  • I left the UK early 2020: before Covid, when the UK still had a queen and we were still a member of the EU. A lot had changed. This is my experience of my return.

    The reason why the guide dogs in morocco not used as much :
    1 : moroccans will help the blind person even if they don't know him/her .
    2 : trained dogs probably expansive to buy and is hard to look after in house or flat .
    I think this is the only reason 🤔

    I left UK in 2017......I had done much travel in my 20's/30's and there is something missing in British life; it's called happiness. It really is a brutal country nowadays for anyone without a high paying skill set. There is a complete lack of understanding what happiness is and any form of spiritual awareness. When I come back for a visit, its always a relief to leave and go to sunnier and happier places. Living in the UK is like treading water but never getting anywhere or growing outside of that comoftable existence of the world you understand.

      I agree with most of what you say, there are many reasons why many Brits don't feel happy like they used to do, I would say Morden Politic' the WOKE Ideology being pushed on everyone for starters, the second is how the Main stream media talks down to everyone, and if you don't agree with what they say then you a racist or far right etc. Also if you are unemployed then you have to do so much job searching, and be careful you don't sanctioned. (meaning you will some of your benefits no payment for a short time which can be not stressful but insulting). I am not calling this, the last item but the amount of things they want you to do online, is unbelievable, so many companies and Corporations are becoming just so lazy, so all these things and more out us under so much more stress than we ever want.

    I always loved my UK but decided to leave last year. People are very angry and I think civil unrest is coming in 2024. I was so surprised and disappointed when nearly all Brits rolled over and gave into lockdown and masks. By the time I left last year my local coop had installed huge cameras at the self serve tills………I felt so violated. The green and pleasant land can no longer be enjoyed because it is such a struggle for the average person to meet daily costs. I want to live, not be stuck in survival mode for the rest of my life.

People are crazy ... I went crazy quit my job and booked flights to Morocco and would love to have a long stay or live here. Feels bloody fantastic being here.
    No its not perfect , but the weather is good, the food is great. Most people are lovely , Moroccans have great values and seem to take care of eachother. Family values etc.
    I still love england but west has lost so much of itself and it feels like its going to get worse, Moroccans should know how lucky they are in alot of ways.

    What I would miss in the long run is the diversity of people you mentioned as one of the positive aspects about Britain. Especially as a gay person I realise the fear of gays in Morocco. They feel they can never be themselves and are constantly worried that someone might suspect or even find out about them.
    And of course communication will always be difficult. My French is very limited, as is my Arabic (even worse). My German, Dutch, English and Turkish don't help much.

    There is a general stigma against dogs in Morocco because of religious beliefs. Islam considers dogs to be dirty animals that nullify Wudu for prayer. This is the reason why Moroccan streets are full of stray dogs. For a Muslim, a dog is a nuisance animal.

    • @GariSullivan
      @GariSullivan  7 месяцев назад

      It is such a shame that Islam teaches that about dogs. In western societies, dogs are very useful for crime investigation and medical services - as well as helping blind people. So what your saying about Morocco? It's all still here - it's just cities have beaten and immigrated it out of the people.
