Your 996 sounds like a good deal to me, before you gave the price I was thinking mid- to upper-20s. I had a similar experience, bought a 2005 Boxster (987) in 2020 with 33k miles and a rebuilt title, paid $14.2k. Original owner put on 25k in 13 years, babied it. He had an accident, front center hit like yours, totaled for some reason (I saw an auction pic of it and it didn't look that bad) and like you said, I think he couldn't bear to keep it after the accident. So a guy bought it at auction and fixed it up, put 8k on it, and I bought it from him. I've only put about 4k on it but it hasn't had any serious issues so far. The arms that move the convertible top were bent/missing. It's easy to put up and down by hand but I'm going to try to fix that this winter. Hopefully the IMS won't be a problem (knock knock). But my bet is I'm driving a Boxster for less than I could buy a used Civic. Rebuilt title could be tough if I go to resell it but I'll be happy to drive this car for quite a while.
Thats crazy how similar our stories are!! So far great experience, and I haven't really cared about resell value. I just enjoy driving it!! Good luck with your boxster, I am trying to look for one for my wife currently.
Looks like a score to me! “Most hated” perspective is changing a lot. Metropol looks great; especially with the crest in the headrest
I know, and it should be. They are great cars, bargains now but I don't think that will last. i love the embossed crests also!
@@ElijahPorter it’s already hard to find a bargain. I know it’s a rebuild title, but, a few years ago it may have been under 10.
@@996Revival yep, not the case now. even in the year its been since I have bought it, I am pretty sure I could turn a profit, even with the work I've put into it
