Great video as normal. I would love to see an underwater view of your lures in the test tank if you can rig that up. Keep up the great work! Cheers, and tight lines.
If you’re making a walking bait, I would consider the Blue Dragon Sea Slug. They are beautiful little creatures. And you could even make the back appendages injected so that they wouldn’t get in the way
Okay now we need a mini version for the sunfish and bluegill! Out of every bait you’ve made I really think this is my favorite. Been watching for 4 years now. Thanks for the awesome videos.
This reminds me of old lures out of my grandfathers tackle box! They sure don't make them like they used to but charge way more for their plastic junk.
Need to make a Chip lure, weedless crank bait with a hidden spring loaded hook, or a “ferry wheel” style splashing top water lure bro! Keep up the good work you’re crushing it.
I will say again, the best videos are the ones where the bait is a new idea so no one knows if the action will be good or bad. However when the action is good, it just makes the video even better!!
I would say this is an extremely official bait on the grounds that not only were there a lot of fish, caught along with a lot of hits, but this is I believe one of your first baits to ever have multiple strikes on single casts. There were several times in the video where you would cast reel in and the beat would be hit 3 to 4times before it was fully reeled back in for the next cast. Awesome bait
Jointed.. soft plastic swim bait. Have an inner skeleton for line ties, hooks, joints, etc. Maybe some type of screw lock weight system to adjust the fall. That's be pretty epic.
That’s a sick lure. Please send it over to Europe and I’ll serve it to a hungry Northern in 120 fps on a 400mm zoom lens 💥 Oh, and underwater footage is included 🙌🏼
A common mistake with top water baits is setting the hook when you see the water explode around your bait, I was always told to wait until you feel the fish at that works much better than setting the hook prematurely . The other reason not to do that is setting the hook and have the bait come flying back right at you often resulting in a treble hook hooking you . Great video great bait.
Giant black horsefly. Look that thing up. It's freaking gnarly the size of a bumble bee and all black. Wings and all. Bet that would catch a nice blue gill.
The Ole crazy crawler brings back memories. Definitely seems to weed out small fish. Always had the same problem with hookups but caught some of my PBs right at dusk with crawler baits
I have a bunch of hand me down tackle boxes from over the years and inside of a few of them are some old crazy crawlers. Those are the only 'winged' lures I have ever seen.
I'm pretty sure I've watched all of your videos, possibly more than once and I love all your work, but I think for some reason...this is my favorite bait you've made so far. Even with the hook up ratio, the amount of times the fish were willing to stick with the bait and keep swiping at it was impressive! Fine job my friend!
Hey, Nate, I've noticed as you have, that the fish are striking the front of the bait, where the wings are going to interfere with the fish's ability to quickly grab onto the bait, I think it would help if there was a slightly larger hook, or a hook with a longer shank, to allow the fish to get the hook farther down its gullet. I think that would increase your hookup ratio.
Great lure, I hope you make more crawlers, one of my favorite styles of topwater. If you could still get it to float, perhaps slightly bigger hooks would improve the catch rate.
If you decide to fish this again, maybe chase some pike and striper with it. Would love to see some big fish blow up on that thing. That in a shad or shiner pattern would be ABSOLUTELY KILLER for stripers here in the California delta.
I'd love to see you go for some giant pike with that bait. Another great video, Nate! Cheers! (I still think it would be cool to see you make a scuba diver bait, just for ships and giggles LOL)
The voiceover carving was very cool, you should do more. As far as the bait, amazing the action it produced, you defined it well with your comparison to a freestyle swimmer. Coffee was hot, the weather was beautiful and another fun video from MarlinBaits, thx for sharing. Loads of luv from Texas!!!❤️❤️❤️
Would love to have you come fish the rivers up here in Saskatchewan, Nate! I spent all of yesterday afternoon catching pike back to back. You'd love it!
Awesome video, Voice over was great, would actually like to see more of that, specially with some of the materials you're using, and to actually see you catching fish!!!
Oh man that was awesome to see the great crawling action! I did a realistic bluegill crawler build on my channel with a less-than-ideal action, so it's great to see a perfect build!
