2ZZ Oil Pan Battle - Moroso 20970 vs BOE Fabrication TOC Wet Sump Oil Pan

- Don't ask me how I ended up with both the Moroso and BOE Fabrication baffled oil pans for the 2ZZ, but this video summarizes the differences between the two. I have used the Moroso on 2 of my 1ZZs and there has been no issues with leaking. However, if you don't seal them properly, they are going to leak. Know your mechanical limits and there is no shame in seeking the assistance of a professional. I mounted the BOE to a 2ZZ, but I haven't run it yet so I can't comment on how well the gasket works. Enjoy the vid. -AJ

thank you for covering this, i was looking at them both for my corolla build :) now I'm torn on engine management.
Welcome... glad I could help. Pls subscribe. Thx AJ
That’s a bummer on the boe. Heard good things about it, especially with how the moroso pan leaks
Im sure w a lil modification to the baffle, the BOE will fit the 1ZZ. Also, I haven’t had an issue w the Moroso leaking. I think if you prep the bonding surfaces properly and use the appropriate bond, the Moroso doesn’t leak. Lastly, I prefer the BOE bc of its outer design. U can drop the AC compressor easily, unlike w the Moroso.
I got the Moroso but haven't run it yet. Thanks for the advise about AC compressor, might have to install it before putting the engine in. I can't wait to hear about the gasket!
If ur AC is still attached to the vehicle, u will see what I mean when u go to install ur 2ZZ
Yeah, my compressor is attached to the car still 😵💫 wish me luck haha!
@@danielpereyra9612 u gonna hate it 🤣
Just purchased A Moroso pan from monkey wrench racing . That has the same trap doors. Without the front and rear extensions.
They are claiming it holds 6.1 quarts of oil .
Will be using it with the hope of controlling the oil during long sweeping turns during open track events. With 1ZZ MR-S
Can take photos if anyone is interested?
Cool. I haven’t seen this Moroso without the wings you are referring to. Hopefully it works well for you.
Another option is the InoKinetic gPan3, which I have on my 2ZZ (It basically won a coin flip against the BOE pan)
You are correct. I looked at the InoKinetic, but because they only had one pic in the website I opted for the BOE. THX for watching and commenting. Pls subscribe. Thx AJ
BOE over moroso if I had the easy option of doing it again. The extra bulges of the Moroso are just not worth it if you are trying to retain AC or run oil cooler stuff. BOE easily gives you space for both of those.
Good call. I opted for the BOE as well. Thx for watching and commenting. Pls subscribe. Thx AJ
Now I'm kind of annoyed that my Moroso K series pan is $500, it is a much more simple construction than either of these pans lol
Aftermarket oil pans are definitely getting up there in price… kinda crazy if u ask me. I suppose everyone has to make money. Thx for watching and commenting. Pls subscribe. Thx again AJ
Boe, but technically I wouldn't buy either one overpriced
🤔🤔boe
Yeah I opted for the BOE on my 2ZZ. We will see how she does.
