- I will show you how to paint and restore your garage floor on a low budget.
In this DIY do it your self project I will show you step by step how to paint your garage floor.
Painting your garage floor is easy and could be fun. But most important if you want to save some bucks you can do it your self on a low budget.
I did this DIY project in two and a half hours. Lets just keep it safe and say 3 hours. And I did it on a budget also. I spent less than $100 dollars to paint my concrete floor. For less than $100 dollars you can paint your garage floor, restore your garage floor, and fix your garage. Giving it the boost it needs and protecting your garage floors.
I will teach you step by step how to paint garage floor, how to paint concrete floor, how to fix garage floor.
In this channel I will simplify your life and save you money.
I will make these learning videos the most entertaining possible so you can have fun while you learn.

I did this with half a gallon around the tank in by basement ...2 years ago...It still looks fab ! After I do this job I will look after the new floor and use pads under the jack and plastic sheets for oil changes... Come on Spring..can't wait to do it... I have some prep on holes and ugly repairs first.... I have a pressure washer too ! The scene is set ! Yippee !

As a tutorial, you missed a VERY IMPORTANT step - after you sweep, you have to ensure the floor is free of oil, grease or other contaminants.
Failing to do so will result in the paint to adhere properly. These failed areas will blister and peel off.
So you missed:
1. Remove anything on the floor like dried grease, oil, caulk etc with a putty knife.
2. Wash floor with a good degreaser.
3. Rinse off floor preferably with a pressure washer.
4. Apply an etching solution and apply and rinse as per manufacturer’s instructions.
5. Allow the concrete to completely dry.
6. Use appropriate filler to fill holes and seal cracks.
7. NOW you are ready to paint the floor.
Failing to do the minimum above will result in having to refinish the floor - wasting more time (move stuff out) and having to buy more paint and supplies.
Sure, sweeping and then painting right after is only going to give you bad reviews.
Had someone hired you, what do YOU guarantee your customers?
Sure I can paint a garage like you did with minimal work and effort, but that NEGATIVE word of mouth advertising that a customer will do can be harmful to you especially on social media like Facebook, NextDoor, Twitter, instagram, snapchat etc.
Like my Father said to me years ago, if you’re going to do something, don’t take shortcuts and do it right the first time.
This is supposed to be YOUR area of expertise…
Other than that, overall the video was a good overview but the preparation is very important, and as a step by step tutorial, you missed the mark.
Never assume the viewer is knowledgeable on whatever subject you are presenting.
I was going to ask a iu that degreasing and etching I saw in another video. Perhaps the pain he recommended doesn’t require that process ?

Not sure you have to etch if going over existing paint but you do need those other steps.

Simply repaint. Cheap and simple even epoxy messes up over time.

I followed this guy in doing my garage and it turned out pretty. However he left out a very valuable step. Which is etching the floor. Because if you don't then the paint is gonna peel.

YASSS thank you!!!! I would add a part about cleaning oil stains with a degreaser, and adding something about cleaning paint spills (when the paint has accumulated more than a sixteenth of an inch high above the floor). Great video!!!!

Neee to wash floor with degreaser to get old oils up and scrub with good with soap n water then blower to dry then paint so it lasts way longer but yes 100% better on your project tho for the low low.
Definitely, Pressure wash, use degreaser the more you do to the floor the longer it will last.

Key thing is Clean clean clean , The less dirt, Oil ,Water there is going to be on the floor the more better the paint or epoxy will stick and bond to the surface of the floor , use degreaser or murannic acid follow directions on the container wash sweep dust before you paint
Hi Arabian, I understand to sweep first. I have a previously painted garage floor. AFter sweeping, do i use water to clean or should i use the degreaser? Also how long do i wait for the degreaser /water wash to dry before i paint ? thanks. I read BEHR epoxy garage floor coating comes up on the tires. Any brand you recommend?

What type of sprinkles?
@@Manifestbaddie sorry they are flakes. They sell it in Home Depot. After you roll paint in a let say 6foot by 6foot area you throw the flakes up in the air and let them land evenly spread and it gives it a nice look 👌. But make sure to do it on your second coat not your first one or you’ll just be painting over it
@@Laissez_Faire but then you had a clear coating last right to make sure the flakes are sealed in
@@sergiogomez6 no. You paint like a 4x4 foot section and you throw a small amount of the flakes up in the air and let them land on the wet pain. They’ll stick to it. Then do another section and repeat. It looks great

How long did your paint last, because people say that epoxy last longer than paint can you elaborate on this for me because I actually want to take the cheaper route and do paint myself.

Do you need a sealer with this paint???
Will the paint come off when the car drives on it. I want to do it but someone told my wife it will come right off with the car tire. Also will a second coat or third coat look better or not worth it? TY
