  • The Isle of Skye has some very popular lure fishing marks, but it also has a lot of coastline to explore with the potential of getting off the beaten track and finding new places to fish. This video about that process. Sometimes the effort pays off and other times it doesn't. I enjoy it either way and hope you enjoy this video.

    By far the most exciting fishing channel on RUclips. Not so much the fish caught but by god the effort to catch them. This episode made up for the time since the last video. Keep up the brilliant work, love it.

    Good to see you’re back posting, though it seems you’ve gone a bit soft. I would’ve thought you’d have traversed that cliff face, Free Solo style 🤔😂
    If you can pick up stranglers at this time of year, you’ve done well. Come the summer and it looks a worthy area for a chuck or two.

    Ahh, man - very nice kidda - great to see you back on the rocks, Nathe!
    Might have bumped into ya; but I changed my plan and went Llyn area instead of my usual Easter break up on Skye. First time here, hoping for some scouting and maybe some silver. Not to be! I’ve blanked three days in a row. No pollock and not even a stinky coalie! Loads of sheep sh&te tho and mud! It’s been brutal - Ripped some expensive gear including my waders too. Fell on my arse twice an’all. Yep - it’s been as windy and miserable as a bean eating Tory!
    Your bud cheered me up. Ta mate.

      The Llyn is a tough area to fish, some spots are awesome, but the bit's in between are shite. Took me 3 or 4 trips to get in amongst the fish. If you're still there then check out Rhiw, good varied fishing! Tight lines, Gaz!👍🎣

    • @garyweston1673
      @garyweston1673 4 месяца назад

      Thanks for the tip. Nathan ; back home now. I tried several spots and areas,from some scary descents around headlands near Abersoch, Rhiw and Cilan, to beaches and coves from Porthor across to near Criccieth. Think the weather kyboshed me - that and my lack of skill. Stunning area; when I could open my eyes against the wind.
      Think I’ll try again in summer months.
      BTW, Russel in Criccieth Tackle Box shop was a top fella and really helpful. Great shop too… lots of lovely stuff I wanted. Not got shops like that around Edinburgh. Really recommend people popping in
      Thanks again, mate. Tight lines.

    Hi Nathan - Do you think you'd ever attempt to spin for flatties? Your videos are unrivalled on RUclips but a lot of the marks you fish are nearly impossible for normal folk - But an attempt to flattie bash on the beach we can learn from and try ourselves. Thankfully there are plenty of beaches in the North East too but these cliff spots are much further a field. Thanks for all your videos mate. Love them!

    • @SlippyLimpets
      @SlippyLimpets  4 месяца назад +1

      Hi Mate, Funny you should mention this, I've just had surgery on my knee and can't do my usual fishing for 6 weeks-ish so going to have to fish places close to the car and with easy flat access. Flatties were number one on the list. I've caught them before using a drop shot rig and a small Isome and Berkley gulp worms, they can be great fun on light tackle. Glad you like the vids and tight lines👍🎣

    Hi Nathan. Another great video 👍
    I'm interested to know what you take with you communication wise? I tend to fish solo and there's a plenty of marks local to me that I can get 90% of the way down but won't commit to the last 10% for fear of rolling an ankle or worse and not being able to climb back out. My general rule is if I can't crawl out, I won't climb in.
    More often than not phone signal is non-existent.
    Cheers.
