Watched with my morning coffee this morning. What a fun project. I am one of those gals that loves a cricket but know that I won't use it enough to justify the storage space it would take and the cost...so I really enjoy living vicariously through others. ❤
I've seen tips from cricut users. Ball up aluminium foil and stick your blade in the foil over and over (25 times or so). It will clean the blade and also sharpen it! I have used foil to sharpen my scissors forever! Just cut the foil with your scissors. It works! Love the idea and love even more, how much fun you had making it! Lilly will love it! God bless
Fab Catherine I want to make one now ❤when I was young many years ago I used to make paper dolls and outfits for my sisters and collected Daddy's matchboxes to make furniture I still am obsessed with miniature anything thanks for the inspiration I loved it well done 🎉❤😊
Yes, I definitely made doll houses as a little girl, but they were made of just plain cardboard boxes that I painted….I made curtains from scraps of material and took many things my mom threw away and converted it into furniture and decorations. Not much to look at in the end but I adored using my imagination and kept busy for hours. Got to thinking about your roof…wouldn’t shingles made by cutting off the ends of popsicle sticks look cute? Maybe time consuming but it would make for a very sweet cottage look. Enjoyed this so much. Thanks for the trip down Memory Lane! ❤️
Aleene's original Tacky glue is the absolute best for a strong hold. For wall paper I use Elmer's rubber cement. It stops ink bleed and wrinkles. I print all my wallpaper, and I use cardstock.
Hi Catherine, Add base boards at the bottom of the walls. Create a thatch roof with moss for the roof and add a straight piece of wood in back of the door to straighten it out. Style it as a chair rail. This would be easy and it will also hide many "mistakes." Overall, your dollhouse is absolutely creative and 😃wonderful! Kudos to you!
Omg Catherine I never would have thought of making a dolls house with my circuit . I still feel a bit overwhelmed at times with it ( or maybe it’s just my age showing with tech stuff😂😂😂) Amazing just love it well done 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💖🙋🏻♀️ Patricia x
I remember making dolls houses out of card board boxes and making shoe boxes into riding stables making jumps out of lollipop sticks and still do thats with my granddaughter of course, but i still love it 😂😂
Hi Catherine love the doll house. Windows are lovely. Great idea cutting the wallpaper and applying it before assembling your doll house. Will give Lily hour’s of fun. Have a lovely weekend 😊💖
@@DaintyDiaries Absolutly not! She will have to visit her very kind, very cute, really enthusiastic aunt and ask her nicely if she may play with it while there! You had so much fun making it! So every time you see it in your home you will remember that.Thank you fir sgaring. I had so much fun watching as well!
Yes used to make dolls houses from cereal boxes. My step dad went even further by making my Teeny Tiny Tears a high chair from cardboard for me… now they have it all. But I was really chuffed with the chair! Definitely A* for you Catherine x
Hi ❤I’ve never made any dolls houses but I did have a beautiful dolls house when I was about ten years old which I loved and played often with. You did a ok job for first time.but practice makes perfect 😉
Quarter inch poster core board might be another option for a little strength. This is a great idea. Can’t believe there are so many options with a Cricut. I’m amazed!❤️The wallpaper is brilliant.
Oh my goodness Catherine, you can legit create your own Putz house kits aaaamazing. What great idea ❤ the window cutouts can be reused for gift tags 😊 little tip from my decoupage experience, you can use Emery board ( paper nail file) to tidy up the rough edges of the paper, cardboard and balsa wood 😊
Lovely project.👌👍 I'm currently upcycling a sylvanian families campervan that I brought from vinted for £4.00. Any kind of crafting is so great for the mind ❤
@@DaintyDiaries omg the same and still do but it still costs way to much 😱. So I'm upcycling the camper and my best friend is doing the caravan both from vinted so cheep. We moved away from each other but still try to craft on the same projects every now and again. Both just entered our 40s so proves you're never to old 😁👍 Facebook have a sylvanian families d.i.y page and reddit have a sylvanian families sub for doing up the old toys and collecting 😁👍
Absolutely beautiful project and I just love watching you ,your enthusiasm and excitement for whatever you're doing at any given time is so uplifting. Can't wait for Sundays Garden video . Take care.❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️
What a fun project! I loved decorating my dollhouse as a child and as I still have it now I decorated it for holidays with Christmas trees or pumpkins. Such a great job; you're so adventurous!
You are so creative, Catherine. I live the way your mind works, and as you said, it brought back memories. I can remember making houses out of boxes when I was little x
It's adorable. I love tiny things. I'm thinking it would be better to paper the outside walls too in order not to have the wet issues. A small piano hinge would also ensure that the front wall has no gaps. Here's me who's never made one! 😜🤣
What a great idea putting the wallpaper on before you assembled the house. I remember papering a dolls house for my daughter (from the dolls house emporium) and it was so tricky.
I was bought a beautiful dolls house kit as a retirement present from my family....Im in the process of decorating now..... ive got a passion for minatures. ..found a treasure of a book called Miss Violets Dolls house by Sam McKechnie.....such fun !!
You can take a piece of aluminum foil and ball it up the carefully punch the blade through the ball to sharpen it, this should get you through a project until you get a replacement blade. Also when you get ready to make furniture Cricut has the same chairs as what you have outside..
Super cute idea!! Great job I love this dollhouse project. Definitely nostalgia for me & cereal box. That is the extent of my creativity even as an adult. This wouod be great for Polly pocket size dolls-that is what my daughter played with,-almost 20 years ago. Haha! Love this Catherine.
To get the warp out of the curved pieces, take your large wooden cutting board and put that over the piece with the paint can on top. That will spread the pressure across it fully! Good job!
My dad used to help me make my dollhouses and he used to save coloured cellophane so that I could be classy with stained glass! I was heavily influenced by the borrowers books! Things kept disappearing around our house all the time once I’d read how they made their furnishings.
Spellbound Miniatures has a file you can buy to make a cottage with your cricut maker…also furniture etc. But I love your dollhouse also and the explanation how to make and design it yourself ❤
I use “Weld Bond” it dries clear and gives you enough time to adjust things. I also got a lot of tips from “Bentley House minis” Ara is awesome. Great job Catherine. 💐 I have a cricut but have no idea how to use it lol.
Okay, you are a genius! Cutting the wallpaper to the dollhouse template is fantastic and being able to wallpaper before the house is assembled, priceless.❤
Take a piece of aluminum foil, scrunch it up into a ball then take your knife blade & push it down while jabbing it into the foil ball 15-20 times! It cleans any adhesive off & sharpens your blade to brand new. Clean those mats Catherine 😂!
Hi everyone, a little tip, instead of using basswood, use heavy chipboard for your project. In hindsight, I probably should have used this material.
And the window cutouts from the basswood - can you use those as shutters? Cut down the middle and paint on the shutter lines?
Yes, shutters would be really cute x
The doll house would be fun to decorate for Christmas. A little tree, presents, string lights, and a little snow man, etc…
Awww cute!

