That hookup around 7:00 min mark reminds me of one trip as I was at the end of a retrieve, just as I lifted it off the water, a huge pike launched straight out of the inky depths and into the boat like a missile, landing on my open tackle tray, and proceeding to thrash my lures everywhere including overboard (lucky all floaters/top waters) before I got the situation under control. Lol. No hook set, no net, just straight into the boat and full on mayhem. To this day, I'm convinced it was part of a plan to try and prevent me from catching him and all his buddies.....

Matt, please resist any temptation to advertise for sponsors. Love, LOVE that there are no obnoxious promotions for gear on your channel. Such overblown promotion has ruined most every other fishing show. Also, love that there is no lousy music, no yelling - just you, nature, and fishing. Bravo.

Great way to end the video with a big pike! That’s for letting me come along.

Matt, I remember you muskie fishing this river last year and it really produced some big muskie and it certainly did not disappoint this year, just a different species, nice pike! Take care and be safe!

Daaang, that's one of the biggest pike I've seen pulled up in one of these videos.
They were all pretty nice fish, but that one at the end made the whole trip worth it.
    😄👍

Caught my PB pike this weekend in Canada with a whopper plopper from a kayak, this video was well timed. So awesome when they eat.
