I have always admired his casting accuracy, even when I think he miscasts, it ends up on target. It’s like watching and listening to Bob Ross. Calming voice. Then, when he adds something to his painting and you think it’s a mistake, it turns out great
Aside from the high quality of your videos and the skill you so obviously possess, you are that rare breed; a completely honest fisherman! One fish in 7 hours is just sometimes how it goes!
Fishing is a lot like flying an airplane, hours and hours of boredom broken up by a few moments of sheer terror. That is a great muskie. I got to go to Canada fishing 4 different times and caught gobs of pike but only 1 muskie and it was 38 inches. One of the highlights of my life.
You have way more patience than I could ever have. Love the little casting montage... gives you sense of just how hard you were trying. But, what a reward that was when you finally caught that river monster! Thanks for sharing your adventures on the river.... makes me feel better when I can't get out there.
I’m impressed with the accuracy of your casts, placing the lure right at the shoreline from all compass points and distances w/o ending up in the vegetation and brush. 👍
I used to watch JG's Waters and Woods on Saturday mornings here in the Chicago area religously. This RUclips channel has far replaced that for me!! Keep up the great work here Matt. As i'm sure many here live vicariously through you. Again, great job !!
Absolutely fantastic Matt. I'd think most fish would be swimming for their lives when that lure hits the water, all except the river monsters. Sure enjoyed my morning coffee and your exploits with lures that could never work. Happy to see your bashed thumb is healing. Hope you didn't damage your truck door.
Matt, I am a musky diehard, and this is your best depiction of how musky fishing usually goes. Hours, and hours, cast after cast after cast! Then, you got an awesome thrill with a big old toothy critter!!
Nice muskie. I'm impressed with your creeper lure. I collect them and that's the first one I've seen that has rattles in it. I'm gonna have to add one to my collection.
“Howdy everyone!” Anytime a fishing video starts like this you know it’ll be a good one! Especially if they come from Minnesota! Great video as always!!!!
My little 3 year old twin girls both asked to "watch a fishing video" with breakfast this morning. So pleased to see your upload! Thank you as always sir
LoL! Thanks for including you catching the tree branch. There are times watching these types of videos where it feels like I'm the only one doing that. I need a better Editor for my real world fishing.
I really enjoy your videos. So many others have all the talk and hype; you just fish. I find it very relaxing to watch, but also inspires me to get out and wet a line once in a while. Thanks for the best fishing videos on YT.
Your catching up! Only 6 months old videos, not 5 years, enjoy them regardless, as a lifetime fisherman, you do a great job! My only regret now, is I never Muskie fished! , but...I was bass fishing on a lake w Muskies, and one hit my spinner, wow! I will never forget that, of course he broke off. But very exciting! I dont think your like Bob Ross....If you ever get up to southern N.Y. try Chautauqua lake for Muskies and big Walleyes...
This one was actually uploaded last fall, within a week of the trip if I remember right. There's good reasons to hold off on uploads though. For one the season is short here and I don't want to just disappear from RUclips for half the year. Also a lot of the spots I fish too many people have found. If I get on a hot bite and I want to go back I might hold on to the footage for a few weeks so I don't blow up the spot and have people sitting on every spot I caught fish in the last video I posted.
The worst day of fishing beats any good day @ work with 2 exceptions. 1) Winning the office pool lottery & 2) Watching your icehole of a boss get fired! Last days of fishing are the memories that feed dreams until spring
The guy that runs this channel could be a pro fisherman imo. He's definitely spent a lot of time on the water honing his skills. People can learn quite a bit from him by closely watching & listening to him.
I like how you show footage of cast after cast sometimes. It shows how much work and dedication it takes and not every trip limits out in 5 minutes. Not sure if you’ve tried it, but here in Michigan when the salmon start the fall runs can be a blast. They can put up a fight that will give you awesome adrenaline rush
A most enjoyable video. The emotion and suspense to the last moment. That only wonderful musky must have been pure bliss and fortunately the animal didn’t get unhooked and you could get it up on your kayak and gaze its beauty. Mission accomplished and a most satisfactory drive back home recalling that bite and fight. I wish I had had a similar happy final in my last fishing trip on last Friday. I had caught seven bass on a wacky rig with four of them quality fish. Being an unusually hot day the surface of the reservoir was a mirror after sunset. I thought it would be the right moment for the icing on the cake if I could catch my first bass ever on a rat lure. I had a first bite on the rat but no hookset. I walked on along the bank and half an hour later with almost no daylight I had a second bite and this was a brutal one seven meters away from me. A powerful fight started which felt like a fish well over two pounds. I was relishing to have that perfect end to this fishing day trying a new lure but…unfortunately the bass jumped and released itself. Well, that’s fishing!
I really liked how you did a slow motion replay of that hit... over the years you've had some strikes that I wish you replayed..lol keep coming with the videos bud and hopefully more replays of big strikes
MY uncle taught me to fish, and we had plenty of skunk days. But the man always said, I'd rather be fishin' than just about anything else. Glad you got one!
I don't envy your next few months, but there are times that I think it just might be worth fighting through the freezing cold and snowy winter just to be able to enjoy the remarkable fisheries you have access to, and so much fishing success in. Blessings! I look forward to the next few videos before "hibernation" season.
The amazing accuracy with his casts shows just how many casts he has made over his time fishing. Hundred of thousands, I'd guess.
I did search for his blooper reel just to make myself feel better! But yes I love his smooth accurate casts.
Right, I probably make 100 a weekend and I feel like a child compared to him, especially on a kayak with a 7,4 pole
Not saying he ISN'T amazing at casting, but you also never know what's being edited out. Never assume what you see on RUclips as absolute reality.
I'm better
I have always admired his casting accuracy, even when I think he miscasts, it ends up on target. It’s like watching and listening to Bob Ross. Calming voice. Then, when he adds something to his painting and you think it’s a mistake, it turns out great
Only kayak RUclipsr that when the video starts, you immediately feel like you're in one of those dreams where see everything clearly
Just the sound of that fish inhaling the lure, you knew that was going to a monster!! Another great video!!
Aside from the high quality of your videos and the skill you so obviously possess, you are that rare breed; a completely honest fisherman! One fish in 7 hours is just sometimes how it goes!
Especially when fishing for muskie
Like they say, a Muskie is “the fish of a thousand casts”. That was a beauty of a fish. Sometimes catch just that one fish makes your whole day.😊
Fishing is a lot like flying an airplane, hours and hours of boredom broken up by a few moments of sheer terror. That is a great muskie. I got to go to Canada fishing 4 different times and caught gobs of pike but only 1 muskie and it was 38 inches. One of the highlights of my life.
But your outdoors, so peaceful, better than a plane, hopefully hooking up!❤
Muskies that sound like the devil.hmmm...interesting waters your in Matt!😮