Really cute. Your niece is going to want this❤❤❤

Oh yes I used to make doll houses from shoe boxes. I loved it, so fun
That’s the best 😍
Yes it is
Darling Catherine, very inspiring for sure. Now it needs furniture inside!
🙋♀️❤ So much fun! We'll see if your niece lets you get away with keeping it at your house!🪂
hahah, I can see her sneaking it out

Ooh it's lovely. It's got a Georgian feel to it 👏
I totally made shoebox dollhouses. I love this. Thanks for sharing. Please make a roof top garden or patio.

I loved working on it 😍 thanks for stopping by Lesley xx
Definitely an A+. Its so cute!!
Put a light in it, would look amazing 😊
I do miniatures- there are very small LED lights on the market (online), which can be stuck to surfaces.
Oh this would be amazing 😍
I loved that. I am not that good but one day I am going to try that. Thanks for sharing. What fun!

Omg the stables! Epic
That’s ingenious!
The window cut out leftovers would make ideal plant labels !
Fun video - maybe cut out windows for the inside too in thinner white card - double glazing and also neatens inside xx

Lovely project.👌👍

I absolutely love you and the doll house! Your enthusiasm and pure joy is soooo refreshing! Thank you!, seems not enough. God bless you dear girl!

What a great idea putting the wallpaper on before you assembled the house. I remember papering a dolls house for my daughter (from the dolls house emporium) and it was so tricky.
Aw yea, I remember doing a house a few Winter's back, and trying to paper wallpaper so fiddly x

Sunggug menakjubkan❤️❤️👍👍
Love the dolls house you can strengthen the board by either glueing two together or using the cardboard on the inside to strengthen it too
Ooh thanks Louise!! Thanks for watching 😍

nice! tacky glue fast drying is my go to for this and it is clean

Jason Jensen trains says to paint or just use water on the opposite side to get the warp out.
