If your listing is already selling, it's a TERRIBLE advice to change anything about it. If you mess with SEO or change the main photo, you risk killing the sales. I'd rather copy the listing that's already selling and update the copied one with seasonal keywords, photos, desc, etc. If the listing isn't selling - then yes, you may want to change the key words, mockups, pricing strategy, etc. and experiment with it since you have nothing to lose.

If I run a sale for 20% off and I also have turned on abandoned cart discount of 25%......if the abandoned cart customer purchases with the 25% off will it also add on the 20% store wide sale I am running? or does check out only recognize 1 sale at a time? Or say I sent the people on my mailing list a code for 20% off and at the same time I am running a store wide sale of 20% off will they get 40% off or just for the code? I am always afraid to run multiple sales/codes in fear of this.

I heard your answer but have been doing this incorrectly and using the same title and tags for listing that are in the same niche. Would you suggest going back and fixing this on previous listing?
I started my shop right after Etsy requires customers to Opt-In to receive emails from sellers. I have 280 sales and only 8 people opted in. How is this supposed to help sellers with creating their email list when everyone is so bomb bared with emails which they probably never read or don’t want to Opted in for yet another email list. The email list strategy is only good for older shops that been around for years. It’s not fair to newer shops. If Etsy required the older shops to delete their email list and start over they will be in the same boat. But no they are allowed to keep their lists.

Agree with you totally. Much safer to clone a selling listing than to start from square one just for one season.

If the listing(s) is underperforming, potentially. But you could also just duplicate the listing and use new SEO and test them against each other :)