I am so jealous! These have become the only fishing recordings I watch anymore. Love his honesty and that he doesn't over narrate.
Fantastic job! What a beauty of a fish - it's the river's equivalent of a tiger!
Bob Ross of fishing. So calming and well explained
Now that's fishing. Love watching you work the water. Good stuff, Matt.
I used to watch JG's Waters and Woods on Saturday mornings here in the Chicago area religously. This RUclips channel has far replaced that for me!! Keep up the great work here Matt. As i'm sure many here live vicariously through you. Again, great job !!
What a fish! Worth the effort!
HARD WORK PAYS OFF,BEAUTIFUL MUSKY GREAT JOB.
Awesome! Thanks for showing how difficult it is to catch a musky and also I like that you replayed the violent strike!!!!
Persistence paid off! Nice fish
Watching that fish explode on that lure made me jump as if I was right there!! Great footage,Matt. Thanks for the video, loved it!!!!
Nice!!! The fish of 10000 casts proves why once again......beautiful musky
Absolutely fantastic Matt. I'd think most fish would be swimming for their lives when that lure hits the water, all except the river monsters. Good Morning!!
Matt, I am a musky diehard, and this is your best depiction of how musky fishing usually goes. Hours, and hours, cast after cast after cast! Then, you got an awesome thrill with a big old toothy critter!!
Nice job. Pinpoint casting and perseverance lead to a beautiful Muskie.
Another stellar video and fantastic editing to keep 7 hours of fishing an enjoyable experience to watch.
that gulp when it took your lure was goosebump-inducing
First Saturday day off In weeks and I get to wake up the Bob Ross of fishing much love man! Keep it up
My Saturday is now complete....Thank you, Matt.
Nice muskie. I'm impressed with your creeper lure. I collect them and that's the first one I've seen that has rattles in it. I'm gonna have to add one to my collection.
Great trip. It only takes 1 to make your day. Nice catch! Stay safe.
“Howdy everyone!” Anytime a fishing video starts like this you know it’ll be a good one! Especially if they come from Minnesota! Great video as always!!!!
Nice work! Patience is a pillar of virtue! Your patience paid off handsomely!😊
Found your channel a week ago. Can't stop wstching.
I could see the flash just before the strike. It's a great feeling. Thanks for the video!
It's always a rush to see a muskie make the commitment, get caught and get released. Good stuff!
Gee, Matt, I nearly jumped out of my seat when that muskie hit! Nice fish and a great video, thanks Matt!
I really enjoy your videos. So many others have all the talk and hype; you just fish. I find it very relaxing to watch, but also inspires me to get out and wet a line once in a while. Thanks for the best fishing videos on YT.
The Bob Ross of RUclips fisherman. Such a relaxing tone of voice throughout - even when he's excited for a big catch.
Love the casting montage at 10:25 .... it hits home how little there biting 😊
Fantastic editing to capture this long day and final payoff.
Does this guy EVER cast a snag!? His casts are insanely immaculate
Once, back in the 80's, it was a different time, lot's of booger sugar. Crazy times!!
nice fish brother ...keep the good job
Thanks for showing, had a load of laundry to fold, thanks to you it’s still unfolded and I don’t care. Keep the videos coming.
One of the best ways to start a Saturday 🎣🛶

