Confidence can come from excellent training. Drilling for perfection of movement with repetition. Being part of a good training system can improve every wrestler.

No sense trying to do that. The internal dialogue is a habit. Many years of going in your head fighting, debating, rationalizing. "What you resist, persists." Better to acknowledge that what you are thinking is normal. You do not have to like it but accepting it as a normal part of our "fear response" will allow it to burn out instead of adding to the fire by getting frustrated. Tell yourself, this is my brain doing its job. Take a few breaths. And do your best to focus on getting ready for the match. Even helps to imagine that the thoughts are someone else saying it and kind of ignore it and laugh it off. "Oh that guy again. I am not going to listen and get ready to wrestle."

Furthermore, the more you do this, the more it becomes your new habit and conditioning. No magic pills to the mental side of things. Some "tricks" but it a process like learning and drilling technique. Gene and Jeff are great to create the new habits and mindset.
