    Thank you, Leslie for the detailed explanation of the changes. The one item that I was so glad to see - you did not mention. Listing photos and mockups of customized items can no longer just say "name here" or "Your Phrase Here"! I hated all those garbage listings.

    Thanks for this breakdown! I have a few planners made with templates that have a commercial use license. I've customized them myself with different fonts, colors, and graphics. Can these still be sold under "Designed by seller"?

      @@amordepaper hey there! As long as you have manipulated the design and made it your own, you should be protected under these creativity standards. I would double check the articles and review the actual announcement, however, to make sure for your own special circumstances!

    Hi Leslie, I'm just confused on whether using a premade designs from production partners are allowed? I use the elements such as cliparts and patterns from Printful's design maker. TIA

    Hi Leslie, I sometimes use premade patterns and always personalize with customer's name and print using production partners. Is this allowed?

      @@Tuiihfd that’s a great question that I am not 100% sure of. They just do not allow you to use premade templates without manipulation

    I'm actually selling one of these ridiculous bundles that Mikehadwin mentioned, but I added faceless content that I made myself to the bundle..... so.... I hope that is still okay? I've got 2 mini bundles in the works but they are literally ALL my video footage, so I know they will be solid... but the ones
    I currently have... could that cause my shop to be closed down?

      @@CarrieMarieDeLoge if you created the videos yourself you should be fine, but if you simply downloaded stock videos from Canva without manipulating them, that is not allowed

    Can I use CAD design based jewelry on my etsy shop or transform other CAD designs by changing background using AI tools on my etsy shop and tag as design by shop owner ?

    Question for anyone who may know - I have yet to find the answer.
    Are we allowed to use mockups for stickers and decals? No print on demand. Just decals made by me. However, it would be a waste of product if I were to cut a decal just to put on a car, take a picture, and not be able to use it then afterwards. Thanks

    Have you been able to tell from Etsy's information how the new rules of mockup use are applied for digital products? Is use of mockups allowed for digital products?

      @@ligagrei110 they haven’t really dove into this but I’m assuming the same rules apply. Aka it must be your own creation, the first thumbnail must accurately depict what they’re going to be receiving as the end product, you cannot take items from canva, kittl, CF, etc and try to sell them, you can’t use mockups like “your text here” for personalized items, etc.
      Are there any specific worries you have about your digital product mockups I can address?

      @@helloeverbee what I mean is - is seller allowed to buy mockup for their product, put their own digital product design in it and then use this mockup as listing picture?

      @@ligagrei110 from my understanding of the update you are still able to purchase stock or curated mockups no matter what youre selling as long as the end result of the item directly matches what the mockup shows.
      So for example if you’re selling an e book I wouldn’t use a mockup that looks like a printed out version of the item since that is not the end item they will be receiving.

    If using pod, I've seen mixed suggestions by various sources. In Etsy should we check made by you or made by someone else? Any clarification on this would be appreciated.

      @@davidtremayne4963 this is such a great question and to be completely transparent, there hasn’t been a straightforward answer on this. I have personally done made by me, then explained within the production partner section what my role was in designing. However the new listing form changes might adjust this

      @@siyoneladyantyi6885 they are under the same guidelines so if anything that you created in the past doesn’t adhere to the guidelines drawn out within the articles provided, I would recommend adjusting each of them.

      @@helloeverbee I went back to my listings to change them to 'designed by' but didn't see any option to do that. Even for new listings, there's no 'designed by' option to choose.

    What if I have a patented and utility design that obviously is my own design. Do I show the patent number on the listing? Or where do I put it to show Etsy and buyers where the design came from and that Im the owner?

    Occasionally I would use a ready made design as is, from Creative Fabrica that is specified as POD allowed. Are those still OK going forward with Etsy? Thanks!

    HEYY Leslie! Just watched your live a few minutes ago and came over here as you suggested to watch this breakdown. So here's my question for ALL of the 'slow' folks such as myself - - - - So a purchased mockup (CC1717 as an example) that is AI generated from the seller of the mockup, is still OK as long as that t-shirt is an accurate depiction of a CC1717?? Am I understanding this correctly OR even that scenario is a TOS violation now?

      it cannot be AI generated, it would have to be an actual photo of the item but you can purchase these from someone else :)

      @@helloeverbee Well that sux. Lol. I am mostly running into AI generated mockups now. (at least they look to be) AI generated.
      I am mostly trying to find mockups that have multiple models in them. For instance, couples, men, women, both sexes / a family of 3 or 4 / couples / group of 5 men or women, stuff like that. Any suggestion on what sites I can mostly find these particular types of NON-AI mockups??

    Thank you so much for this .. I do have a query - or rather confirmation. I have 2 stores on Etsy, one of which I sell pillows/cushions. Some designs are AI generated art, some are hand drawn art done by me. I use a POD partner to print and send out the products to my customers. So.. would these be regarded as 'Sourced By' or 'Designed By'? TIA xx

      @@Ingucheeni these should be designed by but what’s going to happen is the information you put into the “what is it” section of the listing form will dictate this for you automatically. You don’t choose one of the four yourself if that makes sense!

      @@rashelginzburg only the listings you’re using a print partner for and this should have always been done, this is not a new update. When you’re setting up your listing you have to signify you’re using a production partner for a piece of the work.

    I’m a bit confused; if I create my design and put it on a bought mock-up is that designed by or sourced by? From your video it seems that it is designed by but if the customer personalizes them it is sourced by?

      @@chii_nik the item itself and the classification doesn’t have anything to do with the mockup. It’s simply the role you played in creating the item. If you created the design and handmade the item, it’s made by. If you created the design and have a pod partner it should be designed by.

      @@darekbarton3755 you are only allowed to use designs that you created. You ARE able to use elements from canva but you must manipulate the elements to create an end design that is yours 😊

    Well, well, well. Come to find out, the pictures of nudes created with AI is not only allowed, but you simply need to follow the same rules as you do with regular nude art. You simply obscure the good parts for public viewing (you're thumbnail image) and that's it!
    You must just disapprove if nude art and chose to spout disinformation instead. OR you didn't comprehend the clearly detailed TOS.

    What about all the bootleg retro tees? I see so many people making those with celebrities and artists. I thought you couldn’t do that even if adding a bunch of pics and a text with it. Could you please elaborate? TYIA🫶🏻

      @@user-xw8jb5km3n we would never recommend using a celebrities image or likeness on any item. However, the personalizable ones where a husband gets his wife’s face should be permitted to my knowledge