Not a critic, really do enjoy these videos as I am somewhat disabled now, and cant fish anymore! I do get it...
The worst day of fishing beats any good day @ work with 2 exceptions. 1) Winning the office pool lottery & 2) Watching your icehole of a boss get fired! Last days of fishing are the memories that feed dreams until spring
What an awesome fish. And a nice smallie to boot. Not a bad day at all. Thanks for sharing.
That smallie was pretty ambitious hitting a lure almost as big as he was.
Perfect video to watch with my coffee and breakfast
The fish of a thousand casts. What a beautiful stretch of river. Great day!
7 hours...Worth it!!
Just got my first kayak this year and these videos have taught me a lot. This is my favorite fishing channel!
The guy that runs this channel could be a pro fisherman imo. He's definitely spent a lot of time on the water honing his skills. People can learn quite a bit from him by closely watching & listening to him.
I was fast forwarding all through the video. I was kept saying bad bait but that muskee was huge! Great video!
Yeah buddy! The sound of that fish hitting the lure 👌🏻

That fish looked extremely intimidating in the water when you caught it. I love watching these videos of yours
Thats a great way to get the heart pumping. Nice catch.
You literally have the craziest first in North America in your back yard. Jealous is an understatement.

Dude! That thud when the Musky hit. Awesome. 👊🏻👊🏻
LETS GET HIM TO 1M!!!!!!
Great way to start the day!
ONLY TAKES ONE CAST IN THE RIGHT SPOT , BEAUTIFUL FISH , CONGRATS
Fantastic. I watch every second of your videos, never skip ahead.
Great video. I wish I had the patience to fish 1 lure for an entire day. I've tried but have always failed.
Thanks fur the video.
I love when the big ones just slowly swim off and there just ripping drag like it's 4lb best thing in the world
The Fish of a thousand casts, or one!😊
WOW! Thanks! Always enjoy your content. Hope to see your Saturday mornings videos all winter.
Great Job, Nice Fish...I wasn't sure about that lure...once again your persistence paid off.
That was awesome! Nice work Mr.!
That was a nice strike on the big lure, never give up the grind out there, as long as you have a chance to catch these giants.
Gotta love when you adrenaline is heart in your voice❣️🙏🏼you’re the best❣️🙏🏼
Awesome effort paid off! You and your buddies should tag some and see which ones stay and grow in that area? That would be great!
I really liked how you did a slow motion replay of that hit... over the years you've had some strikes that I wish you replayed..lol keep coming with the videos bud and hopefully more replays of big strikes
That definitely looked like perfect ambush spot 👍👍
really makes the day worth it
Geez, Matt..we could have just watched you cast the whole video! Another excellent trip!
The anticipation was really building during this one! Nice fish & video.
Well done on that big one that was a lot of patience
Grats man! Loved the footage of that muskie getting vertical to shake the bait. Well done!
MY uncle taught me to fish, and we had plenty of skunk days. But the man always said, I'd rather be fishin' than just about anything else.
Glad you got one!

Your aim is amazing!
Brilliant video! That strike really made me jump!! Cheers, John.
Morning. My favorite youtuber doing his thing. Made my morning. Thank you. Everyday above grounds a good day.
Even though you do quite well with Musky they're still considered the fish of a thousand casts and I knew you wouldn't disappoint.
By far and away my favorite youtuber
Nice job sticking with it, what a monster
Definitely, that was amazing.
Let’s go! Always great when you post! Keep it up!
Nice one bro! I don't think I could have stuck with it for as long as you did. Just goes to show persistents pays off. Great job
What a beast, congrats!! I'm glad I'm not the only one that gets the shakes on Muskie! 😜
Looks like so much fun. This channel is as close as I’ll get to this one experience. So thanks bud for sharing
Very very nice. Great day on the river. Well done, both fishing and video production. Thanks 😊
What a fish!!! The fish of a thousand casts...Musky
Absolutely correct! 1 Musky was worth the time and effort. Beautiful fish 🎣!
Best 2 fish video I have watched. Thank you for sharing! Love your videos
One good musky definitely makes an outstanding day on the water.
I love you POV style as it makes viewers like me feel like I’m the one doing the fishing. Well done!
Dude, your casting ability is next level. With those banks and that lure? I’d look like I was fishing for squirrels
😅
