    Nice job. I recently purchased a new house. All my previous homes were older resales. At 80 years old I have the garage of my dreams. Two car garage, with my VW GTI smack in the middle 😂. Thanks, RickGTI….. 🌴

      I have friends who did the clear coat. I couldn’t see spending $100 a gallon tho. But my dad never clear coated his. And 9 years later it still looks good. So I just don’t see the value. It does look really nice with the extra shine. But I can always do that later after a quick cleaning.

    • @SkoolConnor
      @SkoolConnor 2 года назад +3

      WHat difference would it have made?

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed
      @BrosFOURRSpeed  2 года назад +17

      Actually no. To properly clean the concrete, we needed to hose out the floor like 5 times. With water and the TSP. A lot of it gets on the walls too. I'd hate to ruin a newly painted wall. Also paint that did drip onto the floor, wipes right off the epoxy. It would have taken even more work to clean the concrete if there was paint on it. Also, I needed the floor done to park the cars in the garage and keep the bike at my house while working on everything else.

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed
      @BrosFOURRSpeed  2 года назад +3

      @@SkoolConnor It worked better to epoxy the floor first. Paint cleans off it easier then concrete and I needed to be able to put things on the floor each night as I painted the walls each day

    • @billocampo1365
      @billocampo1365 2 года назад +1

      So you won't accidentally drip paint on the garage floor

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed
      @BrosFOURRSpeed  2 года назад +2

      Like I mentioned. Paint wipes right off the epoxy floor. I'd have to scrape it off the concrete. Also, the concrete was so gross, I did not want to be walking all over that for 4 days while painting the walls. Floor epoxy was done in 1 day. Rather walk on a clean floor for this work. And I needed the floor done so I could move the cars and bike inside the garage.

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed
      @BrosFOURRSpeed  Год назад +1

      Well the floor was so nasty, I didn't want to walk on it. The previous owner used it as his bar/hangout room. Smelled like smoke and who knows what was all over the floor. With the epoxy floor, all paint drips cleaned up so easy too. Bare concrete wouldn't have let me wipe paint off. Plus I wanted to be able to park the cars in the garage. So it all depends on what you need to use your garage for while you do this. But it worked perfectly fine doing the floor first. I spent so much time painting and cleaning the ceiling and walls. That would have been awful walking on the disgusting floor while doing it.

      The floor was so nasty, I didn't want to walk on it longer than I had too. It was caked with filth. Plus I needed to be able to park my cars in there so got the floor done first so I could put stuff in there. Plus the paint that did drip on to the fresh floor wiped off so easy. Would have had to scrape it off the bare concrete rather then just use a damp cloth to wipe it clean. Floor stunk too since the previous owner smoked in the garage. No way was I smelling that garbage for hours on end painting the walls.
