I am so happy to see that you had such a good time. Thank you for showing your audience the beauty that is this tiny mismanaged piece of heaven! My country has been through so much yet every time I have taken my European friends (I am Lebanese but moved to London when I was 7) they have reminded me just why I fell in love with Lebanon in the first place and they loved it just as much! I actually moved to Beirut and worked there for 3 years after graduation and it’s sad to witness what has happened since 2019 but like we always say, Lebanon WILL rise again.
I lived in Beirut for a year in the early 2000s (I was bureau chief for the news outlet I worked for at the time.) It's difficult to describe to those who've never visited just how culturally rich, historically significant, and downright beautiful the country is -- though you do a pretty darn good job of that here.🙂 The people of Lebanon are easily among the friendliest and most helpful I've ever met, the food is amazing, and the history and culture can't be beat. It's had a rough go of it over the past 50 years or so. Yet even with the civil war, the refugee crisis, economic problems, and the 2020 blast, it's still easy to see why Beirut is called the Paris of the Middle East, and why the country as a whole is a favorite among people from all over the world.
As a Lebanese, this video was so heartwarming to me ... and thank you for visiting my home town Tripoli. It is severely underrated and underrepresented, even though- in my opinion- is one of the most charming cities in the world
I'm Lebanese and I loved your video. My father immigrated to America during the Civil War and grew up with much of the devastation it entailed. Thanks for sharing, Lebanon is beautiful and deserves all the recognition!
I love these videos so much. Highlighting such beautiful aspects of countries and cultures. So cool to see the resilience of people like Sarah despite some major adversities. Great video
if you were my history teacher in school I might have actually learned something. I'm not sure what it is, but I really enjoy when you pull education into your videos, your voice is easy to listen to and you always make things relatable and interesting. Thank you for this!
Hi Elena! I’ve been subscribed forever and I remember watching videos from the last time you were in Beirut! I’m half Lebanese but have always felt very disconnected from my culture, I have never been to Lebanon and it’s of course at the top of my list to visit. Thank for highlighting such a beautiful place and people, I’ve been looking forward to this one🇱🇧
As a (half) Lebanese, this video warms my heart. While life in Lebanon can be tough, watching videos like these help remind me of all the beauty and culture that’s out there that can hardly be paralleled anywhere else. Thanks Elena for bringing exposure to this beautiful country. I watched your content for a long time and wish we could have crossed paths! I hope you will come back again someday because there’s so much more to discover! ❤
This just made my day! I haven't been able to visit home in the past couple of years. Despite now living in New York, nothing tops Beirut, the city of my heart
I found your channel a week ago or something and I'm really fascinated by how you are travelling while learning the culture and the history. Also the female lense idea is awesome! Great work, you are amazing.
Elena giving us another dope ass video, as always!! Sarah’s segment was especially inspiring. We love to see women persevere in tragedy and pull together to make something beautiful.
This is a great video, with lots of nice detail, esp. about our history. I only wish (and this isn't a complaint) that you would have shown more people in your vid. We Lebanese have a rich variety of looks. Many of us are actually white with colored eyes. The variety should be shown because people who don't know who we are just assume we're just another group of Arabs, and stereotype us in every way possible, including our looks. But of course Lebanon, like any country, is unique.
Thank you for sharing the story of our country! This is inspiring! Great seeing your father at finishing the task conference! He shared amazing things about the things you are doing and continue to do!
Im already a fan of this channel. This video made me so happy :) its refreshing to see Lebanon from your perspective, makes me appreciate things i take for granted. Also you captured the nuanced complexity and contradictions well
been looking forward to this video since you posted about planning your trip back in may! this was so beautiful and I'm glad you enjoyed your time there. thank you for sharing the story about our country and for truly appreciating different cultures the way that you do. this video made me so happy and as a Lebanese person myself, I can't wait to go back sometime soon
Love it!!!❤ Thanks for sharing! The theme and content are so great! The war can’t take away the beauty of Lebanon, and women’s power to do business or anything is so enlightening!!!🎉
You are both so cute and very adventurous; Tripoli is challenging to visit and you went way into the souks! Love how you highlighted the positive side by visiting the amazing Sarah to see her work with under privileged women. VERY nice video.
Elena I love your videos and seen absolutely all, when I saw especially this I felt that the Mediterranean literally went out in that place, it is beautiful but without a doubt it has a resemblance to the French coast only a sadder climate, but the culture and the interview at the fashion level are very elaborate and great. I was talking to my mother about making her know the Mediterranean when I managed to leave my country I want to give her that beautiful gift she deserves it, above all she is the person who gave me life. When I went to Amalfi for the first time the impact that my eyes saw were the most beautiful in the whole world and I thanked God and my mother for giving me life without a doubt, because without it it would not have been possible to achieve that. And from my point of view the Mediterranean hides the most beautiful treasures that through a simple camera cannot be fully appreciated, I am very sorry that the French have not been able to settle in Lebanon I feel that it was the best for them at the level of development, but well I feel that the Middle East in this case invaded Syria only to partially impoverish the nation and bring authoritarian But well there are also positive cases like the ones you put in the interview, only that the nation is submerged by authoritarian governments (not to mention that from the Middle East Lebanon and authoritarian But well there are also positive cases like the ones you put in the interview, only that the nation is submerged by authoritarian governments (not to mention that from the Middle East Lebanon and Syria are currently the most relaxed countries at the levels than others of Arab descent, let's say they are more "flexible" than for the West it is not but at least for them yes.) I love your lifestyle I hope to realise mine in the same way, at least similar because projects always come different, but well also that strength will always give you freedom as long as you have it and values, which is what I now undoubtedly respect, value and appreciate more. When you are completely single you can give yourself all those privileges and even being married but it is difficult to find the freedom completely that in the end they always see it as a tie and a division and it should never be like that, but that is our current society.
As a Lebanese person living abroad, I would recommend putting a trigger warning before you show videos of the explosion, only because it makes me cry every time I see it :( Thank you for sharing your wonderful story with us!
It makes my heart so happy seeing you visiting the Middle East and showing people how gorgeous it is, I would love to see Saudi Arabia through your lens hopefully some day soon ❤
really loved this vlog! I really appreciate how you show us around and being so sensitive with everything. the bags made by those power-women are amazing!
Hi Elena! You create art. Thank you a lot for informing us about the world's color. I know this is hard but I have a suggestion. You could also put subtitles in the local languages of the countries you visit
Hi Elena Taber , Ballan entreprises c.a.-Venezuela , Renewable Energies , my memory is so far from the thoughts to remember such a great country that marked a big history of my youth from the time and moment of my childhood till my present age of my living it was very particular . Live and do not let die .
Since here are a lot Lebanese people in the comment section and I‘m about to visit Lebanon for a couple of days really soon, what’s the best way to get around in the country and what are the best places to visit for a short stay? 😁
Maybe I missed it somewhere, but is Sarah interested to grow her brand and have a international Clientele? I would buy from her and I think many of your followers too Elena!
I'm Lebanese and I felt so happy watching this vlog. Lebanon is truly so gorgeous and I felt that you represented it really well
Me too!
