I’d think, just maybe stay afloat so you don’t have to encounter any ticks!
Cheers
The average stamp is just unreal, I haven't experienced that sort of fishing anywhere else on my travels. We'll be going back at some point to get that elusive big'yin. Tight lines OB👍🎣
Top quality mate 👏 lovley place scotland is and you dont half get about it, and catch a bunch of fish hard work doesn't go un rewarded. Tight lines look forward to the next video mate 👍
Good Morning Nathan your drone footage was brilliant , what stunning place & the fishing was awesome , so take care both of you's , tight lines
Good Afternoon Steve, thank you as a always and tight lines👍🎣
A place where the fishing is as good as the scenery and landscape
Not often you get such a good combination
You picked a good mark there, a tight spot but everything straight infront of you is a gold mine of good fishing.
It defo made a good 2nd option after not making it to our primary target
great film,, ty 4 sharing
Glad you enjoyed it
Its nice when a plan comes together i know you're looking a double but that was belter of a session 👌 🐟
Shame the bigger fish didn't show, but you're right, it was a cracking session👍🎣
Hi that first mark...imagine you had a set of feathers and a beachcaster six at a time and a bit of hard work!
Cracking mate, looks like your living the dream.couldnt of timed it more perfect ,just cracked a beer,12 mins and it dropped.keep up the good work chaps, tight lines👊
I wouldn't go that far, nice to have a holiday outside of the usual day job...maybe one day. Hope you enjoyed the vid and more importantly your beer. Tight mate👍🎣
Hi nathan you ok pal, i got to give it you , you don't half put in the effort with all ya climbing n that. You well deserve a session like that mate. It looked amazing. All the best from GRIMSBY.
Quality as usual,, UK version of Giddos land based fishing 😂,, i had one of those wind knots the other week brand new braid didnt wet it first but i lost half the spool luckily i had enough to keep fishing ,, 👍
Cheers Bert! If only we had the quality of fish that he does. Yeah, they can be a pain when you end up cutting them out 🙄
Outstanding as per mate. Top fishing with unreal scenery. You should get out to Aus and collaborate with Guido fishing! He, like you, is also a maniac who is not scared of heights, or climbing either!!! Looking forward to the next Vid. Awesome. Tight lines man.
A collab with Guido would be unreal! Maybe one day🤞 Glad you liked the vid and tight lines👍🎣
Yet another cracking video Nathan you have got to get that double pollack soon looking at those marks your on i would be putting a float in those places are crying out big wrasse looking forward to the next one stay safe mate 👍
Thanks Stephen, glad you liked it. I wouldn't mind catching another double but it would be great if Lewis could get his first. Float fishing is a cracking idea and something i enjoy but don't do enough of. Tight lines mate👍🎣
Nathan please please take care on those marks mate as there's cod waiting for you in a few months 👍 I know you're experienced but hell some of that ledge hopping looks very sketchy and it's a long dive down! Brilliant series mate and can you do a bit of a review on your new century spinning rod please mate 👍 Tight lines and if you fancy a session with Danny logan micky and me in the winter I would love to meet up with you 👍
Cracking effort, lads! Watched this after a rock hopping exploration of marks near Brindisi - Torre di Torre Guaceto. Caught nowt but the sun. Saw a few long, thin predator looking types following g a top water though so going back early tomozzz.
Lovely to see; inspires me in my next adventure. Tight lines and get some ‘Itch’ collars for the wee terrier. And yourselves .. nasty lil’vampires, eh?
At least you got some sun! More than we get in blighty if we blank. Hope you get amongst them and tight lines G 👍🎣
The place looks like Pollack heaven Nathan, brilliant video. Thanks for posting, and good luck in your hunt for a big one.
That's the perfect description for it, no monsters but the average stamp is unreal! Tight lines👍🎣
11 out of 10 for effort Nathan buddy, awesome as always
Wish I could had those sort of marks at school 😂 Tight lines lads
@@SlippyLimpets me to lol
Fantastic guys 👍
I couldn't be anywhere near ticks like that, they terrify me.
Still looking forward to the trout... 🤣🎣 👍
Not long now till that trout!👍🎣
Loving your travels and fishing marra won't be the same back at foxton but mind them heights are no good for me ( even watching)😂
Haha I know, gonna feel a bit weird not having a fish a chuck! Glad you're liking them Josh and tight lines👍🎣
that rock out in front of you was loaded with pollock when i was there , i had the best luck jigging with the cheap lead painted sprat type lures , the big rock in the distance was very good too .👍
We thought they might be, they just looked too good. Did you get anything big or just a similar stamp to what we were getting from the shore?