Just busted out the crawler the other day. Spotted a New Jersey giant the other day. Caught a 4.32lb and this bass made it look like a dink. It’s gotta be atleast 9lbs and it’s my new goal for the year
Wow, that's a fascinating suggestion for a walking bait! The Blue Dragon Sea Slug is indeed a beautiful creature, and incorporating its characteristics into a lure design could create something truly unique. Injecting the back appendages to prevent interference is a clever idea. I'm curious to see how it would perform in action. Keep pushing the boundaries of lure innovation! 🐉🎣🔥
The voice over in the beginning definitely has some home movie vibes. Like when that crazy aunt comes back from abroad and forced you sit down and watch he videos while she tells ya everything. (Think early 80's)
I enjoy watching your vids and try to watch them as they come out. As a fan of yours I've got some ideas for you. We have some interesting bait fish here in Oklahoma. The banded darter, leopard darter, and the cardinal shiner. Thier colors are bright and vibrant. Anyways love your vids like I said earlier.
I love the voiceover while carving. It’s cool to hear your thought process. “Sanding sanding sanding…. Sanding sanding sandiiing”
Voice over > music montage
I've enjoyed the music recently, but the voice over was fun, especially the surprise with how you did the eyes, haha. Great video!
Haven't seen a crawler since the giant wasp lure. Absolute masterpiece! Do a pike fishing video with it.
Great idea!
Great video as normal. I would love to see an underwater view of your lures in the test tank if you can rig that up. Keep up the great work! Cheers, and tight lines.
My wife and I watch all your videos together.
If you’re making a walking bait, I would consider the Blue Dragon Sea Slug. They are beautiful little creatures. And you could even make the back appendages injected so that they wouldn’t get in the way
That would be awesome
Okay now we need a mini version for the sunfish and bluegill! Out of every bait you’ve made I really think this is my favorite. Been watching for 4 years now. Thanks for the awesome videos.
Awrsome!!
And you got to take it home.
This reminds me of old lures out of my grandfathers tackle box!
They sure don't make them like they used to but charge way more for their plastic junk.
They are better today. Everyone works as it should since they're all identical.
You’re an artist turned mechanical engineer. That is a thing of BEAUTY!
If there is a "chip clip" every video I would be so happy
Need to make a Chip lure, weedless crank bait with a hidden spring loaded hook, or a “ferry wheel” style splashing top water lure bro! Keep up the good work you’re crushing it.
I think this might be my favorite of the lures you've made so far. Excellent topwater
The fact they kept coming back was great, awesome lure
I will say again, the best videos are the ones where the bait is a new idea so no one knows if the action will be good or bad. However when the action is good, it just makes the video even better!!
It's a good day woke up right to a new marling baits video days is off to great start 👍
love voice over, do it as often as you feel like it!
The narration is great, makes stuff easy to follow
I like the voiceover. thanks for walking us through it, its always interesting.
I think that is the best topwater crawler motion I've ever seen.
Awesome bait
just absolutely stunning craftsman ship like always, this might be in the top 5 favorite baits from you
I love the voiceover of you carving out the bait, it shows just what you think is happening, tight lines!
Some people might find the silent builds more relaxing, but the voice-over entertains my smooth, gen-z mind. I really enjoyed it!
It would be interesting to compare watch time to a similar video without a voiceover.
This might be the best bait you've ever made. Beautiful and amazing action. Congratulations
Thoroughly enjoyed the voiceover combo.
The most badass piece youve ever made in my opinion!! It is absolutely beautiful and the action is off the charts!! Your such boss! #Legend!!!!
These videos literally ground me. Thank you for being awesome ❤️💚
Jointed.. soft plastic swim bait. Have an inner skeleton for line ties, hooks, joints, etc. Maybe some type of screw lock weight system to adjust the fall. That's be pretty epic.
Would Love to see a video at the end of the year showcasing your favorite baits that you've made in the past year or of all time!
That’s a sick lure. Please send it over to Europe and I’ll serve it to a hungry Northern in 120 fps on a 400mm zoom lens 💥 Oh, and underwater footage is included 🙌🏼
Chip!!!! Best beginnings ever! Also ASMR now stands for Awesomely Satisfying Material Removal! 😁 2:08
This was one of your better ones. Thank you
Just got into bed after a long day, nothing better than seeing a Marling baits upload to unwind to !
Any day with a new Marling baits video is going to be a good day. Keep up the good work!
Greetings from the Northland! Today I will start my quest for top water jointed crawler. Great videos as always.
As always you and your humor is freaking great!🙌 Great voice over narration!🤣
That's such a great bait! I wouldn't mind seeing a flying fish or bat lure with the same crawler blades!
Thoroughly enjoyed the crawler bait. Way to stick with it. I'd rather get a hit and miss than get no hit at all. Keep up the good work.
been awhile since you done a top water bait.nothing beats top water lure takes
Another beautiful paint job combined with successful performance. Great job!
