Got to ask why they are in poverty. There is plenty of food in the world. Every supermarket chucks out tons every week, many more tons get spoiled before even reaching the supply chain. Freedom of movent/mass uncontroled immagration should never have happened in the first place. The British public were never given any form of public consultation re this by Blair.

Perception plays a large part in how we feel. I come from the east coast of england not far from peterborough. My town was deluged with immigrants a few years ago, and the stats today say that 1 in 3 of the towns population is foreign. Go to town on saturday and you will struggle to hear an english voice. I try to be fair and say lets put it this way, if 10.000 english immigrants arrived in a small French, Polish, or German town in the space of a couple of years how would those residents feel, might they not feel deluged, might they not feel under pressure or threatened. This is the perception many of us have, to many, to quickly.
Let's be honest for a change.We want our country back is what they really mean a white English speaking soceity.

In Latvia the average wage is £300 per month. Here in Britain they earn £300 per week...... The average British worker cannot live on £300 a week. The employer will naturally hire the cheaper worker. Times this scenario a million times over and this is the dilemma the country is facing. The British working classes will have to work for less wages if they want work. The outcome is huge resentment and politicians are just not listening as mass immigration doesn't effect them personally or their incomes.
The average British family will not move to Poland or Moldova or Finland etc to look for work. So the lie about being able to move around the EU is a complete lie. Only retired expats and a few middle class types live abroad. British people do not speak other European languages for a start. I will vote out of this EU nightmare to save the next generation. and for democracy to be able to elected mp's to account.

We now have an older population, which is more dependent on the NHS, which will need immigration to support it.

It's not about a choice between no immigration and unlimited immigration....there is a middle ground.
We need immigration, but it needs to controlled.
And the only way we can control it is if we leave the EU.
But the terms of leaving the EU will likely be having to adhere to free movement of people to be in the free market, otherwise there'll be huge economic backlash. We already control immigration from non EU countries and if there had been any change that needed to be made it would've been easier to negotiate and debate from within the EU rather than outside of it.

I am not from UK, not from EU and I am from few in my country who dont want it to become part of EU or any other "union". My countries population is doomed by stupidity but I hope Britain is free and democratic country who just want their freedom back and dont want some European bureaucrats put any regulations on this great country. The thing about when they talk about places that "aren't experiencing immigration" is many of those places are still getting internal immigration from people moving out of London because of foreign immigration & its effects. They also see the transformation happening in the towns and cities and they don't want it. Unfortunately the Tories doubled down on immigration despite leaving the EU.

There are more migrants in the NHS because the number of patients have increased dramatically and there are not enough home grown skills to meet the demand. So if they didn't have the number of migrants the NHS would NOT need the additional staff. Brits would do the 'dirty' jobs that the migrants are doing but not at the depressed wages that they are paid ... Its just cheap labor . Business loves it... And the simple reason the economy has increased is because the population has increased .. But have salaries ??

Immigration from places like Syria will probably increase now to fill the jobs of the Polish etc who will have to leave.
As a Brit it gets tiring when there are 'immigration' trends where it DOES put a strain on the economy, the schools, the housing. It's one after the other. We BRITS want to breed to, we'd love a big family, but having lived here for so long and knowing the limitations most educated citizens DON'T have huge families - yet immigrants don't understand this and there migration becomes an exponential problem with the next generation.
What is wrong with being proud of Britain as Britain when so many people want to live here BECAUSE it's Britain? If you dilute Britain too many more times then it won't be Britain, and I'll fight tooth and nail to prevent that. I love Britain and I want my children to have a fair go too, migrant children come second just as mine would in THEIR country. Makes my head spin.

this seems a tad on the biased side to me - think shes in the remain camp. Nothing wrong with immigration but it desperately needs to be controlled. We are only a small island and its getting more and more cramped and our services put under enormous strain. We have youth and older people alike that would do the manual labour work, believe it or not, and would actually be hard workers but are overlooked many times because of a saturated supply of cheap labour coming from the eu.
Claiming immigration has a significant effect on wages compared to other factors has little to no economics basis when considering the other 30 EEA countries that have freedom of movement and don't have the same issues as the UK.
UK wages have not gone up because UK productivity has not gone up. You can blame immigrants (though Germany's performance, as do Sweden's and the Netherlands' hit that on the head, as they also import loads of unskilled immigrants), or emigrants (Poland managed the best result of the lot, despite sending a million educated citizens to the UK), or no immigration or emigration at all (Japan), but at the end of the day it comes down to unit labour costs and productivity, which is a consequence of investment in people, production and process. We are rubbish at it in the UK, working long hours ineffectively.
How did Brexit help immigration? Numbers are higher than ever in 2023.
Its just pure basic common sense to be able to control who is allowed to live in your country. It doesnt matter what race they are or where they come from, the problem is the number and the quality.