@@SlippyLimpets I had a few between 5 and 7 but lost a couple of bigger ones , but loads between 2 and 4 .it would be worth seeing if one of the locals would take you out , people are really friendly there .I had been there for 4 weeks looking at the weather and the kayak on the roof of my motorhome, the wind would drop and the sea would be like glass then the wind would pick up again so I couldn't get it out , then they said take the work boat out so I managed to get out 3 times after work and had some fantastic sessions.i tried the kayak from the port next to kallin shellfish and from the eriskay Causeway but had no luck at all as there wasn't much depth of water .
the beaches of benbecula are supposed to hold tope in the summer but it was too windy when i went .
@@diggs345lr Yeah, I'd heard the same thing but was there a bit too early I think. I hear the turbot fishing is good too, I tried but blanked
Now that's a days fishing.
Loving your videos Nathan❤
Incredible adventure mate. Envious 👍
Thanks mate😊
another cracking video nathan...top notch as usual
Cheers matey, glad you liked it. Tight lines👍🎣
Were you using inline weighted ball shot jig heads with your soft rubber lures? Excellent accidentally spot as you tried for another first but looks like your doing just as good fish are coming thick and fast 😀
Stunning-looking water. Massive effort is paying off. Looking forward to the next one.
Great video, as usual. I'm a know-it-all critic. I'd love to find fault with your skills, and be all "You don't want to do it like that'... But I can't. You're clearly certifiable, but you're a very good angler, and an excellent film-maker. I look forward to your next escapade. :)
Well, I'm glad a passed the test Eddie 😊 Thanks for your kind words and glad you like the videos 👍🎣
Crackin video mate, keep plugging away and hopefully that big fish will come, you're in in the right place to catch one, and it's right what you say about the locals, i've always found them really friendly, looking forward to the next video already, tight lines 👍🎣
I hope so, Mark, there's just so many pollack that there's got to be a double digit knocking around. Tight lines🤞🎣
What a stunning place to be guys.some really nice fish being caught.some of those marks look so sketchy.loving your adventure and looking forward to more.tite lines as always nathan.
It is a stunning location with cracking fishing and the access isn't quite as bad as some of my more 'local' marks. Bit more remote though. Tight lines 👍🎣
What fantastic fishing I'm very jealous! However those edges would terrify me and I definitely couldn't fish there like you did. Be careful with those ticks, lyme disease can be very serious. One tip adjust the straps to position your rucksack higher up on your back you'll fid it much easier to carry with far less effort. You seemed to get on quite well as you were though. Loved those drone shots.
That wind knott happens to me usually just after I've loaded new line, even with doing the way recommended by people online it still happens.
It used to happen to me until I started using Tasline, that braid seems to be almost wind-knot proof. This time though, it looks like the line has spooled a little unevenly on the spool. I'll have to spool it again 🙁
God dammit slippy, unbelievable once again,I'm off to Skye in August,im praying I can catch even 10% of what you catch 😂pleasure to watch and learn as always, one of my favourite RUclipsrs by a mllion miles 🎣🎣🎣🎣
Thanks Gary🙌 Hope you have a great time on Skye👍🎣
Well done lads 🎣
cheers matey
Were you at eyemouth yesterday? Sure we seen your car reg at the golfy unless someone else is slippy
Yep, that was me.
Would love just short video showing which lures you have in your box to compare to mine, im the definition of all the gear but no idea 😂
I'm the same, I carry round loads of lures and normally only use 3 or 4. I'll see if I can slot a lure box vid in.
Nice one Nathan. Let’s hope the large one is at the next mark 🤞😊
Let's hope so Dave. Tight lines👍🎣
Excellent. Another inspiring video. Thank you Nathan.
Do you ever wish you had lighter or heavier gear or are you pleased/satisfied with the rod, reel, line etc you have been using on this trip?
Nice fishing...no climbing for anymore..
Each fish gives a good account of itself, Pollack usually do, do you ever hook wrasse on lures? I've seen John on his channel hook em but that's out at sea 🌊. I really enjoy your channel I'm sure I've said it b4 but it's cuz you fish marks the same as the ground I fish plus I've got my m8 to watch a few episodes to give him a bit more insight and he seems to understand a bit more each time.
Be careful of those tick bites, I got one with the classic bullseye rash about 15 years ago and it's caused all sorts of problems since.
My uncle had a similar issue with a tick bite, I'll be keeping a close eye on the 3 bites I had.