Love the voice over!!!! More time for fishing!!!!😊
Wow that paint job was a wild ride, I never had any idea what was going on or coming next
Socks in the shop is wild. Love it.
That's a really quick reel, I always have to remind myself to slow down with those.
Crawlers are a very productive bait I've had the same pompadour ried on for 3 years now.
One of the best you’ve done. I’d really enjoy fishing that
Giant black horsefly.
I have never seen a bait with wings before. Reminds me of the flying fish that would occasionally fly next to our dugout canoe on the Pacific.
I have a bunch of hand me down tackle boxes from over the years and inside of a few of them are some old crazy crawlers. Those are the only 'winged' lures I have ever seen.
The voiceover is more than welcomed……your doing great…….the bob ross of bait making I call you, it’s like asmr when your painting your baits😅
Nice looking bait, Thanks for sharing Nate
Probably my favorite lure youv ever made you killed it brotha🎣👏🏻
I'm pretty sure I've watched all of your videos, possibly more than once and I love all your work, but I think for some reason...this is my favorite bait you've made so far. I think that would increase your hookup ratio.
Heddon torpedoes use a longer shank trebble hook too. I have similar poor hookups with them.
You never cease to amaze me 🔥
That bait is sick!
I love the action on it!😄
“Being all soft with their lips” add that one to the mug! Haha. Love your stuff Nate! Awesome bait and awesome catches like always
Another perfectly executed bait.. very cool 👍
dang! thats next level baitmaking!
This is my favorite!❤ awsome job!
I’d like to see you make the state fish for every state. That would be pretty cool!
Great lure, I hope you make more crawlers, one of my favorite styles of topwater. If you could still get it to float, perhaps slightly bigger hooks would improve the catch rate.
The hand is quicker than the eye , feel the fish set the hook ,,, Good video
Making one half that size would probably be killer! Do it please, it's such a unique action
I'd also love to see your take on a chasebaits prop duster PLEASE !!!
I need that crawler! My favorite lure to throw most of the year here in texas. I’ll take one! Thanks for the great content!
Nice, Monday lures!!
today i am sick but this video made me feel happy
If you decide to fish this again, maybe chase some pike and striper with it. Would love to see some big fish blow up on that thing. That in a shad or shiner pattern would be ABSOLUTELY KILLER for stripers here in the California delta.
Love the content. And you're a friendly and entertaining fella to boot. Love entrepreneural spirit.
How refreshing..!! Good stuff!! 🤘🎣
Great idea the voiceover, probably helps the focus while making the bait too... And the funkyness of the bait..? Maggot Brain by Funkadelic. 👌
I'm still looking forward to a bat modeled after a rainbow shiner, I think you would have a lot of fun painting it.
That is a very sexy paint scheme!
I'd love to see you go for some giant pike with that bait.
Another great video, Nate!
Cheers!
(I still think it would be cool to see you make a scuba diver bait, just for ships and giggles LOL)
Reminds me of a jointed pompadour. The pompadour jr is one of my favorite TW baits.
The old "jitterbug". Memories of the 50s-60s and my Dad introducing me to "casting" and, picking out bird's nest.
😳🙂
Another awesome show!
Could u make a hinkle shad replica??? Think it would be cool 👍🏼👍🏼
Looks like a super dope lure!
You’ve got the hands of a surgeon.
Всегда интересные и очень детализированные приманки, молодец!
I love the voice over

One of your best
Big fan of the voiceover
Awesome video,
Voice over was great, would actually like to see more of that, specially with some of the materials you're using, and to actually see you catching fish!!!
Call it the Olympic Crawler and you should do that paint scheme more often. It looks really good.
Oh man that was awesome to see the great crawling action! I did a realistic bluegill crawler build on my channel with a less-than-ideal action, so it's great to see a perfect build!
Making baits. listening to Benjamin Todd. Sounds like a good time..
At first when you said it was looking like a frog I thought you were painting a Maui Maui. That would be a cool lure
Yea I wanna see a lure like that that must be cool 😎
I'm loving the top water! Next how's about a metallic whopper plopper with a soft plastic curly tail?!?!?
Another spectacular bait!!💯
Just busted out the crawler the other day. Spotted a New Jersey giant the other day. Caught a 4.32lb and this bass made it look like a dink. It’s gotta be atleast 9lbs and it’s my new goal for the year

Around what area in Oklahoma? Fellow okie here
Jackall called... They want their Pompadour back! 😁 Seriously though, nice bait! Solid work. I love the bait that was the inspiration.
