Hi Leslie. I was wondering if you mix a lot of different products in your store if it would hurt your Etsy algorithm and if lots more listings would help to boost the algorithm? Can you also give a tip on getting your first few sales/reviews please?
@@karlos99able hey there! This wouldn’t hurt the algorithm because most people are finding you through items, not the shop itself. The more opportunities to get seen, the better! When properly optimized and vetted. And yes! Send personalized messages to each of your previous orders simply asking them to do so and you could offer them a custom coupon code for their next order to thank them for their purchase.

I am about to begin my Print on Demand journey. I understand we can't use a design from Creative Fabrica etc., "as is" for POD items to sell on Etsy, but can we use the graphics "as is" if we sell on Etsy and are making the items ourselves and shipping to the customers?
hey hey! it doesnt matter if you're selling POD, handmade, digital, etc. the design has to be YOURS 100%. However, if you grab a design from CF, you can manipulate it and "make" it your own and that is approved.

Thank you, Leslie for the detailed explanation of the changes. The one item that I was so glad to see - you did not mention. Listing photos and mockups of customized items can no longer just say "name here" or "Your Phrase Here"! I hated all those garbage listings.

You would have to be a human dynamo to make that number of leather products each month in order to produce those revenues... not to mention the COGS required which would take a big bite out of the sales price per item. Maybe if you already have a huge stockpile of pre-made products that you add the personalization etc. to. Fabulous niche for an established craftsperson thought - wow!

How do I work on POD with bulk orders? I understand that there are POD companies that give a discount on bulk orders. but how does it work? POD -no stock -right? Thank you so much for helping me out here.
@@hassiamachlis8710 hey there! You would first make sure that all of your sales are being processed manually not automatic. Then you would go in a manually process an order that includes all of the items they purchased and use the info from Etsy to complete.

@@hassiamachlis8710 no, you would just get the order from your customer on Etsy then head to your POD provider and create a manual order of what they wanted
Have you been able to tell from Etsy's information how the new rules of mockup use are applied for digital products? Is use of mockups allowed for digital products?
@@ligagrei110 they haven’t really dove into this but I’m assuming the same rules apply. Aka it must be your own creation, the first thumbnail must accurately depict what they’re going to be receiving as the end product, you cannot take items from canva, kittl, CF, etc and try to sell them, you can’t use mockups like “your text here” for personalized items, etc. Are there any specific worries you have about your digital product mockups I can address?
@@helloeverbee what I mean is - is seller allowed to buy mockup for their product, put their own digital product design in it and then use this mockup as listing picture?
@@ligagrei110 from my understanding of the update you are still able to purchase stock or curated mockups no matter what youre selling as long as the end result of the item directly matches what the mockup shows. So for example if you’re selling an e book I wouldn’t use a mockup that looks like a printed out version of the item since that is not the end item they will be receiving.
I'd like to know what is going to happen to the old listings that we already have in our shop?
@@siyoneladyantyi6885 they are under the same guidelines so if anything that you created in the past doesn’t adhere to the guidelines drawn out within the articles provided, I would recommend adjusting each of them.
@@helloeverbee I went back to my listings to change them to 'designed by' but didn't see any option to do that. Even for new listings, there's no 'designed by' option to choose.
@@bhumiseva6806 it’s about how you categorize the listing at the beginning “what is it,” “when was it made”
Thank you so much for this .. I do have a query - or rather confirmation. I have 2 stores on Etsy, one of which I sell pillows/cushions. Some designs are AI generated art, some are hand drawn art done by me. I use a POD partner to print and send out the products to my customers. So.. would these be regarded as 'Sourced By' or 'Designed By'? TIA xx
@@Ingucheeni these should be designed by but what’s going to happen is the information you put into the “what is it” section of the listing form will dictate this for you automatically. You don’t choose one of the four yourself if that makes sense!

Question for anyone who may know - I have yet to find the answer. Are we allowed to use mockups for stickers and decals? No print on demand. Just decals made by me. However, it would be a waste of product if I were to cut a decal just to put on a car, take a picture, and not be able to use it then afterwards. Thanks

@@user-xw8jb5km3n we would never recommend using a celebrities image or likeness on any item. However, the personalizable ones where a husband gets his wife’s face should be permitted to my knowledge

Thanks for this breakdown! I have a few planners made with templates that have a commercial use license. I've customized them myself with different fonts, colors, and graphics. Can these still be sold under "Designed by seller"?
@@amordepaper hey there! As long as you have manipulated the design and made it your own, you should be protected under these creativity standards. I would double check the articles and review the actual announcement, however, to make sure for your own special circumstances!

In this video you mentioned "Hellocustom", which I found very interesting, but I have a question: When you offer a customized product, let's say a t-shirt, do I as a shop owner have to use the data my customer gives me to make the new design myself ? I thought Printify would take it from the options the customer writes and Printify would print it directly. Because as I understood you "HelloCustom" does it. I look forward to your kind reply. @@ricardoeng7818 hey there! Thanks for joining us! And no Printify does not take care of this. They only print what you tell them to print so you would have to update the design manually every time before the order goes through. That’s where HC could possibly be beneficial.

I’m a bit confused; if I create my design and put it on a bought mock-up is that designed by or sourced by? From your video it seems that it is designed by but if the customer personalizes them it is sourced by?
@@chii_nik the item itself and the classification doesn’t have anything to do with the mockup. It’s simply the role you played in creating the item. If you created the design and handmade the item, it’s made by. If you created the design and have a pod partner it should be designed by.
What if I designed the item and also offered personalization?

Great workshop! Thanks! I have a question about those keyword phrases that have high keyword scores according to EverBee, but with wrong spacing between words. Should we use those for our 13 keywords in Etsy listings since that’s how customers are typing in the Etsy search field? Thanks!
