- With the cod season just around the corner, I'm keen to get a few more bass on the shore before i pack the bass lures away and hit the bait. I'd been looking at a new mark for a while and decided to try it out despite the not-so great conditions.
Hope you enjoy!

A bad day fishing is better than a good day at work. Great VLOG. Keep up the good work! 🎣
Well done for hanging on in there! The seascape reminded me of North Cornwall, there’s always an onshore wind making the casting hard going and there’s tons of rocks. My one and only bass was caught by allowing a white gravity stick to wash around in the surf around the rocks as I’d read that bass often snatch up small fish that have been battered on the rocks. Took at my feet (just like pike can) and weighed about 3lbs.
What I love is, you have access to a boat. You've been to Scottish Islands and Norway, even visited the Fish Locker (see I AM a fan!), yet you still come back to standing on a boulder in the sea, fishing on ground that was made by Nagasaki. You truly are a fishing great.
Class effort and tenacity, lad! Spooky timing - I watched this after a full day bass lure session out here on a trip to Ireland’s Copper Coast, and had a day guided by the wonderfully skilful, knowledgeable and very funny Jason O’Riordan. Look him up - bass fly legend!
Saw some great baitfish action and some rolling backs and dorsals of silver - but no hookups.
Brilliant 8 hours out with a top fella and angling maestro.
Now I’m off to try some similar looking bay and inlet rocky ground to yours , Nathe - out here on my 5 day trip. My wife’s a very understanding lady! Stay safe mate. and tight lines.

Great stuff. Really enjoyable, love those conditions- I'd count that Pollack as a blank breaker for sure. The Bass didn't know what was good for them. I do wonder if offshore conditions are just as relevant to finding the Bass inshore ? Who knows. What i do know is that the bird isn't a duck ! Looks more like a Guillemot ?
I'll second a Guillemot. There are some juvenile shearwaters that can look very similar but I think you're right
It’s this years’s new young adults - definitely a guillemot! Just tired, it seems.
What a show Nathan, well appreciated the determination and dedication to catch a fish, Karl NZ 👍👍👍👍
Thanks for the comment, Karl, much appreciated 👍🎣
Eyup Nathan. Hats off again for managing to fish with a camera on the go and talking to us all while doing it, so it feels a bit like my fault that your mind was elsewhere when you lost that fish. I'll be up almost to the top of the waders again this week expecting to hook up to very, very good Bass. Thank you for the inspiration. It has been and continues to be a wonderful thing. If I don't drown in the attempt I'll sithi after!
Got to admire the tenacity.
Day fishing is better than a day working
Great Video looked like a awesome place to fish
Thanks for another great video and really bad luck on losing that fish. We've all been there and we know that feeling. But tomorrow's another day! Tight lines!😊🎣
Another great video - love it when that blue dot appears for new content - You're the best there is out there - Thankyou 👊🏻
There's still bass off the rossal beaches (FLEETWOOD) had a couple last evening, and fished one of your favourite marks near craster last weekend, plenty of codlin, bumped into the lassie who goes under the name fishing hinnie, , Mrs miserable.
I'd have given up and gone to the pub Nathan, you're very dedicated.
"I'll just get this fish in..." Yeh, reminds me of "I'll just go round this iceberg". 😂
You gave it a right go. Fair play.
Reminds me of a week and a half ago and I tried out my lures and new rod in Cornwall caught zero but your right nice to be out there, I’d of been happy with a bite lol
Ive been fishing similar ground on Anglesey, had 10 bass over 2 sessions this week. Southwesterly, winds, high tide, drift soft plastic and gravity sticks were my weapons of choice..smashed about 3 to 5m out from shore most of them.
Great video Nathan. I feel your pain re the bass.
I had one today, fought it in, tried to grab the line to lift it up the rocks (North Wales) but it did a sexy dance and was off. I feel your pain, but consoled myself, at least I had the fun of the fight without the task of unhooking and returning it. Lost a couple like that lately and am thinking, maybe I need to carry a landing net.
That looked bloody freezing nath, hats off for trying pal, never mind it'll soon be time for the cod,off the beach,in your thermals lol
Weirdly enough, I'm looking forward to the cod season. A little bit of suffering🤣
Nice rough little season Nathan 😊. Shame about that wind lol 😊
You're sure keen as mustard Nathan lol, least you had a pollock and a decent looking Bass out, really enjoyed that. Total contrary in conditions to what I'm used to, I'll have to give surfey conditions a go certainly looked like a lot of bait fish action so the Bass must have been predating, tight lines matey till your next great vlog.
Great days fishing! nice one Nathan🐟🐠🐬🐋
Another good video….good ground too for the fish
Great video again mate. Well done :)
Great video Nathan. Think I've got a rough idea of the area you were, only fished around there in flat, clear conditions. Was there much colour in the water?
It was a tiny bit milky but still very clear, which surprised me. Glad you liked the video Dave, tight lines 👍🎣
what waders are you using please
Nice try Nathan 👍
Shame about the one that got away, better luck next time 🤞
Gooe effort mate "There's no fish in Norway..."
"hooks are made of cheese..."

Thanks mate, still feel like a numpty for loosing that one, though. Tight lines👍🎣
