38 yr old past wrestler who struggled with these things on the mat & still struggles with them as a man of faith. God led me here. Nothing builds character in men like wrestling, and nothing gives wisdom and integrity like God.
my freshman season is approaching and I'm in the same weight class as a few other really good upper classmen on the team. I am worried that I won't be able to win the wrestle off and earn a spot vin the starting lineup. I know this mindset isn't helping me get closer to my goals and I want to change it, but I don't know what to tell myself to put my mind at ease. your help would be greatly appreciated
Every time before a match I become overwhelmed with pre match nerves and start over thinking. And I never catch myself over thinking so I can switch to that predator mindset. Any ideas on mental cues or such?