Almost all the cities and towns north of Oxford are desperate for a boost in skilled population.
There's a reason all the good public services and cultural events only happen in London, it's the only city that has a population density to earn it.
I am from Bolton and it is ridiculous a town of its size has no underground system, no airport, no large conference centres or arenas and only one university. Then you realise there's only 200,000 people living there. A similar sized town anywhere else in the world would easily have a million.
My mother came over in the 90s, from Poland, she couldn't speak much English.
But give them half a chance, and they can, very quickly and better than most leavers, as my mum did!

I was never asked or had a opportunity to say no before. If people want to come here to work fine but we should have a system that controls the numbers.
sometimes it is sad that the country from where the immigrants are, won't even accept the scholar's degree, degrees in advanced country, sometimes doesn't mean anything, for example a guy works in a paper company has been working as a cartoonist and he already offered his amazing (gotta be honest it is) works to the government but they don't accept it, and now he got accepted by the japanese government for his work not in his country, I'm not blaming the government in this case or anyone (it's an advanced country, the gov might be facing more serious issues such as lack of occupation such as poverty and the high rate of uneducated homeless people) but yeah that's what it is

What a lot of people fail to understand is that it's not personal against immigrants, it's about immigration as a whole. The woman in the video talks about herself being the daughter of an immigrant. Nobody is saying stop immigration, deport people or blaming the migrants themselves. People just want a fair system that isn't 'racist' per se, supporting people in the EU over those outside. You can be outside the EU and still allow people to come in and work in the NHS believe it or not.
The next time someone tells you it is racist - shoot them.
The next time someone calls you a little englander - call them a little european.
The next time someone blames the Conservatives for cutting services - tell them that we wouldn't need to invest in growing it if the population didn't get ridiculously large.

The fact the we are now leaving the EU will bring some change... but it will take many years for that change to become apparent though... Britain will never go back to the way it was before the mass immigration took place. So many are here now and will most probably be here to stay.
I do hope that we can bring the numbers down significantly in the future though.... our country is too small to cope with the amount coming in these days :( it is becoming overcrowded fast...

Make no mistake, immigration is good for almost all countries, what is not good is the mass immigration that the European Union imposed. That move was strategized and implemented by the true rulers of the world, the massive corporate entities that are causing the rift between us all. Once we focus on the true narrative that should be discussed, only then can we tackle the issue . There is a lot of obfuscation and hidden agendas going on. I wish I could chalk this up to the guys in the tinfoil hats, but the inevitable outcome is making us all divisive and paranoid.

The problem is everyone with any skills moves to London.
Maybe if migrants were forced to power the North then it would work better.
The UK should follow HK's idea on national identity (more than half of babies born in Hong Kong are too foreign parents), by banning a build up of foreigners in areas.
For example if in one street 20% of the families are immigrants, then homes in the future on that street can only be sold to British people.
Easy, simply say anyone buying a flat has to occupy it for at least 300 days a year and prevent the purcahse of second homes for investment purposes.
Hong Kong is very racist unfortunately. Hong Kong has lots of Bangladeshi people too.
It's unskilled immigration that should be stopped.

I think it will dry up anyway with the new minium wage.
I was in boots the other day and they only had 2 members of staff in a 600 square foot store, in Hong Kong where the minium wage is about £2 an hour, that store would have had 8 people working at least.
However they are some jobs that EU people do far better and far more effectively than most British, especially things like gardening and decoraitng.
So the UKs top scientists say we are better in, including one of the finest minds the UK has ever produced. The West's top military alliance say we are better in. And loads of successful businesses all say we are better in.
And people choose to believe Farage and co?
