    Your videos have really opened my eyes to the advantages of a paddled Kayak. You fish water that a trolling motor could never enter. You catch unmolested fish in those areas.

    • @jamescanady3442
      @jamescanady3442 16 дней назад +9

      I have an Ascend 133X that I've decked TF out. I have gotten that thing into many places that boat owners can only dream of; from bodies of water with nowhere to launch, to canals that require my winch to launch and get it back up, to mountain lakes that no boat could ever get into. But when I took a trip and used my friends smaller yak with nothing but a paddle, it was life changing. I could easily get that thing into places that I could only dream about getting my 133X into, or places that would at least take a ton of effort to get my 133X into. And like you said, the fishing pressure was basically non-existent in many of those areas that I got into with the smaller yak. Awesome comment and realization, Doug.

    44 years ago I began fishing again as an adult. It was on a 50 acre private lake in CT. Fish and strikes like the ones you were getting in this video are why I got into bass fishing at that time. What a summer I had that first year. I have never found another place that matched that lake. I went back to it about 8 years later and had the best day of bass fishing I've ever had. I sure wish I could find another place like that near where I live now. Today, 8 - 10 fish would be an epic day number wise, and then, most of the time, they'd all be under a pound. Currently, I am limited to bank fishing, so that doesn't help, and most of the ponds around me are privately owned. I understand that developers have come in and bought up all the land around the best fishing ponds and built private subdivisions around them. Now you have to live there to fish them. Ya gotta love where I live in NC. They're killing me! Thank God for ultra lite. At least I can have a great time on occasion pan fishing, although even that is slow right now. I am Sooo looking forward to the Fall. The heat this summer and last has made for the worst summer seasoal fishing for me in the past several years. Thank you very much for sharing and reminding me of why I used to enjoy bass fishing so much. I hope to get my chance once again soon. Your trips continue to give me hope and I thoroughly enjoy your success on every trip you share! Blessings!

I'm always scanning when on the water and to watch you collect intwl and catch those fish makes me smile. From the bank its a little harder using the casting rod with suburbanites not liking you to clear the bank runway but still fun. You drop a cast on target, flip the line twist off the rod and weeds from your paddle on auto pilot. Yeah you've done it once or twice...we know but also know we appreciate it. Blessings brother

      I had far more luck this morning throwing the cicada crawling lure than I did with a frog and jointed rapala. I just had to let the cicada sit there for a minute are two and it would get bit. It's been working for me all summer too.

    God damn. I live in Germany, but I grew up in the States and bass fishing was part of my upbringing. I finally got a fishing license here in Germany and for months I've been trying to catch any type of fish (no bass here). Still haven't even had a nibble. I'm starting to doubt myself. I can't believe, that there is no fish in these waters. I get so jealous watching him catch one after the other 😂😂

    Fish are generally opportunistic feeders. Yes, sometimes you have to go through some lures to see what they bite. I dealt with this today. Since the fall transition is upon us, a great lure to use is owner block head ned rig. It's weedless with an elatech creyfish reddish color with trophy bass. I sadly lost one lol 😂 I was spacing for a couple of seconds and sadly lost the only bass I could have caught. I believe it's because I'm tired from working hard all week. No biggie, I had a great time. 😊 I love fishing. Summer has been tough because it's been hot. Once you notice the fall transition, it's important to keep moving to where bass will stage when winter comes in a few months. Tomorrow I'll move to a new spot. Then go back to a spot I went to before in mid-September and caught some nice smallies and almost a striper to see if they'll stage in the spots I was in last year. Either way, I'll keep on top of it when I can to track the bass. Long as there's no heavy rain, of course 😊
