I just picked up a 2020 Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled with 3600 miles on it. I'm totally happy with the bike! Installed a new battery, replacing the oil/filter, spark plugs, k&n filter, tail delete, bark busters, rear rack. Bike was hardly ridden so I'm going to explore all the back roads as much as possible and will have fun on the ride! Thanks for ur personal insights on this bike. I'm 5' 8" pushing 68 years of age and will enjoy this Ducati Scrambler 803! 808Hi 🤙

Hi there great review! I bought my Desert Sled just last week (after upgrading from a Scrambler Urban Enduro) I'm in the UK, ride around London for work and pleasure, I take it out of town on longer rides and some green-laning so I'm very excited to see what the Desert Sled can do! I made a few changes like adding Barkbusters, a fly screen and Ducati heated grips all of which are essential for riding in British weather on the Motorways. I agree on the foot brake when I [picked up the bike I panicked a little when I went to push it down and nothing happened until I really pushed down haha.... But it can be adjusted, I've raised mine all the way up adjusted the brake piston and it works and feels fine now.

Fast forward to 2024. Trust me it’s gone up.

Got one in September, 2023 Love it. Ride it on and off road in the UK, think filthy rocky narrow roads. It's an awesome bike, bought it second hand for a decent price. Put hand and engine guards on it, next job is a set of Anakee Wilds!!! Top review mate.

It looks like you had a great time. I've got a similarly spec'ed Giulia, but I like the color or your's better. My wife and I will be in that area this spring for a marathon. Gonna have to add a couple of days on the end for this drive. Hopefully my better half is as good as your's with spirited driving!

Why is everyone hate the stock tail? I actually installed the stock tail back from an Evotech tail tidy kit after I brought the bike used, if you actually take the desert sled off road, you would likely want to add a longer fender

LOL just popped up in my feed. Its also a great way to tell everyone you NEVER take your sled off road, as even the stock fender means your back is caked in a lb of mud. I went the opposite direction, put the fender of the Scrambler Classic on my sled. Doesnt stop all of the mud but is a hell of a lot better.

What engine is in this car ?

Next time open her up more! I have a '21 Ti Sport with Q2/LSD and do these kinds of curves often here in Northern CA. Exiting a sharp curve/corner in high rev range is the real fun especially with the LSD and summer tires! She takes the curves superbly!

Wow! I have this bike and was doing 109 mph on the highway the other day, without even realizing it. In fairness, I do have a small bug screen (I think they call it) but it is only about 10 inches. I have no idea how you came up with only 65 mph, before you feel it. When I did the 109 mph the other day it was only 41 degrees F. I was all bundled (sp?) up with multiple layers and a full face helmet, but you can do 65 in third gear easily. Yes, the 1st gear is low and you have to get out of it quickly, but from 2nd on up it has very wide powerbands. I did 105 mph about six weeks ago up a long, steep hill (highway).

How's your first month of ownership been?

Be careful! I was in love with my Giulia and Alfa Romeo as a brand, however, I will never again buy/recommend another Alfa Romeo in my life. I had the brake by wire system fail on me and it caused me to crash and total the car. They sent someone from Bosch to diagnose the vehicle and in the charts it clearly showed that something malfunctioned (brakes were slammed 2 seconds before the impact at 40 MPH and it took more than 1.5 seconds for the speed to start going down.) Stellantis told me that they were not going to take responsibility for it and that I needed to have my insurance pay for the vehicle. Absolute garbage. I will never recommend this car brand to anyone again! Buy an AUDI, BMW or Mercedes instead!!!!!

Dude seriously buy some gloves. If you had any idea what your hands would look like falling at 45 mph you'd puke. At 70 you can literally lose your hands. #2 piece of gear after a helmet are gloves.

OH man. I bought my 996 two weeks ago. Last weekend the wife and I went to the store. Now my hood won't open WITH GROCERIES INSIDE. sigh. Do you have any tips on getting to the emergency cable? I understand if that doesn't work, the bumper needs to come off. I can't find any videos on how how to get the wheel well or where to find the cable