You guys will look back at this in 10-15 years and wonder how t-f we got down to them marks and what were we thinking, i used to fish dodgy rock marks without a care in the world but now, with age, comes many more "what ifs". Anyway well done lads, deserved a couple of doubles for the graft you's put in 👍
I already think that, but Lewis is 10 years younger than me so I keep forgetting about the 'what ifs' 😂 Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. 👍🎣
Blimey Nathan when you come back home it's going to look really dull after your adventures
Yeah, It's going to be hard adjustinh back to 'normal fishing'😂
Amazing place try scalpay bridge 🎣
Thanks for the tip, I'll give that a go next time round
Hi Nathan I got new sort plastic/rubber lures to try for Pollock at the cliffs in Arbroath to see if any there will let you know how I get on
I've heard the pollack fishing can be canny up there, hope you get amongst them Stewart👍🎣
@@SlippyLimpets Well I did a short on RUclips of the lures I got from my uncle they were out of Lidl’s if you have time can you please have a look at them and tell me what you think please as am trying to follow you’re footsteps into the land of Pollock fishing
Love them drone shots , wich is extra gear to carry 👏🎣
It is a few extra kg's but worth it for the content and checking out marks
Desperate to know where you are here, I'm from the Nw Highlands and don't recognise. Should be able to work it out with the calmac ferry and the lighthouse on the point.
Great video's , keep up the good work
The Google earth scene should help out too 😉 I'll give you a hint, it was on North Uist. Glad you like the vids and tight lines David👍🎣
@@SlippyLimpets got it😁 W.P.?
@@davidkennedy5421 that's the one. And I definitely was W by the time I got there 😂
@@SlippyLimpets I live in Northumberland these days, might see you in the rocks at some point 👍
Recently, the Met Office reported a massive spike in temperature, of those very waters you are fishing in. (I think 😊). I wonder if you noticed any +/-- to this event aquatique!
I saw that but it was my first trip there so don't really have a benchmark. They did show Northumberland as being one of the effected areas and the fishing here has been terrible, so far this summer
Yes, I see. Crazy metrological times. Fishing terrible or not, I'll continue watching, supporting and enjoying your films. At 52, thanks to Mr Arthur Ritis, I can't get out myself. I grew up fishing off Brighton Marina. Nowadays I enjoy watching fishing exploits from the arm chair. Thanks Nathan you do brighten up the day. Thank you so much.
Hope that larger one appears as a double figure is always welcome, getting bigger 🙂
Just a few more pounds to go! 🤞
Great video mate👍🏻 That dog is a legend 🤣😂
What landing net are you using there?🤔
He is a legend, a bit winey but he get's on with it. Eventually. The net is a Spro Freestyle 4m handle, not sure on the net though.
@@SlippyLimpets 🤣😂 Thanks mate👍🏻
The landing net you use, could you give me the make and dimensions please.
What size does it reduce to?
Great video, looking forward to being on Skye in 2 weeks time. Plan is to fish Neist point and explore from there
It's a Spro Freestyle Handle. It's closed length is 60cm and 4m fully extended. Only weights 250g too. Think its from predatortackle.co.uk
@SlippyLimpets thanks again , ordered the handle and arrives Monday from Angling Direct, ordered the net as well, but no update on its ETA yet😆
@SlippyLimpets Any recommendations on foot wear? Preferably with best grip on the rocks. Budget is max £50, so no fancy Savage gear booties for me 😆
I tend to use approach shoes on the rocks because they have sticky rubber soles and great support, but ain't that cheap. Best/cheapest way to improve any shoes is add some Supatraks to the sole. They work quite well on dry rock, not as good as sticky rubber, but come into their own when the rock is wet or when you're standing on seaweed/wet lichen
Bloody wind knotts on braided line is well annoying 😒 I've had to sacrifice a few dozen yards cuz I couldn't untangle it, but I do find I get more hook ups on braided line for some reason?
I hate getting them too, but this one was the first for a while and was lucky to spot it before it turned into a proper knot. Hook-up rate is definitely better, think it's due to the low stretch and better sensitivity. Tight lines Robbie
You tried them on top water lures out there yet? Would be good fun!
Not on the Hebrides, but I have on Skye and it is great fun, especially since, compared to bass, pollack are terrible at hitting TW and fly all over the place.
Wear welly’s and you’ll never get a tick in Scotland again it works for me
Good tip mate, I'll give that a go
👍👍👍👍
Oh, can't wait! Let you know what I think at the end
Enjoy!
I always end up commenting during the video cuz it's always a good show
👏👏👍👍🎣🎣
🙌🙌🙌👍👍🎣🎣😊
Gotta pull that out sideways
Haha, I'll give that a try
Wrap your ankles and legs in 'reversed' gaffer tape for the ticks......😉
That's a new one for me mate!
good video again @slippy limpets
Thanks ShamRock👍🎣
